"I'll meet you in there." Alaska said with a smile to Carmen, looking around the the tournament location. The pair gave her a small smile, heading inside to get their seats. Alaska wore her Cobra Kai t-shirt proud, a pair of black roses in her hands. She seems weak, gentle but her eyes were strong and powerful.
"No ones representing me." a voice heard, a familiar voice. Alaska's head spun suddenly, a flash of remembrance going across her mind.
"Let's go, we have it." the boy said to his two friends, clutching Alaskas bag in hand as his friend eyed her belly button piercing.
Alaska stared over at the voice, meeting eyes with a pair of bright ones. He was handsome, with sad eyes. His face had pure panic all over it at the sight of Alaska, frozen as he stared at her. She walked over slightly.
"How much did you get for it?" she demanded to know, speaking loud enough so he could hear her over the chatter. When his silence fell and guilt danced within his eyes she nodded her head, "Go on, tell me, i'm sure it was a lot less then what I got after that night."
"Antarctica!" Sensei said loudly when he heard her voice. Alaska turned her head, meeting eyes with her old sensei as she walked over, pushing through the crowd of people, "What are you doing here?"
"Came to show my support." Alaska said with a small smile, looking around at the group who's faces lit up at the sight of her. Alaska held the black roses out to Johnny, "These are for you, not to kiss your ass or anything, just as a good luck."
He took them from her, "Fall in, you need to hear this."
The group cheered as Hawk pulled Alaska next to him, grinning widely as she did the same, feeling homey once again with her team.
"You've all learned to strike first. To be aggressive, not be losers. Taught you to strike hard, put every ounce of your power behind everything you do." Sensei Lawrence said as he walked around the group, looking each of them in the eye, "But I haven't taught you the third thing of Cobra Kai. No mercy. The older you get, the more you're gonna learn that life isn't fair. Look at Alaska, what happened to her wasn't fair and it wasn't her fault and she's just sixteen."
Aisha and Miguel patted Alaska on the back as she gave a small smile, nodding her head as she listened closely.
"You wake up one morning feeling great, and then life throws a spinning heel kick to your balls, takes a big steaming shit in your mouth. You get a F on a test, you get suspended, have your bellybutton ripped out in the street." Sensei said as he looked to Alsaka then to Miguel, "You fall in love with a girl and some other dude comes and steals her away. Car gets set on fire. Just when you think things are going good, everything falls apart. That's how it goes. Life shows no mercy, so neither do we."
"Yeah!" Alaska said as a few people around the group chuckled.
"We do whatever it takes to keep our heads above water. We do whatever it takes to keep moving forward. We do whatever it takes to win!" he yelled with a grin, fueling his team up quickly, "Remember who you are. You're badass! You don't give a shit! Kick ass! You're Cobra Kai."
"Cobra Kai!" Miguel shouted at the top of his lungs.
"Yeah!" the group all yelled just as loud along side him.
"All right, guys. Let's get you down there and kick the shit out of everybody!" Sensei Lawrence said to them as they all cheered again. Miguel pulled his gi from his bag, "No."
Everyone looked at him in questioning, "You're not wearing those."
While everyone got their new uniforms, Alaska wished them all luck. She nudged Hawk before he pulled the top half on, "You see that guy?"
He squinted his eyes and looked toward the boy Alaska was pointing to, "Yeah, what about him?"
"He was there that night, in the street" Alaska said as she faced him, seeing his sudden confused face, "With my bellybutton."
"He's the one that did that?" he asked, looking back over to memorize his face.
"Not the exact one but he was there." Alaska said as she glared at the sight of him, "Kick his ass for me."
"You know I will." he answered with a wink as Alaska grinned and began to walk off before Johnny called out for her, "Yes, Sensei?"
"Miguel told me about last night." he said, looking down at her, "Said it was really rough but you're getting through it."
"Carmen is going to take care of me and get me through it so I don't have to go to a rehab center." Alaska said as she crossed her arms in comfort with a nod up at him, "Is that okay?"
"Whatever helps." he nodded as she bit the inside of her lip, "When do your new stitches heal completely?"
"Two weeks, they were already half way through before I fucked them up again." she said before her eyes widened, "Fuck, sorry for the language. Shit! I just did it again."
Johnny laughed as he waved her off, clapping his hand on her shoulder, "Listen to me, I know I was hard on you yesterday. But, I did it because what you were doing was hard core stuff, you understand that? You continue down that path and you're dead by eighteen."
Alaska nodded her head, "No, I understand, i'm sorry for what I said."
He clapped her shoulder, "I'll see you back in the dojo in two weeks."
Alaska's face lit up as he walked off, pumping her fist into the air silently with a exciting grin, laughing to herself as she hurried off to find Carmen and Rosa.
"Are you nervous? I feel like i'm going to have a heat stroke." Carmen said to Alaska as she waved herself, looking out as multiple Karare teams were announced.
"Completely but i'm trying to stay calm." Alaska said as she inhaled, "I haven't been this nervous since the first time I gave a guy head, worst experience of my life."
Carmen had to laugh as she looked to her mother, "What if he gets hurt? What if he loses? How can you be so calm?"
Rosa laughed at her daughter as she spoke in Spanish, "Because whatever happens to him, he'll learn from it."
Alaska gave a smile to Demetri as he walked in, Moon close behind. Alaska felt a slight pang at the sight. Demetri waved back, Moon looking in the direction as she gave a smile and a wave to Alaska as well. Alaska had to smile at her kindness, giving her a wave back.
"Cute girl." Rosa said in spanish to Alaska, who was glade she took two years of it now, "Who is she?"
"She's Moon." Alaska said as she rubbed her hands on her shorts, "Shes like, Eli's new girlfriend I guess."
Carmen scoffed as Alaska looked as her in disbelief, "What?"
"Nothing, I didn't say anything." she said while putting her hands up in surrender.
"From Reseda, returning to the tournament, we have-" the announcer began as Alaska's heart raced.
"Cobra Kai! Cobra Kai! Cobra Kai!" the team began to announce themselves, running in on sync together with serious faces. Alaska stood to her feet and cheered loudly, cupped her hands around her mouth and giving a string of "whoo hoos".
"Now that's what I call a entrance!" the announcer yelled while the crowd cheered for them loudly, "And a badass name for a dojo! Let's hear it for Cobra Kai!"
"Kick some ass, babies!" Alaska yelled out as she clapped loudly, hoping she was loud enough for them to hear her. Carmen laughed as she rubbed her back, cheering alongside her as the pair shared a wide eye'd expression.
"And finally, fighting unaffiliated from North Hills, we have Mr. Robby Keene." the announcer said as the same boy Alaska saw early, that she recognized from her attack, ran out.
"Robby Keene." she said under her breath, watching him as her hands shook slightly, remember the pain his friend put her through, remember it was his fault she had to turn to a stronger drug in the first place. Alaska made eye contact with Hawk as he gave her a stern nod, making her nod back with a small smile.
"All right, folks. Get ready." The announcer said as each of the teams stood on their grounds, "It's Karate time!"
