ALLISON giggled at the feeling of the wheat gently nudging against her cheeks as she sat under the canopy of blue and yellow. Her body felt like it weighed nothing, any mountainous grudges or standards that were placed upon her shoulders dissipated whenever she visited this place. It felt like Heaven and when she turned her head to face a figure who was a vision of buzzing white she thought she was facing an angel.
Allison never saw the woman's face, only the her wistful voice and velvet touch could make up for the loss of her facial features. The Argent would openly speak to her, every night wondering who she was and what she wanted with her. Her questions were only answered with gentle laughs and sweetened words that had Allison forget what she asked.
She had been day dreaming of this field of wheat surrounded by a field of green and an endearing sunset orange, it was her place of solace. Only when she learned of her families history was when she began to share her haven with a mysterious enigma of a woman.
Allison peaked an eye open to the alarm clock and took a knife from under her pillow before piercing it through the top of the metal. A irritated groan left her as she dug her face in the mattress beneath her, every time she woke she was left with more questions than answers.
She flopped on her back and stared up at the ceiling whilst fisting her hair in her hands, "curse you, stupid brain."
Her first day at Beacon Hills was a success, she managed to not trip over or say anything remotely stupid and made a best friend within one sentence. She scored an invitation to a party and had friends to sit at lunch with though, Allison couldn't help but feel that she was being watched.
She felt like she was the next oblivious target in the horror films and Allison was constantly looking over her shoulder or in empty spaces. Katherine smirked from where she lingered in the hallways of the school, near the vending machines and empty classrooms, where she could go unnoticed and not attract much attention. One thing that was shared between Kiana and her soulmate was that the two shared a deep paranoia.
๐ช๐จ๐ ๐ญ๐ aimlessly coloured in the book that had been given to hope for ages six and up, the others were far too intercut for her to be bothered to do. She deemed it unworthy of her time and so Kiana dug it back up, she had more time on her hands than anyone else. There was no threat to her family that she knew of, no existential crisis, just peace and a long time ago that would have been all she wished for.
Though, as she coloured in between the lines a frown remained on her face as she listened to the soft murmurs of words shared between the couples within the house. Her siblings relaxed with their feet raised and hearts full whilst Kiana lay stretched out on the couch in the study with her mind empty, heart beating slowly only to keep her alive.
So, when the phone rang from across the room her head shot up and she discarded the book before speeding across the room to grab her phone from the desk. "Hello?" She tried not to sound as excited as she felt.
"Well hi there, I'd like to call to tell you about our amazing deal at Roy's carpets," a chirpy voice made the smile on her face quickly turn into a deep frown.
"Get a real job," Kiana blandly told the girl down the phone before hanging up and sighing loudly until another buzz came from her phone. "I don't want to know about your stupid carpets."
"Then you'll be happy to know I'm an expert in search and retrieve," Kathrine Pierce's sultry tone seeped through the phone and Kiana let her ears perk up.
"Katherine?"
"The one and only," she smirked with her eyes locked on a figure as she leant her lower back on the hood of her car. "I found your precious."
Kiana's grip tightened on her phone till the plastic started to crack, "are you lying to me," she gritted out but a giddiness aroused in her chest.
"Would I do that?" Katherine was met with a silence and she hummed down the speaker, "I see the irony but trust me I used every favour and the several detailed drawings." She held a piece of paper and held it to the light, one of many portraits in which Kiana drew to try and bring her dreams to life. "It's her alright."
The Mikaelson felt her breath quicken and a smile pull at the corners of her lips till she felt the corner of her eyes crinkle. "Where are you?"
"A small town called Beacon Hills."
"Consider me already there, don't leave until I get there or our deals off, whether it is the girl or not," she left no room for argument and buttoned the call.
Katherine chuckled as she thumbed her phone away in her back pocket whilst her eyes traveled over to a convertible where a shaggy haired man with a dark beard and sturdy frame sat with sunglasses. "Why would I want to miss such a gorgeous sight?"
