THE STORY /ðə stɔːri/; premise based on the novel Murder on the Orient Express by Agatha Christie. While the exact plot won't be the same, the similarities are that it is about a murder that takes place on the Orient Express, and that it is set in 1935, mostly realistic to the time although passengers can of course be of different ethnicities (which was not common at the time). Roles will not intentionally be based off of any existing characters, and such roles may also encompass a variety of different ages, as in the novel.

THE GAME /ðə ɡeɪm/; the title Cluedo is derived from the board game of the same name. It is a murder mystery game where one character is killed and all the existing ones become suspects. They have different roles, such as the doctor, the colonel etc. You do not need to be familiar with it, nor do you need to have read Murder on the Orient Express, but some of the roles may be loosely based off of characters from the game.

𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐏𝐋𝐎𝐓.
❝But I know human nature, my friend, and I tell you that, suddenly confronted with the possibility of being tried for murder, the most innocent person will lose his head and do the most absurd things.❞

A passenger is dead. When a wealthy young heiress is found stabbed to death in her compartment, with the doors locked from the inside, everyone is left stunned as to how it could have happened, why it happened. Twelve passengers become suspects, and the murderer better keep their wits about them when there is a detective hot on their trail. Each one is there for a different reason, traveling to different places, and when the train is stopped from continuing on its journey, none are likely to reach their destinations any time soon.

The Orient Express, equipped with separate compartments to sleep in and a dining cart, is suddenly transformed into everyone's hell. The police at Yugoslavia will surely arrest someone, and it's up to each passenger to ensure it's not them.

Will someone crack under the pressure?

𝐀𝐃𝐃𝐈𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍𝐀𝐋 𝐈𝐍𝐅𝐎𝐑𝐌𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍.

The victim: Arabella Cavendish is the daughter of the Duke of Devonshire. Or rather, she was. Twenty seven years old when she passed, she was set to inherit a rather large sum, and it seems she had a connection to all twelve of the passengers being suspected. She was known to be spoilt and quite disagreeable, but the consensus is that she didn't deserve death. When all of the suspects seem to have a potential motive to kill, each one of them has to face the music.

The story will start when she is still alive, following each of the passengers as they board the train. While I will have a detective OC, there is no 'main character' and it will be written from a general perspective, focusing on each character as equally as possible. For anyone who wants an idea of the general 'vibes' of the setting, watching the trailer of Murder on the Orient Express (2017) is an efficient way to do so! Characters would dress in a similar way too.

It will be set in winter, December specifically, transitioning into January. Opinions will be optional, and while the plot isn't focused on romance (what with the murder investigation), it is still possible, especially if it's dramatic because who doesn't love added drama that may lead to the obstruction of justice? Though of course, the murder will be solved in the end. On that point, who the murderer is will be decided after the cast comes out and only the admin of that character will know (of course, I'll ask beforehand). It is supposed to be a mystery after all, and that applies to readers too!

The roles page should be out by tomorrow, Friday by the latest. The due date will most likely be February the 20th or some time around then, it's very well possible it will be extended, it depends on the amount of interest generated, and of course, I have to get my other applyfics up to speed also!

Respect others! This is very important, naturally. If your form isn't chosen, please don't get mad at me LMAO. I'll be going off of which character I feel fits the role, regardless of admin or length. Password one is, as usual, any triggers you might have. Please do include them, so I know what kinds of topics to avoid, otherwise I'll consider anything game (aside from the obvious).

If your character is accepted, do try to be relatively active in commenting and voting! People have lives, that's totally understandable, but don't go MIA or I'll write your character less (not out of pettiness, but in order to dedicate more time to other characters! It makes sense, I think).

Roles will be predetermined, and while there are no custom slots, if there are two characters who I really like applying for one slot, your character may be put into a new role, fair warning. Go wild with the FCs, it would be preferable if their appearance suits the energy of the time period (for example, Bella Poarch would probably not be a good fit), but there's no restrictions in terms of their occupation or age. GIFs won't be used, so social media FCs are fine as long as they have a decent selection of photos.

I don't require very long forms, but it would be helpful if they exceed at least two comments. Google docs is acceptable and encouraged and there will be a template provided that you can optionally use! Please make the forms readable, so no crazy fonts or colours (my eyes)... No overpowered or one dimensional characters please! Stella being too kind for her own good isn't a flaw. Also, please do stick to the character guidelines :) There will still be adequate freedom to do as you please with the character.

If you're doing a commented form, do try to censor words like kill or any swear words, just in case Wattpad decides this is a Christian Minecraft server.
