𝒜𝓅𝓅𝑒𝒶𝓇𝒶𝓃𝒸𝑒-

Boyd, or Teddy depending on who you ask, looks perpetually tired. Nights spent toiling over a wailing baby will do that to a person. He has these eyes — they're hazel, like the edge of a forest meeting the earth, cradled by the sunlight. They were extraordinary in the sense that they are warm as candlelight, and always squinted like a puppy that just woke up from a life changing nap.

He tries to keep his curly brown hair neat, but frankly he fails. The curls are always mussed, spilling across his forehead like tree limbs sprawling from the trunk. His eyebrows have a natural pull to the center, making him appear perpetually concerned. He's dark eyebrows, baby food stained shirts, and the look of a friend you've known for years, even if you've only just met.

ℬ𝒾𝓇𝓉𝒽𝒹𝒶𝓉𝑒-

December 25th, he likes saying he shares a birthday with Jesus.

𝒫𝑒𝓇𝓈𝑜𝓃𝒶𝓁𝒾𝓉𝓎-

He has a heart of gold, and a sleepy head. Taking care of people is second nature to him, a glow that comes from within his beautiful soul. This has always been true, however his doting quality grew after having a baby. He checks in on people constantly, carries wet wipes and snacks, and just about kills himself trying to take care of everyone around him.

Boyd doesn't give the best advice, but he's a very good listener. He's very patient, unwaveringly so, yet pushes away help that others extend him. Worry is his keeper, like a clawed hand caging his heart in. He refuses to burden people he cares about, preferring to deal with the darkest colors of the world on his own. 

He is too tired to judge people which makes him a safe place for friends to land. He's got a bleeding, brave heart that shows in the way he carries himself with a quiet confidence. Boyd is athletic, extroverted, and thoughtful as poignant poetry.

𝒮𝓉𝓇𝑒𝓃𝑔𝓉𝒽𝓈-

Persevering - nothing can stop him. He'd walk through flames, letting his feet be lapped in fire if it was the path leading to what he wants. Sometimes what he wants is just to keep his head above water, and sometimes that's how it feels.

Trusting - in two ways. One, he's quite perceptive to understanding who is trustworthy and who is not. He won't allow anyone into his life if he feels even a twinge in his stomach when he meets someone new. Two, being that he's a good judge of character, he trusts whole heartedly and easily.

Athletic - while he can read from a textbook and get good grades, he always been better at athletics than anything else. He's been a star football player in the making since he was a little kid, playing a game of Thanksgiving football with his siblings and cousins. Sports has taught him determination and strength to keep going,

He's reassuring as a lighthouse in the middle of a rolling sea, an incredible dad, compassionate, curious and takes time to savor the little things.

𝒲𝑒𝒶𝓀𝓃𝑒𝓈𝓈𝑒𝓈-

Talks without thinking - when he's tired, his brain shuts off. For this reason, the lines between inside thoughts and outside thoughts blurs and he says whatever is on his mind. He's done this since he was a little kid, now that he's got a baby crying all night it happens more.

Bad choices - at the end of the day, he's still a teenage boy. He can make questionable choices, never at the expense of his daughter though. Time hasn't made him wise yet, and being academically smart doesn't mean he knows anything about the world yet.

Hard headed - self explanatory, this boy could argue with a wall if he was passionate enough about his point being correct.

He complains about small stuff, yet never opens up about real problems. Selfless to a fault, can lose focus, always forget to put gas in his car, bad cook.

𝒫𝑜𝓌𝑒𝓇𝓈(𝒾𝒻 𝒶𝓅𝓅𝓁𝒾𝒸𝒶𝒷𝓁𝑒)-

ℱ𝑒𝒶𝓇𝓈-

Losing his daughter - Ever since she was born, he's had this terror that one day he'll wake up, and not be able to see her face. When he learned about SIDS, he stayed up for days straight just watching her breathe, scared that something bad would happen.

Being a disappointment - everyone expects a lot from him. His father being the mayor has given him a reputation to uphold, to make strangers jealous or proud and he hates it.

Becoming like his parents - the last thing he wants in this world is to become like them. They are so cold, unyielding and harsh and imagining himself acting like that to his daughter... it's harrowing to him.

Breaking people's trust, injuring any part he needs to effectively play football, losing hope in the world, cats. 

ℒ𝒾𝓀𝑒𝓈-

Staring at the sunlight pouring through stained glass at church, playing football when the air is cold, the euphoric high of winning a game and jeering with his teammates, watching his daughter's milestones and hearing her cottony giggles, casual displays of affection, grand displays of affection, the scent of coffee brewing at dawn when the world is still asleep, licorice, Romance even though it's not on his mind right now, forming connections with people and getting to know them.

𝒟𝒾𝓈𝓁𝒾𝓀𝑒𝓈-

Lavender perfume because that's how his ex smelled; it makes his stomach twist every time he catches a whiff on someone else. Hangovers, perfectionism, watching his daughter get older because time feels like it's slipping through his fingers, getting bad grades, stressing over things he doesn't think he should be worried about but is anyway, being alone, empty houses when the door in unlocked, his parents.

Boyd 'Teddy' grew up in a cold household that prioritized their image more than being a family. His father was a local politician, eventually becoming mayor so his parents molded their kids into these perfect molds that didn't allow for mistakes.

He grew up working hard to get good grades and be what they wanted. He was a good brother, a good son and a swell friend but it was never enough to make them proud. His older sister was the pinnacle of perfect, and even she wasn't good enough. She went off to college, and immediately went a little wild since she wasn't under their parent's thumb anymore.

That was when Teddy was 14, his parents got a whole lot worse after that. By 15, he had a girlfriend who he dated until he turned 16. Out of the blue she broke up with him, and didn't explain until her pregnancy started showing. He confronted her and she lied, saying she cheated on him, because she didn't want to ruin his life. However, she got scared when she got closer to her due date and came clean.

Teddy obviously said he'd raise their kid together and that was the plan until... his ex turned 18 just weeks after their little girl was born. She skipped town, leaving him with a newborn baby. His parents begged him to put her up for adoption, he refused, they kicked him out and he moved in with his aunt.
