Meilani paced the length of her bedroom as she chewed on her thumbnail with Scott sat on the edge of her bed. The twins had barely been awake five minutes when they were found by Malia and she told them about how Stiles escaped Eichen House. She held up Meilani's pillow along with a long sword and a black and white photo of a young asian woman with an army man. The man smiled down at the woman as if she had put the stars in the sky while she sat atop of a suitcase.
Stiles escaped Eichen which was not a good sign at all. Malia had wanted to stay to help them out, but she sent her home so the poor girl could shower and hopefully get proper sleep. She swindled a small lie that they'd call her later to help out, but she didn't want to burden the poor coyote with all the drama of the Nogitsune and Oni. She had been pacing her room the past ten minutes she tried to figure something out.
The woman in the black and white photo looked just like Kira and, unless there were suddenly dopplegangers she didn't know about, Meilani was pretty sure it was someone related to Kira. A grandmother, maybe? She wasn't sure, but she needed to screw her head on straight before she and Scott called up Kira for help on the picture and the sword that Malia and Stiles had found in a wall with a dead body.
"God, this sucks," Meilani huffed, chucking her pillow from Stiles across the room and it toppled to the ground. She sighed when the photo of her and Stiles flew out from the pillowcase and fell facedown. She walked over to the photo and picked it up, furrowing her eyebrows when she noticed the way it had been bent and ripped on the sides in random spots.
Meilani knew for a fact that when she handed the photo to Stiles that the picture was perfectly in tact. She purposely slept on the side of the pillowcase that didn't have the photo in it so she wouldn't crush it in her sleep. It had looked just like it had when it was first printed on their first date and the photo was even still fresh and hadn't yet started to discolor.
However, none of that stood out more than what was written in perfectly in Stiles' handwriting that made her heart stop in her chest and tears instantly well up in her eyes.
You can thank Malia for keeping me warm in Eichen
xxx Stiles
A sound that was mix between a scream and a cry escaped Meilani's mouth as the photo fluttered out of her hand and back onto her hardwood floor. Scott instantly bolted off the bed and caught Meilani as she stumbled back, the two of them collapsing to the ground together next to the photo. Her sobs took over her body and Scott was lost in confusion as he cradled Meilani between his legs and against his chest. His eyes trailed back over to the photo and picked it up to see the message written on the back.
Scott furrowed his eyebrows not knowing if he should feel incredibly pissed off or confused by the note. Something about it didn't make sense to him. You know, besides the fact that Stiles would hint he cheated on Meilani just a few hours after reminding her that he loved her. Stiles barely even looked in other girls' direction with or without Meilani around. He held Meilani's body closer to him as he continued to stare down at the back of the photo.
What the hell was wrong with this picture?
Meilani's sobs knocked Scott back into reality - a weird reality apparently where his best friend cheats? - and he tossed the photo to the side and wrapped both arms around his twin now. He pressed his lips to the top of her head with a sigh. Stiles still had another day or two left before the serum ran out in his body, so this couldn't have been Void. What would have made Stiles even think about going near Malia like that? They barely even knew her to begin with and for Stiles to even think about being near another girl was just . . . not right.
Then again, everyone around Scott and Meilani were beginning to surprise him and he wondered if maybe even the people closest to him and Meilani could even come out with their true sides. Even if it were his best friend since he was two and the boy that had pretty much followed around Meilani with hearts around his head since the moment they met.
"Mei," Scott sighed, his heart shattering into a million pieces when another broken sob left his twin's mouth. "I'm so sorry, wombmate. I didn't think he'd do this, not him. It doesn't make sense."
"No - nothing ever ma-makes sense any-anymore," Meilani choked out, clinging onto Scott's black t-shirt that he had thrown on just before Malia had showed up at the house. Just the thought of the coyote sent a burning anger through Meilani that kept getting drowned by the weighing emotion of pure betrayal and depression.
She had never felt like this before. Where she couldn't even begin to find the air in her lungs or to find the end of the tears that soaked her cheeks. This was a way more intense emotion than when she was worrying over Stiles and her anxiety over the small thought of him never coming home. Now he somehow broke out of a psychiatric ward and cheated?
Even though only one half of the twins really believed that Stiles did anything with Malia on his own accord - if he'd done anything at all - both of their hearts still weighed heavy in their chest. Meilani because her heart was just shattered into a million pieces and Scott because he knew something wasn't right, but he wouldn't be able to convince Meilani of that.
