CHAPTER FOUR
Night had came by, Nami was currently attempting to open the large safe that they found in Captain Morgans office, still not being able to figure it out. Zoro was stretched out on a small mattress, trying to take a nap after all the fighting that occurred. Luffy was on the ropes that were on the boat, being playful per usual and Miyu sat on the floor as she cleaned her sword, even though it was spotless.
"Can you not do that?" Nami asked the curly head boy as he hung upside down from the ropes, his legs wrapped around them like a monkey. "Sorry! It's hard to sit still!" Luffy apologized before he jumped down from the ropes, not wanting to annoy Nami. He grabbed his yellow straw hat and planted it on his head, "I'm feeling so piratey."
"And I'm feeling tired." Miyu let out a yawn and placed her sword down on the boat. She was bored out of her mind, nothing to do or entertain her other than the bickering between Nami and Luffy. Anything was better than waiting, even if another fight were to occur, it would be better than waiting for Nami to open the safe.
"I told you, I need absolute silence." Nami said with annoyance in her voice. The whole time Luffy had been yapping non-stop, yelling and overall acting like a child in a candy store.
"Yeah, I know, I know. Absolute silence. It's just...this is my first real pirate score! Can you believe that?" Luffy looked over at the ginger with eyes sparkling in excitement. Nami and Zoro didn't know how much it meant for Luffy to finally have a 'crew', despite them denying it. Even though they weren't an exact crew, they still had enough people on their boat to find the gold. And that was enough for Luffy.
"Yeah, I can believe it." Nami shot back, "You told me right after you begged me to join your crew again."
Miyu closed her eyes tightly, wanting nothing else but rest. Sleeping was quite impossible when Luffy kept opening his mouth to talk about the One Piece with Nami. She groaned quietly, wishing the boy would be quiet for another minute, which wouldn't happen.
"We do make a pretty good team." Luffy walked over to Nami and casually placing his head on top of hers, which she did not like. "Get off!" She snapped, and Luffy did what she told him to do. The two began to yell and shout at each other, each time their voice going higher and louder. It was until Nami slapped Luffy's head, causing his straw hat to fly off, luckily he caught it.
"Will you two knock it off? I'm trying to take a nap." Zoro spoke up from the other room, his arms under his head while he tried to take a nap. He was clearly annoyed at the two. "Exactly my thoughts." Miyu said quietly, her head resting on her arm as she closed her eyes.
"Oh, I'm sorry, are we interrupting your beauty sleep?" Nami sarcastically said to Zoro, her eyes looking at Zoro. Zoro let out a groan in frustration, "Don't like what you see? Look away." Nami scoffed before turning her head back to the safe, still trying to open it.
Miyu's had shot up at the faint sound of a click coming from the safe, "Did you...." Her words trailed off when she saw Nami open the safe doors. "You did it!" Miyu quickly rose to her feet and made her way to the safe, wanting to know what was inside and why it was in such a large, heavy, safe.
Nami smirked as she reached in the safe, pulling out a golden tube. She carefully unscrewed the top, revealing the finest map in the East Blue. Nami unfolded the map, now being able to fully see the map that could possibly bring them to the hidden treasure.
"Oh my..." Miyu whispered, leaning in closer to get a closer look. The map was even more beautiful up close. She couldn't believe her eyes, was Nami actually skillful in something? Maybe she wasn't a bad addition.
Zoro put his hand on the safe and opened the door back up, looking inside to see if there was anything else. "That's it?" He asked, sounding unimpressed. "Isn't there supposed to be gold inside?" He didn't care about some map, he cared about gold. Gold that he needed to achieve his dreams.
"Not in this safe. The map is where the gold is." Miyu answered Zoro's question, her eyes never leaving the paper that was in Nami's hands. "This is more valuable. This is the map to the grand line!" Luffy added in her sentence, his voice high with excitement. "Ah, the Grand Line is right........." He trailed off, not knowing where the Grand Line was located. His eyes scanned the paper, not finding the location whatsoever.
"You're going to the Grand Line, but you don't know where it is?" Nami's voice had a mix of disbelief and disappointment at the same time. How could someone travel to a different place without knowing where it was? Nami mentally face palmed herself when she looked at the three clueless people that stood on the boat.
"Guess I need a navigator on my crew!" He looked at Nami with a grin, he wanted her to join the crew so bad. Yet again, he was right, they needed a navigator in order to complete their mission, and Nami wasn't a bad choice. She did crack open the safe and she knew where the Grand Line was.
Nami walked into a room, grabbing a piece of paper and a black pencil. She started to sketch a drawing. "The seas are divided into four quadrants," Nami began as she drew a large circle on the paper she had. "East blue, North Blue, West blue, South Blue." She drew a squiggly line right through the center, "This thin strip of land that circles the globe, its called the Red Line." Her finger pointed to the thin area, "And this band across the middle is the Grand Line." She dragged the pencil against the paper, drawing a horizontal line on the squiggly line, "A treacherous stretch of ocean. Bigger islands, bigger cities, bigger pirates. Flush with riches and ripe for the pickings." Nami put the pencil down after she finished explaining the basics, leaning back and crossing her arms over her chest. "okay smarty pants." Miyu said.
