Stepping into the unknown
Adelaide's pov
Stepping foot into my first class which was Economics I could see all the eyes shift towards me, I bit the inside of my cheek as I rushed towards the back of the classroom .
"It's amazing to have you have Adelaide" the teacher gave me a soft smile whilst all of the students eyes followed me, I hated being the center of attention.
"I heard the house burnt from gasoline being spilt" I heard someone attempt to whisper but obviously fail, looking down I shut my eyes ignoring them.
"Hey asshole maybe if you want gossip and shit try and be more quiet" A girl yelled at the guy who was definitely talking about me .
"Jamie!" The teacher yelled at her outburst, She had curly auburn hair that framed her face in a wild, yet endearing way. Her eyes were a striking shade of green, full of kindness and a hint of mischief. Whilst her skin was a darkish tan. She wore a cozy, oversized sweater and jeans, giving her a laid-back and friendly vibe. Despite her casual appearance, there was an undeniable strength in the way she carried herself, making it clear that she wasn't afraid to stand up for what she believed in.
"Sorry Ms.Donalis" Jamie sarcastically muttered sitting back in her chair, my eyes lingered onto her I couldn't help but feel relieved that someone said something because I definitely wouldn't have been able to.
"Thank you" I mouthed to her, she just gave me a soft smile before going back to her work. "Alright everyone enough chit chat eyes over here let's talk about the presidency" Ms. Donalis changed the conversation tapping the board so everyone's eyes shifted to her and away from poor ole me.
I was lost in class, I had no idea about the lesson or what was being taught obviously because this was my first day back in two months but I felt so out of place, I normally was a straight A student who answered the questions every time and was always happy to do my work , but now I just sat back and watched all this work being handed to me and I knew nothing.
"Okay guys get into your groups" Ms. Donalis spoke sitting at her desk as everyone in the class started to shift , my eyes wondered the room not sure where to go.
"Hi" Jamie came over towards me giving me a warm greeting, " hi" I greeted back nervously....why was I nervous. "All of the people in my group suck" she pulled a chair out sitting it next to me.
"I hate group work—oh my god me too!" She cut me off agreeing seeming relieved she wasn't the only one with this mindset, I giggled at her being so excited about that.
"I once partnered with this girl and the entire time when we went to the park to 'study' she was asking me to rate all of her hookups" I told her about this funny story that happened to me last year.
"Dude I was partnered with two of these fucking guys and they were just hitting on me the whole time" Jamie laughed sharing her encounter .
"Yea it's weird" my laughter died looking down at my Uggs then my nails that were painted a chrome silver. "I really like your cardigan" Jamie complimented me . "Thank you I got it while thrifting it was only $8" I yanked on my brownish cardigan .
"You thrift?" She asked, her face lighting up once again.
"Yea me and my sister used to do it allll the time—if you want to we could maybe hangout and go thrifting sometime" she suggested.
"Yea sure why not" I nodded
"Okay grea—" cutting her off the bell rung making everybody hurriedly collect their things including us.
"See you tomorrow" she waved at me.
"Hey Adelaide you mind coming here" the teacher spoke to me, oh my god was she about to tell me that I need a tutor or something .
"Here" she handed me a pamphlet, taking it I examined wondering what it was and why she gave it.
"It's a creative writing support group, I'm really sorry about what you went through and you're one of my best students...I truth think joining this club could help you" she spoke sitting on her desk.
"Thanks Ms.Donalis but I already go to therapy I don't thi— just give it a try, if you don't like it you don't have to go ever again" She softly grabbed my hand saying.
Looking down at the pamphlet that had a group of teens smiling in a circle with a paper in their hands I contemplated, I mean this could be for the best.
"Okay I'll see" I said to her, nodding she smiled at me walking out the door I sighed.
"Maybe it won't be too bad"

Standing outside of the room that the club meeting was held in I could hear chatter, I truly wasn't sure if I should do this or wanted to. It was 2:20 I still had time to go home the bell just only rung 7 minutes ago. But apart of me had a feeling that this could be good I know Amelia was always down to trying new things and wanting me to meet new people.
Shoving my phone into my back pocket I walked in to the room, "hellooo" A women who looked like she was in her 30's greeted.
"I'm Allison, this is the creative writing club would you be joining us today?" She asked a smile staying on her face.
"Hi" I spoke nervous seeing all the people in the rooms were eyeing me. "Hello sweetie" she greeted me again.
"Uhm I'm Adelaide" I picked at my pants staring around the room, this was so scary what was I even doing here.
"Come sit" she patted an empty chair walking slowly towards the chair , I sat down listening to everyone in the group talk, Everyone mainly suffered from things like bullying or losing friends I felt somewhat out of place only because my story was so fresh.
"Adelaide would you like to go?" Allison spoke , knocking me out of my thoughts my face swiftly eyed her a look of worry crowded me as I sat there confused on if I should speak or not
I took a deep breath and began to share my story. "I'd like to tell you all about my sister, Amelia. She was my best friend and my biggest supporter. Amelia had a heart full of kindness and a spirit that could light up any room. Tragically, she passed away in a which I'm sure most of you may know about. "
pausing for a moment, my voice wavering slightly. "Losing her was the hardest thing I've ever experienced. Writing became my way of coping with the grief. Every story I write is a way to keep her memory alive and to honor the incredible person she was." I ended
The room fell silent as everyone absorbed my heartfelt words I was scared wondering if they thought I was weird. Allison finally spoke, "Thank you for sharing that with us, Adelaide. Your story is incredibly moving, and we're honored to have you here."
"Yea your story was really motivating , I cant imagine what you went through and your so strong" a girl spoke up.
"Thank you"
Wrapping up the meeting since I came in late everyone stood up after clapping, scratching my head I wondered if this was the right place for me. Standing up I grabbed my bag about to walk out, but I spotted cookies....i wouldn't mind grabbing a cookie.
"Well, that was... interesting," A guy says, his tone dripping with sarcasm. "I hope you're not expecting any special treatment just because you're new."
I felt a surge of irritation but kept my composure. "I don't need special treatment," I replied coolly. "I can handle myself."
raising his eyebrow, clearly amused. "We'll see about that. This club isn't for the faint of heart."
meeting his gaze, my eyes flashing with determination. "Good. I wouldn't want it any other way."
This interaction sets the stage for the dislike I would soon have for this boy, I knew he didn't know me but I sure knew of him....everyone did he was the schools football player also apart of the schools group of assholes that cass....cassidy hung out with.
"Asshole" my face went into a look of irritation gripping onto my book bag rushing out of the room.
Looking at my watch I gasped realizing I was going to be late for dance, rushing up the stairs I shoved myself into the doors to open them leaven out of the school. My eyes wondering...where was bowie.
Finding her i rushed towards the car yanking the door to open, "you kinda have to unlock the car before trying to open it...maybe that'll help" the same voice could be heard .
Slowly turning around to stop it was him, my face furrowed, "I know" I spoke low pressing the unlock button on my keys, hearing the beep letting me know it was unlocked I opened the door once again eye on him deadly.
Chuckling he just watched me as he got into his all black mustang...rich snobby car for a rich snobby guy.
Shaking him out of my thoughts I remembered I had to go to practice, twisting my key into the engine bowie started.
Watching him speed of ridiculously too fast I followed behind.
"Asshole"
