¹⁴ from detention to a museum heist

Both girls were walking out of the school's front door, well which this case sneaking out, " What got you here in detention anyways?" the Asian girl asked, curious why her friend was in there, to begin with.

" Plarry escaped ... again. He was stealing the coins in the vending machine in the teacher's room" Arabella weakly chuckled, recalling chasing the little Niffler in the staff room, " And I couldn't come up with a good lie to the teachers of how I was in there with coins scattered everywhere "

Miko couldn't help but laugh soon they were both laughing. Earlier, both girls watched Bulkhead drive to the front of the school, they heard rock music blasted on. Miko managed to convince the witch to ditch detention.

As much as Arabella wanted to avoid trouble, she couldn't stand one of the girls in there who babbled on to Arabella that she could read the future and levitate stuff with her cheap, plastic wand.

She would gladly ditch detention than to hear a random girl who was trying to do a spell which in this case was speaking gibberish.

Miko opened the passenger seat as the witch took the seat at the back. " I love this song! Yeah! " Arabella couldn't help but chuckle at them, they really got along with each other.

" Miko, I thought you had a history report to do? " Bulkhead asked, slightly suspicious. "Did detention end early?"

" Did for us. " Miko lied as Arabella looked more interested in the window, avoiding Bulkhead's question. " Ah Miko, teacher " Arabella chimed in seeing their unhappy teacher.

" Here comes our teacher, and she doesn't look happy." Miko ducked as the teacher spotted them, "Step on it, Bulkhead!" The Autobot groaned but started the car to quickly drive away.

Soon they were on the desert road back to base, " Miko, I'm supposed to be your guardian, not your getaway car. You can't just cut detention." Arabella could clearly see how Bulkhead was worried for Miko, " What if your parents found out? "

" They live in Tokyo, remember? And don't even worry about my host parents." Miko looks at the wheel, " I think I scare them. "

" Miko, listen If you fail high school, you can't go to, uh Uni-- " Bulkhead was struggling to say something which they drive through the Autobot base, "Uh, it's "keys" -- Uh, "codge" -- Wait, wait."

" W-what's that word again? Uh..."

" I think the word you are looking for is college" Arabella pointed out as they got out of the car. "Ugh. You sound like my parents," Miko complained as they entered the base.

"Well, aren't they Japanese?" Bulkhead asked confused, looking down at his charge. "They may speak a different language, but you say the same thing," Miko said.

"Because we want the best for you. And that means making sure you go to school, not jail," Bulkhead tried to convince his charge.

"Uh-oh. What'd you do?" Jack asked as he stood on the catwalk, watching the trio.

Bulkhead ignored the raven-haired teen, "Look, Miko, before I became a warrior, I was a laborer...construction. I can build stuff. I can break stuff. And that's it,"

"I love breaking stuff," Miko cheered "I want to be just like you, Bulk," The green Autobot sighed, seeing how he wasn't getting the message to her, " Why would you want to be like me when you can be a-a medic like Ratchet? "

Arabella couldn't help but chuckle this time turning her attention as Ratchet's computer beeped. "I'm detecting a fresh energon pulse from the nation called Greece," The medic informed them. "An ancient city- quite historic, I believe."

"Ancient Greece, huh?" Bulkhead mused. "Field trip time, Miko... wanna join us Arabella?" the Autobot wrecker asked as the brunette witch agreed.

Soon they arrived through the ground bridge, "Here we are," Bulk said, unlocking the doors so both girls could jump out.

They looked around, noticing how we were in one of those empty, old-style arenas. "Sweet!" Miko ran ahead to see even more ruins as Bulkhead transformed. "So, what are we doing in Greco-ville?"

"I'm scouting for energon." He said, taking out a beeping device. "You're doing research for your history report."

Her jaw dropped. "You punked me, Bulk? Not cool." Miko send a small glare at the witch who was giggling at her.

He walked past me, his attention on his beeping device. "Hm, signal's strong." They looked out at the ruins below us. "An excavation site?"

"Whoa," Arabella commented, staring at the large machines that surrounded a crater.

"According to my scanner," Bulk looked at his device again. "Humans hit energon veins and they don't even know it."

