"Left at the grave yard
I'm driving past ghosts.
Their arms are extended
My eyes start to close."

First name: August

Middle name: Cordelia

Last name: Solace

Age: 17

Sexuality: lesbian, closeted.

Pronouns: she+her+her's

Real face claim:

Looks in more detail: August has a very rosy flush to her tan cheeks, almost always. Her lips are plump, and a deep red color similar to that of crushed berries. Her hair is chestnut brown, wavy and frames her face well. She has sharp facial features, and her eyes are a soft grey shade with specks of green throughout them.

Her build is slim, but fit and she normally wears darker, earthy colors. She loves turtlenecks, because it hides the scar on her collarbone and neck as well as anything that catches her eye. She almost always has chipped black polish on her nails.

"I know that you waited
for me like a dog
But have some patience
for the part of me
That's lost."

Personality: August is sort of hard to get to know. She can come across as intimidating, and in general she's very reserved. She isn't impossible to get to know, but odds are that she'll always be hiding something about her past from you because she doesn't like talking about it. If you ever do try to get her to open up, odds are she will start cracking jokes because it's how she copes with vulnerability.

She's an incredibly fast learner, very smart and well spoken and wise beyond her years. She's awkward, even if she tries to hide it by being standoffish- she's not great socially. She is always willing to help others, and is great at listening.

She's very much a trouble teen type. She drinks, smokes, sleeps around, and does anything she can to numb her pain. The thing is, August is careful with the people who she gets around with. With her, she makes it clear that she's not sticking around for long and that she isn't looking for a relationship. Just a coping mechanism.

That said, she isn't the type you want to bring home to your parents. She's obviously... a little lost, and that can make her impulsive and scandalous by the standards of middle aged women who don't want her hanging around their kids.

Likes: sad prose, early mornings, studying but only when the subject interests her, playing piano, drinking, sex, smoking.

Dislikes: vulnerability, going to classes, tight spaces, romance novels, not being instantly good at something because she'll likely quit instead of continuing to try.

"You've got no reason to be afraid
You're on your own, kid
Yeah, you can face this
You're on your own, kid
You always have been."

Family: Felix Solace, father. Bad relationship.

Arielle Solace, mother. Deceased.

Juniper Garner, older sister. Estranged.

History: August's history is one with highs and lows, and a bit of tragedy. Her father passed away when she was not old enough to heal on her own, but not young enough to forget. When her father passed, it left her mother with two daughters who she didn't know how to raise.

But August was gifted. A piano prodigy, who had mastered the instrument as a child. Soon, this would be her ticket to a better life.

Over the year she grew more and more distant, and soon became mentally abusive towards her kids. Juniper was older, she moved out and got married young and never looked back. Leaving August with her mother, alone and constantly hurt by each word that left her mouth. She hated August, and made it clear every day. She got a point where she was always drunk, and always trying yo cut August as deeply as she could with her vicious tongue. August was forced to grow up, pay the bills, and hide the bruises the women left her.

At 15 her mother picked her up from school, and drove them home drunk. Or tried to drive them home. They crashed into another person, and everyone lived but August's hand was wrecked. She couldn't play piano anymore, and was left with painful hand tremors.

August also struggles heavily with her sexuality, and has slept with multiple boys to try and convince herself she's straight.

"Oh, sweet child of mine
You're always sorry
for everything
Never apologize ."

"It must just be the colors
And the kids
That keep me alive
'Cause the music is boring me to death."

"All that I did to try and undo it
All of my pain and all your excuses
I was a kid but I wasn't clueless
Someone who loves you
Wouldn't do this."

"You knew the hero died
So what's the movie for?
You knew it still hurt
Underneath my scars
From when they
pulled me apart."
