Audrianna's POV

I was on my phone, texting William while Charlotte was sitting next to me.

Suddenly I felt Henry tap my shoulder.

"Oh my go- Henry! Don't scare me like that!" I flinched

Henry raised his hands up in defense "Sorry. Hey, guys?"

"Yeah, what's up?" Charlotte asked

"Have you guys uh.. have you been noticing anything, like.. weird about Ray?"

"Uhhh, everyday. All the time. Why?"

"When has my dad ever been not weird."

"No-I mean.. he's been talking. Like, when nobody else is around."

Charlotte shut her laptop "You mean.. talking to himself?"

"Yeah. Like full on conversations with people who aren't there."

"Well, my uncle Rosco talks to his food before he eats it."

"What's he say?" I ask curiously

"Stuff like.. 'Well hello, hamburger, you're about to take a trip down to belly town.'." she replied in a deep voice

The sprocket door opened and I heard my dad talking to someone like Henry said.

"Is that a serious question? No I can't ride rollercoasters with you because I have a job. And stop poking me!" My dad said

He noticed us "Hey guys. You find out any more info on that motorcycle thief- will you not stand so close to me!?"

Henry, Charlotte, and I all exchanged weird looks as my dad continued talking.

"I can feel you breathing on my neck." my dad adjusted his shirt "Thank you."

He turned around to us "Why are you guys staring at me?"

"Uh.."

"Because you're talking to nobody." Henry spat out

"Shhhh!!" Charlotte shushed him

"It's got to be said." I gritted through my teeth

"Right. I haven't introduced you to Brad. Brad, this is Henry, Audrianna, and Charlotte. Guys, this is invisible Brad." my dad gestured to him

"Hiiii, Braaad.."

"Sup' Brad?"

"Lookin' good Brad!"

"Brad say hi." my dad demanded "Brad?" he started feeling the air arround him "Ugh, come on Brad. Hate it when he does this."

We awkwardly smiled while my dad kept calling out for Brad.

"Brad? Brad! Where are you!? Come on, this isn't funny anymore man. Brad!"

"This is so sad.." I whispered to Henry

"He's not okay." Henry agreed

"Ah! Gotcha!" my dad was pulling onto something and threw it which made the cart of tools fall down "Come here! Now, say hello to those kids."

"Hey guys." I heard a voice speak "I'm Brad."

My eyes widened, he really was an invisible person.

"There's no such thing as an invisible person!" Charlotte spat out

"Okay, what would make you believe that Brad's real?" my dad asked

"Let's see him slap Henry." I suggested

Henry scoffed "Yeah. Come on, slap me, Brad." he pointed to his cheek "Right here on my--"

He actually got slapped and fell to the ground.

Our mouths were agaped as we looked at Brad in fear "Heeeey, Braaad."

"Hey, pass the ketchup?" Henry asked

"Sure. Here you go." Brad passed him the bottle of ketchup

"So, Brad. I have a question." Charlotte said "Did something make you become invisible or were you just born this way?"

"Nah, nobody's born invisible." the voice came from behind us as we turned around

"Wait. I thought you were sitting right there." I pointed to his seat

"I was. But.. my leg was cramping up so I'm walking around."

"How do we talk to a guy we can't see?" Henry wondered

"Here Brad. Put these on and sit down." my dad handed him a pair of sunglasses

"Yeah, okay." Brad put the sunglasses on

"So, you turned invisible like, when?" Henry asks

"Five years ago. It was all Captain Man's fault."

My dad sighed "Here we go again."

"Well, what happened?" Charlotte asked

"Okay, see I was being chased by this insane criminal who wanted to turn me invisible." he began

"Why?" I ask

"I don't know. Because he hated me and I guess he knew how much I enjoy being visible?"

"Yeah, like I used to be." Brad spat out

"It wasn't my fault."

"Yes it was!"

"Just tell us what happened." I glared at them

"Okay, so, this evil dude was firing at me with his invisiblaster right?"

"I was riding my bike minding my own buisness." Brad continued

"When I dove out of the way, the invisiblaster's beam missed me and--"

"Hit me! That's how Captain Man ruined my life."

"How was I supposed to know you'd be riding your bike right behind me??"

"You owe me."

