Three months.

Two weeks.

Four days.

16 hours.

28 minutes.

And 46 seconds.

Since Juliet Crain opened that front door and saw the two police officers who gave her the news she never wanted to hear.

The first few hours Juliet was numbed as the officer who she broke down with sat with her until her Uncle Charlie could arrive.

Charlie got to the Crain house as fast as he could when he got the phone call. The moment he got there Charlie ran inside and went straight to the living room finding Juliet just staring at nothing in particular.

But the moment he called her name Juliet looked at him and muttered words Charlie would never forget.

They're dead.

Before busting into tears.

Holding back his own tears Charlie walked towards her pulling Juliet into his arms as she sobbed begging to wake up from whatever nightmare she was in.

Something that she never would.

Charlie held Juliet until she exhausted herself with her tears passing out in his arms.

The next few days went by in a blur of decisions and people said their sorry for her loss with pity looks on their faces.

All of it made Juliet want to scream. As loud as she could.

Especially when her aunt arrived telling Juliet how much she would love Arizona when she moved there with her after the funeral.

Juliet just stared at her wanting to literally slap her across her face.

Juliet and Renee had a complicated relationship sort of like August and Renee, although their relationship was even worse.

The only time August ever heard from Renee was when money was involved. He wasn't even invited to her wedding.ย

So it shouldn't have been a surprise that a week after the funeral when the Will reading happened August and Adeline listed in their will that if Juliet was under the age of eighteen at the time of their untimely deaths that Juliet would be put in the custody of Charlie Swan.

And that everything would be left to Juliet except one of their savings accounts which was left to Charlie Swan with more than three hundred thousand dollars in it.

That literally made Charlie choke on nothing but air and it had the first laugh escape from Juliet since the accident.

After the will reading Charlie stayed with Juliet as she finished everything up in Seattle.

He helped her get a company to get everything she wanted to keep in storage so she could sell the house.

Charlie tried to get Juliet to keep it but she told him that this was their home and now it just felt like a house.

It held the best and worst memories and Juliet didn't want to keep the house without them there. It felt like there was just a ghost and it was all cold now.

ย  Juliet had just a few more things to do while Charlie reluctantly went back to Forks. He tried to stay but Juliet needed to do the last few things alone.

She needed to pack up her partner's room and didn't want him here for that.

And Bella was coming to town Charlie needed to be there with her.

She would be fine alone.

That is what she was now.

All alone.

An orphan.

And that is what led Juliet here.

In the passenger seat of a cruiser, she headed into Forks with all of her belongings that she wanted to keep in the backseat.

"You sure got everything?" Charlie questions Juliet looking over to her as the girl stares at the sign she's seen hundreds of times before "The City Of Forks Welcomes You - Pop. 3246"

"I got everything," Juliet tells him as Charlie nods at her. She already had a lot of things at the Swan house.

Whenever her parents had a business trip or just a couple trip Juliet ended up staying at Charlie's house and usually for two weeks in the summer Juliet ended up staying.

She had a room already decorated there and some of her clothes and items she needed so she didn't have to carry it all with her when she went. The stuff in the backseat was just what Juliet didn't want to separate from.ย ย

Soon the two pulled up at the familiar old two-story house. With a woodshed full of firewood, a small boat in the garage, fishing gear, and an old buoy.

Opening the car door Juliet steps out as Charlie begins to get the bags out of the backseat for her.

The girl stares at the house what her Mom once called a typical bachelor pad, before she is finally allowed in to fix it.

With that, Adeline repainted the walls the same color but fixed just a new set of paint on it. Cleaned up the dust, new furniture, and as a Christmas gift to the man a bigger flat-screen TV.

"Bella should be here soon. She's at school right now. I talked to the principal regarding getting you in, you can start whenever you want," Charlie tells Juliet as they walk into the house.

"I'll start tomorrow," Juliet tells Charlie who stops walking at that as Juliet heads up the stairs. Charlie shakes his head before following after her.

Juliet looks at the pictures that lead up the wall by three stairs. There were framed pictures of Bella and her drawing she used to do for Charlie, with pictures of Juliet and her Mom with Charlie, and some with just Charlie, Adeline, and August.

Walking into the last room on the right side of the stairs Juliet looks at the room seeing it was exactly as she left it.

With her bed on the opposite side from her window that held a bay window, Juliet turned into a reading nook.

"Here's your bags Jules," Charlie says making the girl look to see him sitting down with the three bags she packed up as the girl smiles at him.

"Jules...what can I do?" Charlie asks her as Juliet stares before shrugging.

"I don't know," Juliet whispers at him as Charlie walks towards her wrapping his arms around her.

"I got you some chocolate fudge ice cream in the freezer. Want to go downstairs watch Friends and eat the entire tub?" Charlie questions as Juliet squeezes him tighter.

"Please but five more seconds please," Juliet whispers making Charlie nod as he hugs her tighter kissing the top of Juliet's head.

"Of course kiddo," Charlie tells her hugging her tighter.

After spending some time watching Friends and eating more than half the tub of ice cream Charlie left to go get dinner from the diner as Juliet went upstairs to start unpacking her bags.

Most of her thicker clothes she needed for Forks were already here so it didn't take that much to unpack the rest of her clothes.

But for the last ten minutes, Juliet's been staring at the frame that held a picture of Juliet in the middle smiling as Adeline stood beside her hugging her tightly and smiling at the camera while August had his arms wrapped tightly around the two girls smiling down at them.

Running her fingers over the picture Juliet tries to swallow down the tries that were trying to come forward. Although truthfully Juliet hadn't cried since that night.

Some say she is still in shock but truthfully Juliet was just so tired.

And tears just took so much energy, energy Juliet didn't have at the moment.

"Juliet," a voice says making the girl jump as she turns around seeing Bella standing right there in the doorway staring at her auburn girl with clear pity in her eyes.

"I'm sorry about what happened," Bella tells the girl who nods her head at her.

"Thanks," Juliet tells her as Bella nods and she stares before awkwardly walking back to her room across from Juliet's the girl sighs before placing the picture frame on her bedside table beside laying down her bed staring straight at the ceiling feeling her eyes slowly become too close.

And with that, the nightmares begin.