Not when the answer to Scott's question wasn't exactly easy to point out unless you really knew Stiles. The only person who could figure it out was too distraught to even comprehend anything past the words of him being warmed up by Malia while in Eichen.

It took a bit of convincing and a lot of helping Meilani even move herself from the floor, Scott had finally gotten Meilani to become okay enough to go to Kira's and talk to her about both the sword and the photo that Malia and Stiles found. He snuck the stick of photos of Meilani and Stiles into his back pocket so he could keep trying to figure out what was off. He just knew it was something and it was right there on the tip of his tongue. It just wouldn't stick out at the moment and it bothered him because he wanted to prove to Meilani that he was right. That Stiles didn't do anything and would never do anything to hurt her.
Meilani had all but begged Scott to stop at the Stilinski household before they went to Kira which was on the way anyway. She couldn't sit with the necklace around her neck after she read that letter, she just couldn't. It was like a constant reminder of what used to be. She needed to get it off and she wasn't keeping it in her room.
So Meilani had leapt up to Stiles' bedroom window, even though Noah was still not back yet, and placed the necklace and her pillow down on the bed with a note that was something along the lines of her telling Stiles to call Malia his "little moon" now instead of her. She barely even registered what she wrote, her whole body numb to everything and she was pretty much moving like she was having an outer body experience.
Unfortunately for Meilani, she wasn't exactly good at masking the emotions on her face because Kira had questioned what was wrong the second her and Scott stepped into the Yukimura house. Scott had just shook his head to not ask any questions and held up the two items that he had mentioned to Kira in the text message he sent her before he and Meilani arrived.
"This looks just like me," Kira noted, running her fingers gently over the woman's face that stared up at her from the photo. "This has to be my grandmother."
Scott glanced over at Meilani who was leant against Kira's bedroom wall, looking totally spaced out and not in the room with he and Kira. Her body was physically there, but it was obvious her mind wasn't there and he decided he'd take over the whole conversation so he could let Meilani try to work out her inner battle.
"You remember how I told you about Malia? She's the last one who saw Stiles at Eichen House. This picture and this sword. They found it with a body buried in a wall. The same backwards five that the Oni placed on you, Meilani, the twins, Lydia and Derek was on the wall. It sounds like it all goes back to your family. Your grandma. Your mom."
Before Kira could offer any input, her phone buzzed on the bed between her and Scott. She unlocked it to read whatever message she had received and an audible gasp left her lips, alerting both McCalls.
"What is it?" Scott questioned worriedly, noticing the fear that took over Kira's face.
"My dad."

Meilani burst into the high school with Scott and Kira in tow as they rushed through the hallways to get to Mr. Yukimura's classroom. Mrs. Yukimura had sent Kira a text to bring some kind of herb with her and vaguely mentioned something about Stiles, which Meilani tried to ignore for the time being since his name alone sent a shockwave of pain to her heart.
The three teens skidded to a stop outside Mr. Yukimura's classroom where he was collapsed on his knees next to his desk with Mrs. Yukimura, rubbing soothing circles into his back as he continued to choke on whatever was in his mouth.
"Kira, did you bring it?" Mrs. Yukimura questioned and took the small bottle that Kira held out to her.
"You going to tell me what it is?"
"Reishi," Mrs. Yukimura quickly responded, screwing off the lid and shoving a small bit into Mr. Yukimura's mouth.
"You're giving Dad magic mushrooms?!"
Mr. Yukimura began to cough around the reishi and he grabbed the tissue that Mrs. Yukimura held out to him, spitting out a wad of black goo into the tissue. His wheezes and coughs suddenly stopped and the two Yukimura girls helped the man to his feet while Scott and Meilani stood to the side.
Meilani frowned as she took in Mr. Yukimura's face that was getting color back into it instead of the purplish-blue that was beginning to take over his face when they first arrived. She fiddled with the sleeve of her hoodie and chewed on the inside of her lips, not knowing what to think at the moment. "So . . . Stiles did this?"
"He wanted the last kaiken," Mrs. Yukimura explained, holding up what looked like a tiny black dagger blade without the hilt. "I've kept this near me ever since your boyfriend disappeared."
"Ex-boyfriend now," Meilani mumbled and ignored the look that Scott shot her at her statement.
Scott knew that his sister was hurting over the note, but he couldn't understand why she wasn't as confused as he was. She would have been the one person that Scott thought wouldn't even hesitate to question the note. Why was she believing it the way she was? It didn't make sense, just like the note didn't. Was he the only one thinking straight right now?
