MEANT TO DIE, WE MOVED FAST AND THEN WE CRUSHED.

↳ WARNINGS:
breakup, hangover

▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁▁

The morning frost breaking through
the open window gently caressed her skin, leaving goosebumps on it. She flinched at the chill, wrapping herself even more in warm covers. Sudden pain hit her, head feeling like it was about to explode in a second. A soft groan escaped her dry mouth, stomach squeezing under pressure.

"Congratulations, you're finally awake" Lev said sarcastically.

Kaiko laughed quietly, slowly opening her eyes. His tall, shapely person sat in front of hers computer, currently playing Valorant. Silver strands fluffed in all directions, which caused her to smile.

"Do you have a hangover?" he asked, turning around to face her.

She nodded slightly, not being able to utter a single word. Lev's facial expressions were definitely not it. He seemed stiff, seriousness never leaving his handsome features. Teal-eyed man was deep in his thoughts, wondering if he should tell her about everything that has happened yesterday.

"Do you remember anything?" he asked again, his eyes going back to the monitor.

Kaiko grimaced for a moment, thoughts gathering in one place. Everything was cut short at times, every memory she had of last night. It felt as if she was leafing through an album of missing photos that should've been there and actually weren't.

"Yeah. I remember smoking, drinking and dancing with two men. After that i just have some little flashbacks, y'know?" she laughed awkwardly as she snuggled into the covers.

"Oh" Lev replied disappointedly.

There was no point of further conversation for him. The silver-haired knew damn well that if he continued, it would meant talking about the details, which he definitely didn't want to.
She wouldn't be happy at the knowledge of her drunk ass riding in the same car as her secret admirer.

"By the way, Matsukawa texted you" he added after a short moment, his eyes focused on the game.

Kaiko frowned in shock, slowly reaching for the phone. With narrowed eyes, she unlocked it and then entered the conversation with her partner.

[ MATSUN <3 ]
can i step by today?

A soft snort left her lips, after which curled into a thin line. She looked at Lev, who gave her a questioning look. He was curious and wanted to know what Matsukawa texted.

"What did he text?" he asked, ruffling his silvery hair with hand.

"He wants to step by..." she replied, her voice getting quieter as she spoke.

"That's great, I guess?" he chuckled awkwardly, looking for a second at his best friend.

The woman took a deep breath, hands covered her flushed face as she was thinking about answering. Finally she grabbed back her smartphone and started typing.

[ KAIKO ]
yeah, be here at 5

Kaiko felt a sudden rush of stress, her stomach clenched as thoughts flooded her mind. She wondered if their interminable relationship will end that day. If so - the fear that she would lose contact with him made it impossible for her to function normally.

"Fuck!" she screamed, rubbing her face nervously with hands.

"Shut up bitch, my head hurts" Lev groaned, shivers running down his body.

The woman rolled her eyes at his comment, then stuck one leg out behind the covers. She slowly climbed out of bed and put on her slippers. Kaiko stretched out, then walked over to Lev and ruffled his hair as a 'good morning' thing. On the way out of the room she reached for a sweatshirt and sweatpants, soon after heading to the bathroom. After getting rid of her pajamas, dark-haired filled the bathtub with hot water. A wave of heat hit her at once, the boiling water burning her delicate skin, which made a loud hiss escape from her insides, her body eventually adjusting to the temperature.

She closed her eyes for a moment, thinking about last night. Kaiko tried to remember the smallest details, the moment of arrival, when Lev left and time where she began to party by herself. Dancing with two strangers, just after a she took turns making out with them. From the moment she sat in the living room - everything seemed blurry. Kaiko couldn't imagine anything, as if she had passed out back then.
Green-eyed cursed softly under her breath, hands traveling along warmed body. She grabbed her belly, gently massaging it, soon after touch was transferred to her thighs, which she began to slowly knead. Head slightly tilted, loud sigh echoing though the bathroom. After many minutes spent in the tub, Kaiko decided to finally leave it, dry her body and quickly get dressed. She went to the kitchen, where she took a headache pill and made herself and Lev some tea, deciding to skip lunch. Back in her room, Kaiko moved the stool to the desk so she could sit next to the teal-eyed man.

"He's gonna be there in hour and a half..." she muttered softly, taking a sip of tea.

"Do I have to go?" he asked calmly, not taking his eyes off the monitor.

"I mean if you want to" she shrugged, looking at his focused face.

Lev laughed quietly, hand clutching his chin, which he began to rub under the thought of reflection.

"I'll just head home in an hour, is it fine?" he asked, his gaze finally turning to her.