"And that's where we're going to find the One Piece!" Luffy spoke with a huge smile on his face, his eyes bright. Zoro scratched his head before speaking, "I've taken a lot of pirates looking for that thing. What is like? Like... a big diamond or something?"
Miyu turned her head to look over at the man, her head tilted. How could someone not know what the One Piece was? "Treasure from Gold Rogers. No one knows what's inside." She informed the swordsman. "That's because its a myth." Nami cut in, not believing the gold was real. If it wasn't real, why did she want to find it? It made no sense. Nami was suspicious, at least to Miyu. "What do you mean its fake?"
"The reason no one's found it in 22 years is why." Nami's blue eyes met with the swordswomans brown ones, her voice serious. She wasn't convince the treasure was real, only a stupid lie. It could be true, the one piece could be fake, but Miyu still believed it was real. The reason why Miyu thought no one found it yet was because the people who tried to, never made it out alive. Many pirates searched for the treasure, some more violent than others. They would kill to find the treasure.
"Can't wait to see the look on your face when we find it."
Before anyone could respond to Luffy, a loud sound rang through the air, cutting the conversation. Miyu's eyes widened, she jumped in surprise from the sudden noise. The sky started to turn into a deep red color with smokey forming. "What's that?" She asked, her head tilted upwards to look at the smoke.
"Is that the Marines?" Zoro grabbed his swords with a frown, getting ready to protect himself. "How'd they find us?" The four of them walked outside, staring at the weird sky. The once blue colored night was now a deep shade of red, like something off a horror movie. "Fireworks?" Miyu suggested, that was the only thing that could cause such a smokey sky, right?
"No." Nami shut down Miyu's suggestion, her brows furrowed in concern as she looked up. "Why would someone have fireworks? There's nothing to celebrate." Miyu nod her head, Nami was right. Why would someone have fireworks on a random day? There were no holidays to celebrate.
"Uh, the smoke smells weird." Luffy sniffed the air, which had a weird, off-putting scent. "It does." Miyu agreed, pressing her index and thumb on her nose, pinching it in an attempt to block out the weird smell. Now, fireworks definitely don't smell like that. Something was off about it.
Suddenly, Nami collapsed, hitting the ground with a thud. Zoro followed shortly after, his swords making a click as he fell. "Nami? Zoro?" Miyu's heart raced rapidly as she looked around the boat, not knowing what happened to them. The two didn't respond, it must've been the weird smoke in the air.
Luffy quickly grabbed the map and stuffed it in his mouth, swallowing it and hiding it in case they were to loose it. But almost immediately swallowing it, he crashed on to the ground.
Miyu took her fingers off her nose and ripped a sleeve off of her shirt, quickly wrapping it around her face to close off the poison smoke. The fabric wasn't perfect, but it should be enough to keep her from getting knocked out. She needed to stay conscious and alert, she had to protect the three people and figure out what was going on.
The bombing soon came to an end, the muffle sound of footsteps made its way to the boat. Miyu kept her eyes opened to try to see who was on the boat, only to see nothing but shadows. The smoke was too much for her eyes to handle. Once the people got closer, she realized the weird outfits they had on- outfits that looked like clowns, acrobats and other circus-like clothing.
"Well, well, well..." One of the men said, locking eyes with Miyu. "Captain!" He called out for his pirate captain, wanting him to check out the woman. "What now? I'm busy!" A man said angrily, most likely the captain. It sounded like he was looking for something... maybe the map.
"One is awake still!" The next moment, a man with a large pirate hat with light teal pigtails appeared in view, stopping in front of Miyu with a slight smile on his red lips. His smile dropped once he saw his crew looking around, doing nothing.
"I thought I said to knock them all out!!!" He commanded with a growl, not happy with his crew. "She has someone around her face!" One of them defended himself, his hands raised in a surrendering motion. Miyu put her hand Infront of the cloth, protecting it. She didn't want the man to pull the cloth off, or she would be knocked out next.
"Hmm, I see..." The clown walked to Miyu, his hands reaching out for the fabric. "Give me it!" He grabbed her hand, but Miyu kicked the clown in the stomach, making him tumble back. She wasn't going to give up without a fight. One of the men with green hair stormed towards her, grabbing her arms and pulling them behind her back, trapping her.
"You bitch!" She cursed loudly, not enjoying it one bit. The clown let out a manic laugh, he enjoyed it. He loved seeing her struggle against his crew. He leaned down to the woman, his nose barely touching Miyu's face, the smile forming on his lips. "Feisty, huh? I like you.... but unfortunately, you're too much to handle."
He put his gloved hand underneath the dark fabric that was tied around her face, "We'll talk about this later, okay!" With that, he yanked the cloth off of her face, the odd smell immediately filling up her nostrils.
Buggy tilted his head, watching the woman breathe heavily as her eyelids started to drop, "Ah, I just love seeing people loose to me!" He laughed yet again. "Y..you won't get away with this.. Buggy....." Miyu managed to speak through her dizziness, her voice quiet but still audible.
"Oh, yes I will. Now, nighty night." He booped her nose with his finger before her eyes shut closed and her body fell onto the boat. The man with green hair let go of her arms, looking at his boss. "We should go now."
