We all paced around the Man Cave, waiting for Henry to arrive.

"How could you give Henry a cookie contaminated with Comodium Acitate!?" I yelled at Schwoz

"I'm sorry! It looks exactly like sugar and I keep it in the kitchen! Right next to the sugar.."

"Well where'd you get that idea!? poorjudgement.gov?!"

Charlotte pulled out her phone "Hey, Henry's on his way down."

"Okay, let's not freak Henry out anymore than he already is, Alright?" my dad chimed in

"When he gets down here, everybody just act normal, happy, natural. Okay?" he instructed

We all nodded "Okay."

The elevator doors opened and Henry walked out "Hi, I'm here." He had a concerned look on his face

"Hi.." We all waved at him awkwardly

Henry looked at us weirdly.

"How are ya Hen?" I chimed in

"Uh..what goes on.?" My dad asked

"Your sister won't die." Schwoz blurted out

"What." Henry looked at him wide-eyed

"Schwoz!" my dad scolded

"You told us to act like everything is okay!"

"Then why talk about dying?" Charlotte asked

"I said she won't!"

"Well we don't know that do we!?" I scolded

"Oh my God! Is my sister gonna-" he got interrupted by his phone ringing. He sighed before pulling out his phone

"Who's that?" I ask

"It's Jasper. He wants to video chat." Henry started to walk to the elevator

"Where are you going?" Schwoz questioned him

"To the elevator. I can't let him see me in the Man Cave." Henry went in the elevator and gestured for us to wait before the doors closed.

A few seconds later, Henry got out of the elevator "Okay, Schwoz what's gonna happen to my sister?"

"This." Schwoz showed a picture of a lady with blisters and boils and we all screamed at the sight.

"What is wrong with that lady." I ask

"She has.." a text showed up next to the photo

"Ox Pox." my dad read on the screen

"Okay, what is 'Ox Pox'?" Henry wondered

Schwoz put his feet up on the table "Ox Pox is kinda like a Chicken Pox and Measles.. Only way worse. It is caused by eating Comodium Acitate."

"But I thought no one's had Ox Pox for hundreds of years.." Charlotte remarked

"Yeah. Till' Schwoz's disease cookie gave it to my sister." Henry rubbed the bridge of his nose and sighed

My dad walked up to him with a hand on his shoulder "Hey. I'm sorry for your loss."

"What."

"Dad!"

"Piper.. She was a sweet little girl." my dad stared into the distance

"Okay, first." Henry removed my dad's hand from his shoulder "No she wasn't."

I rolled my eyes "Can we please stop talking about her in past-tense?"

He walked up to Schwoz "Kay. What's the cure for Ox Pox?"

"Here!" Charlotte chimed in "It says that in the 16 and 1700s, doctors used to cure Ox Pox by making a special medicine from the feathers of a bird known as.. The Chica-willow." she explained

"But the Chica-willow has been extinct for almost 300 years.." my dad reminded

"Well, we need one. Or else.." Henry turned to me and Schwoz "What happens to my sister..?"

Me and Schwoz glanced at each other before I put both my hands on Henry's shoulder "I'm sorry for your loss."

"Okay. No one's allowed to say that again."

"Wait a second.." my dad chimed in "I think I know how we can get a Chica-willow."

"There are no more Chica-willows." Charlotte remarked

"Not now.. But we have something right here in storage that could help us get a Chica-willow from the past."

"Time Jerker's time machine." I caught on to my dad's idea

"Yeah!"

"Yeah. And we could use it to go back in time to the early 1700s." Schwoz beamed

"And get a Chica-willow." Henry added

"But- Wait, isn't that dangerous?" Charlotte chimed in

"Oh my God." We all groaned

"Just once Charlotte, do not be a Debbie Downer." I pointed at her

"Really." Henry agreed with me

"Oh, well I'm so sorry I suggested that it might be a little bit dangerous to send someone 300 years back in time to get some stupid ancient bird so we can cure your sister's Ox Pox, which was caused by this freak show's Comodium sassafras-contaminated cookies!" Charlotte scolded

We all stared at her.

"Yeah. I'm the crazy one here!" She scoffed

"Okay. I'm ready to test the time machine." Schwoz said

"How are we gonna test it?" I ask him

"See, I will take this fris-"

"No! No, no!" We all stopped him

He sighed "This flying disk."

"Okay." We let him continue

"And I will throw it 5 seconds into the future." Schwoz set up the time machine

The time machine lit up "Here goes." Scheoz threw the fri- flying disk inside the portal

Schwoz counted down "4, 3, 2, 1." The flying disk came back and hit Charlotte in the head

"Yes!"

Henry picked up the flying disk "Yes, the time machine worked!" he and my dad high-fived

"Charlotte!" I helped her up

"Yeah. And I'm okay! In case anyone cares aside from Dria."