My dad slammed his chicken on his plate "Look, didn't I lend you four thousand bucks so you could buy that hot tub? Didn't I let you stay here in the Man Cave for two months after your girlfriend dumped you? And who paid for that nose job, huh? This guy."

"Great. Now I have a beautiful nose that no one will ever see."

"Their relationship is really complicated." Charlotte whispered to Henry and I

"What do you want from me, Brad?" My dad asked

Brad threw his glasses away "I want to be your sidekick."

My eyes widened.

"What?" Charlotte asked

"Hey, hey, whoa, whoa, hey! Ray's already got sidekicks, Me and Audrianna."

"You're just kids, who are visible."

"Oh! So you're better than us just because we're visible and you're not?" I spat out and raised my eyebrow

"Alright guys, come on." Charlotte stopped us "Let's not play the visibility card."

"Brad, I think it's time for you to go." my dad ushered him off the couch

"Wait. Think about what a great sidekick I'd be. I could sneak up on bad guys, and then.." Brad punched my dad

"Ow!" He turned to us "I'm okay."

"See? You never saw that punch coming."

"Look, I already have excellent sidekicks and they're Henry and Audrianna."

"Thank you!"

"Alright, what if Henry and Audrianna quit?"

"We're never gonna quit!" Henry objected

"They're not quitting."

"But what if they do? Then what?"

"Alright, Brad. If Henry and Audrianna ever quit, you can be my sidekick, okay? Anything else?"

"Yeah. I want your shirt."

"You can't have my shirt."

Brad ripped off my dad's shirt.

"Hey! Brad!" he tried to grab his shirt back "Give me my shirt back, Brad. Brad!" he covered himself up "Kids, don't- don't look at this."

I covered my eyes. The only person I wanted to see shirtless was Daniel Radcliffe and Tom Fel- I'll stop.

"Okay, seriously, though, it's not funny anymore, so," my dad tried to grab his shirt "Okay."

"I'm out-" I stood up from the couch and headed to my room

I was asleep in my room, but then I was woken up by my lights flickering open.

I sat upright to see who opened the lights but no one was there

"Dad..?"

Then I felt something smack the back of my head.

"Ow!"

"Quit your job!" I heard Brad yelled as the door closed

It was Brad! He smacked me at the back of the head with a book!

How dare he.

"So, I'm sound asleep in my bed and Brad sneaks in to my house and flips my bed over!" Henry whined

"And, he turned the lights on in my room and smacked the back of my head with a book!" I whined

My dad groaned.

"I know, right!?" I yelled

"This game's impossible can't get these ants in this little pair of pants."

"I feel like you're not listening to us." Henry said

My dad rolled his eyes "Look, I know Brad's kind of obnoxious."

"Kind of!? He snuck into my school, put a bucket on my teacher's head, splashed water on my area, and then he spanked my teacher with a mop."

He sighed "Yeah, that's Brad."

"And everytime, before he runs away, he goes, 'Quit your job.'." I mocked Brad

"Hey! Another ant, in the pants." my dad grinned

Henry and I turned around to see a cup of water and a steel pipe floating in the air

"Hey, what is that?" I asked

"I don't know. Looks like a steel pipe and a cup of water. But why would it--"

"Brad!"

"What are you--"

Before Henry could say anything, he got hit in the ankle with the pipe and I got splashed by water.

It wasn't water. It was boiling hot water.

"Crap! It got in my eyes!" I tried to help Henry up but I couldn't really see because my left eye was swelling up by the boiling hot water.

"Brad!" my dad exclaimed

"Quit your jobs!"

"This has to stop Brad!" he scolded

"Oh, why!? Why!? Why!?" Henry yelled in pain

Charlotte and I were at Henry's house.

I had to wear an eyepatch but the doctor said I wasn't gonna go blind. I don't know about Henry though.

"This better work." Henry had a turkey leg against his eye. That probably smells horrible.

"What is that?" Charlotte asks

"Turkey leg." Henry shrugged

He turned to me "How's my eye look?"

I mentally gagged "Put the leg back on it."

"How's your lip?" Henry asked

"Okay." I answered, pouting

I heard the doorbell ring.

"Finally." he limped to the door as I turned to see who it was

It was my dad.

"Your parents here?"

"No, just come in."

