Eli wrapped his arms around Alaska from behind, everyone stood on the hill later on that night. She leaned back against him with a secure sigh. He planted a kiss to her shoulder. "How do you feel?"
"Better." she hummed, her voice was weak, but still her. He kissed the side of her face. "I know I won that."
"Yeah, you did." he promised her, rocking slightly with his arms locked around her tightly. "And i'm so proud of you. You have no idea."
Alaska leaned her head back against him, listening to the chatter around her. "Terry Silver will get what he deserves."
"Agree." Eli circled her with a minor smile. He held her face. "Regardless of what happened tonight, you need to know that you fought so good, you made all of us so proud. I'm about to go make a lap around the entire hill and tell everyone Alaska Lee is my girl."
She had to laugh, leaning into him some. Eli gave her a peak on the mouth. "You sure you wanna do this tonight?"
She looked to her friends, looking at the floating lanterns in their hands as they talked to each other. Alaska nodded. "I need to."
He nodded his head. Kody walked over, giving Alaska her lantern into her, once again, braced wrist to help the pain. "Here you go, gorgeous lady."
Alaska took it with a small smile. "Thanks, Kody."
He rubbed her head, joining Eli a few feet away, tossing his arm around him.
"Hi." Alaska stood a little bit higher on the hill to talk to everyone below her. They all held the lanterns, staring up at her. Everyone in her group was here except for Johnny and Carmen, who said they were going home to get Miguel then would be there. "Um, I know tonight was kinda a mess, and it's kinda left all of us in a pretty weird head space."
Zane put his arms around Beth and Gina. Wyatt leaned his head on Demetris shoulder as they watched her. Alaska took a small breath. "After what happened, I really got in my head. I started to think all these bad things, and I was hurt and embarrassed. But, then I stopped and thought about everyone around me. My family, my friends, people I even thought were my enemies, new friends, old friends. And I know that non of you think of me the way I was started to see myself."
Sam gave her a tiny smile to encourage her to continue. Alaska took a breath. "Being one year sober has opened my eyes a lot. This whole year, i've been hiding all these urges, going to so many meetings, and just struggling with all of it. That was hard, and it's always gonna be hard, but it also made me realize that there are things I love in this world more, what keeps me away from relapsing, things that protect me from myself."
She really wished Miguel was hear when she said that. "Every single one of you keeps me grounded, karate too, but most importantly my-fucking-self."
There was claps over the small group, giving a few "woo"s at her words. Alaska shook her head quickly. "I'm not just the girl that had an addiction, and i'm sure as hell not the girl that relapsed and lost the All Valley from it either!"
"Yeah!" they called back, doing the beach ball as it made her smile.
"I'm upset what happened, but at the end of the day, who gives a shit that I didn't take home the All Valley trophy? I still have my Skills Competition trophy. Who gives a shit that people aren't gonna consider me the All Valley Girls Champ?" Alaskas listed on with a serious look on her face. "All that matters to me is that I know all of you know who I am, and that I clearly won that shit!"
"Yeah!" Kody and Eli cheered her on.
"Let Cobra Kai celebrate their fake win, let them have their cheated trophy and title. Because someone in my life made me realize that it'll only make them feel stupid and bad for themselves sooner or later." Alaska shook her head, and she gave Jimmy a small smile when she saw it. "So, I hope all of you can stand with me tonight, and release these lanterns into the air as a reminder that regardless of what happened, weather that's sobriety or being cheated out of the All Valley, all that matters is that you have to keep flying high. And it's so much more rewarding if I get to share that with people like all of you."
Turned, she let her lantern go, the group doing so as well, letting them go. The group cheered for Alaska, making her smile. Eli patted Kody on the back, walking forward to pull her into a hug. "Really gonna make me start crying infront of all these people?"
Alaska laughed. "Some tough guy you are."
"Shut up." he pulled back, the lights over their head as he planted a kiss on her lips. "I love you so much."
"I love you too." Alaska smiled, leaning her forehead on his.
Demetri threw as arm around Alaska. "This should be an every day thing."
"I'm totally into this whole Repunzel thing." Wyatt added in, Demetri leaned over to plant a kiss to Alaskas head.
"Everyday?" Eli looked over in disbelief.
"Doesn't seem so bad." Sam was by Wyatt, her arms going around his waist and leaning over to look to Alaska. "I could use an Antartica pep talk every morning."
"Oh god, not you too with that nickname." Demetri winced, Wyatt began to laugh. "Though, I do like the Ice Princess title Johnny gave you."
"Me too, it sounds so hot." Eli nodded.
"I could really go for some guac and wings." Alaska smiled, speaking from her stomach.
"You and this guac and wings thing." Sam shook her head with a laugh.
Alaska leaning her head against Eli's. "Miguel would love this."
"Sucks he missed it." Wyatt had to agree.
"He's proud either way." Eli hummed, kissing Alaskas head from the way she leaned on him.
But still, in her friends arms, and even if Miguel was to be here, she was missing someone. Her head turned to the side, looking over Eli's shoulder to see Kody leaned on his car, looking up at the lanterns getting higher in the sky. "Hey, lover boy!"
Kody looked over, meeting her smile. Alaska waved her hand that was around Eli's waist. "Get over here."
"He's kinda a sweet himbo." Demetri had to admit.
Kody smiled over at his dad, who was with Daniel, Vanessa, Amanda, and Anthony. Eli held his arm out, letting Kody in on the chain of linked teens. Alaska sighed with a small smile, nodding her head gently. "It's worth it if I get to be here with you guys. The struggle, I mean."
Eli looked down at her slightly. "You really think so?"
She turned her head to find his eyes. "It's all worth it."
He smiled, leaning his forehead onto hers softly.
At the bus station, a light caught Miguel's eye. Looking up, he stared at the floating lanterns going across the Valley, traveling into the darkness. He didn't know how he knew, but he could feel Alaska the second he looked up at them. His finger brushed against the bagger ring around his pinkie, giving a small smile before boarding the bus.