"Just tell me where to send Ray." Schwoz instructed

"Yeah, where?" my dad asked

"Well, it says here 'In the year 1709, the greatest number of wild Chica-willows lived in the northern region of Alaska now known as Prudo Bay.'." Charlotte read

"Alright Schwoz, send me to Prudo Bay, Alaska, 1709." my dad demanded as he popped a gumball in his mouth

He blew the bubble, making him transform into Captain Man.

"Oh, hey. You better put on a coat, Alaska's pretty cold." I advised him

Captain Man scoffed "I won't need a coat. I'm just gonna pop back to the past," he grabbed a sack "Grab a Chica-willow, and Schwoz is gonna pull me right back here. And now, to Alaska!" he ran straight through the unlit portal

Henry smacked his lips "I think the time portal needs to be on."

"Right."

Schwoz flipped a switch and the portal lit up "Okay, ready."

"And now, to Alaska. In the year 1709!" Captain Man ran through the portal

"Captain Man to the Man Cave. Captain Man to the Man Cave." he said through the intercom

"Yeah, we hear you dad." I smile widely

"Man, Alaska be cold!"

"Well, I told you to take a coat."

"Ooh, sorry mom."

"Yeah, you wish I was your mom." I scoff

"What does that mean?" Charlotte asked

"I don't know."

Henry's phone rang.

"Jasper again?" I ask

He groaned "Yep. Be right back." he went back inside the elevator

A few seconds later, Henry went back in the Man Cave.

"How's it going, Ray?" Charlotte asked "Did you get a Chica-willow?"

"Almost! In the sack. That's a good bird, there you go. Got him!" Captain Man yelled

"Yes!" We all cheered

"Now bring me back to the present!"

"Stand by." Schwoz reactivated the machine

The portal lit up and an old man came out.

The old man sat upright "I'm o-" he groaned "-kay!"

Me and Charlotte helped the old man up.

"Where am I?" the old man asked

"Schwoz!" I turned to him

"Uhh.."

"That's not Ray.." Henry huffed

"I am too!"

"I-I think that's my dad.. But from the future.."

My dad's eyes widened "Muffin, Henry! You're..you're young lovebirds again!"

"Lovebirds!?" Me and Henry's eyes widened

He turned to Charlotte and gasped "And President Charlotte." he put his hands on her arms "You look just like you used to!"

"And Schwoz!" my dad turned to face him "...you're a man again!"

Huh?

"Guys? I'm ready to come home! Uh, it's really cold in Alaska and I don't have a coat."

"Hah. What kind of an idiot goes to Alaska without a coat?" my old dad said

"Uh.. You?" Henry stared at him

"OH MY GOD!" my old dad suddenly yelled

"What!?" we all asked

"Where'd my toilet paper go!?"

I mentally groaned.

We all stared at my old dad.

"Why are you guys staring at me? Am I drooling?" my old dad pulled out a towel to wipe his mouth

"You guys??? It's like 9 degrees here in Alaska." Captain Man spoke through the intercom "So please bring me back."

"Hang on, Ray." Henry said

"Hang on what?" my old dad asked

"Not you." I reassure

"Hm?"

"Ray, hold on." Henry spoke through the intercom

"No wait!-"

"Dad..?"

My dad turned to me.

"Are you really Ray Manchester..?"

"Of course I am, muffin! What's the matter with you?" He playfully nudged me "Why does everything around here look like it did 50 years ago?"

"You aged amazingly dad.." I smiled softly

"Ah, I know that muffin." He pat my back

I giggled softly as he hugged me tightly.

"Wait.. How old are you?" I gently pulled away from the hug

"I'm 85. But I still look great." he twisted his thigh

"Uh oh, I think I know what went wrong." Schwoz chimed in

"What?" Charlotte asked

"The time machine brought the right Ray but instead of bringing him from the year 1709, it brought him back from 50 years in the future."

"Oh."

"Woah."

"Oh my God.."

"Oh!" my dad chuckled "A blaster!"

"Hey, woah-"

"Dad put that down."

"Hey."

"No, no."

"I haven't seen one of these in a long ti--" he accidentally fired the blaster towards the ceiling

"Oh, you know what? I forgot you gotta put the setting on the--" my dad fired another shot while Henry tried moving closer to him to take the blaster.

My dad chuckled "I don't know what to--" he fired another accidental shot

Henry took the blaster "O-okay.."

"Aw."

"You guys, bring me back!"

"C'mon Schwoz, you gotta get my dad back here before he freezes.."

"And we need that stupid bird's feathers to cure my sister." Henry added

"Will you relax? I'm sure your sister is doing fine." Schwoz reassured

"Ray, you there?" Henry spoke through the intercom while I was pacing anxiously behind him

"Yeah. I'm here.."

"Look, look. I know you're freezing but don't worry. We're gonna try to bring you back. right now." Henry reassured

"Hurry!"

We did multiple attempts to bring back my dad for the past 15 minutes but none of them worked. I was starting to get anxious.

