"In five, four, three, two.." One of the staff left the stage as the host stepped up, making the audience cheer.

"Good evening, and welcome to.."

"Swellview's got talent!" The crowd continued before cheering

"I'm Danny Chest." the host said

"WE LOVE YOU DANNY CHEST!" One of the members of the audience yelled as the crowd began cheering

"Alright ladies, try to control yourselves." Danny chuckled "Now, let's take a minute to say hello to this week's celebrity judges! Starting with chair number one.. Everybody knows basketball's biggest superstar, LeBron James!"

The audience cheered.

"So let's all welcome LeBron's childhood friend.. Vanessa Harris!"

The crowd applauded lightly before Vanessa tried to spin a basketball but failed.

"And next.. The guys filling judge's chairs numbers two, three, and four are no strangers to anyone here in Swellview. Now give it up for Captain Man, Kid Danger, and Danger Girl!"

The crowd bursted in applauds.

"Hi Danny Chest."

"Sup Danny?"

"Hey Danny."

"Chest." Kid Danger added

"Alright then. Since we're nearing the end of this competition, do you guys think that any of the performers this week can beat our current front-runner?" the host asked

"Ooo, man. That's a tough one." I spoke into the mic

"That's uh, hard to say."

"That's a hard one. "

"Uhm, if I had to say, I'd say no." Kid Danger stated

"'Cause I could say yes, but the truth really is no."

"Unless you think.."

"But I mean.."

"Nah, no, no, no, no."

"Nope."

"Nuh-uh."

"Well, clearly our judges think that our current front-runner, Steven Sharp, is gonna be pretty tough to beat. And I'll show you why. Come on out here, Steven!"

The crowd applauded as Steven ran around the stage before high-fiving Danny.

"Last week, this guy wowed us with his talent for throwing Cuban zip spikes." Danny remarked before turning to the boy "Can you give us a little taste of that again?"

"Of course. How about I throw one at camera two?" he looks pointed out

"O-okay, camera two. Fantastic." Danny beamed

Steven turned around and threw the zip spike directly at a camera, leaving the crowd amazed and shocked.

"Wow." I gaped, cheering along with the crowd.

"Thank you! I'm Steven! Thank you for applauding my talent!" he bowed down before exiting the stage

"Alright, let's bring out our first new performer of the evening. Please give an SGT welcome to... Harry Hoagie!" Danny beamed

A man pulling out a huge cart with a long sandwich on top walked on stage as the crowd cheered for him.

"Hey there, Harry." Captain Man spoke up

"Hi, Harry." Kid Danger added

"What's up, Harry?" I continued

"I used to know LeBron James." Vanessa chimed in

I cleared my throat "So, Harry. Tell us what we're gonna see you do tonight."

"Well, I'm gonna eat this entire six foot submarine sandwich in less than sixty seconds." he stated

"Okay! Sixty seconds on the clock!" Danny said as a timer appeared behind him "Alright, ready.. Set.."

"Go!" the crowd continued

Harry shoved his face in the sandwich but stopped and started shaking uncontrollably with his tongue out, he spun around and eventually fell to the floor.

"Okay, that's uh.." Captain Man started clapping.

"Don't- don't clap right now." Kid Danger demanded

"I was just trying to be supportive."

"No that was not supposed-"

"Sure that's not part of the.."

"Yes. Nope. Not supposed to happen."

Some staff members came to drag him and the sandwich out.

"Okay.. Not sure what's wrong with Harry. But no worries! Because our next two performers are about to dance their way into your hearts. Here is Carl Markus and Piper Hart!"

The crowd applauded as Piper and another boy walked on stage.

"So, how long have you two been dance partners?" Danny turned to the two kids

"For about six months." Piper answered

"And what's your favorite kind of dancing?"

"The kind that wins Swellview's Got Talent."

"Alright.. Well kids, let's see what you got!"

"Okay." music started playing as Piper and Carl started dancing

Captain Man started dancing in his seat.

"Nope, no. Don't do that." I stopped him as he continued dancing

They were doing really well they started shaking weirdly and fell to the floor.

Danny walked back on stage "Obviously a major malfunction."

"Again? 'Cause that's what the last guy did." Captain Man remarked

"Hey guys, come here." Charlotte called out

"Okay, what do you got?" my dad asked as Henry and I followed him

"Alright, check this out.. Last night, Henry's sister and two other performers all freaked out in the exact same way. First, the sandwich guy.." she played a video of Harry shaking and falling to the ground

"Just like Carl Markus and Henry's sister did." my dad pointed out

"Maybe they all got sick." Schwoz suggested

"Nah, Piper was fine right before the show, and she was totally fine right after." Henry stated

"Well, if they didn't get sick then somebody did something to them." I chimed in "But why?"

"And who?"

"And where?"

We all turned to look at my dad.

"At.. At the show." Henry reminded him

"Huh?" my dad turned to him

"You said- you said 'where'. Right? We- we know where."

"At the show." I added

"Okay, do you two always have to criticize me when I'm trying to figure things out?"

"Wait, what?"

"We were just- we were just-"

"Y'know, sometimes a little encouragement would be helpful, y'know? A kind word? Maybe a hug?"

