Part 100 omg.

Question of the Chapter - How are you guys feeling about the chapter 4.23 being the last?

----------

I walked past the fighting, my one mission to get over to Stiles and deal with him quickly. As I went, Isaac stepped in front of me, claws and fangs bared.

"Riley, I don't know what's wrong, but this isn't you," he growled.

I had more trouble than usual brushing off his words. I had been more than willing to help Void before; what had changed?
Shaking it off, I used my abilities to push him away from me, "I guess you don't know me as well as you thought you did."

He tried to follow me, but the oni kept him busy. Heading down the tunnel, I was met with Stiles, Lydia and Scott.

Scott immediately retracted his claws, ready to attack. Smirking, I pushed his hand away from me. "We both know you're not going to do anything with those, Scottie. Besides, you should really save them for the oni."

His eyes widened, before he glanced down to Lydia. "Go," she told him. "She won't hurt us."

Scott hesitated, before pushing past me and running down the narrow tunnel.

Playing with the air in the tunnel, I pinned Lydia to a wall. "Don't be so sure, Lydia."

"You won't," she repeated. "I was there with you and him, remember. I saw how you reacted. You don't want to do this."

I pulled tighter on her oxygen supply until she stopped speaking. "I think, you should stop making assumptions like that."

"Riley," Stiles said weakly. "Riley, you're stronger than this. Come back to me, please."

"You're too late. He understands me."

He shook his head, "No. We said we would never leave each other. We made a deal. And I plan on holding you to that."
Stiles used the wall to help himself climb to his feet, "And if he understood you, he wouldn't be making you kill your friends. He's just using you."

Was Stiles right?
"How do I know you're not just saying that to get me to stop?"

"You don't," he admitted. "But I'm not the Trickster, and you know it. If you don't believe me. . . than kill me."

"Stiles," Lydia choked out.

The boy stepped closer to me, holding my hand. "It's okay. I'm dying anyway. If you need to, and that's what saves you and makes you realise, then I'm okay with it."

I felt my grip on Lydia loosening. I looked down to see her holding her throat. What was I doing?

Dropping my hold completely, I stared at Stiles for a moment, before turning and running. If Void wanted him dead, he could do it himself.

As I ran through the tunnel, the sound of Lydia screaming Allison's name following me. I stopped in my tracks. Listening, I heard her shallow breaths. She was dying.

I felt a hand grab my arm, and then I was gone in a puff of darkness. When the shadow disappeared, I saw that I was no longer in the tunnels at Oak Creek.

Turning, I saw a bed and a desk. I was in Stiles' bedroom. The hand was still on my arm, and I saw that it was Void holding me.

"You killed her," I said softly. "Why would you do that?"

"You told them you would kill them," he reminded me.

"To cause chaos, just like we said. I never agreed to any of them dying."

"I don't really care. I came here to cause chaos, and strife, and pain," he growled, tightening his grip on my arm. "And what better pain, than losing someone so close to you? The inner strife of a girl realising what she's done?"

Looking down at his hand digging into my arm, I tried to move, but he wouldn't let go. "You're hurting me.

"I was worried that after I separated myself from Stiles, I'd begin to lose my grip on you like I did on the werewolves. I lost you a bit sooner than planned, but no plan is perfect," he shrugged.

So that's why I was beginning to see things straight. That black blood that had dripped from my nose. Whatever he had done to me was wearing off. I was able to fight him out of my head now.

"It's so disappointing, little sylph. I truly needed you," he admitted, tightening his grip further. "But, it looks like you've woken up and I've lost you. And I told you what would happen if you weren't on my side."

"Please, don't."

He moved forward and kissed me roughly, drawing strength from the pain coursing through my body. I didn't respond like I normally did, and I think that's when he finally realised that the connection was completely lost.

Pulling back, he sucked air between his teeth as if considering it, before moving his hand to my throat and slamming me against a wall. My head hit the plaster harshly as he pushed against my throat.
"We could've done great things together. All I asked, was that you kill Stiles. And you couldn't do that."

"Because. . . I love him."
The words felt real, like I was waking up from a terrible nightmare. Every bad thing I had done over the past few days started to flow back in horrible succession. I had nearly killed my friends.

"Well, then this will almost seem like poetry," he chuckled darkly. "Because I'm going to kill you, and then all that camera will see, is a mentally unstable boy, killing his girlfriend. It won't matter anyway, because he'll be dead too. Very Romeo and Juliet."

I tried to speak, but I could barely breath at that point. He pushed me up higher, hand still on my throat. Thinking about what he said, how we were alone, I realised the Oni weren't here.

If they weren't here, then where were they?
They weren't protecting him.

I gathered every ounce of strength remaining in my body and used my ability to draw energy from the air.

"What are you doing?" Void growled, digging his fingers into either side of my neck.

In a burst of rage, I pushed all the energy I had mustered outward. The rush of air threw Void to the other side of the room. He hit the desk rather hard and rolled to the ground.

Without his hand around my throat, I already felt my neck healing.
"I'm not going to let you win," I said, before running for my life.

It was raining when I got outside, the water covering me in moments. When I heard the hum of the Oni, I almost slipped on the wet cement beneath my feet.

Suddenly, I was surrounded with no where to go. I tried to take another step, but the Oni only moved closer.

Slow footsteps approached in the rain. He didn't even have to chase me. "You really think you'll be able to save him? You think you stand a chance against me?"

"In your own words, you're nothing without me. Every step of the way you've needed my help."

"Then let's change the game," he smirked.

Before I could figure out what he meant, one of the Oni stepped forward and drove its blade through my shoulder. Funnily enough, it happened to be the left one, opposite to the one that Matt had shot.

