Sam's Outfit

"So...are you and Alex back together?" Dana asked me, propping herself up to face me.

Dana and I were having a sleepover together, just the two of us, which was something that we hadn't had for awhile.

"Umm, not really. I mean, we're friends again and we're both single, but that's about it", I replied.

"So you're gonna become friends that make out?" Dana questioned.

"Ew, no!" I said, taking a handful of M&M's out of the bowl and stuffing them in my mouth.

"Sure Sammie...." Dana said.

"What's that supposed to mean?" I asked.

"That's how Jade and I started out. Just as friends who were both single, and then BAM! We kissed once and then we were suddenly together. That's exactly what's gonna happen with you and Alex. I can feel it", Dana said.

"That's not gonna happen. I mean, for one, you and Jade weren't exes who decided to be friends again like Alex and I are. Plus, you two are perfect for one another and anyone can see that. Alex and I? Not so much", I said.

Dana rolled her eyes and took a handful of candy.

"You're in denial", she said in a sing-song voice.

"Ok, maybe I still like him! But I doubt he likes me back! I mean, him and that bitch Nora literally just broke up!" I said.

"Ha! I knew it!" Dana shouted out.

"Are you proud of yourself?" I asked.

"Maybe. But in all seriousness, I can tell that you still like him. I mean, I know he was an absolute dick when it came to all the Nora stuff, and half of me really wants to tell you to never speak to him again, but I can just tell how much you still like him!" Dana said.

"How can you tell? I mean, you're right of course. But how did you know?" I asked.

"Because anytime you even mention him you have that little goofy grin on your face. And also, I saw you two in English class yesterday. You were basically flirting over the SAT vocab", Dana said.

"Flirting over the SAT vocab? That's an Elena and Syd thing. But yeah, I guess we were a little flirty yesterday", I said.

"A little flirty? You two were like three steps away from just plain making out in the middle of class. You could practically FEEL the chemistry between you two", Dana said.

"I feel like you're just saying that! I mean, I doubt he feels the same about me! Especially after all the shit we've been through together!" I said.
"Well, ok, then why are you wearing the locket he gave you? I thought you gave it back to him", Dana said.

"Umm, because when I was over at his house last week, he gave it back to me because he said that it was just sitting there and there was no point in not giving it back to me", I said.

"Oh my god! He gave it back because he still likes you! You're gonna get back together! I can feel it!" Dana squealed.

"I don't think he gave it back because he still likes me, Dana", I said.

"He gave it back because he still has feelings for you, Sammie!" Dana said.

"Really? You think so?" I asked, blushing.

"Yes!" Dana squealed.

I blushed and turned back to the TV. I hoped she was right.
