You turned on your sides lazily only to let the the violent morning sunrays to trouble your sleep. Waking up to skies lit by the wintry sun is a sort of visual poetry. Sleeping peacefully in your bed, you were cradling a pillow to your chest. The sun was beaming through the blinds causing you to stir, & groan due the violent yet fresh beams falling directly on your face.

However peaceful sleep was not in your luck today, as you heard someone constantly calling out your name without a break, causing irritation to seep into you early morning, feeling too wasted to even open your eyes.

"....Y/n! Wake up you sleepy ass!!! Do you want punch in late on the very first day of your work?! C'mon get up, it's no time for sleep, you'd it enough!" You moaned grumpily at her worrying remark, before the situation sinked in your head.

Shit!

You immediately sat up on the bed like a spring being freed from a box, your eyes bulged out of their sockets as you realised that you slept longer than usual today. But before you could furthermore bring yourself to your entire senses, you froze.

Oh no.

Jungkook...?

Where's he?

And how the hell you ended up in your bed?

You grew restless as the train of memories of last night clouded your thoughts. You peered at Nia with demented eye, not sure if she was aware about Jungkook or not.

" Have you seen Jungkook this morning?" You asked dubiously.

"Yeah, he's preparing breakfast, why?" Nia replied nonchalantly as she tidied up your bed.

You were flabbergasted.

Huh?!

"Really?" You asked Nia once more, skeptical of her answer.

"Yes, God! What happened? Why are inquiring about him this early in the morning? Did you got a nightmare or what?" Nia chuckled as she changed the pillow covers.

You groaned out feeling uneasy in your head, as it pounded hard.

"Hey! You ok?" Nia approached you with worried eyes.

Before you could reply, the words died on your tongue as you watched eerily at Jungkook, who happened to step in your room that very moment, his hand occupied with a tray of scrumptious breakfast.

He gave you a bunny grin, as he wished you good morning.

"Y/n, what's with you? Why are you staring at me like that?" Jungkook shyly remarked, as he rubbed his nape embarassed.

You choked on thin air. Jungkook was completely fine, & in one piece infront of you, leaving no room for doubts in your banged head.

But still, you jumped out of your bed, finding your way towards him, making him gaze at you with perplexed eyes. As you reached him, you quickly turned him around on his feet, checking every ounce of him with your doubtful eyes, but to your amazement, he was completely fit & fine.

" Y/n, has anything happened?" Nia seemed bothered by your strange behaviour early this morning.

After fully assured with your inspection, you stepped back from Jungkook as you searched his face for any sort of clue.

"Jungkook, were you out last night? " You asked out of nowhere, startling him.
"N-no...why ?" He replied shortly, as he matched his gaze with Nia, confused.
"Umm, I think I saw you last night outside the house, chatting with someone." You replied grimly.

"No! That must be not me Y/n. I was inside my room entire night, playing video games." He disclosed.

You'd nothing rather than just to nod your head. But you were damn sure that it was Jungkook who was apparently choked by him last night. You were sure of that, & moreover to your realisation, it was Jungkook who'd grabbed you from behind & covered your face with some sort of anaesthetic sprayed handkerchief, cuz while it happened, Kim Taehyung was standing infront of you in all his glory.

Your stomach churned as his loathesome smirking face flashed before your eyes, his thoughts were enough to make you weak in your knees.

" Y/n, if you're not feeling well then just stay at home. You look pale." Nia suggested as she ran her hand through your hair tenderly, somehow silencing down all the raging questions in your muddled up head.

"Umm, no. I'm fine. I think I'd probably a nightmare. That's it." You mumbled, drown in your thoughts, as you contemplated what if it was actually once again a nightmare.

That wouldn't be a surprise though, cuz you were getting his nightmares a lot these days, & your mind being gravely affected by his thoughts actually caused you to dream that he would hurt you as well as your dear ones. Or, perhaps it was just your hallucination, but that wouldn't reason out as who made you faint yesterday & how you woke up in your bed without a single scratch on your body?

This whole thing was driving you insane, as you growled devastated.

Nia gave you a concerned smile, as she exited your room perturbed by your strange behaviour, her eyes lingering at you.

You decided that you would let these damned things aside as for now, & get ready to reach your office on time before it got too late, but still you couldn't refrain the back of your mind to play the last night events again & again in your puzzled head. Pails of questions floating in your fucked up brain.

What if...Jungkook was lying? But then, why would he, right?

Time Skip

Silence is not something that would bother you in general, however the thickening deafness between you both today is wailing to be sliced off.

It's not a comfortable silence, but an awkward & mysterious one, something so uncommon between you & Jungkook.