Arabella gaze traveled across the ruins, tracing the stone texture through her fingers. "Whoa," Bulk said and they saw he was staring at a painting on one of the ruins. "That's Cybertronian! Why would ancient Greeks paint an energon harvester?"

"You know what that round thing is?" Miko asked, referring to the round orb in what seemed to be a god's hand on the painting, Miko snapped the a picture. "You're smarter than you let on."

"But dumber than he looks." A voice said from behind them and Arabella turned to see another Cybertronian, one she hadn't ever seen before. "Breakdown," Bulkhead spat, clearly hating this new guy.

"Miss me?" Breakdown asked after laughing a bit. "Like rust in my undercarriage." Bulk shot back. The girls looked between them, sensing the hostility. "You know this lunkhead?"

"We have a history," Bulk replied.

"And you have pets," Breakdown sneered, staring at them to which Arabella gave him a glare, her wand ready if something happened. "Does it play catch?" He grabbed a nearby stone pillar. "Catch."

He hurled the pillar towards the human girls as Arabella pulled Miko to get out of the way. Bulkhead jumped in front of them to take the impact.

"Miko, Arabella, stay down!" He commanded and they ducked behind a boulder. Breakdown launched himself forward and slammed into Bulkhead, both of them falling down toward the painting from before. Breakdown got the upper hand and threw Bulk into the painting, shattering the entire thing.

"Hope the pretty picture wasn't too important," Breakdown taunted before he transformed into a safari car and sped off. Arabella and Miko raced down to meet Bulkhead, who looked at the rubble around him.

"Told you I'm good at breaking things," he said, slightly disappointed. They watched Arabella pull her wand from her sleeve, she twirled it. Bulkhead and Miko watched the shattered remains of the stone and fresco come back together, she turned to the wrecker, " I always have your back, Bulk." she gently smiled and the green Autobot couldn't help but smile back.

Miko took her phone out. "I hate to break up the moment but I got us a picture of the picture."

They arrived back at the base which everyone was looking at the photo Miko uploaded from her phone to the main computers.

"It is indeed an energon harvester," Optimus Prime confirmed, "A powerful tool created by the ancients to remove raw energon from any source."

Raf looked confused. "Greek gods knew Autobots?"

"No," the Prime replied. "The ancients often used the art of a given era to conceal messages. This fresco was likely a signpost indicating the harvester's location, hidden somewhere on this planet."

"Optimus?" Arabella spoke up and he looked down at her. "If the harvester removes energon from anything, and you all have energon pumping inside you..."

"In Decepticon hands, the harvester would be a devastating weapon." he finished.

"See!" Miko called to Bulkhead, who stood just behind Optimus. "You were a genius to total that painting."

"Miko's not wrong," Arcee agreed. "How can the Cons find the harvester without the fresco?"

"With high-speed internet," Raf supplied and they all turned to see him typing away at his laptop before he showed them the screen. "If you do an image search for 'Greek god' and 'golden orb', this pops up. It's in a museum."

Arcee looked up at the Prime. "That the real deal?" Optimus' face was grim. "Contact Agent Fowler."

Ratchet walked over to the base's main computers and did so. After several rings, the answering machine picked up.

"You've reached Special Agent William Fowler," The answering machine said. "I'm currently on an intensive training retreat and unavailable until Tuesday."

"I hate talking to machines," Ratchet grumbled.

Arabella pulled out her phone and dialed Fowler's private number, but got the machine too. " Yeah, he's not around, or else he'd at least pick up his private phone."

Arabella muttered something and a glowing silver orb shot out of her wand, " Go tell Uncle Fowler the message " she instructed which the orb flew up and disappeared into a wisp of silvery vapor. " I sent a Patronus message to him but I'm not sure if he would reach it in time "

"Without Agent Fowler's aid," Optimus decided. "We will have to confiscate the harvester on our own."

"Whoa, whoa, whoa," Jack said. "Confiscate? As in steal museum property?"

"That sounds ... Illegal." Raf agreed.

Optimus turned to them. "I do not wish to break human law, but once the Decepticons learn of the harvester's location, they will not hesitate to obtain it by any means necessary. We must act covertly."