As it removed the blade, I collapsed to the wet ground with a yell. Void walked over, grabbing me by my now injured shoulder. "You think you can win? This is my game."

The Oni and Void disappeared a second later, leaving me bleeding in the middle of the road. Dragging myself out of the rain and back to the Stilinski house, I used the patio as protection from the rain.

Wincing, I pulled down my shirt to see my shoulder. It wasn't healing like it was supposed to. Plus, it seemed to be seeping the same darkness that the Oni were made of.

Just when I thought things couldn't get any worse, my nose began dripping again, black droplets staining my wet jeans. I was dying. I just wondered which would take me out first; my shoulder injury or whatever was happening to my body.

Thankfully, Void hadn't thought to take away my phone. Pulling it out of my pocket, I dialled Lydia. With what had happened, she was the only one who I thought would answer.

When she answered, I heard a sigh come from the other end of the line. "I knew you wouldn't do it."

"Alright, Lydia, you're smart. We get it," I tried to laugh, but the pain in my shoulder was horrible.

"So. . . is this really you?" She asked cautiously. "Are you back?"

Feeling tears in my eyes, I took a shaky breath. "Yeah. I think so."

"Where are you? We'll pick you up on the way."

"On the way where?" I asked, standing up and walking back into the Stilinski house.

"We think we know how to end this."

"Okay, I'm at Stiles'. I'll see you soon."
Hanging up,  I walked into Stiles' room and went over to his dresser. I didn't think he'd mind if I borrowed a shirt. Plus, I didn't want them to know about my wound from the Oni's blade.

Grabbing out one that would be best fitting, I went into the bathroom to change, cleaning my shoulder. After all that I had done, I didn't mind if I died. Just as long as my friends made it out alive.

The Jeep was pulling up at the Stilinski home five minutes later. Lydia jumped out before it was even in park, running over to me and wrapping her arms around me. I clenched my teeth as I tried not to wince at her squeezing my injured shoulder.

"I'm so sorry," I whispered. She tried to tell me it was okay, but it wasn't. I pulled away so I could see her face. "Allison. . . is she. . . did she. . ."

I couldn't even bring myself to say it.

Stiles, Scott and Kira had gotten out of the car also, standing behind Lydia protectively. They still didn't completely trust me. I didn't blame them.

Lydia wiped her eyes as she held back tears, shaking her head. "She didn't make it."

I felt like I had just been punched in the gut. The last time I'd seen Allison, I'd said some truly horrible things to her. "I- I didn't even get to apologise to her."

Scott took a leap of faith, walking forward and embracing me. He must've finally believed that I was me again. "It's okay."

"No, it's not," I sobbed.

"She knew that wasn't you, Ri. She knew, okay? She told me to tell you that it's okay."

I couldn't speak as tears overcame me. Scott pulled away from me, and I was almost hurt, until I realised that he was guiding me into Stiles' arms.

He wrapped his arms around me as tight as he could in his weakened state, holding me close to him. Again, I bit the inside of my cheek to hold back a yelp as pain shot through my shoulder.
"That wasn't you," he whispered. "You have to know that wasn't you."

"But it was," I choked. "I'm sorry, I'm so sorry," I mumbled over and over again into his chest.

"Riley, was that me when the Nogistune had a hold of me?"

I shook my head quickly, "No, of course not."

"Then that wasn't you. It wasn't. The Riley I know would never be capable of it."
His words helped, but they didn't absolve me of all the blame I was directing at myself.

"Hey, guys, I'm sorry, but we really need to go," Scott said softly.

Stepping away from Stiles, I wiped my eyes and nodded. "Let's go kill this bastard."

We all piled into the Jeep and drove to the school. Apparently they had found out that that was where the Nogitsune was going to be.

Since Stiles was so weak, I had his arm over my good shoulder to help him stay standing. At first, I suggested he stay behind, but he said there was no way he'd be doing that.

Just as we were about to rush inside, Stiles got us to stop. "Scott, hold on. I know what you're all thinking. If this works, it might kill me, too."

I shook my head, "Stiles-"

"No," he immediately cut me off. "Even if it does, you have to go through with it. Stick with the plan, okay?"

Scott looked him dead in the eyes, "The plan is to save you. That's the plan I'm going with."

Stiles looked so pale, like all the blood had been drained from his face. He almost looked like the Nogitsune had when he was Void.

"We're not going to let you die," I told him. It was the first thing I had been certain of in so long.

Stiles didn't say anything, so we all started moving again. Opening the doors to the school we walked in, but when we were inside, it wasn't the school.

We were in a snow covered Japanese courtyard with trees and ornaments. This was definitely not the school hallway.

Walking to the centre of the courtyard, we made sure to remain alert. We had no idea what we were about to face. When the door shut behind us, I jumped a little.

I was a bit on edge ever since Void had attempted to kill me.

Stiles detached himself from me, walking away to look at the place better. "Oh, this is definitely not part of the plan."

"When do things ever go our way, though?" I sighed.

Stiles was looking at me with worried eyes, "Riley, your nose."

I wiped beneath my nose and looked at my hand, to see it smeared with what looked like black blood. So much for not letting him know.

"What's going on with you?"

"Nothing," I said quickly, wiping away the rest of the black blood. "I'm fine. Let's just end this."

Snow started to fall, and Kira held her hand out to catch it. This was one of the most confusing situations we had been in.

I was about to suggest we leave, when I heard footsteps. Turning around, I saw the Nogitsune walking into the courtyard. He was back to his original form, wrapped in bandages with silver teeth.

Kira brandished her katana as the Nogitsune got closer.

"Like I promised, Stiles," The Nogitsune growled. "We're going to kill all of them. One by one."