As you side eyed him driving peacefully without a word on his lips, & his gaze fixed on the road ahead, you were beyond disturbed.

You gulped hard as your gaze fell on his exposed tattooed arms, the veins popping in & out every now & then, as he controlled the steering wheel, your urge to strike a conversation becoming bold.

"Jungkook..."
"Y/n..."

"Oh, you were about say something..." he remarked, without tearing his eyes off road.
"So were you...you go first."
"N-no...you first." He stuttered.
"Erm." your eyebrows knitted together, as you realised that something was occupying his head, not strange of his obvious unusual self today.

"Well...I wanted to talk about...my last night dr-" before you could complete your sentence, the words died on your tongue as he turned on the music system abruptly in midst of your convo.

" Let's hear to some music, it's your first day today at the office, you need to relax." He said with forced stretch of his lips, giving you a strained smile, as you noticed a twitch in his eyebrows.

"Jungkook, please turn it off, we need to talk." You said sternly, sure that something was definitely off with him.

With a gruff brake, the car roared to still, your body advancing ahead startled.
" I can't take you further from here, you'll have to walk down from here as the office employees shouldn't know that we're related somehow other than being colleagues." He said, avoiding your piercing questioning look.

You're damn sure, he's definitely avoiding the topic, but you wouldn't let it slip off that easy, with a huff & annoyed sigh you stepped out of his car & slammed the car door, walking your way out of the eerie air, not even turning to spare him a glance.

Time Skip

Huffing & panting you shuttled through the main gates, the spurt of adrenaline surging through your body as the thought of reporting late on the very first day of your job haunted your mind.

Besides, you're only 5 mins away from final call, & yet you hadn't even got your employee Id.

Your stiletto's veered as you reached the employees desk to collect your card.
" Hello, Good Morning. Myself Y/n Lee I'm here to collect my ID."
"Ah sure, here it is. I was waiting for you only to come, thought that you wouldn't turn up today. Please hurry, you're already late." The kind old desk keeper informed. You thanked her gratefully & swerved on your heels, to the biometrics lobby.

"Aish..." you heaved a sigh as you felt victorious that you made it on time, you glided your hand back from biometric machine, as it scanned your card.

"Welcome, Miss Y/n. Have a nice day ahead." The sudden robotic voice startled you as you gasped a little.

"I hope so too." You murmured as you took your Id card & slinged it around your neck.

You're beyond stupefied to let your eyes get indulged in the extravagant & lavish office arena. Everything looked like worth a million bucks, even the employees who swayed on their feet to their respective destinations, exuding the multiple of confident aura & competitive spirit. You were not disheartened by the fact that you somewhere yourself looked like a lost puppy whilst everybody knew what they want, or lashed by such magnificent work atmosphere, but rather it assured you that you're at the right place & would surely get a lot to learn.

A tap on your shoulder took you out of your reverie, as you looked around.
"Hey Y/n, you're here, welcome on your first day of office."

"Ooh, Ariel. Hey, & thanks." I said as she adorned a warm smile on her face.
"Well Jungkook especially sent me around to help you, he knew you might be a bit lost on your first day. He quite cares for you, I see." She said with a hearty remark, as she winked teasingly.

"Uh, that brat...he even embarasses me here." You said with a chuckle, " Well, it's nothing like that, we're just friends, he's like my younger bro." You said with a flick of your tongue.

" I see, ok come with me, I'll show you around & accompany you to your floor." Ariel offered.
"Yup, sure."

------------------

Y/n POV

"Here's your floor, Gn. Secretary might be waiting for you, go & rock on your first day." Ariel said boosting some confidence in me. I gave her a warm hug back, as I stepped out of the lift.

"Join my friends in office cafe during lunch, I'll be waiting." I heard Ariel announce, as the lift's door slided close.
I nodded & turned my head to look for myself.

This surely is heaven of a place... I thought, everything striking my vision, so much so I couldn't get my eyes off.

"Ahem..." A sharp toned female voice cleared it's throat.

I quickly turned around upon hearing a voice summoning me.
I'll have to admit, the very moment my eyes met with a pair of kohl-smeared gaze, my brows furrowed, enough to show my displeasure.

An exceptionally tanned beauty in her mid twenties stood few metres apart from me, as our eyes scanned each other's presence. My sight immediately fell on her pretty much exposed cleavage, showing off from her buttoned satin navy blue shirt, which seemed to struggle more than my own existence, she wore a black pencil velvet skirt which hugged her curves too well, what I mean from too well, is quite too much...enough explicit for office wear.

