"God, this place is sketchy." Alaska said as she got out of the drivers seat, shutting the door and circling the car, "Smells of toilet water too."
Drew's apartment building was just outside of the Valley, a beat down complex that had only a few units. It looked dirty and abandoned, like something a kidnapper would bring the ones he took to. Alaska locked the car when Hawk got out, shutting it as well, "Cedric better be a thankful little bastard."
"Stay close." Alaska said knowingly as the pair walked closer, arms brushing as they did so. The lights flickered above them as Alaska and Hawk walked up the rustic steps that felt as though they'd break on them any second. Alaska gasped when she heard yelling and things throwing from one room, hurrying past as Hawk kept up with her. The whole strip of apartments had a mix of cigarettes, alcohol, and marijuana.
"Do you know what room he's in?" Hawk questioned, clearly not liking the feeling he had here either but didn't want to say it out loud, "Do you even have a plan?"
"Would you stop talking like i'm a idiot? He's my dog, I have to save him." Alaska said in disbelief with his attitude, rolling her eyes as she tried to avoid smelling the faint vinegar smell that leaked from the doors horribly. She knew the smell too well, so well that even after so long without a sniff, she could still sort it out.
"I care about Cedric too, I just don't think you're thinking straight." Hawk spoke, taking notice as to how on edge she looked, fiddling with her hands horribly, "Just go wait in the car, i'll find him."
Hawk was cut off by Alaska beating her fist on the door labeled 138, hitting it harshly, "Open up!"
"Ready to talk?" Drew's voice rung from the other side of the door. Hawks blood boiled as he clinched his jaw, breathing in deeply.
"I want my fucking dog!" Alaska yelled back, hitting the door again, "Open this door before I open it for you!"
"I need money." Drew said from the other side. Alaska scoffed, stepping back as she pulled Hawk with her. He watched with wide eyes, jumping as her signature battle cry echoed through the shitty apartment complex. Alaska kicked down the door quickly as Drew fell onto the ground.
"Hell yes." Hawk gushed with a proud smirk, walking into the apartment with her. Drew tried to stand, Hawk using his foot to shove him back on the ground.
"Where is he?" Alaska demanded to know, her voice deeper as she got angrier. Alaska squatted down to be before Drew, her jaw jumping as she clinched it.
"You can buy him back, if you want." Drew said as he sat up some to be on her level better, "Unless you'd rather spend it on something else."
Alaska grabbed the collar of his shirt, standing with ease as she yanked Drew off the ground and shoved him up against the wall, "I'm not giving you shit! Give me my dog before I bust your pathetic face in."
Hawk felt a bit helpless just standing there, but he wasn't sure how he could help right now. Alaska seemed to handle it well, being in complete control. He didn't expect it from her so quickly.
"Why'd you stop?" Drew asked as she held him into the wall, "You were worse then what I thought you were, I saw it. You didn't stop, you couldn't have."
"Stop talking like you know the first thing about me." Alaska threatened, her hands tightening around his shirt, "Tell me where my dog is or we'll just have to beat it out of you."
Drew laughed slightly as he grabbed Alaskas wrist, "What? With a little karate?"
Alaska yelled as she head butted him harshly, spinning him around with a hard kick to the gut. Drew stumbled back as blood poured from his nose, falling into Hawks grip who twisted his arm, kicking the man harshly into the side as he fell. Alaska foot collided with the side of his head, knocking Drew onto the ground. His hand grabbed the empty beer bottle on the floor, turning with it and nearly hitting Alaska with it.
Hawks hand grabbed Drew's wrist before he could hit her. Time stood still for a moment in the absolutely trashed apartment before Drew screamed in pain when Hawk twisted his wrist.
Alaska had to grin at him as the pair high fived while Drew tried to crawl away with cries of pain. The pair shared a look, Alaska smirked as he nodded to her. Alaska walked forward, pressing her foot into Drew's lower back as she dropped down onto him. Her hand reached around to yank his head back toward her, her nails digging into his skin, "Where's my damn dog?"
"B-Back room." Drew said with shaky breaths, blood pouring from his nose as his swollen wrist was cradled into his hands. Alaska hummed as she pushed the back of his head to hit the dirty carpet quickly. Drew cried to himself as Alaska walked down the short hallway.
Hawk scoffed as he stared down at the man in disbelief, his foot colliding with Drew's face and knocking him out, "Pussy."
"Cedric!" Alaska called out as she opened the back room door, "Cedric! It's mama!"
Hawk hurried down the hall just as the bark was heard. Alaska hurried to open the closet door as the ball of white fuzz ran out. Alaska gushed as she fell into the ground next to him, "Hi, bubs! Hi!"
