Eli and Alaska ran into the hospital room after getting the number from the nurse. The first thing Alaska saw was a red haired baby, the next was how the baby wasn't in her mothers arms. "Where's Beth?"
"There was some complications." Zane walked over as Gina held the baby. "She'll be okay."
"Complications? What kind of complications?" the Lee girls eyes widened in fear. "What happened?"
"She was loosing a lot of blood, they got her to surgery. This happens all the time." Zane promised, grabbing her neck to kiss her forehead. He then looked at Eli. "I thought you said you hadn't seen her?"
"I found her." he said back. "Obviously, I was gonna call to tell you-"
"Blah." Zane held a hand up. "Wanna hold a baby?"
"I wanna hold first." Alaska hurried toward her Mom. "A girl or is he just in a pink blanket?"
"A girl." Gina smiled, showing her squished up face to her daughter. "See how much she looks like Beth?"
"When you were born, I put you in a blue blanket so everyone thought you were a boy." Zane said from behind her as Alaska sat down on the couch. "Your grandparents were so confused."
"As if they weren't confused enough, not speaking a word of english." Gina teased as she laid the baby in Alaskas arms. "Don't forget the head."
"I've done this before, Mother." she said in return, holding her close with a small rock. "She's so much smaller then everyone else I hold like this."
"Your Dad still thinks you're this small." Gina whispered as Alaska smiled. "Guess what B named her?"
"What? She never told me a list." Alaska looked over.
"Georgia." Gina smiled in return. "Wanted to keep the state names in the family."
Alaska smiled as she looked down at the baby again as she gave a yawn. "Hey, Georgia. People will make fun of your name when you learn about the states, but it'll be okay."
Gina got off the couch. "Come with me, husband. Let's check on Beth."
"Leaving a new born in their care?" Zane rose his eyebrows. "I don't want them getting any ideas."
"Dad!" Alaska scolded him with an embarrassing face.
"You don't have to worry, Zane. I promised to be a virgin until i'm married, ask the church." Eli nodded in his direction as Alaska hid a laugh.
"Out of the room." Gina shoved Zane. "Don't say anything you'll regret."
"I can still remind them of the penis eating disease you get when you have sex for the first time." Zane pointed out as she shoved him. "Just one more-"
The door shut. Alaska nodded her head for Eli to walk over, sitting in close to her. He put a hand on her back, looking down at Georgia. "Woah, she is so much smaller then Bert."
"Right?" Alaska agreed. "It feels like i'm holding nothing."
"She's so quiet." Eli leaned in close to make sure she'd been breathing. "I couldn't have a kid. I'd worry so bad."
"I think you're suppose to worry so bad when you have a kid." she pointed out in return, using the hand behind Georgias head to rub her face slightly. "I mean...look at my parents."
"You think your Dad believed me?" he turned his head to give her a smile. "I mean, I doubt he actually knows what's going on in the car, right?"
"I'd hope not, i'd never be able to look at him the same." she gave a worried look. "I'm sure he believes you. Now that you're not so....mowhawked."
It made him laugh the way she said it. "I do miss it though."
"It'll come back." she laid her head on his shoulder, his rested ontop of hers and using his hand behind her back to hold the arm that was behind the baby's head. "But, I like you no matter what hair you've got."
Eli grinned. "I would like you with no hair too."
Alaska laughed loudly and felt Georgia jolt in her arms. "Woah, thank you."
"Oh, sure." he hummed. "You ever thought about doing something different with it?"
"Yeah, sometimes." she shrugged. "It gets kinda old getting it in these nice curls everyday."
"Your hair isn't naturally curly?" for the longest time, he'd only ever seen her hair straight for the first day of school.
"It is. But, not these curls. Much more curly." she pointed out. "What if I get some bangs? And did my curls now some days, some days straight, and then some days the natural curls? Mix it up a little."
"Whatever you want, but I support the bangs." he agreed, picturing it. "I think you should. Tomorrow before you chicken out."
"Sounds like me." she agreed. "I'll call Kodys mom in the morning."
Eli turned to kiss her forehead. "If you minus our breaks ups, we'd almost be one year together."
"Psh, we were together before we were actually together." she pointed out. "Unofficially."
"That's true. Probably since the day I was crying and Demetri was looking for a princess." he gave a small snort. "Can't believe he found a prince instead."
"At least we don't have to deal with Yasmine anymore." she pointed out. "I hope she leaves for the summer, I don't even wanna see her face."
"I like Wyatt, now that I know he's not into you." Eli pointed out. "Much better then Yasmine. I like Kody too."
"Yeah, I like Kody, too." she grinned. "Did you see the way Jimmy was looking at my Mom?"
"Yeah, I just didn't want to say anything." he agreed. "Did something go on with them before?"
"I don't know. I know they were all really good friends, and I know my Mom had a thing for Sensei for a little bit but that's all she ever says." she had to point out, turning her head with a half smirk. "Wanna do some digging to see?"
"Mhm." he smiled down at her. "I don't think your Mom would ever do anything, though. I mean, she really loves your Dad."
"Oh, for sure. She loves him more then anything." Alaska agreed. "But, I don't know. I guess there's people from your past that it's hard not to let consume your head when you've been crazy about them before. I mean....what if we break up, fall in love with different people, and then run into each other decades later? I'd probably start to let it mess with my head."
"Yeah, but I can't really see us breaking up, you know? After all the sh-stuff we went through, and still got back together every time, it's weird to think of us just not being together." Eli pointed out, voicing his inner thoughts. "Especially if we're going to the same college, living together, in LA for the rest of our lives. It doesn't make a lot of sense."
"That's true." she agreed. "It's weird to imagine life differently then what it is now. Like, I can't see a future without Demetri and Miguel being such a huge part of it. And everyone else, going to school. I feel like it's all gonna change when we graduate next year."
"It won't if we don't let it." he promised her. "Besides, all of us have already talked about schools. So, we're all gonna be going to the same one. Only difference is gonna be we'd have more real world stuff. Like, paying our phone bills."
"I'll pay your phone bill as long as you do laundry. Man, I really hate laundry." Alaska looked over with a shake of her head. "Every time I do it, I pray a sock monster will form and eat me so i'll get put out of my misery."
Eli laughed, nodding his head. "Okay deal. But, you're making me sound like a house-husband."
"I would never let your cook us food." she said immediately with wide eyes. "I mean, I do love you with my whole heart, but I don't think I can handle that guac you tried to make me."
"I thought you liked the guac?" he sat up with a gapping look.
She winced with a forced smile. "I like you..."
"Woah, okay." he laughed in disbelief. "My feelings are hurt."
"Mm, i'm sorry." she strained her neck to kiss his check a few times, waiting for him to turn his head and give her one on the lips. "I knew you'd give in."
The door opened up, Gina and Zane back. "Beth's okay, she's out of surgery and resting."
"Thank God." they said on sync, just as Alaskas phone rung.
It was Johnny.
"I can hold her..." Eli trialed off hesitantly, looking toward Zane and Gina. "I don't know how to hold a baby."
"Which is why you shouldn't have one any time soon. Never, actually." Zane walked over to take Georgia from Alaska and put her into Eli's arms, showing him the proper way to hold and how to position his arms.
"Hey, Sensei." Alaska stood up when she hit the green. "I was going to c-"
Gina looked over when she noticed Alaska completely freeze, like she'd been playing a game of freeze tag and was struck. Only, she was, but not with a game. "What do you mean he's gone?"
"Alaska?" Gina asked. "What's he saying?"
She hung up on Johnny and turned to her parents. "Miguel left."
Not only did he leave The Valley, he also left her.
