SPENCER GROANED AS SHE CHANGED her outfit for the 4th time. all day long she had been a nervous wreck. half of her clothes were scattered around the floor and the other half was still in the suitcases. she had helped unpack her mom all day who had been non stop complaining about little things but the girl had been able to control herself. luckily her mom didn't really care how much spencer hung out with friends, as long as she'd be helping around the house every now and then so it had been no problem to convince maria to let the girl go to the game night.

the girl though started to regret her decision to go as her social anxiety started to cloud her brain but due to the fact that the teenager was incredibly stubborn, she refused to cancel. after looking at the pile of clothes for another 10 minutes she finally decided on some simple straight leg jeans and a white top. she had her hair in two braids, considering she should've washed it yesterday but didn't find the motivation and put on some minimal make up to look a little more presentable. as she was finished spencer decided to check her phone. sydney had texted her.

Sydney was right.

as spencer had entered the car she was greeted by three arguing boys. they didn't even take the time to introduce themselves before dragging her into the fight. "spencer, right? tell me, do you sleep with or without socks?" the triplets in the backseat confronted her. all three of them were staring at her now, waiting for an answer."WITHOUT! anybody who sleeps with socks is a weirdo, please do not talk to me" "HA TOLD YA" the guy in the passenger seat exclaimed with a slight boston-accent before dabbing spencer up. she laughed as the one in the backseat rolled his eyes annoyed. "turning your back on me, i see how it is" he looked at her judgmentally. "sorry dude, it had to be said" she put her hands in the air. "oh come on, it's not that weird" the driver finally spoke up. "uuh, yes it is!" the guy in the passenger seat and spencer said at the same time. they looked at each other, complete silence in the car before the four teenagers bursted out in laughter.

"sorry, we get into arguments a lot" the driver apologized. he had turned around so he could look at the girl. "i'm matt" he said with a sweet smile. "that's chris and the so called weirdo next to you is nick" "spencer" she dragged out. "thanks for picking me up by the way" "oh that's no problem, we live just down the street" chris is spoke now as matt started driving. "you know, i'm trying to look over the fact that i got called a weirdo twice already, just because of you" spencer looked at nick with raised eyebrows. "not my fault whatsoever. i don't sleep with socks on"

the rest of the ride wasn't too eventful. spencer and the triplets talked a lot and had some other small arguments with lots of laughter. the four of them shared the same humor which led to them getting along really great. spencer hadn't felt quite as happy in a while. she had isolated herself since the divorce thing had happened and considering she only had had the fake popular people as friends they dropped her quickly as she didn't give them any attention. but for her, this felt right. she didn't get the feeling that this friendgroup would be toxic in any way and they made her feel welcome from the very first moment.

and in that very moment as the car stopped in front of sydney's house, spencer's life changed completely. all the doubts and hesitations disappeared from the girls head and she could only feel excitement.