" Um Optimus," Arabella said. "Hate to point this out but convert and giant Autobots don't really go together. You're  going to get spotted right away."

"Yeah," Jack agreed. "Museums are public. And they have guards and security cameras."

Miko jumped in front of them. "No problem! We're small enough to sneak in and we're not a government secret."

" Miko, I'm not sure that's wise." Bulkhead said, worried about the kids being put in danger.

"But it may be our best option, Bulkhead." Optimus said, though Arabella could tell he wasn't happy with this decision. "The longer we debate, the more time we give the Decepticons."

The Autobots drove out to take their positions around the museum, securing it for their arrival. Jack, Miko, Raf, and Arabella were on the acess machine, waiting for Optimus' signal.

"Autobots, confirm position," Optimus' voice came through the comm link, which was coming through the main computers.

"Westward," Arcee said. Bumblebee said that he was in position.

"Southside covered," Bulkhead said.

"Maintain your guard," Optimus said. " Arabella, Jack, Miko, Rafael, I will have a clear view of you. Once you secure the harvester, I will contact Ratchet to bridge you back to base."

Ratchet fired up the ground bridge. "Now, since you'll bypass all points of normal entry, you won't need to worry about setting off the alarms, but take care to avoid any security guards."

The four of them nodded before Jack drove them through the ground bridge. On the other side, they emerged into a hall in the museum that lead towards a grand opening with various artifacts.

"Opa." Miko whispered once her eyes lay on the harvester. Jack reached for the steering handle to move towards it when Arabella put a hand on his arm and inclined her head towards the large windows of the front side.

His eyes widened as he remembered that we were supposed to wait for Optimus' other signal before moving in. Outside, Optimus flashed his headlights three times, indicating the coast was clear.

" Let's move," she whispered and Jack began to steer forward when my hand shot out to stop him. "Up. There's a camera."

He nodded and made the scissor lift go up until we were just behind the security camera that overlooked the entrance area. Arabella nodded at Miko, who took out her phone and snapped a photo of what the security camera was looking at before placing it carefully over the camera lens.

Once Miko gave them a thumbs up, Jack steered the lift forward and towards the harvester. When they got right under it, Miko and Raf climbed up the statue that was holding it to push it while Jack and Arabella grabbed it from the bottom.

They had just loosened it enough to get it to move when a flash of movement outside caught Arabella's eye. She turned to see a missile heading straight towards the museum, causing Optimus to transform and hold on to it, pulling it back so that it wouldn't hit us, metal screeching in protest.

The tip of the missile hit the glass, causing it to crack, but it was otherwise fine. The witch let out a breath. The Prime looked inside to check on them, and she nodded once to let him know they were fine. Arabella noticed the others had stopped what they were doing as well to see what the commotion was about.

Optimus seemed satisfied because he turned back just in time for him to be hit by what looked to be an electric staff by a Con she had never seen before.

"Optimus!" she gasped, surging forward as the Prime fell to the ground, but Jack grabbed my shoulder. "It's Cons!" Raf's voice shook with fear.

"They got Optimus," Arabella said, she turned to the others, " Focus on the orb, I'm going to help him" She appriated just in time as she pulled her wand out and arched it over her head.

Just before the red-colored con was about to electrocute Optimus again, a blue bolt hit him in the side. The Decepticon slammed into the building, and his electric rod fell to the ground next to him.

Optimus looked over and saw Arabella standing there with her wand in her hand, "Are you okay?" Arabella asked while giving him a concerned look.

The con bot quickly gained his composure and grabbed his rod and pointed at her, but she waved her wand again.

"Evanesco," She quickly said the spell. A quick light flashed from the tip of her wand.

The electrical rod Knockout was holding vanished. Literally. "W~what did you do!?" Where did his rod go!? He couldn't dwell on it because Bumblebee punched him. This sent him a few feet in the opposite direction.

A pair of bright headlights blinded them for a moment. She put her hand over her face to block the light, only to see a blue truck racing towards the museum and them.

Then Bumblebee transformed into his vehicle mode and sped out to intercept the safari truck Con. Arabella spotted Arcee and Bulkhead arrive on the scene too.

