Eli wasn't sure why he had won a free car wash. Zane called him, saying he had used Squeaky Lees ten times now and got a free wash. He knew he needed to talk to Alaska anyways, he knew she was expecting him to go back to Eagle Fang while he'd already sworn into Miyagi Do. What was confusing was how Gina walked outside, asked him to come in while he car went through the wash. It made more since when she started to ask him about new bathroom colors, not sure which one would look better.
"I think this one, since you have the red towels and tooth brush holders." Eli nodded to the color swap. "How come you guys are repainting?"
Gina cleared her throat. "Um, well..."
She was glad Eli's car was driven from inside the wash, his own horn echoing through the air. Turning, his face fell at the way his car was covered in a bright purple, too far away to see what it said. "What the hell?"
Hurrying out of the door, Gina followed. When Eli saw Alaska get out of the front door, he was taken back. Finally, close enough, he could see the window shield better. Prom with a questionable mark was written in purple across the front, Alaska leaning on his car with a grin. "It'll wash off, don't worry."
Eli laughed as he looked back at Gina. "Nice plan."
"Her plan, not me." she shook her head, grinning as she watched the two.
"Don't leave me hanging here." Alaska walked forward as he kept looking at the window shield. "You were taking too long to ask."
"Was waiting for you to do it." he hugged her, lifting her feet off the ground slightly. They pulled back, the sun shining right between them as their faces lit up. He placed a quick peak on her lips. "Yes."
Alaska smiled widely, glad her late night plan had worked out and turned into the perfection she'd hoped.
"So, we have to fight each other at the All Valley?" Alaska asked, sitting in her own car after Eli didn't want to wash off the promperposal yet. "I thought you felt like you didn't fit in at Miyagi Do?"
"I just wanna help the team." he nodded, meeting her eye. "Demetri and I were actually hoping you'd, maybe, consider being with us."
Alaska frowned her eyebrows. "You want my to leave Eagle Fang?"
"I don't know, the two of us are gonna be there. It would just be cool for all of fight together for once." he nodded his head with a minor shrug.
"I'm not gonna leave Sensei Lawrence and Miguel." she spoke in minor defense, staring over at him. "No, no, sorry. If you want to be in Miyagi Do, that's okay, I support you, but i'm not."
"So you want us to have to fight each other at the All Valley?" he was the one to get defensive now as they sat in the car together. "Mr.LaRusso loves you."
"You don't get it, and I don't want to have to talk about it yet." Alaska shook her head, rubbing her braced hand. "Something happened, when me and you were broken up, something really bad. Miguel and Johnny were there for me, I don't know what I would have done if they hadn't shown up. I could never join another team after that."
"Something bad? Like what?" Eli asked, now in worry.
"I just said I don't wanna talk about it." Alaska said back, getting a knowing look in return. "It was a long time ago."
Eli scanned her face guilty like. "I just don't know why this is such a big deal."
"It's not." she shook her head, grabbing her hand. "Look, we don't need to argue about this. Either way, even on different teams, i'm still gonna cheer you on at the All Valley and nothing is gonna come between us because of two old guys petty drama."
Eli grinned, squeezing her hand. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to try and push you to join Miyagi Do."
"I'm sorry for getting defensive." she nodded, feeling the joy of their growth, how good they could communicate so well together again, how a few months ago, they'd probably started to yell at each other. "I am gonna miss seeing you at practice every day."
"Well, I'll just come over after." he nodded with a cheeky grin.
"Don't forget that i'm still grounded." she gave a knowing point. "Might have to sneak in."
"Nah, your dad and I are really bonded, he'll let me in." Eli smiled proudly over her way. "Text me when it's over and if we're done by then, i'll swing by to grab you."
"Okay." she smiled, leaning over to plant a kiss onto his lips, opening the door slowly with her sprain hand, the broken one close to her chest to avoid hitting it. She smiled his way as she got out. "I love you."
Eli giggled from the drivers seat. "I love you too."
He waited until she walked into the ware house to drive off, flipping his ringer on to make sure he could hear if she texted.
When Alaska had gotten into the dojo, she could over hear Bert talking with Assface. She didn't think anything of it until Kenny's name came up, mentioning how he stood him up when he first gotten his Cobra Kai shirt. "Bert."
His head turned around, wide eyes. "Oh, hey, A-"
"No, don't you hey me." she gave a point of her finger. "What is this i'm hearing about you bullying Kenny when he first joined Cobra Kai?"
"Wh- but, it's Cobra Kai." Bert blinked in shock. "We didn't bully him, we just-"
"You think you knew Cobra Kai was harmful when you first joined? I know I didn't, and i'm older then you are." she gave a knowing point, Bert looked around in a panic. "Don't look around for for him, Eli's not gonna save you."
"Sorry mom." Bert mumbled, his head going down.
"You don't bully anyone. You stand up for yourself and your people when needed. If Cobra Kai doesn't strike first, you don't either. Do you understand?" she gave one more stern look, watching him nod. "I can't hear you."
"Yes, ma'am." he mumbled.
"Good." Alaska rubbed his head. "Go warm up and I'll see if I can get my hands on one of those video games you like."