"Yeah" she sent him a small smile, while closing her eyes.

During the free hour they spent together, he tried to cheer her up. She was kinda depressed with unnecessary thoughts, stressed by the meeting with Matsukawa that was about to take place. Comfortably sitting on the couch in her living room, nervously nibbling on cuticles, which she unfortunately couldn't control.
Her body flinched as she heard the doorbell ring.

For a short amount of time Kaiko was unable to get up from the couch, her body seemed to dug into it and everything around her started to seem hazy. The sound of ringing got irritating to the point she finally got up and went to the door, which she slowly opened.
It was raining, generally very gloomy outside despite the fact that the sun was shining in the morning. His tall stature stood before Kaiko - lazy, indifferent and sad eyes staring at hers. Curly hair that flew slowly over his forehead as he scratched his neck nervously, soft chuckle leaving his lips.

"Will you let me in or do I have to keep getting wet?" a reassuring smile was given as Kaiko stepped back to make a way for him, at the same time apologizing for the delay.

Immediately after letting the boy inside, Kaiko ran to get a towel as well as his sweatshirt and sweatpants, which she kept in her wardrobe for a really long time. The look he had in his eyes made her understand. She preferred to give him his clothes in one way and no other, just so she won't struggle with the memories later.

"Here" Kaiko said, giving him the cloth. "Want some tea?" she asked, giving him a smile.

"Yeah, sure" he replied and then got up, going directly to the bathroom were he had changed.

At the same time, the blonde girl prepared the green tea, and then turned on the TV to play quietly during their meeting. She sat down comfortably on the couch, wrapping the blanket around herself and waiting with tea for her boyfriend, who appeared after a while.
Issei sat down next to her, unable to look at woman's features. He took the cup in his hand, taking a sip while preparing himself for the painful expression.

"I cheated on you, Kaiko" he said straight off the bridge, not wanting to go into details. "And I'm so sorry for being an asshole"

Her body froze at that moment. Even though she felt somewhat relieved, because she could finally be free, independent. However, the awareness that she could lose a person who was so important to her once again in her life - scared the hell out of her.

"Was she at least pretty?" she asked seconds later, looking in his direction.

Hearing her question, Matsukawa choked on the tea he was just slurping. He completely didn't expect such a response from his other half, which caused his eyes to widen. Brown-haired finally shifted his gaze to the woman who was looking at him with a serious expression.

"Actually... it was a man" he replied, setting his cup on the table. "Hanamaki to be exact"

Kaiko sucked on her breath without being able to utter a single word. She really hadn't expected such an answer and already has forgotten about all the arguments that they've been through.

"What?" she gasped, her lips curling into a thin line. "Issei..."

"I'm sorry" he whispered, tracing the cup with his fingertip. "I just really like him and to be honest our relationship is... just not it"

Kaiko nodded at his statement, shock not leaving her flushed face. She had so many questions and to be honest wasn't angry at all, she understood the whole situation perfectly.

"I cheated on you too, I assume?" she replied, wanting to be honest with him.

"You assume?" Issei asked, his brow rising up.

Kaiko let out a soft laugh, her eyes closing at the memories of her favorite Kenma. They haven't talked for some days, causing her to actually miss his voice.

"I met this man online and we... just y'know" she laughed awkwardly, then took a sip of tea.

"Had like... cyber sex?" he asked, unable to contain his curiosity.

"Mhm" she nodded again, smiling under her breath.

She thought they both understood each other in this situation. They clearly didn't love each other and sooner or later they would have ended it. Issei's courage ended this unfortunate relationship.

"...was it fun?" he asked, trying not to laugh, which made Kaiko glare at him.

"Don't laugh! Dude, you're the one who turned out to be gay. Why didnt you tell me ealier?" she said irritated, folding arms over her chest.

"I don't want to lose you. I love you Kaiko, but like a friend not a person that has to be by my side for the rest of my life" he replied a bit embarrassed, which amused but also gave the green-eyed even more relief.

The girl sighed, joy filling her whole body.
From that moment her smile couldn't get off her face, the thought of slowly entering a new, more interesting life. It all started to make sense all over again, for the first time in a long time she felt anything other than emptiness.

"So... are we like friends?" she asked just to be sure, scratching her neck nervously.

"Duh? I'm not gonna leave our relationship" he burst out laughing, at the same time relaxing the atmosphere between them.

Kaiko finally could be free and Issei could enter the new life he needed so much. Both of them could focus on themselves, on the people they were actually attracted to. That was what they truly needed. They just weren't meant to be.
