"Where the hell is Antartica? She's been gone four days, she said she'd be back in time today." Sensei Lawrence ranted on, the group of students all smooshed together inside Miyagi Do as the rain poured outside. "How long does it take to argue with someone?"
"Debate team is really important for the school." Sam spoke up to defend Alaska. "And to her."
"She said she'd be here." Johnny huffed as he looked outside a second. His head turned to a familiar red mohawk. "You talked to her today?"
"We haven't talked since she left." Hawk cleared his throat with a shake of his head. "On Friday."
"Like, at all?" Demetri looked over in confusion.
Hawk shrugged. "We thought it would be a good way for her to, you know, clear her mind and all that. I just told her to go have fun."
"Have fun?" Johnny rose his eyebrows in disbelief. "Why would you tell her that?"
"Why wouldn't I?" he pulled a confused look, not totally prepared to talk with his full chest around everyone yet.
"Sam." Miguel spoke up to get her attention. "If I told you to go and have fun, would do you think that would mean?"
The Larusso girl made sure her dad wasn't looking as she faced them. "Fun like jumping on hotel beds or fun with other guys?"
Miguel looked over at Hawk with a raise of his eyebrows.
"Shit, now i'm worried." he hurried to pull his phone from his pocket.
"I mean, you can't really have a say in if she has fun with other guys." Demetri spoke up, getting his attention. "You guys aren't together and she is untitled to do whatever she wants to."
Eli went to speak before Miguel spoke up, looking down at his phone. "She said the traffics really bad coming back on the bus. There was a wreck because of the rain."
"Where's she coming from? San Diego, right?" Johnny asked, getting a nod. "She's never gonna make it."
"She's gonna be behind, she already missed Friday." Daniel joined the conversation. "We can't give her special treatment. It's the first thing you and I agreed on."
Johnny sighed, because he wanted to argue but he knew he took his word on that.
"I can get her." Hawk spoke up quickly with his eyes wide.
"How are you gonna sit in traffic to get her and still be on time?" Demetri gave a look of disbelief as he watched him grab his keys from the corner. "Hello?"
"Give us thirty minutes, tops." Hawk called, hurrying out of the dojo into the pouring rain.
"Alaska! It is raining, we have no seatbelts, you do not need to be dancing in the isle!" Wyatts voice echoed off the metal roof, looking over the seat with wild eyes in Alaskas direction.
Her back was turned to him, the brown curls stopping under her shoulder blades. With a bounce, her feet spun and she was facing forward. The same beautiful brown eyes, the bright smile, rose gold eyelids, glossy lips of Alaska Lee were facing him now. Her phone rose to her lips like a microphone, the melody that Romona, another girl on debate, played only fueling her. "You got that long hair, slick back, white tee shirt!"
"Oh my god." Wyatt squeezed the bridge of his nose, recently painted purple fingernails burning his eyes slightly at the sharp smell.
"And I got that good girl faith and a tight little skirt!" Alaska yelled on, the rest of the bus hyping her up as the rain poured down on the bus. Alaskas attempt to run her hands down her pants on the 'little skirt' lyric, failed badly as she lost her footing, falling backwards with a huff. "Cause we never go out of style, we never go out of style!"
With four instagram stories later, she'd been a laughing mess on the floor of the bus. Wyatt looked down the isle at his newly found friend. "You'll have to tell me when the acoustic version is available."
"Well, of course." she laughed, thanking the two people who helped her up when the bus driver announced that she needed to get back in her seat. The Lee girl slide in next to Wyatt with a long inhale. "That's what my shampoo and conditioner witness every night."
"How lucky of them." Wyatt nodded his head with a raise of his brows. "Why are you even excited? We literally lost that match."
"Yeah, but I totally put that little rat boy in his place." Alaska shook her head, punching her fist over and over. "He was all 'In your face.' and I was all 'Wanna know what's in your face?' POW!"
"Yeah, and you got us banned from every getting to compete in San Diego again." Wyatt cracked her a half grin as the thunder struck outside. "Then you summoned the rain."
"The rain needed to come anyway. My dad definitely forgot to water my plants this weekend." Alaska nodded her head, leaning back onto the seat. "Too busy kicking names and taking ass."
Before Wyatt could speak again, the sound of multiple car horns were heard. The two leaned toward their window, looking out of the foggy windows. A chatter went through the bus as even more honks were heard, getting closer and closer. Wyatt gave an odd look. "I think it was another wreck."
The sound of a motercycle engine heard.
Alaska kneed Wyatt in the balls as she crawled over, getting a wince and a string of curse words under his breath. Alaska pulled the window open, ignoring the bus driver yelling at her from the front. Rain poured in, hitting her in the face as she leaned out the window. It didn't take long for her top half, but also Wyatt, go get soaked of rain water. Alaska squinted, the head lights facing her taking her off guard.
The motorcycle was traveling in the middle of the lanes, going slow in order not to hit anyone, but still coming. She grinned, knowing the bike well, knowing the helmet that she bought him too well by now. Alaska laughed as the bike stopped infront of the window. With one pull, the red Mohawk, that managed to stay perfect under the helmet in some weird way, came into view and Alaska saw the familiar face.
"Eli!" she yelled down at him. His hand rose, a wave sent her way before waving her off. Alaska pulled back, yanking the window closed as she dripped even more water on Wyatt. Grasping her bag, she smiled at her friend. "Wy, I'll see you tomorrow?"
"Okay, yeah." he gave an odd look. "Where- wait! Where are you going?"
She was running down the isle of the bus, gripping her bag. She yanked the lever as the doors open. The bus driver looked in disbelief. "Hey! You can't do that, get back in!"
She didn't care, she didn't listen, all she cared about was him.
"You're insane!" Alaska laughed as he crawled off the bike, facing her. "It's also illegal."
"I had to get you." he smiled, hesitating as he shook his head. "Did you have fun with other guys?"
A single laugh left her lips. "Wanna rephrase that?"
"Did you have fun with other guys, in a...not friends way?" he rose an eyebrow with an innocent look, trying to find the words to explain what he meant.
A wide smile went across her lips as she shook her head. "Not at all."
Hawk returned the smile she had. "I'm really glad. Sorry."
"I'm not." she threw her arms around her shoulders, earning a stumble as they hugged tightly. He gave her a tight squeeze. "It's really cold."
"Yeah, it is." he laughed, pulling back and securing the extra helmet on her head. "Did you win your game?"
"No." Alaska shook her head as he hooked it on her head nicely so it fit perfectly. "I punched the guy I was going up against in the face."
Hawk laughed as he got his own helmet on. "Proud of you."
He crawled in first, letting her do the same. He leaned back against her in the slightest, Alaskas arms tightening around his waist. "Let's hope we done get arrested."
Alaska scooted in closer. "Wouldn't be the first time we've almost got arrested."
"Very true." Eli nodded his head, kicking off the wet road and driving down the middle of the cars, getting honked at once again, but neither of them cared even in the slightest.
