❝ KITA SHINSUKE ❞
child ' s name : You pick your own ( peace ! )
( his . cheeks !! )
"Tsumu, I really can't. I'm sorry."
You secretly peeked through the gap of the door, eavesdropping to your husband's and Atsumu Miya's conversation over the phone. There's this hint of guilt inside your chest, making you let out a heavy sigh. You don't want to be a hindrance for Shinsuke and his friends anymore.
"Eh? But today is Rintarou's birthday! You should come—"
"Tsumu, I said I can't—"
"He'll go."
You sternly said through the line, snatching the telephone from Kita. Your husband was surprised, of course, but not because you stole the device from him but due to the point that you agreed to Atsumu's proposal.
"B-But—"
You shook your head, looking at your husband. "You'll go," you mouthed before smiling as if Tsumu can see you.
Like I said earlier, you don't want to be a hindrance for Shinsuke and his friends anymore. Your husband missed so many important and exciting events with his friends just to spend time with you. This time, it's Suna's birthday. A special day for a friend. You can't let Kita miss this one again.
"What time is the party again?" You asked, softly tapping your fingers under your chin while looking at the wall clock.
"A-Are you sure you'll let Kita come—"
"Of course, Atsu! It's been a while since he spends time with all of you. Now, when will the party start?"
"At 5! Can we pick him up there at 3?"
You chuckled. "You can actually pick him up now."
"What the actual—" You shushed Kita.
"Nah," Atsumu laughed on the other line. "At 3 it is. Don't you want to come too, Y/N-chan?"
"Aww, I'm sorry—"
"She's not coming. Never. Not in her state."
You involuntarily rolled your eyes as your husband stole the telephone back. Grunting, you carefully sat at the edge of the bed, waiting for their conversation to end. Is he having his man period today again? He's been so grumpy since this morning just because you forgot to wash your hands before eating breakfast. Hmph!
"Fine, fine. See you."
Smiling cheekily as you watched Kita put the phone down, looking at you coldly with his brownish orbs that are so beautiful. Deep. You can stare at it forever and get lost in it, you won't care. He put up a staring contest, sighing on the end before shaking his head, sitting next to you. You knew that he's just being protective and careful, but you knew too that his friends mean so much to Kita too.
"Why are you so stubborn?" He whispered.
"I'm not being stubborn, Shin. I just want you to spend time with your friends too," You explained, trying to catch his gaze.
"But what if something bad happens to you?"
"Shin—"
"Y/N," He looked at you directly in the eyes. "I just don't want you to get hurt."
You chuckled so loud, giving him a pat in the end. The great Kita Shinsuke immediately pouted like a duck. So frigging adorable!
"I won't get hurt, I promise!"
Sighing, Kita carefully placed a hand above your belly, caressing it up and down. He bit his lip, thinking so deep. What should he do? He's about to leave his pregnant wife behind. Who's going to look after you? Should he send you to his grandmother's place first? Should he call your best friend? What if he calls your mom and asks her if she can—
"Kita," You called. "You're spacing out again."
"I'm just worried about you and the baby."
"I told you I'll be fine..."
You tried to reassure him, but he just narrowed his eyes at you. You knew he's not going to budge.
"The last time I left you alone, you ate all the snacks I hid under the bed. You even painted the baby's room even if your belly's already big! What if you fell from the chair? And now, you're going to tell me you'll be fine? Come on, love."
Chuckling, you jokingly punched him on the shoulder. "Such a clown!"
"I'm not a clown, Y/N. I'm stating facts."
You rolled your eyes. "Now, how can I convince you that I'll be okay even if I'll be alone for just hours?"
"There's no way you can convince me," He stated. "Let me just tell Rintarou that I can't come—"
"SHINSUKE, YOU WILL GO."
Okay, he hit a nerve.
"It's Rintarou's birthday today! It's the birthday of one of your closest friends. You missed a lot already, Kita: the time when they went to the theme park, when they wanted to watch a volleyball game with you, when they tried to invite you to go to the beach—you missed all of them because of me. If your friends are the jealous and misapprehending type, they're already mad at you. That's why this time, I don't want to be a barrier between you and them. That's why you're going. It's final, Shinsuke—"
You were interrupted by a passionate, loving kiss on the lips. It immediately melted you, making you unconsciously wrap your arms around his neck.
30 seconds...
1 minute...
2 minutes...
3 minu—
You tugged his shirt for air. "I-I'm sorry, I said too much—"
"No," He whispered. "I should be the one saying sorry. You were secretly blaming yourself for the events I missed with them. I'm sorry, love, for making you feel that way..."
Fuck it, he's too precious.
"Shinsuke," You chuckled. "You're so adorable!"
He blushed. "I-I'm being serious here, you know?"
"I'm serious too!"
Laughing, you let him go as you watched him kneel before you, placing his ear on your tummy, probably trying to test if he can hear your unborn baby inside. The view is so precious, with him whispering soft and adorable words to your child. He's even baby-talking!
"You take care of Mommy while I'm away, okay?"
You patted his head softly. "You know he can't hear you, right?"
"He can," He stood up, kissing your forehead. "Now, I'll go with Tsumu..."
"Yes—"
"...under one condition."
Grunting, you rolled your eyes before nodding. As if you have any other option. Here he goes again with his "condition blah blah blah," thingies.
"What condition?"
You pouted as you looked at him, annoyed. How badly you wanted to eat those gummy bears he hid under the bed! You've been thinking about cooking popcorns too and spend the rest of your day watching his previous volleyball matches you recorded even if you watched them a hundred times before. Shinsuke smiled at your face, knowing that he's already teasing you mentally about how much you look like a duckling.
"I'll call your mom to look after you while I'm with the boys. Deal?"
"Fine. Deal, Mr. Kita."
"THAT'S GOOD TO HEAR, MRS. KITA."
