Hawk, Elizabeth, and I walked back to the tavern to see only Diane. Sir Meliodas, Sir King, and Sir Ban nowhere to be seen.

Elizabeth and I walked inside to find an empty tavern. I was looking out the window of the tavern, "Why isn't he back?" I mumbled.

I heard a knock on the door, "Hello are you open?" I heard a man say. I gasped surprised.

Elizabeth and I rush open to the door. "Welcome, Sir!" Elizabeth greeted smiling before gasping. It's the same man Sir Meliodas fought at the Vaizel fighting festival.

"Your Cain arent you? You and Sir Meliodas fought in Vaizel isn't that right?" I asked.

"My word could I be dreaming right now? N/n and Liz!" Cain said crying. I gasped, causing my earring to jingle. "Huh?"

Elizabeth quickly invited him in, and they started chatting. "I see so Meliodas survived? I'm so glad to hear that," Cain said as Elizabeth poured him a drink.

I passed the mug towards Cain, "Here." I said softly smiling. "Sorry about that. Hate to trouble two princesses." Cain said. "It's fine,"

Cain takes a sip of the ale. "Still I was surprised when I saw you two. Your noble features, soft voice are so like Liz" Cain said to Elizabeth.

Cain looks at me. "And you were just as beautiful as N/n and she had a very soft voice just like you. I really had thought Liz and N/n came back to life," He said.

"If those girls were still alive they'd be two women in their prime by now," Cain said.

"Oh were they your daughters by any chance?" I asked kindly, and Cain shakes his head.

"N/n was a nickname, she had the name as you Y/n, same goes for Liz it was short for Elizabeth," Cain said.

"What?" I asked. "Liz was Meliodas's wholehearted best friend while N/n was Meliodas's fiancee," Cain said.

I looked down. 'Fiancee. Sir Meliodas had a Fiancee?'

"Both girls were Knights from an enemy nation who bungled a night raid on Danafall. They were captured and sentenced to death,"

"Their rescuer was no other than Meliodas, who was the captain of danafalls knights back then. Naturally, everyone shouted their objections. It seems that N/n and Liz were sold as a slave to that enemy nation. Because of that, they didn't trust anybody else except for each other. You see N/n and Liz were like you two, they were sisters,"

"But maybe that was what you called a fateful encounter. Even if they both complained bitterly how that he was a naive man. N/n gradually grew attracted to Meliodas, N/n was a girl who had an uncommon charm herself, the rest soon began opening up to them. But of course, that was a time long passed," Cain finished his story.

"Can't believe she thought he was naive. Sir Meliodas is just very, very kind that's all", I said makeing cain laugh.

"Do you know the reason why he doesn't carry a decent sword around with him?" Cain asks me and I shake my head no.

"He's too powerful. No one who has crossed swords with him live to tell the tale. And he doesn't want to put himself in that position. At the same time, I think he can just too gentle a soul," Cain said. He then fished in his cloak and out down a sheathed sword.

"What is that?" I asked curiously. "It's something N/n once tried to give Meliodas as a gift. And I accepted it for him and kept it ever since," Cain said as I stared at the sword.

Suddenly a roar came from the distance startling me. I look at where the sound was coming from. "I can sense an unbelievable amount of magical power. I'm going to have a look. You wait here, princesses!" Cain said as he got down and ran away.

I looked at the place he left before looking at the sword. 'Sir Meliodas,' I thought before I had a look of determination on my face.

I grabbed the sword and held it tightly to my body as I ran towards the sound. "What? Y/n come back!" Elizabeth said before following me.

"Y/n and Elizabeth!" Hawk yelled as I ran past Hawk, Diane, and Cain. I ran until I saw Sir Meliodas.

"Sir Meliodas!" I called out. I stood out of breath, panting as I look him in the eyes.

"Y/n!" Sir Meliodas said shocked. "Take this!" I yelled throwing him the sword.

"Sir Meliodas it's not that N/n wanted you to fight! It's that she wanted you to live! And I feel the same way! I want you to live!" I yelled out.

"Don't you understand, your someone who fights for what he believes in. And if that's your sin I'll happily carry that burden with you!" I yelled.

Sir Meliodas jumps up to catch the sword and quickly cuts the monster multiple times. The monster cracks and crumbles into multiple pieces.

Sir Meliodas looks up to smile at me making me smile aswell, I run down the hill to meet with them.

"Thanks to you my mind is clear. Let's go! We've got a battle to fight!" Sir Meliodas said smirking. I nod my head. "Right!"