"Mom, you need to talk to us, about everything," Kira pleaded.
Meilani sighed and retrieved the black and white photo from her hoodie pocket and held it up for Mrs. Yukimura to see.
Mrs. Yukimura's face dropped in shock and she reached out to take the photo from Meilani, gripping the photo tight in her hands as she stared down at it with a distant look on her face. "Where did you get this? This is me."
Scott blinked in confusion as he eyed the older Yukimura woman. There had been a date printed on the back photo - 1943. If that was Mrs. Yukimura, she'd be a shriveled up, white haired old woman. Not a beautiful forty-year-old looking woman. "If that's you, then you would have to be like ninety-years old."
"Closer to nine-hundred."
Kira let out a long breath, looking completely overwhelmed by the statement. "Okay, wow, yeah . . . sure. Dad, how old are you?"
Mr. Yukimura - whose face finally returned back to a normal color fully - smiled in amusement at his daughter. "Forty-three, but I've been told I look mid-thirties."
"You look amazing for nine-hundred," Meilani mused, smiling the best she could even though it didn't necessarily meet her eyes. Hell, she barely even felt her face twitch with the action.
Kira slowly held up the sword that Malia and Stiles found to her mom, signaling for her to take it. She took it gently from her daughter and walked over to Mr. Yukimura's desk with the three teens following behind her. She removed the sword from its sheath to reveal a stub of a sword while a bunch of shattered pieces fell out from the sheath onto the top of the wooden desk.
"The blade was shattered the last time it was used."
"When was that?" Kira questioned, looking from the shattered pieces and over to her mom.
"1943 . . . against a Nogitsune."
Meilani tilted her head as her head swam with way too many thoughts and ideas. It pounded through her skull like a hammer and she couldn't even begin to make sense of any of them since her head was still fogged up with her lingering intense emotions. "Wait, so . . . this has happened before?"
"Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it," Mr. Yukimura replied cryptically.
"Where did it come from?" Scott spoke up next, scratching the back of his neck as his face morphed into one of deep thought. It was obvious he was having a hard time grasping all of this like Meilani and Kira.
"It was an internment camp during World War II. In Oak Creek. Not too far from here," Mrs. Yukimura replied.
Meilani furrowed her eyebrows and looked over to Mr. Yukimura in confusion since he had previously told Isaac and Allison that there was no such thing. That the odd voicemails she had gotten the night Stiles went missing the first time. "Wait, you told Isaac and Allison that there was no internment camp at Oak Creek."
Mr. Yukimura leant his hands on the desk and exhaled heavily. "I did, but that was because Allison's family has a certain history of violence. I didn't know if she could be trusted. There was a camp, yes. All the records were erased."
"They covered it up," Mrs. Yukimura elaborated.
"When I was a grad student . . . " Mr. Yukimura trailed off, opening up the top drawer of his desk and pulled out a small black journal. "My passion project, actually more like an obsession, was trying to dig up the truth on Oak Creek. It's how I met your mother, Kira."
Kira picked up one of the black and white photos from the small stack that rested inside the journal. The twins glanced over her shoulder to see a photo of a man with a severely burned up face that almost made him recognizable laid on a white pillow with a doctor on either side of him. It reminded Meilani of Deadpool's true face beneath his red mask.
Meilani's eyes slowly drifted up from the photo and over to Mrs. Yukimura, a bad feeling settling in her stomach. "So, where did the Nogitsune come from?"
"Isn't it obvious yet? It came from me."
The room had gone into a tense silence after that admission and the twins kept their mouths shut, thinking it best if the Yukimuras work out that issue without their input. Meilani was a bit pissed off that Mrs. Yukimura was the reason that this Nogitsune was currently inside her boyfriend and was making him sick. She still didn't know exactly how the woman even brought the Nogitsune out in the first place, but that didn't mean Meilani wasn't going to sit silently in her annoyance.
Mrs. Yukimura fumbled with the fragmented pieces of the sword on the desk while Kira stood scarily silent next to her while the twins took seats in the front row of desks. She eventually glanced up to her daughter with a pleading gaze. "Kira, I need your help on this. There isn't much time. This is something that needs to be done in the daylight."
Kira crossed her arms and shook her head, not sparing her mother a glance. "Not until you tell us everything. Stiles' life is on the line here if haven't exactly grasped that yet."
"Tell them, Noshiko. Tell them what they need to know," Mr. Yukimura instructed his wife, not leaving any room for arguments.
