I was standing outside the boar hat looking up at the night sky, explosions of light could be seen.  Fireworks were a sign that everyone was celebrating.

"What's going on, Y/n?" Meliodas said interrupting the silence. I turn to look at him, "Oh, hello Meliodas, " "Hey."

He walks next to me to enjoy the view. "I was told that the people have been liberated, and those that were in forced labor can go back to their homes."

"It's going to take a long time to rebuild after this, but the fact that we're celebrating Liones founding festival at all is thanks to you and-".

"It's all thanks to you and Elizabeth for bringing us back together, right," Meliodas said smiling.

I smile and look back to the fireworks, "This is it. It's finally over," I said smiling softly.

"Well not exactly, 'cause my journey hasn't wrapped up just yet," Meliodas said. "What?" I said as I look at him as he chuckles, smiling before walking away.

"Wait it's not over?" I say as I chase after him.

My eyes twitched as they slowly opened as I rose, squinting my eyes from the ray of sun that hits my face.

I remove myself from my bed and walk towards the window and lifted it open. "What a morning,"

I quickly move over to my wardrobe and got dressed and headed through the halls of the castle, saying hellos to the maids and knights as I made my way to the dining table.

I plopped myself down on the chair and ate breakfast quickly not minding the stares I got from my father not my my sisters.

Once I was done I stood up ungracefully wobbly as I did so, wiping the spare food off my mouth and licking my teeth clean. "Thank you for the meal, really!"

I rushed to change my outfit into the tavern's uniform and quickly walked through the halls of the castle passing Veronica and Griamore.

"Hey!" Veronica yelled, "Don't worry I'll be back by dinner!" I informed not bothering to look back as I tried to fix myself up.

The air breezed by as I walked, praising people, and telling them to stop by the boar hat.

It felt like so long ago. In order to save the people from the clutches of the holy knights. Me and my sister, Elizabeth were on a quest to find the legendary Seven Deadly Sins. And made my fateful encounter with their captain Meliodas, and after encountering one ordeal after another, with the help of my dependable comrades, we were able to crush the ambitions of two holy knight grandmasters. Now I only need one thing to do to make this a happily ever after.

I stop in my tracks and look back at the castle before shaking my head and turning back and running again.

And so our journey came to an end. But Sir Meliodas seems to have unfinished business.

When I opened the tavern door, I see everyone sleeping surrounded by empty bottles clearly having too much ale.

I smile, laughing softly before closing the door. I take the mop and bucket and started cleaning the floor outside.

I stopped for a moment wiping my forehead, "Woah! Y/n! Cleaning up this early? You're a breed apart from those other employees," Hawk said snorting.

I look over, "Oh! Hawk! Good morning!" I said joyfully looking back down to see Hawk had disappeared. "Hawk?" I said looking around.

"Over here! Look down!" Hawk yelled near the bucket. "Oh! There you are!" I said crouching.

"Sorry. I couldn't tell where you were. I'm just not used to you being this size," I said smiling.

"Yea no pun intended, but it's a small price to pay when saving the kingdom and its scoundrels. Besides this size has some advantages, for one my usual scraps bowl feels ten times bigger, so still, it's not that bad," Hawk said.

"But still you need to promise you'll never do anything that reckless again, alright?" I said.

"That's up to those passed-up idiots in there," Hawk said. "Yeah, but I'd still be better if you never left my side okay?"

"Okay!" Hawk agreed and I scooped him in my free hand and brought him up to my face.

"I've got a question," I said, "Hmm what up?" Hawk answers. "Do you know where Meliodas is heading next? Has he said anything to you?" I asked hoping he knew the answer.

"That I don't know. Actually, where is he now?" Hawk said looking around. "What?"

I opened the door with Hawk on my shoulder and looked around. "You're right, it doesn't seem like he's in the tavern," I said.

"Here I am!" Said Meliodas as his words were muffled because he was under my skirt.

I look down and widen my eyes. Squealing as I pull him away.

