𝙃arumi almost never got mail. Why would she when Harry Potter is just next door? There's really no need. Unless it's from Hermione Granger, or Ron Weasley or George. But they always signed their names at the end of the letter, which is why she thought it was weird when she got a letter with no name. Rumi trekked to Harry's after that, knocking on the door and his aunt Petunia greeted her with a smile and directed her to where Harry was. Out of all the people in the house, Rumi liked Petunia and Dudley the best. Vernon was a huge, gigantic prick.

Harry was busy watering the peonies when she stopped by his side, protecting herself from the sun and she sunk beside him, not caring about her white shorts or shirt.

"Superman watering peonies, now that's a sight." Rumi chuckled a little and Harry shrieked, falling back and she laughed at her best friend, shaking her head. "Nice seeing you again Harry." Rumi declared, giving him a hug despite him being on the floor and she placed a kiss on his cheek.

"You're disgusting Rumi." Harry told her, smiling and the girl rolled her eyes.

"I try my best." Rumi shrugged. "I wanted us to read this, dunno who it's from. Since I have the boy who lived as my best friend, slayer of the Basilisk and ━"

"Don't say conquerer of the dementors, I heard you and Ron talk about it."

Rumi gasped, feigning hurt. "You dreamt it Sups." She smiled at him but pulled out the envelope anyway. "So, her or his writing is very messy but I'll try my best to help you read, my dear blind friend."

"I'm not that blind." Harry argued, shaking his head and Rumi smirked at him.

"And I don't have a crush on your cousin." Unfortunately, it was true. Rumi had a crush on Dudley and she was pretty sure he knew it, with all those knowing smirks and the kind waves. "Come on, it's reading time." Rumi cleared her throat.

"Dear Harumi,

Death isn't something we should fear, for death is something like a match-maker. He brings together souls that could never make it in the living world.

I've seen you kiss his cheek numerous times and I know I'll just have to wait for death to bring us together.

Love,
Anonymous."

Rumi looked at Harry, then at the letter and her heart gave a little jolt. She's never seen Harry in that way. He's her best friend, they both found out that they're halfblooded magical people and were thrown into the Wizarding world together, he's nothing but a brother to her. Well, until now. The letter changed that for her, for some reason.

"That's creepy." Harry remarked, though he knew exactly who the letter was from. As Rumi agreed and stuffed the letter back into her pocket, already helping him water the peonies, Harry looked back to the house, to a particular window. Just like he suspected, there stood Dudley, staring out the window. Staring at Harumi.

authors note. I know Dudley's faceclaim isn't chubby, so you can just imagine that face with a chubby body. Also, I'm so excited to be writing this! I haven't read or written a Dudley fanfiction ever so I'm pretty stoked!