Bert smiled at her, walking off.
"When'd you become a mother?" a familiar voice rung as Alaska turned around. "Was it after you forgot to pick me up?"
"Devon?" Alaska looked in confusion at her, glancing at Johnny. "Sensei, why do you have my cousin with you?"
"Cousin?" he looked at her stupidly.
"Yeah, Lee." Alaska gave a weird look. "Did you not know that was my last name? One of her dads is my dads brother."
"Well, she's here to kick ass at the All Valley with you." Johnny waved her off.
Alaska gave a grin toward Devon. "I told you you'd come around."
"You already pulled me into debate and now karate? What's next?" Devon asked, trying to get out of the choke hold Alaska had her in. "The fist breaking club?"
"You aren't funny." Alaska struggled to keep her arms around her, but Devon was wiggling away. "It's a Boxer Fracture."
"Antartica!" Sensei Lawrence spoke up with a stern look. "Stop goofing off, you're gonna hurt yourself and then I won't have an All Valley girls champ."
"What am I?" Devon crossed her arms.
"My hero, apparently." Alaska said back, nodding to the group of all boys.
"Listen up, nerds. Todays gonna be a world of pain. Now everyone fall in!" Johnny called, Alaska taking her seat on her metal box again, crossing her legs. "We have a new member joining us today. This is Devon Lee, Antartica's cousin."
"Hi. My pronouns are she/her." Devon smiled at the boys with a small wave.
"The only pronouns we accept in this dojo are sensei and student." Sensei Lawrence faced her in disbelief.
"Those are nouns." Devon rolled her eyes, Alaska hid a minor laugh.
"Oh, i'm sorry. I think what I meant to say is quiet!" Johnny yelled, making her jump.
"That's an imperative." Devon mumbled moments later, looking toward Alaska.
"Get in line." Johnny demanded her. Wyatt accepted Devon in line with a small smile, rubbing her back. "Todays lesson is about cheating."
"God." Wyatt mumbled, rubbing his forehead
"At Eagle Fang Karate we don't believe in fighting dirty. Cobra Kai doesn't follow the same rules. So we have to be ready for any dirty tricks they throw at us. And they will throw them at us."
Alaska had told Johnny about what Robby said at the party.
"Like when Chong Li threw dirt into Van Damme's eyes in Bloodsport." Devon spoke up with a small grin, shrugging. "Al and I watched that when she first joined Cobra Kai."
"Exactly. Looks like someone did their prep work." Johnny nodded his head, Alaska grinned at how well Devon was fitting in.
"And I saw the sequels too. Not to mention Delta Force, Billy Jack, The Octagon, and Lady Dragon." Devon listed on with a nod of her head. "Cynthia Rothrock is a beast."
"Hell yeah, she is. And your entire family talks too much." Johnny nodded his head.
"I saw Last Dragon." Mitch spoke up.
"Shut the hell up, Penis Breath!" Johnny yelled his way. Wyatt winced slightly, looking toward Alaska in hopes of her getting him out of this. "All right, everyone, get ready, i'm gonna put you through the wringer. Except for you, Diaz. Up here with me and Antarctica."
"What?" Miguel looked oddly.
"The tournaments right around the corner. Can't afford for you to get hurt." Johnny shook his head as Miguel hesitantly joined him. "Besides, this is gonna get a little dangerous. You be co-sensei today. Sound good? Go make sure she's still icing that hand and has her brace on tight enough to heal that shit ASAP."
Miguel sighed as he walked toward Alaska, she gave a tight lipped smile. "Sorry, Migs."
"Can't let us get hurt." Miguel took a breath, gently checking up on her wrist.
Johnny lined the kids up while Miguel and Alaska watched. "If Cobra Kai pops out your shoulder, you gotta be ready to pop back."
"Like in Best of the Best!" Devon yelled, kicking toward Bert as he back up.
"Okay, too far back end your overextending your kick." Johnny corrected her, waving Alaska over. "Watch her."
"Sensei, i'm not suppose to be doing any sort of sport until I at least get this off in five weeks." Alaska held up her wrist.
"Just use your legs, no wrist involved." He nodded, parking her infront of Assface. "Just pretend he's Kreese again, you go-"
Alaska yelled, holding her wrist to her chest as she kicked off her back foot, twisting around, coming off the ground, and kicking Assface across the face. Johnny grinned. "See that? That's what you do."
Devon looked toward Alaska with a grin, getting a nod in return as Miguel encouraged her to back up again. Devon mimicked Alaskas actions, not doing the full spin, but kicking Bert harshly in the arm.
"Not bad." Johnny grinned.
"I pride myself on never making the same mistake twice." Devon spoke with a nod of her head.
"We have a lot to talk about." Wyatt whispered to Alaska when Johnny and Miguel engaged in a side conversation. "Something happened at the party."
Alaska gave an alarming look. "Did you do one of those lines of coke?"
"Worse then drugs." he said back with a worried look. He was cut off by Devon kicking him in the balls, wincing and falling over. Alaska watched her go down the line of boys, doing the same to the rest.