Her aura exuded dark vibes, as she grinned at me with an eerie glint in her eyes. Taking a few cat-leged steps towards me, she narrowed her eyes, as if I belonged to some trash, not meant to be there before her slick eyes.

"So it's you afterall....Tch! What was it again...um?" She questioned with a nonchalant look.

"What?" I asked, a little annoyed by her sultry & mean personality.

"Your name?!" She snapped abruptly leaning into me, pointing her fingers towards my face, as I stumbled back a bit.
"It's Y/n." I chirped, looking straight into her eyes.
"Oh, yeah. Whatever. Follow me." She said with no interest in her voice, as she swerved on her heels, leading my way.

"Wait a sec. Who are you btw?" I asked, authority lacing my tone. I was offended by her attitude, it didn't matter whatever post she held in the company, but I wouldn't let repulsive people like her treat me this way.

It seemed to take her by surprise, as she quickly turned around to look at me with baffled expression dawning her not-so-pleasant face.

"Excuse me. Did you say anything?" She said with a twitch of her eyebrows.

I donned a plastic smile, as I replied, "Nothing. Just asking how did you even ended up here?"
Her eyes widened, as she took hurried steps towards me.
"How dare you talk to me like that-"

"JANE!!!" an old-gruff voice called out, I tried to look behind her to search for the owner of the voice.

"Did I mentioned you that your presence was expected somewhere else right now & not here...?" A woman in her 50's walked in, her personality firm & authoriative in real sense.

The girl immediately bowed 90 degrees so as to apologise, " I'm sorry Mrs Jeanne, I happened to run into our new employee today," she said giving me a dirty side look, " and, I must say, she's so impolite-" she tried to rant, but before she could continue, was interrupted, "Again Jane? Did I ask you for your opinion, which is not at all needed." the women said folding her arms above her chest, her eyes showing disinterest.

Her lips pursed into a thin line, as she gave me a last disgusted glance, before bowing the lady & left afterwards.

"How do I even manage to always stumble into people like these?" I mumbled rubbing my temples, extremely drained out.

" Don't worry, you'll walk into plenty of people like her here, just pay no heed to them." The voice of the lady asserted, as I remembered she's still there & yet I'm chattering to myself.

I bowed immediately to show my respect, as she seemed to be a much respected personality here.
"It's Y/n, right?"
I nodded.
"C'mon, follow me, I'll be accompanying you to your cabin." She said before taking her steps towards the glass door corridor, my own feet following her instinctively.
"Btw, myself Park Jeanne, I'm the Sr. Manager & Head Auditor here. I got to know that company has hired you as their new Legal Advisor with very high hopes." She said with a tint of mockery in her voice.
"Yes, Mrs Jeanne. I hope I'll not let down our company's hope anytime soon." I said with the same amount of mockery as her, earning a astonished gaze from her, as a smile crept over her creased yet charismatic face.

"I like your attitude, I hope you contribute well to our company's growth." She replied as she opened the tinted-glass door of a cabin, which I supposed as my cabin.
"Here's your work station, I hope you like the place, & since legal matters come with a lot of mental & emotional dealings, the beautiful cityscape from 80 feet above, will help dissipate some of your stress." She remarked as she knocked the glass wall with her fingers, the wall beyond which a breathtaking expanse of skyscrapers & tall buildings in the daylight gave solace.

" Make yourself comfortable, I'll take my leave now, there's the telecom that can be dialed if you need anything. The rest you'll know by yourself in no time." She cheered as she gave a squeeze on my shoulder. I nodded heartily, giving her a warm grin, & soon she left.

Inhaling a deep breathe, I felt a strong intoxicating smell lingering in the air, tingling my nostrils. I shoot my eyes open immediately, confusion clouding my head. It seemed someone had been here before I came in, it wasn't difficult to realise, as it smelt of overpowering male cologne.
I took out a room spray from my purse, which I'd especially brought for my office, as it is always said that relaxing smell helps to cope with stress, so I sprayed it all around the cabin, but it did little to suppress the intense fragrance. At last I decided that I should better let it go, it'll subside by itself.

Cracking my knuckles, I finally sat in my armchair, as my eyes laid on a pile of files waiting for my inspection. These files were the records of previous legal matters related to company's financial & business disputes, some of which were resolved, however most of the cases were pending.
It seemed the previous legal advisor was not very compatible & consistent in his/her work. Fragments of many files were missing & most of them were scattered over different directories.
Such a headache!
It took me hours of focussed hard work, to get all the files segregated as per records, forcing me internally to curse the previous legal advisor.
There's no place left for doubt that the files were mishandled & many of the evidences has been vandalised, either deliberately or not, that's beyond my scope.
I took out my laptop & saved all the documents on my pen drive, the special cases that required my immediate attention securing top of the records.
As I briefly went through all the files, highlighting the important evidences & noteworthy key points, my eyes caught the sight of a casket grey file, which felt untouched for years, tucked securely between a couple of files.