"So, what happened now?" my dad asked

"This." Henry showed him his bruised eye

"And this." I pointed to my bleeding lip

"Ahhh! Who gave you the black eye and who made your lip bleed?" My dad asked

"Invisible Brad." I answered

"He punched you guys!?"

"Worse. He shoved my face in sand and used a stick to smack me on the lip!" I complained

"Way worse. I was in gym class today, and I was standing behind Mitch Bilsky." Henry explained

"So what'd Invisible Brad do?"

"He pinched Mitch Bilskey on the butt! To make Mitch think I did it."

"Ooh, yeah. Guys don't like that."

"No they don't." Henry agreed with my dad

"Uh, girls don't like that either, just so you know." Charlotte chimed in

"We got to do something about Brad." I said

"Don't worry, we're gonna get him." My dad, Henry, and I started to sit down

"I doubt it." Brad said

We all screamed and got off the couch.

"Quit your job." Brad pushed Henry and kicked me in the gut.

I leaned onto the sofa for support as Henry fell on the ground.

"You have a beautiful home." Brad said before he left

Henry ran to the door and tried to stop Brad as he repetitively hit the door with the turkey leg

My dad sat me down on the couch and I only hissed in pain. Being kicked in the gut does not feel good at all.

"How do we beat a guy we can't see?"

"Uh, we can fix it so we can see him." Charlotte suggested

"How?" he asked

"Yeah, how?" Henry asked as he sat down next to me

"With paint." Charlotte answered

"Oh, come on how is paint gonna.."

"I don't really think that paint is the answer that we're.."

The boys both realized "Paint!"

"It hurts so bad.." I mumbled to myself

Henry, Charlotte, and I set up a contraption to cover Brad in paint.

"Okay, is the tripwire set?" Henry asked

"Just about." Charlotte answered

"Oh, this is going to be so great. Invisible Brad's going to get covered with red paint, so we'll be able to see him, and then we're going to kick him about fifty times right in his invisible--" I got cut off

"Okay! We get it." Charlotte raised her hands up in defense

We heard beeping in the tubes and saw my dad come down.

"Ray?"

"Why did you come down the tube?" Charlotte asks

"You were supposed to walk out of the elevator with Brad." I said

"I.. I need to sit down." he sat down on the couch

"Dad..? You okay?" I looked at him with concern as I put my hand on his shoulder

"What's wrong?" Henry asks "Is Brad in here with us now?" he frantically looked around

"I wish he was.." my dad said in a sad tone

"Well, what happened..?" Charlotte asks

"Everything was going according to plan. I- I told Invisible Brad that Henry and Audrianna quit, and that he could be my new sidekick."

"And did he buy it?" I ask

"Ohhh, he bought it."

"What does that mean?" Charlotte asks

"Well, we were finishing our root beers, we took a selfie, I paid the check, and then we were walking across the street together on our way here.."

"And?" Henry asked

"Brad got hit by a bus.."

My eyes widened and my mouth was agape.

"I guess the driver just didn't see him."

...

Well, he's dead for all I care.

Me and William got into a fight.

I never thought William would be the type to fight me, honestly.. everything seemed so perfect.

I guess I should've expected less.

William has been treating me like crap lately and my dad noticed that I've been more upset lately. I really don't wanna talk about it.

Somehow, me and William were talking and he had to go use the bathroom.

I remember what Henry said about William being a playboy. I wondered if it was true.

I grabbed his phone and entered his password.

Now, now, before anyone thinks that's it's very toxic behaviour. It is.

I went through his contacts and found a girl named Lilianne.

My heart shattered as I quickly threw his phone back on the couch and left the house.

I went back home to the Man Cave. I didn't really want to talk to Henry about this since it'll mean that he was right about William.

"Hey, muffin." my dad's smile faded as he saw the look on my face "What's wrong?"

I sighed in defeat "You guys were right.."

"What?"

"William's an ass.." I started tearing up

"Oh.. come here, muffin.."

I quickly sat down next to my dad as he wrapped me into a tight embrace.

"I'm so sorry, darling.."

"I should've listened." I sniffled

"Let this be a lesson to you. To always listen to Henry and I when it comes to boys."

"I'm sorry.."

"It's okay.. you were in love, I can't blame you."

"I love you, dad."

"Love you too, muffin." he kissed the top of my head