Mrs. Yukimura stuck her tongue into her cheek and turned to face Meilani with a narrowed gaze which Meilani shot right back at her. A sudden feeling of intense annoyance erupting in Meilani's chest when she locked eyes with her. "Wolves and foxes tend not to get along. Not just in fables and stories."
Mr. Yukimura shot his wife a look that she couldn't even see to relax and try to see past the fact that Meilani was an alpha. An alpha that could probably rip her head from her shoulders if she wanted to. "But allies, however unlikely, should be welcomed. Especially in times of war, Noshiko."
Mr. Yukimura's words seemed to have some weight on Mrs. Yukimura's mind because she had jumped into the story of how she was in the Oak Creek camp. How she had fallen in love with one of the army medics at the camp and he would help her sneak supplies to her and the other people that was kept in a summer camp type of cabin with multiple bunk beds lined against the walls in the room. Obviously, their relationship had to be kept secret and Mrs. Yukimura would sneak out to go see him when no one was looking.
Kira let out a sound of disgust and annoyance, waving her hands around to stop her mom from talking about the kiss that her and her little army friend exchanged. "We don't want to hear your Casablanca story! We want to know how to save Stiles."
"I'm trying to tell you," Mrs. Yukimura argued.
"No, you're trying to stall," Meilani noted, noticing the way the sun outside was beginning to make its descent in the sky. "Once the light goes away, the Oni are gonna come for him again, aren't they?"
"Your boyfriend is gone, Meilani."
Before Meilani could open her mouth to correct Mr. Yukimura, he glanced between the two. "No, you don't know that for sure. Now, something happened with Stiles back in Eichen that I know for a fact didn't happen." He fumbled in his pocket for the photo of Meilani and Stiles and holding up the note end of it. "He left Meilani this note and I think it's another one of his tricks. I know her emotions were spiked and she's been more angry lately because Stiles is her anchor and reins in her emotions. However, I know Stiles loves her way too much to do what this note is saying he did."
Mrs. Yukimura's eyes narrowed in on the note and she took the photo from Scott, her eyes blinking for a moment. Something about the note seemed to stand out to her as she flipped the note around for Meilani to look at. Was everyone just trying to make her look her demons in the face? "Does Stiles ever sign his notes with three x's? That's not a very American thing to do . . . and the only American I knew did that back in the day was . . . "
Meilani's eyes widened as she took the photo back from Mrs. Yukimura and really took in the note this time, not noticing the way the woman had gone eerily silent for a second as she got lost in her thoughts. He never signed with three x's before his name . . . never even used that form of ending. He would always draw a little heart next to his name and dot the "i" in his name with a small heart. He always said he wanted to try and express his love for her, even if it was in the form of a letter and he always connected that to his hearts.
It was another Void mind game . . and she actually fell for it. How could she be so stupid? It was hard to suppress the cry of frustration that wanted to escape. She was so pissed at herself for letting Void get into her head again. He used the fact that Stiles hadn't been around her enough lately to keep her werewolf anger suppressed and it constantly raged inside her now. That anger made her blind to everything obvious.
Like the fact that Stiles would never cheat on Meilani.
"Void . . . " Meilani whispered, staring down at the note that was so perfectly in Stiles' handwriting that, to anyone outside the group, would have believed it to be a real note written by Stiles.
Who knew Scott would be the one person to find the flaw when it was usually Meilani that was so good at depicting everything Stiles did?
Meilani barely heard the rest of Mrs. Yukimura's story in the camp as her brain throbbed. She got glimpses of the story. Like how her and her army medic boyfriend caught one of the head doctors trying to sell medicine on the black market. How everyone in the camp was getting pneumonia except her because Kitsune didn't get injured or sick. They had amazing healing abilities like wolves, but they had the added factor of never getting sick like humans.
Then came the night of the riot when the people at the camp finally had enough and went on a riot to the army men and medics. The woman that Mrs. Yukimura was close to at the camp, Satomi, had been bitten by a wolf and she had been getting migraines once a month as she tried to suppress the shift that wanted so desperately to come out. It took one action to really tip her over the edge and shift, throwing a flaming molotov at Mrs. Yukimura's boyfriend and then Mrs. Yukimura was shot at twice.
The same burnt to hell man from the photos.