I extracted the file out, turning it's pages to scan the details, my eyes widened in epiphany as it appeared to me that the file belonged to the previous legal advisors, their resumes, CV, & work ratings along with their strong & weak points as well as the reason for their expulsion & resignation.

I believe that these details can somewhere help me improve my work capabilities, eliminate shortcomings & also become aware of company's demands. I saved it as well & finally my inspection was done.
I also printed out their hard copies just in case, for further review in future.

After wrapping up, I decided it'd be better if I took some time off, as it was already afternoon & I felt famished due to hunger, my gut growling.

As soon as I stood up from my seat, a knock on my cabin's entrance made me immediately retreat back, as I permitted the person to come in.

Not again.GOD.

With a clenched & reddened face, Jane entered my office. Her eyes shooting dangers into my seated body, she bit her lip for a while as her hideous eyes scanned the surrounding, I cleared my throat to gain her attention, popping her out of her daydream.

"Welcome to my cabin Ms.Jane, I wonder what got you here." I said with sarcastic grin adoring my face.

"The CEO wants to have a word with you. That's it. Don't flatter yourself that I've especially come here to meet you or whatever." She scowled rolling her eyes agressively.

I chuckled turning my head to the sight of lit cityscape, as I replied savagely,
"Keep rolling your eyes, maybe you'll find some brain back there." I smirked.
She gasped at my bitter response, her mouth fell agape.

I walked to her, adjusting my suit, as her eyes followed my every body movement. I went near her, leaning to whisper lowly, " You better keep a safe distance from me, you don't know me yet, I'm not someone you should mess with. Got it?" I retreated back from her, only to be greeted by her big saucer pan eyes, to which I just responded with a sweet yet deceiving smile.

"You may leave now." I reminded her, breaking her train of thoughts.

She huffed out, fuming with anger as she stomped her way out of my cabin, not even turning to spare me a glance.

"Bitch." I mumbled, bursting into a fit of laughter, as I couldn't believe that I actually got her scared by my words.
It's gonna be fun, I guess.

However, as soon as her words echoed in my head, I froze in realisation.
The CEO....oh man, he got me, shit!
He just wants to meet his new employee, right. What's there to be worried about, except I don't let down my own self infront of him, everything would be fine, I suppose.

Why do I always underestimate myself? God Dammit!

I peered at my watch, as I dashed out of my cabin in a jiffy, " I better not embarass myself in front of him, on the very first day, right? I'll not. Y/n, you got this, yeah?" I kept muttering to myself, as I continued to walk hurriedly.

My feet halted momentarily, as I sighed looking at the annoying face again, seated behind a desk outside the CEO's office. If ill-fate had a face, it would surely be her.

It appeared to me that she's designated as the CEO's Personal Assistant, making me cringe badly, to even think of her as the PA, her personality completely opposite of her job.
No wonder, her wearing such seductive dress, had something to do with this. My eyes narrowed, turning judgemental as I caught a glimpse of her, looking back at me.
I turned my gaze away from her, as I stood in front of the entrance of CEO's office, my heart thumping against my chest involuntarily, as my breath quickened. What's happening Y/n? Be brave, you got this. I consoled myself.

With cold stiff hands, I softly knocked at the door, waiting for permission to enter, my eyes again travelling to Jane, who's apparently still drilling holes in me through her spiteful eyes.

A muffled voice of come in gained back my attention, as I bit nervously on my tongue. Gently pushing the door, I entered into the room, a gush of same overpowering smell of male cologne knocking my senses, faltering my consciousness a little, as I grasped tightly on the metallic door knob to regain my composure.
The air was filled with overwhelming smell of cologne, mixed with the odor of cigarettes, yes you heard it right, I call it odor. Cause the smoke of cigarettes always make me want to puke.

With languid steps, I trailed forward, my hands clasped together firmly infront of me, as I gulped hard. The atmosphere is so suppressing, as if I'm being confronted for being a criminal, making me feel guttural sick. Everything seemed hazy & blurred, blanketed in the cloud of smoke.

However, I managed to get to his desk, catching a glimpse of the leather chair, it's back facing me, as the person seated on it remain hidden, only his veiny & slender fingers with a lit cigarette between them were on show.