Kiana sped up the stairs to her room and grabbed a duffle bag whilst throwing everything she owned into it as fast as she could. She knocked over many books and lamps whilst mumbling to herself on how she would introduce them to one another, her ruckus made Klaus appear at her doorway with furrowed brows.
"Sister, what- where are you going in such a hurry?" His eyes widened as she sped in front of him and grabbed his shoulders whilst shaking him.
"I found her," she whispered out as if afraid to say it out loud in case it wasn't true and her brother's mouth parted.
"You did?" He said in the same tone as her until they both fell into hushed laughter and he too grabbed her arms.
Kiana breathed loudly to try and ground herself before packing again, this time much slower, "I know." She moved to her vanity where pictures of the girl in her mind lay, some of her full frame whilst many others of her face at all angles and she picked one up gingerly. "I finally found you."
Klaus smiled though a worry lingered in his eyes, what would they do if a threat occurred and his sister was not there, like she always was. They had defeated the witches that threatened them and tried to murder both Haley and his child but more threats would come their way as they ruled New Orleans once more. However, he did not want to shame her,"bring her home," was all he said.
"Tell Hope," she murmured into his shoulder before they parted and he nodded, "her favourite aunt's going to bring her back an in law."
"I will," though, his eyes became narrowed and a warning replaced the softness, "but do be careful."
A small smirk tugged at her lips, "anyone who gets in my way are the ones you should be more concerned of." He matched her look before she pressed a small kiss to his cheek, "goodbye, Nik." That was all she said before the electricity flooded her legs and she was already diving into her car with her knuckles turning white as she gripped the steering wheel. "And hello, you," Kiana muttered to the drawing of the girl that she placed on the seat next to her before slamming her foot on the accelerator and going one hundred miles per hour down the crowded street, a few broken bones heard to be cracking from tourists but that did not stop her, nothing would now.
๐ถ๐ค๐ซ๐ข๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ค to Beacon Hills, the sign read as she slowed her speed and looked out the windows, rows and rows of trees met her sight until she came across the first building. It was dark by time she reached the town, nearing the early hours of the morning but Katherine had texted where to meet her, compelled a woman to move out of her home.
Kiana strode through the front door and threw her coat on the hanger, "Katerina!" She shouted whilst her voice echoed off of the long hallways and talk stair case, of course knowing Katherine she would not pick some lower class estate. Kiana thought the worst and clenched her fist tightly, "Katerina!"
"Shush, you'll wake the neighbours and they already don't like me," Katherine came down the stairs and stood in front of Kiana with her hands on her hips. She a pleased expression on her face. "What? Not even a thank you," she retorted but scoffed once all she received was a raised brow. "Right," she reached for her phone and went into her photo album before holding it out to Kiana who snatched it greedily.
Her eyes traced over the slightly pixilated photo andย a small smile passed by her lips as she watched the girl show off her pearly whites. She was exactly how she dreamt, the perfect replica of the woman in her mind, from her dimples to her sharp jaw.
"Her name is-"
"Allison," Kiana finished before she could say as if she didn't want anyone else to say. It had been uttered senselessly, branded into her mind, the soft whisper of her name calling out to her when Kiana found herself in the darkest parts.
Katherine went to reach back for her phone when it was pulled away, "get a new one, this one's mine."
The Petrova scoffed wildly and went to reach higher for her phone but clenched her jaw as she was met with low glowing amber eyes, a small warning that made her back off. "Got it," she said before pushing off of her heels and grabbing a bottle of wine. "Drink?"
Kiana held the phone with the photo like guarding treasure and she wearily looked to Katherine, "what game are you playing?" She squinted her eyes at her as she drank from the bottle with her feet up on the coffee table and shrugged. "You can go, I have proof."
"This town has interested me and it's not often I'm interested in just anything," Katherine held a coy look on her face as she spoke.
"More like someone in it," her bland voice made Katherine laugh whilst she sighed and tilted her head as it rested on the couch to see Kiana.
"Oh, you know me so well," she smirked and Kiana rolled her eyes with a hum before walking up the stairs, "the master bedroom is-"
"Mine? How thoughtful of you Katherine, I was just about to say the same thing." Kiana shouldered her bag and headed up the stairs whilst Katherine groaned and muttered under her breath. "I can hear you," she bellowed down the staircase and Katherine downed the bottle faster than Kiana speeding down the highway.