"The gunfire nearly killed me," Mrs. Yukimura informed, finally snapping Meilani fully out of her thoughts. "I don't know how many bullets made their into my body, but I fought every one of them. It left my body so weak, my heartbeat so low it appeared as though I was dead. Even then I was still better of than Rhys. His screams could be heard throughout Eichen House, echoing through every room, every hallway. He died in agony. The doctor, it seems, had also sold the morphine."
Mrs. Yukimura took a moment to breathe, as her voice was beginning to choke up at the memory of her previous love dying in such a tragic and hurtful way. She sniffled quietly and blinked the tears away from her eyes. "Merrick and Hayes were given the task of getting rid of all the bodies, both American and Japanese-American. They were transferring Dr. Liston out as well, stationing him somewhere else. They were covering it up. The doctor, Merrick, Hayes, and all of the others. They were gonna get away murder. By chance, I guess, Rhys' body had been put next to mine."
It was quiet for a long moment as Mrs. Yukimura turned away from the group, her face being lit up by the setting sun outside. The sun being a tick time bomb for little time they had left until the Oni showed up for Stiles. Now that Meilani wasn't completely riddled with immense sadness over whatever she thought Stiles did while in Eichen, she felt her determination come back and she needed to find him. Quick.
"I wanted the soldiers and the administration of the camp to be punished for their crimes, but I knew the clock was ticking. I was going to lose my chance. They were going to burn me with the others. I couldn't fight back with my body weakened and still healing. I could barely move. I was going to die. With time slipping through my fingers, I knew I was making a terrible decision, but I could not die knowing they would get away. So I called out to our ancestors for Kitsune-tsuki. Possession by a fox spirit. For a powerful Nogitsune, one that feeds of chaos, strife and pain, to take control of my weakened body, imbue it with power and use it as a weapon."
Meilani's face fell as she realized that the Nogitsune had one been inside Mrs. Yukimura. Her mind was still reeling over the fact that that Mrs. Yukimura would go so far as to use an evil spirit to kill off the guards. She understood that the camp was definitely like a prison and that the doctors deserved to get theirs for ruining so many innocent lives. However, using an evil spirit that could have obviously taken over and done things that only happened in horror films, should have been a reason for her not to do it.
Cue Meilani's annoyance with the woman to raise just the slightest bit more. Sorry, Kira.
"But calling on a trickster spirit is a dangerous thing. They can have a very dark sense of humor."
Meilani scoffed and waved around the photo with the note on the back of it for Mrs. Yukimura to see, hoping that it made her feel guilty for bringing this damn spirit out and causing problems for everyone. "Yeah, thanks for that, by the way. I could have told you that."
Mrs. Yukimura ignored Meilani's snarky comment and let out a shaky breath. "Because while the Nogitsune did come to possess someone, it wasn't me. It took over Rhys' body instead."
"What happened?" Scott gaped, sounding a bit upset with the woman as well for the spirit. He tried to rein it in, though, so he wouldn't upset Kira who looked more hurt than the both of them did.
"My body was beginning to heal and I managed to pull myself up from the ground, but it was too late. It brought chaos, strife and more pain than you can imagine. I had to find him and I had to be the one to stop him," Mrs. Yukimura concluded and glanced nervously out the window to the setting sun. She turned back to Kira and the McCall twins with a new look in her eyes that Meilani couldn't rad. "Kira, night is coming. You must hurry."
Mrs. Yukimura and Kira both set to quickly line the pieces back up for the sword while the twins stood from their desks to watch the two work. Meilani wasn't sure what placing the pieces back together would do. Not like they had glue or anything to really make them stay together and the blade would probably shatter again before they could use it.
"Rhys said coup de foudre before he passed away if I stabbed through him. The literal translation is a bolt of lightning. In French, it can also mean love at first sight," Mrs. Yukimura explained to the three teens, finally placing the last fragment into place on the desk. "But a bolt of lightning happens to be exactly what we need right now."
"For what?" Kira questioned, tilting her head at her mom in confusion.
"Exercising the Nogitsune from Rhys' body shattered the katana, but you can put it back together."
"Why don't you just do it yourself?"
"Because I am not a thunder Kitsune," Mrs. Yukimura said, earning shocked looks from the twins and Kira. The new information seemed to weigh heavily on Kira as she didn't know what to do with it now. She barely even understood everything about the Kitsune as it was. "Do you trust me?"
Kira scoffed softly and slapped a hand to her side, tugging her other hand through her hair out of stress. "I just found out that you're nine-hundred years old and that you're the reason this Nogitsune is alive and in my friend. I don't think I'm ever gonna trust you again."