"I need to drink water." I stormed off to my room and slammed the door behind me

"Dri, it's okay.. Your dad is indestructible I'm sure he won't die.. But what if we never get him out of there? No, no.. Schwoz and Charlotte are geniuses they can get him out.." I reassured myself

I paced around my room before grabbing a water bottle and chugging it down.

"My dad is gonna be fine.. But what if he dies? No he can't die he's indestructible. But what if he magically does? I'd be an orphan. No one's gonna be there to save Swellview. Me and Kid Danger can't protect Swellview all by ourselves.. No.. He can't die.."

"What if he gets trapped there? I'd be orphaned.. Dria, you said that twice now. My dad will die of old age there.. What if my kids never get to see their grandpa!?" my breathing became shaky and I felt like I was gonna pass out

"No, no.. Everything is going to be fine. He isn't gonna die.. What if he does? Oh my God my dad is gonna die. He's indestructible though.. What if his body freezes? Then it would be too late.."

"What if--" I heard a loud knock on my door

"Coming.." I open the door

"Dri. C'mon, Schwoz is gonna bring Ray back."

"Seriously!?"

"Yeah!"

I ran over to where Schwoz was and watched him carefully.

The portal lit up and two people went through wearing.. Hogwarts uniforms??

"Merlin's beard, Hermione.. Where are we?"

"The time turner must've malfunctioned.." Hermione spoke up

"Get us out of here Mione!"

"I'm trying!" she grabbed Harry's hand and ran back through the time portal

We all turned to Schwoz.

"Let me try that again.." Schwoz turned back around to the machine

I paced around the Man Cave nervously "Dad? Dad. Dad, do you hear me? C'mon answer me man, Dad!" I yelled which accidentally woke up my old dad

"Muffin.. Forget about me.."

"No, no. We're gonna save you dad." I tried to hold in my tears

"It's too late for me kid. Just- I love you. And I'm so so proud of you. I'm sorry I never got to say it.."

"Dad no.. Don't say that.."

"Sorry kid. Hey, Listen. You are an amazing young woman. And you're going to grow up with a bright futre, okay?"

"I love you.." I spoke up softly, tears slowly falling down my cheeks

"To the moon and back?"

I nodded "To the moon and back.."

"You guys, look. It's 9 degrees below Alaska in 1709.." Henry pointed out

"My dad can't last 10 more minutes in there, what are we gonna do..?"

"I don't know.." Schwoz said

"Hey. Schwoz can't make the machine bring Ray back here, right?" Charlotte chimed in

"Right." we nodded

"Ah sure, I designed and built everything in the whole Man Cave but let's all focus on the one thing I can't do!" Schwoz complained

"Just listen." Charlotte scolded "What if you open up the time portal to Prudo Bay in 1709, and one of us reaches in and grabs Ray and just yanks him back through?"

Me and Henry turned to Schwoz "Would it work?" he asked

"Maybe.. if Ray is close enough for someone to reach in. But it's dangerous.."

"Hey." My old dad chimed in, making us turn to him

"I gotta pee. I'll be back in an hour." he walked away

"Why is it dangerous?" I ask Schwoz

"Because, whatever goes through the portal must keep one art of their body on this side of the machine at all times." Schwoz explained

"Why?" Henry turned to him "What happens if they go all the way through?"

"The portal will close and they would end up stuck in Alaska with Ray." Schwoz answered

"In 1709." Charlotte added

"We might not be able to bring them back." he continued "Ever."

I hesitated for a moment "Well, if one of us is gonna try this.. It's gonna be me.."

"Well duh."

"You think I'm gonna try it?"

"Alright." I scoff "Let's get this over with.." I took a deep breath

"Okay. Ready, Dria?" Schwoz asked

I nodded.

"On two.. one, two."

The portal lit up and I went inside with my leg sticking out on the other side.

I saw Captain Man lying in the snow, all covered in ice "Dad! Dad, it's me!"

"D-did you bring me some pie..?" Captain Man shivered

"Dad! Give me your hand!"

He reached out his hand.

"C'mon, c'mon!" Captain Man grabbed my hand

"Okay, okay! Now the other one!" I cheered "C'mon!"

"O-okay.."

I felt myself lose balance and Henry, Schwoz, and Charlotte grabbed my leg.

"Dri!"

"Be careful!"

"You're going to get through!"

Captain Man grabbed my other hand and I tried pulling him out.

"Okay! Charlotte, Henry, Schwoz! Pull us back through!"

I felt Henry, Charlotte, and Schwoz pull us back and me and my dad went through their end.

Schwoz unlit the portal.

"Dad!" I smiled widely

"Okay, okay. You guys. You warm up Ray, I'mma start taking the feathers off this bird so Schwoz can make the medicine for Piper." Henry opened up the sack and the Chica-willow started flapping its wings

"Wait." Charlotte stopped him "You're not gonna hurt the bird, are you?"

"Uhh. No, no." The bird started flapping again and I saw Henry grab the blaster and went to the other room.