๐ ๐ฒ the original stepped out the doors and ventured through the town she received many odd looks, turns out they were a very closely knitted town where everyone knew everyone. It wasn't often they had strangers prowling around except now they had two. She meandered around with no true intentions apart from the fact that she wanted to see Allison for herself.
Though, as she crossed the road a police car slowly pulled to a stop slightly in front of her and she stared at the man that was headed her way. "Is there a problem, officer?" She played innocent with a friendly smile and he returned it without a bother.
"No problem at all, Miss." He tipped his sheriffs hat towards her, "I'd just like to welcome you on behalf of Beacon Hills." He outstretched his hand to her, "Sheriff Stilinski."
She eyed it with mild disgust before smiling with tight lips, "M-" Her eyes widened slightly before she cleared her throat and took her hand back, "Mallory, Kiana Mallory."
She learnt from last mistakes with Mystic Falls sheriff that they did not take kindly to Mikaelson's. Kiana was unsure of this strange town, she didn't know if he even knew of such possibilities.
He didn't seem to notice her slip up and instead grinned brightly to her, "well, good day to you, Miss Mallory." Kiana let out a breathy laugh that came out as a more uncomfortable one than anything before she nodded and walked past him, the show of her teeth falling fast and she went back to dawdling round the streets. The Sheriffs eyes on the back of her head with clear suspicion in his countenance.
Kiana walked until she began to grow bored of the same coloured houses arranged in the same straight line and couldn't help but compare it to New Orleans. Everything was so different back home, loud and rambunctious, different people and music but everything here was so quiet, so similar.
Though, as she found herself on the outskirts of town where the forest was her nose scrunched up at the strong smell of wet dog but it appeared to be mixed with something warm, metallic and delicious that it made her mouth water.
Her attention on the road wavered and she found herself venturing into the woods whilst relying on her sense of smell. The forest was vast, the scattering of animals and their quickened heartbeats made her ears twitch before she caught sight of a bloodied handprint on a tree.
She hovered the palm of her hand over it and narrowed her eyes, it was luke warm, not freshly drawn but still not cold.
Kiana wandered to the top of a hill before it dipped and the stench of blood was so putrid her eyes dilated. She sped down to the body and crouched in front of it, it was a man who appeared to be of middle age with four claw marks dragged down his chest.
His throat slit open and face littered in small nicks and cuts, she went to reach out and touch him when a ruffling of leaves made her stand up quickly. She turned to look behind her and saw no one but she could hear their heart beats, fast and panicked they sounded but Kiana couldn't be a suspect to a homicide on her first day or murder two others, she had to make a good impression.
She only hoped they didn't see her face before she used her speed and ran off onto the side walk, night fall had fell quickly during her exploration. Kiana meandered down the road with puffs of white air leaving her lips at the chill, she managed to meet the Sheriff of the town and find a dead body within twenty four hours yet she had not found Allison.
Rain started to fall heavily and within the first few drops puddles started to form, Kiana thought Mother Nature was out to dampen her mood all the more as she already soaked her clothes. Though, a thrum of a car made her turn and her eyes widened at the sight of a small, white dog bolted across the road from the forest. She acted with instinct and leapt forwards, pushing the dog out of the way but getting her her lower half completely caught by the front of the car.
Kiana groaned as she felt her hips and knee caps snapping back into place and instead of the chilling rain hitting her face she was met with several warm licks from the dog. "Yeah, your welcome," she patted his head and went to stand when she heard several footsteps stomping over to her.
"Oh my god! I am so sorry, are you okay?" Kiana dusted the rocks that stuck to her pants and as she looked up the breath was knocked from her lungs. In front of her stood her, the girl she had seen for a thousand years had ran her over, Kiana couldn't think of a better way to meet. Though, she couldn't get down on one knee and beg her to come with her, they had just met and even the original knew that would be insane, she shook her head wildly and Allison only took her silence as more worry.
"Do you have a concussion?"