"Can't you just show up like a normal person!" Hawk said jumping onto Meliodas's head. "For me, this is normal," "You are crazy!"

"So were you fast asleep with the others, Meliodas?" I asked but he shook his head and Hawk jumped into my hands.

"No no not at all. I was making a new food item. Look at our new dish it's a meat pie that looks like a whole roasted pig!" Meliodas said showing us.

"And you know the best part? It has no pork it is just made entirely of leftovers and vegetable scraps! I'm a genius aren't I?"

I smiled, my head tilting. "Well visually I say it's a bit," I said shivering as I remembered Hawk's dead body.

"Leftovers and vegetable scraps isn't that just plain old scraps?" Hawk asks.

"Do you want to try it?" Meliodas asked. I moved back slightly, "I already had breakfast so maybe another time. But it's so genius of you," I said nervously.

"Yea I know," Meliodas said bashfully, putting one hand down to graze mine before grasping it, interlocking fingers.

"Yeah eat it yourself!" Hawk yelled. "Aww. So you won't eat it either, Hawk?" Meliodas said.

"I have Ban's yummy food to look forward to!" Hawk said snorting. "Where is he?" I asked referring to Ban.

Meliodas walks up to Gilthunder and Howzer and wakes them up. They all decided to have a bite of the dish. They freeze for a moment before spitting it out all except for Howzer.

I laugh behind my hand. "That wasn't the flavor I was expecting for," Meliodas said dabbing his mouth with a napkin and turning to Howzer.

"Hey, Howzer you seemed to be taking a liking to it-" Meliodas said before looking at Howzers face.

"He's in mid-bite," Meliodas whispered and I gasped, my hands covering my mouth.

"How gross was that stuff?" Hawk asks and Meliodas was in thought. I walk up to Howzer.

"Did he just faint?" I asked worried, "I'm starting to think you took Hendrickson out with your cooking," Hawk said.

"I wonder what I did to make it taste that horrible?" Meliodas said still in thought.

"The same thing you always do!" Hawk yelled, "I get it, it won't be any real good unless I use real pork for the roast pig!" Meliodas said.

Hawk squealed, "You've got to be kidding me!" Hawk yelled as he fell off me and ran out the door!

"Hawk! Wait it's dangerous out there!" I yelled out worried. "Uh oh well he'll be back here soon enough," Meliodas said making me hit his shoulder.

I placed Hawk's scraps bowl on the floor and waited. "Hmm, still not back. He really did get out of dodge didn't he?" Meliodas said.

"Oh no! What if something bad happened to him with his tiny size anything can happen, " I said as all the terrible thoughts went through my head. "Alright,"

"Starting now we're gonna search for Hawk together! As your captain, that's an order!" Meliodas declared. The leftover sins whined in objection.

"Hey, maybe I've got it! Okay whoever can capture Hawk first, can ask me to do whatever they want for the whole day!" Sir Meliodas said and I gasped.

Everyone agreed even Gilthunder. "Wait Gil, are you sure you're well enough?" I asked.

"After purging my stomach, I feel fine. And you'll be joining into the hunt too, right?" Gilthunder said.

"Huh? Oh, yea," I said nodding, "Alright then it's settled! Let's go! Time for operation snag piglet!" Meliodas yelled.

"Yea!" Gil and Diane cheered, "Huh?" Howzer said.

We all went out of the tavern and into the kingdom, calling out for Hawk.

I was calling out for Hawk looking through every nook and cranny until I feel something fluffy underneath my skirt.

"Hey, Gil look behind you!" Meliodas said. "Meliodas! What are you doing!" I yelled.

Meliodas then placed me on his shoulder as he ran causing me to scream as we go.

"Don't let him get away!" "Right!" Gil said as his voice got farther away.

Meliodas slowly stopped his running. "Meliodas! Please put me down, this is embarrassing!"

"Huh? I forgot about that." Meliodas said.

It was sunset and we still didn't find Hawk, I'm still so worried about him.

