Author's POV

You giddily strolled out of the ice cream parlour, holding the chilled ice creams in your hands, it gave you goosebumps as the ice over the ice cream cone slowly melted in your grasp. You made a run for it, as you feared that it might melt even before you could reach Nia & Jungkook, apparently who were waiting for you for so long, you couldn't blame though, it wasn't your fault that there was a huge hustle tonight in the ice cream shop and you had to wait in a drawn-out queue.

You let it aside afterall, as you saw them from a distance, standing by the pole under the streetlight, and better not to mention, you were darn sure, they were still bickering facing each other, a troublesome duo. You chuckled.

"What's that...?!" You murmured to yourself as you heard the faint crying of a child, coming from the adjacent alleyway, making your feet halt midway. It eventually stopped, but as soon you took another step, you again heard a loud screech with cracked up sobs coming from the same source.

Before even you could contemplate your thoughts, as usual, your body reacted much faster than you and began to pace up through the dark and mildewed alley.
Crossing the trashes and dustbins disposed on the way, you finally turned by the corner of a club, the faint cries becoming more & more clear as you neared. The loud weeping of the child made your heart pound as you hastily moved on your feet, eager to reach the child.

However, you feet halted to a stop, when you faced the broad back of a man, kneeling to a small girl, as she wailed out non-stop, her face tainted red hue due to crying. Suddenly, you flinched when the man growled loudly at the girl, making her burst into tears as she screamed frightened.

"She feels suffocated around you. She wanna die, everytime you touch her, she wants to kill herself to death, SHE HATES YOU!" The man ranted harshly at the little being.

"NOO!" the girl responded, scared to death.

"Cause you disgust her! You'll one day leave her and kick her out of your life, abandoning her on the roadside. You'll grow up, and become the same as all others. You'll throw this plastic thing in trash without a second thought, & that's why, SHE HATES YOU!" The man again growled.

Your feet stood numb, as you heard the man daunting the girl, your heart ripped apart as you witnessed the girl break down helplessly infront of the man. You couldn't believe your ears nor your eyes, as if it was even possible for a human being to be this ruthless and cold hearted. You closed your eyes, tightening your fists, as you obdurately stomped your way to the man, and as soon as he turned to face you, without a second thought, you smacked his cheeks, making his entire body stagger back and jitter.

You wheezed heavily, your blood boiling within you, as you darted your watery eyes at the girl messing her eyes out on the ground, but you were not yet done with this man, as you reached for his collar and before you could proceed furthermore, your eyes met with his burning ones, it was then you realised that this man was more than familiar to you, and that you had a long-awaited unfinished business to finish off with him.

"You...?!" You swallowed the lump in your throat. His eyes had a glint of shock as well, though he was capable enough to not let it slip on his face... replacing it with a dirty smirk, as his caramel eyes bored into yours.

Your throat dried, as your gaze remained fixated at him, his collar clenched in your first, as you gritted out aloud.
"I never knew we'll meet again, atleast not in this lifetime, are we not celebrating?" You hissed out with a plain look, as he remained cool.
"Oh yeah... we're supposed to, I think so, babygirl." His eyes glazed in moonlit night.

His unfaltering & sensible calmness truly ticked you off, as you digged your nails in his collar, slowly bringing him forward. You bothwere only inches away, when you lowly whispered to him, making him shudder slightly.

" I'm glad we met again, though I don't plan to meet you ever again, that's why we need to clear it up, I don't wanna know why you did that to me that night, but I do need to know if you have done this to many other people as well?!" You urged out desperately while pointing at the little girl. "What do you get by doing this to helpless and vulnerable people?!"

Instead of responding back, he chuckled heartedly which soon turned into a loud laugh, almost mocking.
" I'm glad someone for the first time ever accepted that you people are VULNERABLE!!" he towered dangerously, whipping out of my grasp forcefully, making me stumble.
" I don't need to tell you why I do this, who the hell you think you're whom I'm going to entertain with my intentions...you're fucking moron.!"

He bored his demon eyes in yours, as you hitched unaudibly.
" Are you not a human? Connection from some underworld or what? Or let me guess, were you like this from the very time your born?" You inched closer to take a deep look at his contemptious expression. You knew that you're pushing his buttons at the right place.

" Believe me, you're such a fucking coward that you can't even fight yourself for the right reasons...so here you're, threatening a little kid, a helpless one at that, just to keep up your attitude, to look all majestic & fierce, so that others fear you by your fake aura...tch! Let me remind you, you won't be become a powerful thing by scaring & harming innocent people... that's what we call as "Pompous fool"! You spat to him, your every word irking his boiling blood.

As he was to take a step towards you, someone came from behind, that took the bloody attention of him, as he devilishly turned his head, his stomach-churning smirk not going unnoticed by you...

" You wanna see how scary can I be? More than harming innocent people? Wanna see what a coward could do? Watch me!" He eyed you badly, biting on his lips, before turning away pretty quick, & before anyone could sense about the happening, the deafening sound of bullet shots silenced the entire arena, followed by a loud scream. You ran to the little girl quickly, sitting on the cold floor, shivering & traumatized by whole turn of events...as the girl clinged on you, tears helplessly streaming out of her eyes.

Your breath was knocked out of your lungs, as the sinister scene caught your sight...bloodshed on the floor, two dead bodies sprawled lifeless, midway across from you...a fat plump man & a beautiful young lady, all their charm soiled in dust & blood.

The man standing infront of you, turned his back to face you...his eyes blind with scandalous sins. He grinned evilly before squatting before you, as he reached for the little girl's hair curls fallin on her forehead, making the girl scoot closer in your lap, as you slipped back a little on the floor, to have a distance from the heartless creature, your heart pounding in your chest, the fright seething out from your eyes, that he might harm you & the little girl.

"Who are you?" You grumped out somehow, without stuttering, though your inside screaming for help.

The police sirens suddenly echoed through the entire area, & from the adjacent street...your life coming back as you hastily gazed at the person.

He smirked yet again, before standing up & running flawlessly in the opposite of the street, sparing you a last glance with a demon smile.

You heard him from a distance, though muffled, his deep timbre voice still ringing in your mind, as he vanished in thin air before your dazed eyes.