Kiana thought she truly did but only from seeing the sight of her stunning soul mate stood inches away from her, she was awestruck as she stared at her. From the way her dampened hair cascaded down her shoulders to the shine in her eyes that radiated tenderness and worry. Her aura was that of compassion, beauty and kindness.
"Oh no, I think I broke her," Allison reached up and pressed her knuckles to Kiana's forehead who gently held her wrist, deciphering whether she was real or not.
"No, no I'm fine." She took the hand from her head smiled at the softness of her skin, "but your bumper isn't."
The Argent looked back at the car and looked to her incredulously, not at the fact she had not received any injuries but by the fact she was asking. "Forget about that, do you need a doctor? I can take you to the hospital right now." Though, she thought she might need to call an ambulance herself as her stomach felt like it was doing triple threats, wow, she was drop dead gorgeous.
Kiana would have sawed off her own arm if it meant she'd be able to get in the car with the girl and cursed her fast healing. "I'm alright, love." She looked down at the dog who resembled more of a white rat as he stretched his front paws on Kiana's legs whilst wagging his tail. "And so is he."
Allison clasped her hands over her mouth, "I nearly ran over a dog!" She squeaked out with tears pricking the corner of her eyes and she crouched down to pet him whilst repeating, "I'm so sorry," and pecked his head whilst holding him close to her chest.
Kiana furrowed her brows as she looked down at them, "well you did run me over," she mumbled.
"What was that?" Allison stood up with the dog in her arms.
"Nothing," she smiled tightly, "I'll just be going then," she added rather awkwardly but Allison was reaching forth with a hand and grabbed her forearm.
"At least let me give you a ride," Kiana stared into Allison's dark eyes and a relaxed expression passed her face.
She was not going to reject a ride and nodded, "I suppose," Allison smiled brightly and set the dog in the back of the car. "What's gonna happen to him?" Kiana asked with a groan of relief leaving her at the feel of warmth enveloping her from the heated seats and blast of hot air from the car.
"Shelter probably, unless an owner comes forwards but," she took her eyes off the road and Kiana thought she was going to run someone else over. "Are you sure you don't need a hospital?"
"Positive," she looked in the back seat where the dog lay still, "I'd rather take the dog home with me, if that's alright." Allison wasn't expecting that answer and nodded whilst turning the car to continue down into the centre of town.
"Y-yeah I think that's good," she smiled brightly and Kiana felt tingly at the sight of a genuine grin. "So, where am I dropping you?"
"Asking where I live before my name, how times have changed," she murmured the last part of her sentence to more herself but Allison smacked herself in the face.
"Sorry, sorry, you're not from around here, it's different seeing a stranger in such a small place." Kiana turned her head so her attention was centred on the woman in the drivers seat and cared little for the rumbling thunder around them.
"Different good?" She asked and as they reached a red light Allison eyed her, the original picked up on the quickness of her heart beat.
"Yeah," Allison cleared her throat at the green light, "so, stranger, what's your name?" The hunter should have thought it suspicious that Kiana took more than thirty seconds to answer her own name but she pardoned her seeing as she did run her over.
"It's Kiana, love and you?"
Allison stroked the leather steering wheel with her thumb, a nervousness evident that Kiana found herself hiding a grin at. Even though she nearly died she somehow managed to appear confident, relaxed, composed, dominant with an edge of danger to her as she sunk into the car seat. Along with her accent it was rich and unlike those she grew up with, it excited her. Yet, Allison found herself wanting to know the answer to one question, if she looked like that then what did the parents look like?
"I'm Allison," she spared her a look as she said her name and Kiana hummed.
"Allison," she tested the name and it brought a sensation unbeknownst to the Argent girl as she gulped in her seat.
"Where am I dropping you off, Kiana?" She tried to change the conversation, her mind running haywire from the woman next to her before being given directions. As they rode with the radio playing in a quiet silence Kiana let her eyes wander across her soul mates frame, a prominent jaw and slender neck. Fair, white skin and dark features such as her hair and eyebrows though, her outfit consisted of a jumper and skirt that ended at the middle of her thighs. Due to the rain her skin had a polished finished, the skirt hugged her legs tighter and as her eyes drifted lower Kiana let out a grunt whilst shifting in her seat.