"I- I always hug you before I go to sleep." I furrowed my eyebrows

"Maybe that's not enough." he muttered

Henry and I looked at each other.

"Uh, we're- we're sorry. Here you.. You wanna hug? Let's- let's hug." Henry and I started approaching him

"Not now, I don't want your hugs now." he backed away

"What? Okay, you just said you wanted a hug." I remarked

"We're gonna give you a--"

"Yeah, when you want to, okay? I don't want a hug from you two right after I tell you I want a hug. I only want it to happen 'cause you wanna hug me, when it's your idea, not 'cause I had to ask for it." my dad spat out

"Anywaaaay." Charlotte chimed in "So.. What's our plan?"

Henry sighed "Well, they're letting the people who passed out last night perform again tonight."

Charlotte tilted her head "Oh. So you, Dria, and Ray will be there as judges, so just keep an eye out for anyone backstage-"

"No, no, no, no. Bad idea, bad idea. " my dad cut her off

"Pardon?" she glared at him

"Henry, Dria, and I are gonna be stuck at the judges table. So we can't sneak backstage to figure out what's going on." my dad explained "What's the matter with you?"

"Oh no, hai finito per..." I shook my head
(Oh no, you're done for...)

"Y'know, sometimes I like kind words and hugs too."

"Oh, grow up." my dad walked away

"Well fine. Then let's hear your great idea." Charlotte said

"Sure." my dad turned around "During the show, you and Schwoz sneak backstage, so you two can look around and try to figure out what's goin' on."

"Nah nah.. They only let the stage crew and performers backstage." I remarked

"True." my dad stroked his chin before snapping his fingers "Charlotte, go buy yourself some boy dancing clothes."

"Huh?"

"Don't say 'huh' just do it." he got up "Schwoz, go buy a blonde wig and a little girl's sequined jacket." my dad demanded

"Already got 'em." Schwoz stated, earning weird looks from all of us

I opened up my arms "Now?"

"..Yeah okay." my dad smiled widely, pulling Henry and I into a hug

Captain Man, Kid Danger, and I walked backstage.

"Hey, hey.. There's my sister and her dance partner." Kid Danger pointed out

"Right. Let's get over there." we started approaching them

"Excuse me, Captain Man and Danger Girl?" Steven cut us off

"Uh. Yeah, what?"

"Uh, I'm Steven Sharp."

"Oh yeah, how ya doin'?" Kid Danger tried to shake his hand

"I'm talking to Captain Man and Danger Girl." he cut him off

"Oh. Well okay."

"Uh.. What is that?" I pointed to the ferret he was holding

"Oh- uh, this is my ferret, Fosset." he beamed

"Your ferret?" Captain Man asked

"Fosset?" Kid Danger added

"He brings me good luck when I rub him. And so I share my ferret with others, so that all may have good luck." he smiled creepily

Kid Danger nudged me, making me speak up "Cool. Well, see ya."

Steven nodded before walking away.

"Have a good one." Kid Danger waved

"I was talking to Captain Man and Danger Girl!!"

"Wow. Okay." Kid Danger nodded before we walked up to Piper

"Hey, look. It's the president of the Man Fans." Captain Man beamed

"Oh, hey, Captain Man!" Piper exclaimed "I'm really sorry we spazzed out and fainted last night. I have no idea what happened.."

Kid Danger and I turned her dance partner around and sprayed him.

"Wait. What are you.." Piper and her partner fell unconscious but we caught them before they could fall.

I yanked off Carl's I.D. as we dropped him and Piper to the floor and dragged them behind a curtain.

"Alright." Captain Man sighed before he noticed Piper's leg was sticking out so he shoved her back inside "There."

Kid Danger opened the door "Charlotte, Schwoz, get in here."

Charlotte and Schwoz walked in, wearing their ridiculous disguises.

Captain Man placed the I.D. over Schwoz "Okay.. Now you're Piper."

"And you're Carl." I put the I.D. on Charlotte

"Fine. But I am NOT going out there and dancing."

"No. You won't have to." Kid Danger reassured "We'll figure out who's sabotaging the performers before you guys get called to go on."

"Right, so just hang out back here and keep your eyes open." Captain Man instructed

"We'll do it." Schwoz nodded

Captain Man, Kid Danger, and I nodded before walking away.

One of the staff members stopped us "Hey. Where you three goin'?"

"Oh, we're judges. We're supposed to be out--" Kid Danger cut me off

"Wait.. Jasper?"

"Yeah! Look, I'm here!" Jasper beamed

"Aw." I groaned

"Why?!" Captain Man whisper-yelled

"To help!" he whispered

"You're supposed to be at Junk N' Stuff watching the store!" I scolded

"Well I wanna help solve this crime."

"That's it, I'm gonna wreck this kid." Captain Man tried to lunge at Jasper but Kid Danger and I were quick to stop him

"Sixty seconds to air." a voice announced

"You don't have time." Kid Danger spoke up before turning to Jasper "Jasper, don't cause any problems. Alright?"

"Do you guys like my beard?" Jasper blurted out

Captain Man tried to lunge at him again.