Mrs. Yukimura's face fell at Kira's response and Meilani could smell the sadness that wafted into the air afterwards. Any other time, Meilani would feel bad for the mother, but not after everything she'd just learned. It probably wasn't right, but Meilani blamed her for everything that had happened to Stiles up to this point after he started getting sick and the Oni appeared. If she hadn't done what she did, then maybe Stiles wouldn't have had to suffer for the past few weeks and would be perfectly okay again like Meilani and Allison were.
"Just trust me on this," Mrs. Yukimura begged quietly, taking Kira's hand into her own and hovering it over the blade.
Kira's hand had barely reached a few inches above the blade before a bright white light of lightning zig-zagged through the broken fragments of the blade. The sound of clattering was heard as the fragments all began to meld together and return the katana back to perfect condition.
Mrs. Yukimura smiled at her daughter proudly who let out a mix between a laugh and a scoff of disbelief that she had actually done that. Meilani and Scott both stared at Kira in awe, especially Scott who looked like he just fell even more in love with Kira. The older Yukimura lifted the katana into her hands and held it at the hilt, holding it out for Kira to take.
"It's yours now."
Kira stared at the katana warily and shook her head, taking a step back in fear and panic. "What if I don't want it?"
"You need it," Mrs. Yukimura countered, tossing the katana into the air and Kira instantly caught it. She twirled it through the air without a second thought and her eyes blew wide when she took a stance with it before her, blade pointed away from her. "See? It gives you balance. My power is now yours, Kira. If the Oni can't stop Stiles, you have to. The same as I did." Her drifted over to Meilani for a brief second and she almost looked pained to say her next works. "Maybe find a wolf and her twin to help you out."
Meilani's eyes narrowed at the woman and she crossed her arms, not feeling she really got anything besides a tragic love story. "You barely even told us anything, you realize that."
"You want to save your boyfriend? Kill him. That's the only way."
Meilani felt sick to her stomach as she pressed her hand to her stomach as her twin's hand instantly went to her shoulder. She felt the bile rising in her throat about the mere thought of having to kill Stiles. Which was a stark contrast to be about an hour ago when she wanted nothing more than to rip his head from his shoulders and do just that. Now that her anger dispersed and she really understood what was going on, Meilani couldn't even fathom the thought of killing Stiles.
If he died . . . then she died with him.
"You agree with this?" Scott barked at Mr. Yukimura when Meilani opened her mouth a few times to speak, but nothing came out.
Mr. Yukimura gave Scott and Meilani a sympathetic look since he knew how much Stiles meant to the both of them. As if Meilani couldn't hate Mrs. Yukimura anymore than she did right fucking then. "Sometimes, history does repeat itself, Scott."
"Only if you don't learn," Scott argued, hoping against all hope that they could save Stiles. They didn't have to kill him to save him. There was always another way . . . right?
"But sometimes even then, fate conspires against you."
Meilani's phone buzzed in her back pocket and she whipped it out to see a text from Allison, furrowing her eyebrows at the text.
ALI ❤️
Derek's loft
Meilani clutched the phone in her hand, realizing that the quickly typed message was something having to do with Stiles. She chewed on the inside of her lip as determination coursed through her again. A way better feeling than the betrayal she felt before.
"No, there has to be way to save Stiles. There has to be. I won't stop until I find out what it is."
AUTHORS NOTE
Hi hey hello
So . . . that happened. I was actually going to drag the whole note thing out into the next episode also, but with Scott knowing something was up and how Meilani is with Stiles, it didn't feel right having her truly believe for long that Stiles actually did anything with Malia. Our boi is too in love with Meilani as Scott said.
Also, please don't hate on Meilani for not putting it together right away like Scott had. I know she's in love with him and she knows pretty much all of Stiles quirks and tells and his life. However, you have to understand that Meilani isn't fully in control of ANYTHING right now because her main anchor is practically gone and hasn't been around enough to have her emotions fully be in check. Hence, her anger is becoming a bit hard to control now. So when Meilani read that note, she only read the part him and Malia, not even realizing how he singed it off in the first place. Her anger and constant fear of not having hope, clouded her mind and she just broke. Then the pain and emotions were so intense, she practically had a numb kind of state where she didn't feel anything and couldn't think straight. Like Scott said, he's the only thinking straight right now.
Void knew exactly how to get her and he did. Just didn't do too good of a job since he messed up with the singing off bit. Thank God for Scott or Meilani would have been ripping heads off.