"Are you okay?" Allison asked in worry that she would have to make a quick journey to the doctors.
Kiana nodded her head rather stiffly and faced forwards, "peachy," she said in a lower tone than before. Allison thought otherwise from how tightly her fists were holding the fabric of her pants but continued to drive. She realised how rude that could have sounded and spoke up once more, "I can pay for the damage to your car, if you'd like?" She went to breathe in a calming breath but found her eyes lulling back at the strong scent of vanilla, could she be anymore enticing?
Allison spluttered and stared at her like she had committed a felony, "what? No, no, don't be silly, if anything I should be offering to pay for your dry cleaning." Her eyes darted wearily down to Kiana's pants that were dirty and cut from the scraping on the sidewalk.
The car pulled up to the drive way and Kiana gently shook her head with a kind smile, "It's alright, thank you, Allison."
"I should be thanking you for not calling the police on my ass," a scared laugh left her, "you're not gonna call the police are you?"
Kiana reached over and placed her hand on the top part of her thigh that was covered by a thin layer of fabric. "I think if you hit the dog then maybe," a faux thoughtful look crossed her eyes, "but it was just me, so no, I won't."
The longer Allison stared at Kiana and the longer her heart felt like it was in her mouth, the familiarity of her touch was enough to make her feel like she was going to faint. "I- goodnight, Kiana," she stuttered whilst shaking her head to try and rid herself from being unable to look away from the stranger.
"Come, boy," she patted her leg and he darted out the back seat and down by her feet. "Goodnight, love," she leaned an arm on the roof of the car before shutting the door softly.
The Argent found it hard to reverse out without catching sight of this mysterious woman and wanting to have her attention on her instead of the road ahead. Though, on the drive home as she parked her car outside of her parent's house she covered her face with her hands, red creeping up her neck until it reached her cheeks and ears. I just ran someone over, why did I ogle her like that, she bit the palms of her hands to stop from screaming, she probably thinks I'm a weirdo psycho.
Kiana kept her sights on the empty space in which Allison's car once occupied with a smile plastered on her lips. Her soulmate was even more beautiful than she could have ever imagined, "what do you say to a treat?" She picked up the dog and held him with one arm whilst her wagged his tail and licked her cheek repeatedly.
"Where have you been?" Katherine asked from her space on the couch with her nose scrunching at the stench coming from her, "and what is that smell?" Her mouth dropped as a white and beige Shih Tzu did zooms around the house and turned the white couch brown with dirt within seconds, "get off the couch, vermin!" She sneered and went to grab it by the skin on the back of its neck when Kiana appeared in front of her and she jumped back at her presence.
"Don't touch the dog." The sarcasm leaving her eyes as she peered down at the vampire with a rigid expression, this dog was a free ticket to spending time with Allison. "And you can clean that when he goes to bed," she pointed to the cushions whilst the dog anxiously watched and shook his body, more dirt drops flickering on the carpet.
Katherine scoffed as muddy footprints trailed after Kiana whilst the dog followed her, "I'm not your maid." Kiana sped back to her and the dog barked in surprise, looking round for where she went.
"Then leave," she covered her mouth, "oh, that's right, everybody else out there wants to kill you and here, under this roof, you are under my protection." She lowered herself till their heads were levelled, "I do believe there's someone who's caught your attention but Katerina," she curled a piece of her hair round her finger, "you are the most selfish bitch I know, you don't care about anyone more than yourself, that is why you will stay."
Kiana stood back up and Katherine only clenched her jaw as she peered up to her, she thought on saving her the further embarrassment of her being right and walked up the stairs, the dogs muddy paw prints climbing further up the house. The original smirked as she heard Katherine fume whilst she used the shower head on the dog who jumped excitedly in the bath tub.
"What am I gonna call you?" She kneeled down the bathtub whilst rinsing off the soap, the dog just tried eating the water that fell from his head. "Yeah, I get it, I think it's a decision me and your mom have to make together."