Arabella teleported back to the others, "Come on!" she said, grabbing onto one side of the harvester. The others followed her lead, going back to their jobs, just as an impact shook the building, causing the alarms to go off.

Raf gave the harvester a final push, shoving it into the scissor lift, and hopped in. Jack lowered the lift as fast as it could go.

"Time to make our exit," Miko hissed as she jumped out of the lift and ran in front of them. Jack followed as fast as the lift could go, but Miko still raced ahead of us. She turned around a corner and Arabella heard her footsteps skid to a stop.

"Uhhh, wassup?" the witch heard her say and jumped out of the lift too, racing to the corner the moment her feet hit the ground. Pressing her back against the wall, Arabella peered around the corner to see a security guard looming over Miko.

"Better come with me, miss," The guard said as he grabbed her arm and practically dragged her to a side room.

"That's not good," Raf whispered, fear still tainting his tone. Arabella put a hand on his shoulder. "Don't worry," she assured the younger boy. "We'll get her out, even if we have to break her out."

The sound of metallic footsteps caught all of their attention and my eye snapped to the half-open bay door at the end of the hall. Miko must have started to open it when she got caught.

"Arcee!" Jack called and headed towards the bay doors. Raf followed before Arabella could say anything, and whichever Cybertronian it was crouched down, opening the bay doors the rest of the way to reveal the familiar dark navy blue bot.

"Soundwave!" Raf exclaimed and raced back to where Arabella was. The Con reached in and grabbed the harvester right off of the lift. She lifted her wand, but couldn't shoot a spell in time to stop Soundwave from pulling back and transforming into his vehicle mode, taking the harvester with him.

The boys seemed frozen where they were, but the witch ran past them. "Guys, we have to warn the Autobots!"

They snapped out of their daze and ran after the brunette witch, following her until they reached the front of the museum, where the Autobots were watching the Cons retreat.

"They have the harvester!" Jack exclaimed. "And security has Miko!" Raf added.

"What?!" Bulkhead stuttered before a fierce, protective look cross his face. "I'm going in after her."

Optimus put out his arm to stop the wrecker. "Bulkhead, Miko may be detained but she is safe from harm. We must return to base to regroup and form a new strategy."

"In all likelihood, Starscream will use the harvester to gather as much energon as quickly as he can from the planet's otherwise unmineable energon deposits." Optimus explained when they were back at the base.

" Approach with extreme caution," The lead Autobot continued as Bumblebee and Arcee were ground bridged to two different unmineable energon deposits. "Starscream will not hesitate to turn the harvester on any one of us."

Just as Bulkhead stepped up to be ground bridged, Optimus turned to him. "Bulkhead, it is best that you remain here."

"So I can bust Miko out of the museum?" The wrecker asked hopefully. "So you can help Ratchet," The Prime corrected. "You may be Miko's guardian, but she requires human assistance. Agent Fowler still remains her best option."

Bulkhead gave Optimus a shocked look, but the Prime just walked past him, transformed, and disappeared through the ground bridge. Bulkhead looked at the witch expectantly. "Not sure if he received the patronus yet," she said, seeing how stressed and worried he was.

"Fowler's probably lounging around some poolside cabana," Bulkhead growled before smashing one of Ratchet's tools, causing Jack to jump.

"Bulkhead! I needed that!" The medic exclaimed.

"We can free Miko if we just return the harvester to the museum," Bulkhead continued, ignoring Ratchet's complaints.

"So the Decepticons can steal it all over again?" Ratchet asked accusingly. The wrecker paused for a moment, probably trying to think of another idea, before clutching his head. "I am so dumb!"

Arabella frowned when he said that, she didn't think that Bulkhead was dumb. He was just worried for Miko.

"So, how are we going to help Miko?" Jack jumped in before Bulkhead broke anything else.

Ratchet held up whatever he was working on. "By returning this replica to the museum. The construction of which would be going a whole lot faster if Bulkhead hadn't just mauled my frame welder!"

"We're already trespassers and thieves," Jack sighed.

Arabella threw him a grin as she waved her wand which pieces of gold metal and other bits were combined in the fake replica. " Why not add forgery to the list? " she decided to help out Ratchet in making the fake orb.