This man has got more attractive hands than me, should I be jealous? I wondered, as I clenched my jaws over my own corrupted head. What the f*ck Y/n?

" Good Afternoon,Sir. It's Y/n. The new Legal Advisor of Kim Enterprises. I got to know that you wanted to have a word with me." I introduced myself.

It seemed as if the choking silence became more thick, as I watched a puff of smoke yet again hurl out into the air, from behind his chair. I've no idea if I should be nervous or feel awkward about the whole situation, but to be honest, kinda both.

"Hmm." A short deep honey-dripping timbre voice hummed from behind the chair, causing my stomach to flip, as chills ran down my spine.

Why this voice sounds so unusually familiar?

My throat dried, at his grave response. What was this suppose to mean, I stood their in dreadful anticipation, a trickle of cold sweat oozing out from my forehead.

"How's your first day here?" He finally spoke, his husky voice slicing slick through the deafening stillness.

"Good." I replied shortly, swallowing the lump in my throat, the voice sending waves of goosebumps to my entire body. I couldn't even understand myself, what was affecting me this bad, either his voice that churned my stomach or the atmosphere that was crushing me unbearably.

" I got a pile of files sent to your office for your review, did you-" he was about to question but I beat it to him shortly, "Yes sir, I reviewed them already."

Once again, the silence overpowered the ambience. Can't he just continue to talk? I thought tensed.

"I got other pile of files sent to rest on your desk, get them reviewed by today itself, no matter..." he trailed off, his voice growing deeper than the ocean, "....if it requires you all night to finish. Get it done before you leave today. Am I clear?" His voice demanded, to me it sounded more threatening.

"Yes." I nodded, discomfort growing intense with each passing second.

I just want escape from this ominous air, otherwise I'd simply pass out here.

"Sir." His voice inserted intimidatingly, alarms blaring in my head, I forgot to address him as Sir last time.

"Yes Sir." I immediately complied.

"You may leave now." He finally announced, a wave of relief washing over me, as I immediately turned on my heels, almost making a run to the gate, ready to escape from his captivating aura, but before I could, his voice halted my feet.

"Wait a second. I said You may...not you can." His voice toned brief & menacing.

My eyeballs widened, as I gulped hard, slowly turning my head to get confronted.

"I'm sorry Sir, I-" "No need."
My words died on my tongue, as my hands fell on my sides defeated, I felt betrayed for getting this job, all because of this emotionless man, who still doesn't turnup to show me his face.

"Bring me coffee." He ordered with a click of his tongue.

It took me a few seconds to absorb his command, before it hit me what he meant. My mind was on the verge of shutting down, but now thanks to him, he's pushed the wrong button. He's getting on my nerves, I won't let him be entertained.

Ughhhhh!!!!!.... I screamed mentally.

Woah! Is he for real? Am I a joke to him? What's wrong with this man?! God, is he a jerk???

Yes, he surely is.

My brows furrowed, this man was surely testing my patience, and now I wasn't definitely left with any penny of it to keep up with his arrogant ass anymore. He's just testing my capability to check how far I can take his eccentric behaviour. Fine then, let it be. I'll have him a taste of his own medicine.

"Sorry Sir, but it's not my job to get you a coffee. I'm sure you've a PA who's assigned to tend to your personal needs." I remarked politely, though I sounded rough, loud & clear this time.

"I'll have her sent here to get you one. Thank you for your time." I snapped shortly, before stomping out of the door, surely leaving him dumbfounded.
.
.
.
.
"Well, I finally got her back to herself. Let's see where this goes, BabyGirl."

Y/n POV

I stormed out, my breathing nowhere to normal, as my heart still hammered in my chest, the smell still lingering in my head, making me feel light headed.

"Tch, CEO got her on her knees, I guess. Arrogant Bitch." I heard Jane mock from behind, as I walked away, making me halt my steps.
I turned, my eyes blaring with pent up frustration, I strolled back to her, causing her to get a little alarmed, as she fell back to her chair, her eyes popping out at my approaching figure.

I slammed 200 wons on her desk, as I hissed out, " Get your CEO a coffee, & don't forget to tell him it's a treat from his new employee."

I took a few steps ahead, when I again faced her, " And, it might be you who would go on her knees for him, don't expect others to do the same. Mind it!"
I smirked at her, before pointing my finger to her exposed cleavage.
I wouldn't bother to have a look of her blown up face.

"Such a bummer." I murmured.

------------------

Well, things aren't as straight as they seem to be. Things are going to change soon, either for better or worse, as it might be. But one thing I know for sure, that is, I'm yet again to be embarked on another rollercoaster ride, a life- thrilling or threatening journey awaits.
