DESTRUCTION. DEATH. ANGUISH. BLOODSHED. CALAMITY. That's all that Rika Nishiko could remember the night when her whole world fell apart... How she watched the person she loved the most in the world destroy everything in his path, killing everyone she held close to her and those who hurt her with words and burns so heartlessly.

A bitter cold winter night, the frost air nipping around ten year old Rika's skin as her light pink sleepwear kimono was barely enough to keep her warm in from the freezing night of the harsh winters that she was once sheltered from inside her home. Her feet, covered in cloth that was carefully wrapped around her feet as her black flat shoes could barely handle the snowy grounds.

Soft pants fell from her lips as she continued to tread across the snow, her body shivering battling the contrast as the muscles of her tiny legs burning and struggling to move further in the deep hills of the snow through the forest. Her whole body felt limp, her energy was wearing down as she went further and further from the place she once called home, from someone who attempted to kill her after she tried to fight back.

The tears that fell from her cheeks carried only a curse as they caused her cheeks to sting from the cold, her heart shattered was only breaking even further as it could barely take the pain and the adrenaline any further.

"Daichii. Why? Why did you do it?", Little Rika Nishiko could barely utter as her throat was hoarse from all the crying and screaming earlier. The girl who was nobility and living in a lavish lifestyle was now far away from the home that was destroyed right in front of her, by someone she loved dearly.

How did his kind smile suddenly turn so menacing, unadulterated evil as his smile was a wide grin and blood blemished and stained his lips and teeth along with his hands. His hands were stained with the blood of her family, the same hands that wiped away her tears when she awoken from nightmares, that took care of her cuts, burns and bruises when the kids were horrible or when she accidentally hurt herself.

She could only hope and pray that this was a horrible nightmare, one that she would wake up from and return to her home. A world where there were no demons and one that her cousin was with her again. She wanted to go back home, she wanted to go back into her fathers arms, where the people she loved and adored were around her.

Her vision blinded by her tear and her body growing weaker from fatigue and the cold, her body gave in as she collapsed onto the cold snowy ground that pillowed her fall.

Her body convulsing and shivering heavily as her sobs left only a tiny echo in the wind, "Daichii! Daichii! Daichii why? Why?", Rika sobbed heavily, crying the name of the one whom she loved most. Her tiny fists already white were turning a soft blue from the cold as she clutched onto her light pink kimono.

Her sobs fading out as she could barely stay awake, her body growing weaker as the cold winter night was stealing away all warmth in her body, all life was being drained as she felt herself barely staying awake.

Only darkness surrounded her, her vision blurring her eyes stinging as they could barely stay open. Yet in the distance, she could only catch a glimpse of something that was glowing a beautiful red color.

A red that reminded her of a burning fire in her home where she would snuggle close too when her father read her a bedtime story. Was it really all truly a horrible dream? Was her father truly going to put her back to bed and everything would be okay? She couldn't get a true glimpse of what was coming closer to her as her eyes shut, her body giving out after running away earlier.

Warmth. Love. Gentleness. Rika could feel a soft ghostly touch caress her face.

'My little Rika, I am so sorry I couldn't protect you as I promised you and your mother' it was the voice of her kind and loving father. The man who lingered over his daughter's sleeping body looked at his daughter with sorrow and regret.

'I promise I'll watch over you, I promise that I will protect and help you however I can right now. I'm sorry I had to go so much sooner than either of us wanted', the man with long hair and well structured face and body that adorned only the finest of clothing, spoke softly to his daughter. His soft onyx eyes welling up with tears as he leaned his head down and his lips left a soft kiss on her forehead, 'I love you so much my little princess, I'm so sorry I didn't get to tell you everything'

Her mother sat next to her father, holding Rika's body next to her. "We will both protect you, Rika. I love you so much my little Rika. Your mother is here with you in the afterlife to help you too, we have to go now unfortunately", the woman with silky black hair felt her dark colored hues well up with tears as she looked at her sleeping daughters body.

She was gone from Rika's life for so long since she was so little and she couldn't stay with her for any longer, now her father was take from her. The little girl was going to wake up extremely heartbroken, but at least she was now in good hands.

A man with crimson red hair was holding the little girls body, seeing how her hair covered in snow resembled his own. She was so young, what was she doing in the snow all alone?

He couldn't think of that question right now as he held her freezing body so close, she was getting closer and closer to deaths door if he didn't get her shelter immediately.

"Don't worry. I won't let you die", his voice was soft he as he whispered to her, holding her body much smaller than his own closer to his so she could at least get some form of warmth from the dragons flame and fire.

Once she was more secure in his hold and his eyes scanned for any enemies around the area, showing the scene was clear, the man with long crimson hair started to run across the forest that was dark of the early morning as snowflakes fell from the sky and the trees. The winter was cold, very unforgiving, but the man wouldn't let this little girl die with her heart with her heart growing cold and unforgiving, no she had a stronger power and resolve than that of the burning embers of a fire burning in the night, he could feel it. Her hair was proof of her legacy.