Cedric licked her face as Alaska laughed and held him close. She picked up the small dog with ease, rubbing behind his ear as she turned to face Hawk who was grinned where he stood, leaning in the doorway, "We better get outta here."
He held his hand out as a habit, letting her take it before the three hurried away from the absolute sketchy neighborhood.
"Where's your parents?" Hawk asked as Alaska came back down stairs after letting Cedric sleep in his bed after a good bath to get the horrible stench off of him.
"Dads on a run in Bakersfield and mom is at a woman's retreat until tomorrow morning." She said, pulling out two sodas from the fridge and handing him one, "It's not pineapple juice."
"Surprisingly." Hawk grinned, popping the can open as Alaska circled the bar to sit down next to him, "You kicked some serious ass back there."
"You say that like you're surprised." Alaska teased, leaning on her elbow slightly as she grinned his way, "Thanks for coming, I don't think I could have handled that alone."
"Always." he said back, eyeing Alaska's every move. He was well aware she was caught up in the moment and forgot how angry she was at him, internally hoping it lasted just a little longer, "Can't believe that guy, thinking you'd give him money."
"Literally. What a idiot." Alaska said as she crossed one of her legs over the other with a sudden look his way, "What were you doing here? Before I opened the door and drug you across the law."
He pulled a face she usually loved, a soft look that showed he held some form of guilt. Alaska rose a eyebrow his way, "I just wanted to come talk to you."
"About what?" Alaska asked back, rubbing her eye.
"I just wanted to say sorry, for what I did in the dojo. What I said, I mean, it was completely out of line." Hawk said as he tucked his head.
Alaska hummed as she sat up better with a faint glare, "You mean when you pretty much slut shamed me infront of the whole team and our sensi's?"
Hawk nodded his head as he peaked his eyes up at her, "I was just mad."
"Mad over nothing, I told you nothing happened that night and yet you still don't trust me." Alaska said in disbelief as her eyebrows frowned and her head shook slightly.
"Then why were you there? With him? You could have came to me, not him." Alaska could see the hurt and anger in his eyes, both swarming in a weird way where she hadn't been sure which emotion was stronger in these moments.
"Because I was upset and I thought being distracted would help and it didn't." She said back honestly, sighing loudly, "I know you don't want to hear it and I don't blame you, but Robbys not a bad person."
"He's the reason you became a drug addict, Alaska." Hawk said in disbelief, defense dripping off his tongue with each word.
"He wasn't." Alaska said back so quickly it was nearly alarming, "Was he apart of the cause that made me start in the first place? Yeah, and he doesn't deny it either. But not once did he force a needle into my arm or shove a few pills down my throat, that was me. I blamed Robby for so long for it and it wasn't his fault. I made the decision to start using, no one else made me do it. It's my mess, and I've taken responsibility for it."
Hawk stared as her, scanning her face as silence took over them. He turned away from her, not being able to look her in the eye for what he was going to say, "That's not the only reason I don't like him."
"I know." Alaska said back, because she understood, "Its not like either of us are gonna deny it anymore."
"Yeah, except you don't want anything to do with me." Hawk spoke back quickly, looking at her quickly, "We both meant everything we said that day yet now you hate me."
"I don't hate you, i'm just upset and disappointed in you." Alaska said back with a shake of her head, "You tried to beat up Demetri, that's why i've been mad."
"He dissed our dojo, he never accepted my change, he never has anything good to say about Cobra Kai unless he's using us for girls on the beach." Hawk listed off as his fist clinched in his lap, staring at her with wide, blue eyes, "I was angry."
"I know you were." Alaska said back quickly, "You don't think it makes me angry? I get so mad when I bring him lunch and see he's got a whole new trio, two completely different best friends now. I get angry when he mocks me for trying to do the right thing, I get angry when he can't accept you. I get angry too, Eli! That's not a excuse to go around trying to beat people up."
Hawk sighed as he looked down at his lap at her lecture, letting silence take over them again. Alaska watched him, stopping herself from standing up and comforting him.
"I should go home." Hawk said finally as he looked up at her, "Are you going to Moons party?"
"Maybe." Alaska said with a shrug, "Probably not."
"I hope you do." Eli said as he stood infront of her now, looking down at Alaska who didn't stand from her seat, "Do you know?"
"Know what?" she questioned.
"Moon and I broke up." Hawk stated, staring at her intensely with a deep breath, "So...if you want me, find me."
Alaska wanted so badly to reach out for him, wanted to stop him from leaving. She wanted to do anything and everything to get him to stop, to tell him she did want him and that he was hers just as she was his. As the front door shut Alaska shut her eyes with a long sigh, "What in gods name is wrong with you?"