"Why don't we head back to the tavern for now?" "Aww, we still haven't found him,"

"Meliodas I-" "Hey don't worry about a thing. We'll go search for him later okay?" Meliodas said rubbing my shoulder in reassurance. "Sure,"

When we came back to the tavern, we find Hawk. He was eating Sir Ban's scraps.

"Well, captain late getting home huh?" "Hawk you came home!" "Nothing beats the scraps Ban makes!"

"So this makes me the winner of your little contest right?" Sir Ban said and Meliodas suddenly had Hawk in his hands.

"Look I caught him! I'm the winner," Meliodas said shocking everyone. "Remember? I said whoever captures him first wins."

Everyone was upset as they didn't win. "All that work for nothing," Diane said pouting, "Well I still had fun either way. After all, it's been a while since things were so hectic," I said smiling. "I guess you're right,"

Soon we were talking which settled an argument between Meliodas and Ban.

"Here you go!" I said as I placed two mugs on a table for Gil and Howzer.

"Thanks, Y/n," Gilthunder said as I smiled.

Everyone was having a good time, laughing, eating, and drinking. It was just like old times but this time we have more friends along the way.

As I walked I overheard Meliodas and Ban talking and I froze still.

Meliodas was walking me back to the castle since night had fallen.

"I wonder if Bartra's mad at me," "You mean about what you were discussing with Ban?" I said.

"Yeah. My promise, " "It's not something dangerous or reckless is it?" "I wouldn't be that reckless," "Mhm, okay,"

"So I was wondering what would you ask me for if you won?" Meliodas asked, surprising me.

"Um actually.." "Remember it can be anything you want," Meliodas said stepping forward.

I step forward as well. "Meliodas are you going on another journey?" I asked, "Yeah," "I thought so. Do you think I could be of some use to you on that trip?" I asked looking down.

"Probably not," Sir Meliodas said shocking me, I looked down, clenching my fist. "I meant there was no reason to expose yourself to any more danger. That's all. But I'll always need you," Sir Meliodas said.

"What?" "Well, of course, you are my purpose in life," "Wait. I don't understand. What do you mean?"

"My purpose is to protect you, you know that,"

By the time we had arrived at the castle, Father was there with his arms crossed with my sisters behind him.

Father scolded Meliodas for bringing me so late.

I waved goodbye to  Meliodas as he was leaving, waving back as the doors closed.

I went back to my room and yelped as I saw Elizabeth there smirking when she saw me.

"Oh Meliodas, I never want you to leave. Come into my room as we profess our love for one another!" Lizzie said as she got up mocking my voice.

"I don't sound like that," "You kinda do," "What are you doing here?" "I just wanted to know what you would ask for if you had won," "You heard about the challenge?"

"Knights talk a lot when fighting, they do it to try to distract me but it's no use when I beat them all to a pulp,"

"Just that we should stay together for as long as we can," "Liar, don't make me read your mind,"

"Wait don't," "Too late I'm doing it," "No!" I yelled tackling her on the bed and ticking her.

"Stop, stop! Okay okay, you win!" "I stop my actions getting off her as I smile in victory.

Lizzie sits up huffing a hair away from her face, "All this damn hair, I should cut it. What do you think?"

"I think you would look so pretty with shorter hair! Plus it would be helpful during battle, " "Thanks N/n, so it's official. It's been a while since I had short hair, "Lizzie said as she ruffled my hair.

Lizzie gets up before walking to the door, "Well it's getting late and I have training tomorrow and so do you so rest up,"

I nod and she smiles before closing the door, I flop back onto the bed smiling so wide.

If I had one wish it would be to kiss Sir Meliodas

Heyy. It's been a while, this was supposed to be published Sunday but things happened and it didn't. So sorry I've been away but this year I turned 17, I have finals, and getting back into my old job and I couldn't find the time to update even though this book was on my mind 27/7. I also have to apply for colleges so... Yeah I'm not that same 12-14 year old girl that can update whenever. But I will try to publish chapters every Saturday or Sunday if not then it will be published later, I will force myself to do them. So yeah hope you enjoy my come back. We gotta finish this book y'all. 😭😭
