Sam's Outfit

It was December 24, 2019, and it was officially our first day in NYC. We'd flown in from LA last night, and had gone straight to our hotel room, so this would be our first full day in the city.

I hadn't planned on visiting NYC for Christmas, but on Thanksgiving we'd been eating at the Alavarez's and had all gone around the table and talked about our dream Christmas or whatever. I'd said that mine would be to spend Christmas in NYC at the Plaza Hotel like in Home Alone 2, and I guess that Schneider had really taken that to heart.

As part of my Christmas gift this year, he had decided to pay for him, me, Avery, and the Alvarez's to spend a couple weeks in NYC for Christmas. He'd also allowed me to bring Dana and Jade, who believe it or not, were also both allowed to come with. Syd would also be coming with us, which Elena was super happy about.

We'd be staying in the city until the day after New Years Day.

The trip had kind of been a surprise for me, and I honestly couldn't believe that it was even happening to me.

Schneider had splurged for a big suite room at the Plaza Hotel, because he was really taking the whole Home Alone 2 fantasy to the max. It was a super cool hotel room, and the room situation was crazy.

I'd be sharing a room with Dana and Elena that had two gigantic king size beds, a bathroom, and a gigantic television.

On the first morning in New York, I had gotten up super early, done my hair and makeup, put in my contacts, and dressed in an outfit that was both cute and comfy at the same time. It was super cold in NYC, so I dressed in way more layers then I usually did.

Lydia and Penelope were going to go visit St Patrick's Cathedral, and they were also just gonna go explore the city. Schneider and Avery had plans to go buy some gifts and pick up some stuff for a 'surprise', and Elena, Syd, Dana, Jade, Alex, and I were gonna just walk around and explore.

Alex and I were definitely on better terms as of now, but we weren't back together or anything. We were what Dana called 'friends with benefits without the benefits', whatever that meant.

Once we were all dressed, we headed the few blocks over to Time's Square, where we would be starting out our 'exploring' at.

"Hey, we're gonna go try and find The Strand bookstore! We'll text you when we're done", Elena said.

"Ooh! Have fun!" I smiled.

"You should totally pick me out a book. I'm feeling in the mood for a murder mystery", Jade said to Elena and Syd.

Syd laughed, "We'll try and find something. Do you guys want anything too?" They asked, pointing to Alex, Dana, and I.

"Well...since you asked", Dana said sarcastically.
"She's kidding...she's kidding", Jade laughed.

"Have fun! Don't get lost! Stick together!" I said jokingly.

"Ok, Mom", Syd said sarcastically, rolling their eyes.

The two of them left to go to the bookstore.

"So, where to now?" Alex asked.

"Well, I wanna go get my picture in front of the Hamilton marquee", Dana said.

"Same!" I laughed.

"Let's go to the M&M's store first, because it's right here and I'm hungry. Mostly, because I'm hungry", Jade said.

"Awesome! I read online once that you can actually get people's faces printed on M&M's at that store", Dana said.

"Don't tell that to my Abuela. If she knew, we'd have bowls and bowls of M&M's at home with my face on them", Alex said, shuddering.

I burst out laughing, "You know I have to get some of those to give to her on Christmas, right?"

"Well, if you do that, then I'll get your Bat Mitzvah picture printed on a bunch of M&M's to give to Schneider for Christmas", Alex said.

I gasped, "You wouldn't!"

"I would", he laughed.

"Ew guys, get a room!" Dana said jokingly, holding open the door to the M&M's store for all of us.

I blushed and quickly walked into the store.

After spending wayyyy too much time and money on M&M's, we left the store.

"Ok, how did that cost $75? All we did was buy like five big bags of M&M's. There's no way they cost like 15 bucks each", I said.

"Sorry! I wanted to get an extra bag of Pride M&M's for Elena and Syd!" Jade said.

"And I had to buy that M&M's tote bag. Because why not", I said.

Alex smiled at me, rolling his eyes slightly.

"Do y'all wanna go to Sephora now?" Dana asked.

"Me! I do!" I exclaimed

"Alex and I are gonna go get Starbucks while you do that!" Jade laughed.
"Caramel Frappuccino for you, right Sam?" Alex asked.

I laughed, "Yep!"

"I want a Mango Dragonfruit refresher!" Dana called after Alex and Jade as they left the store.

Once they were out of earshot, Dana turned to me.

"You know he totally still likes you, right?" Dana asked.

I jumped, almost dropping the eye shadow palette I was looking at.

"What, he does!" Dana said.

"No! First of all, he doesn't. Second of all, what makes you think that?" I asked, blushing.

"Oh, c'mon! He knows your whole coffee order! And the way he was looking at you, Ughh! So cute!" Dana exclaimed.

"Umm, no! First of all, he knows my order because I'm a coffee addict and have a caramel Frappuccino with me all the time. Second of all, he was just looking at me just like any regular person looks at any other regular person!" I said.

"Hypocrite!" Dana exclaimed.

"Wait, what? Why?" I asked.

"When we were watching that one episode of Glee together, you said that Blaine and Kurt were meant to be because Blaine knew Kurt's coffee order!" Dana said.

I rolled my eyes, "I just said that because I have always and will always ship them", I said.

"Mhmm", Dana said to me.

"What's that supposed to mean?!" I asked.

"You're oblivious, you know that?", she said.

"I am not! Besides, even if he did decide he liked me again, I'm not sure I wanna go through all that shit with him again", I said.

"That's valid. I'm just saying that it seems to me like the two of you are still having some feelings for one another", Dana shrugged.

"Well, I guess time will tell", I said, turning back to the display we were looking at.

We shopped for a little bit more, and then once we were in the checkout line, Jade and Alex came back with our coffees.

"Yay! Thank you!" Dana said, taking her cup from Jade.

I took a sip of my drink after getting the cup from Alex, "Ooh! You remembered the extra pump of caramel!" I said.
"Yep", Alex said, smiling softly at me.

Dana and Jade both gave me a knowing look, before all our phones buzzed simultaneously.

It was a text from Schneider, about the surprise that him and Avery were picking up for us.

I legit squealed right then and there when I read it.

"Oh my gosh! They got us tickets for Hamilton on the 27!" I exclaimed, practically jumping from excitement.

"No fucking way!!" Dana gasped.

"Yes fucking way!" I squealed.

Dana and I had been huge Hamilton fans since like 7th grade, so we were both trying not to scream and scare everyone else in the store.

I mean, Hamilton, seriously? How could this trip get any better?

Well, little did I know that it was gonna get a hella lot better then that!

Author's Note! Hey everyone! Sorry for the long delay in updates- online school has been hell. This chapter's not the best, but the main purpose is just to set up the New York trip and all the other cool little events I'm gonna have happen there! I hope you enjoyed this chapter, and I plan to update sometime next week!