Bulkhead was still distressed though. "I wish I'd never taken Miko to the-" He paused, and an idea popped into his processor. "The painting of the harvester wasn't the only thing we found at those ruins!"

"I'm sorry?" Ratchet asked.

"Starscream's not dumb," The wrecker said. "No matter what kind of tool he has, he's gonna take the easy route. Ratchet, I need you to bridge me to those ruins from before, now!"

Soon Bulkhead and Arabella arrived at the ruins, they saw Starscream activate the harvester. Bulkhead and Arabella slid down the hill and tried sneaking toward them but stepped on a stone plate.

The Decepticons turned to see the single Autobot and the human girl there. " Scrap" Bulkhead muttered, so much for stealth.

" Back for seconds?" Knockout and Breakdown were coming on both sides of the green wrecker but Bulkhead managed to dodge, sending the red Decepticon flying from the impact as Arabella shoot lighting from her wand, shocking Breakdown until he was unconsious.

Starscream pointed the Harvester at Bulkhead, Arabella's eyes widen in a panic before flaring her wand, and a white mist transformed into an orb-like shield.

Bulkhead optics widen in shock, seeing the several runes burn into the ground around them. The bolts from the harvester bounced off a white shield.

"What is this!?" Starscreen was unaware of the Autobots possessing portable force field technology let alone that a human could have that much power.

Bulkhead stood up and charged at Starscream which he pulled his arm back and punched the Decepticon seeker.  Bulkhead destroyed the orb in his servos before throwing it into the war where a massive blue explosion spread across the sky.

" My, my what an interesting pet you have there " Bulkhead and Arabella turned to see Knockout and Breakdown as the green wrecker stood in front of the witch, protecting her.

Arabella heard the familiar sound of the ground bridge which Optimus, Arcee, and Bumblebee drove out, transforming into mid-air, and shooting the two Decepticons.

" Fight?" Breakdown asked his partner

" Hmm... drive " Arabella watched the two Decepticon transform and drove out of there. Starscream growled annoyed, he stared at the human witch before flying away.

Optimus, Bumblebee, and Arcee stopped in front of the duo, relieved that Bulkhead and Arabella were okay, " Hey " Bulkhead greeted his team as Arabella peeked out to smile at the Autobots.

Back at the museum, Miko was rambling on to the guard who looked less than impressed, "And then, of course, there's the whole principle of the Deus ex Machina," She explained to the yawning security guard.

"The god from the machine. It's that part in Greek storytelling where some character shows up out of the blue to make everything right."

The guard controlled his yawn this time and gave her a sour look, probably because she had been talking all night about the Greeks. "That so, young lady? Well, I'm sure the police will want to hear all about your history report."

Miko swallowed hard, hoping that the Autobots had found some way, any way, to get her out of this. Just then, someone pounded on the door and swung it open.

"Special Agent William Fowler," he showed the security guard his badge. "The stolen property has been located and restored to the premises." The guard glanced at his monitor, seeing the golden orb right where it was supposed to be. "The girl comes with me."

She stood and moved to stand next to Fowler, who handed her a familiar object. "You dropped your cell phone," he said, ushering the girl out. "Found it right next to your history report."

Fowler slammed the door and the two of them walked to the front of the building, where she saw Bulkhead in vehicle mode pulling up. The girl grinned and looked up at Fowler, who nodded.

"Off you go," he said and Miko raced down the museum steps, jumping right into the passenger seat.

"Good timing, Bulk, Arabella!" Miko exclaimed, buckling her seat belt. "I was running out of history factoids, stuff I didn't even know I knew!"

"Looks like you're smarter than you let on," Bulkhead said, relief and amusement in his tone. "Under pressure," She scoffed.

"Me too," The wrecker agreed, Arabella only sighed, tired from last night. She was back of the seat, Miko's body shaking with excitement as Bulkhead began to drive away from the museum.

"I can't wait to finish my history report. I'm going to write all about how the Autobots interacted with ancient civilizations."

"Uh, I'm not so sure that'll get you into college, Miko." Arabella couldn't help but chuckle at the duo.