"No. Hey, hey, hey!" I stopped him

"Just let me hurt him!"

The crowd started applauding loudly as Danny Chest walked on stage.

"Heyo!" Danny yelled "And welcome again to.."

"Swellview's Got Talent!" the crowd yelled

"Alright! I'm Danny Chest."

"WE LOVE YOU DANNY CHEST!" a girl from the crowd yelled

"Okayy.. Now, last night we had some problems here. So, tonight is gonna be a kind of do-over type deal. Sound good?"

The crowd cheered in response.

"Cool. Thanks for buyin' into the premise. Okay! First up, this guy can actually eat a.." Danny got cut off by a staff member running onto stage and whispering something to him.

"Uh-huh.. Oh really? Apparently we had a sandwich sitch backstage, so we're gonna show you that guy later. And instead, we're gonna start off the show with two amazing kid dancers. So let's bring 'em out!"

Oh shit.

"Carl Markus and Piper Hart!" Danny yelled

"Uh-oh." I muttered

"This should be interesting." Captain Man smirked

"Piper and Carl!" Danny called out but no one came on stage

"On their way!" he added

"Alright, let's give Piper and Carl some encouragement!" Danny yelled as Charlotte and Schwoz got shoved onto stage

"Dude, we told 'em they wouldn't have to dance." Kid Danger whispered

"I know." Captain Man smirked while Charlotte tried to escape but was stopped by a staff member.

"Well, Charlotte and Schwoz haven't even rehearsed! What are we gonna do?" I whispered

"Watch. Probably laugh." Captain Man said blankly "Then judge."

"So, are you guys feeling better after what happened last night?" Danny questioned

"Uh, uh- yeah.. Much better." Charlotte said in a deep voice

"Alright kids, let's see what you got." Danny started walking away

I gave Charlotte and Schwoz a cheeky grin and a thumbs up, earning a glare from the girl.

Music started playing and almost immediately, Schwoz started dancing, signaling to Charlotte to start dancing aswell.

Schwoz dragged Charlotte next to him as they both started dancing while Captain Man, Kid Danger, and I were sniggering at the judges' table.

The two kept dancing, Schwoz seemed so into it while Charlotte was trying to figure out what to do next as we kept giggling.

Suddenly, Steven ran on stage "Stop the show!"

"Thank you!" Charlotte ran off the stage

"Now, Steven-" Danny walked in "You're not supposed to be on stage."

"You shut your stupid mouth, Danny Chest!"

The crowd gasped.

"Wow." I muttered

"Uh, son, why don't you get off the stage 'til it's your turn." Captain Man suggested

"No! I came on this show to win back my girlfriend! 'Cause Kid Danger stole her from me!"

I furrowed my eyebrows and stared at Kid Danger.

The crowd gasped as the other judge yelled.

"Dude, I never stole your girlfriend." Kid Danger spoke up

"You did too!"

"Now, now- Steven-"

"Back off, Danny Chest!" he pointed something at him

"Hey!" Danny stepped back

"My girlfriend used to love me! Until you got to be Captain Man's sidekick! Then she got all obsessed with the cool, good-looking Kid Danger!"

"What she look like, is she cute?" Kid Danger teased

"She got a mom?" Captain Man spoke into the mic

"Or an older brother?" I added, leaning forward into the mic

"You distracted my girlfriend, so now.. Prepare to eat spike!" Steven pulled out a spike, making us automatically get up

"Steven! Don't be insane! Kid Danger has hypermotility." I remarked

"Wait, what's that? Some disease?" he asked

"No. It's a superpower." Kid Danger explained "It means that if he throws a Cuban zip spike at me, I can just knock it away."

"Oh yeah? Let's see you try!" Steven threw a zip spike at Kid Danger but he quickly dodged it, hitting a random person in the audience.

"Uh.. Is there a nurse in the audience?" the man asked

Steven chucked another spike at Kid Danger, he swiftly deflected it and it hit the same guy in the audience.

"Could I switch seats with you?" the man asked the woman next to him

"Alright! Maybe I can't hurt Kid Danger.. Or Captain Man. Especially Danger Girl.. But I can hurt Danny Chest!" he pointed a zip spike at him

"You leave Danny Chest alone!" Schwoz yelled before jumping onto Steven's back

"Security! Security!" one of the staff members yelled before security started running on stage

"Should we uh.." Captain Man muttered

"Ehh.."

"Maybe we should.."

"Just jump in there? I mean, we are superheroes.."

"Nah, he's good. He's good."

"They got it. They got it."

"Nah, it's fine." We sat back down on our seats

"No! No! I did it for my girlfriend!" Steven yelled as he got dragged away by security "I just wanted my girlfriend back!"

"Wow!" Danny exclaimed "Well, you all just saw it live, right here on Swellview's Got Talent! Piper Hart just saved my life!"

Schwoz quickly threw himself around Danny "Danny Chest! I love you!"

The crowd applauded wildly as some people threw flowers at Schwoz.

Piper walked on stage.

Shit.

Schwoz quickly ran off stage with the flowers in his hands.

"What the butt happened?!"
