chapter thirty eight

use somebody

ใƒปโฅใƒป

ย  ย  THE PAST FEW days since she had returned to New Orleans had been somewhat . . . repetitive.

ย  ย  The constant arguing between Klaus and Jackson over Klaus and Jordanna's child had pissed her off, so she simply chose to ignore his existence and carry on with her day. Who was he to tell them how to deal with Dahlia?

ย  ย  So to take her mind off of Hayley's annoying husband's demands, the vampire had offered to go with Elijah and Gia to go see someone called Josephine LaRue but he ever-so-rudely declined her offer. He merely stated that he was, 'most certain that Miss. LaRue would only hate our kind more, after meeting with you, my dear.'

ย  ย  Noble asshole.

ย  ย  But that only encouraged her to go, I mean, c'mon. It was Jordanna. Of course she was going to show up and she was glad she did. Watching Gia have a go at the woman made her dayโ€”and then she and Elijah went off to go find Klaus. Where Jordanna met the magical, mystery sister Freya.

ย  ย  She may or may not have set her coat on fire.

ย  ย  But if anyone asked? It was an accident.

ย  ย  Oh, don't give her that look. She was being creepy and vague . . . it was a totally valid reason if you ask me. Freya had given none of them a reason to trust her yetโ€”and besides, she wasn't the only one who was sceptical of Freya. . . Klaus didn't trust her either, which ended in him snapping her neck.

ย  ย  Fun right?!

ย  ย  Hm, what else happened?

ย  ย  Oh! I almost forgot . . . Jordanna killed Elena.

ย  ย  Yeah, you heard it first ladies and gentleman. Elena Marie Gilbert was chopped liver, six feet under, walking up the glowing steps to heaven ( Jordanna would like to strongly protest against that last comment though, she thought that Elena should be shipped off somewhere worse, but whatever ).

ย  ย  After finding out what Kai meant when he said he'd 'sort out crazy-pants for her', she killed her. Before Damon could kill Bonnie. The two were linked after all. Sadly, Jordanna herself couldn't be present at said killing, she did it via magicโ€”she couldn't risk leaving New Orleans right now, not with everything going on.

ย  ย  So . . . she slowly rotted Elena from the inside out. The blood in her veins dried out, ( after she sneakily got Caroline to steal the cure from the doppelganger's body that was, she wasn't stupid. It was the cure for Christ's Sake, what if someone wanted it? Rebekah? Caroline? Stefan? Marcel? Naomi? ) anyway, back to Elena, her skin grew tight against her face, clinging to her like a maskโ€”a mask to cover the angelic face that everyone, stupidly, grew fond of, her bones popped outโ€”making her resemble something of a zombieโ€”Alaric's words not hers!

ย  ย  But yeah. She was pretty pleased with herself when Stefan, Caroline and, a grateful, Bonnie snuck into the morgue and took pictures of the doppelgangerโ€”maybe she 'ought to get them printed and framed. Oooh! Or could send them to Damon everyday, that'd piss him off.

Speaking of Damon, she was torn on how to deal with him. She had a revenge plan, you see.

1). Elena dies, which brought misery to the two others who were on her hit-list, Jeremy and Damon.

2). Jeremy she could just kill, it was easy really. Maybe she'd drown him like his parents drowned. She liked the symbolisation. It was undecided, but for now until she decided? Hurting him with Elena was okay.

3). And then there was Damon. That was the harder one to deal with. She wasn't going to kill him, merely because of Stefan. She cared for him way too much to be ruining a friendship over killing his brother. So, she had to sit on that one for the time being.

ย  ย  Katherine was also pretty pleased to hear about Jordanna's little ventureโ€”thanks to the Jones she was now the last standing doppelganger. Only, no one knew the Pierce was alive . . . just Jordanna. And the younger girl advised that Katherine had to avoid the temptation to see Stefan, and as much she wanted to see himโ€”she reluctantly listened to the Jones, after all ( sadly ) the great Katherine Pierce was human now, and if Damon found out she was alive . . . well, she wouldn't be alive anymore to put it mildly.

ย  ย  So, she listened to Jordanna, after all, she was the one who saved her ass when she revived her body back in Mystic Falls a year ago.

ย  ย  But enough of that. Pft, it was old news now. Who cares that she killed Elena? Well, Damon definitely cared . . . and Jeremy . . . I mean, Alaric wasn't exactly thrilled, but whatever!

ย  ย  It was fun, so she couldn't really give a rats-ass.

ย  ย  Like I said, enough of that. There were more exciting things to think about. Actually . . . there really wasn't. Jordanna was bored. Like so bored she was going out of her mind bored. She and Klaus were stood in the bathroom, the latter having just gotten out of the shower whilst Jordanna ordered another pair of shoes on her phone.

Jordanna glanced over at the Mikaelson besides her with pursed lips. She placed her phone on the counter top and narrowed her eyes at the man. "I'm bored," she said, looking down at the top of his wet hair, the water seemingly made it look darker.

"That's nice," he murmured, not taking his eyes off of whatever he was sorting out in the cupboard.

Jordanna huffed, turning to face him properly, "Nik."

"Mhm?"

Her tongue pocked the inside of her cheek as her eyes fell into slits, she was tempted to smack whatever it was out of his handsโ€”but she knew that if she did, he'd get annoyed at her.

Boringgg.

"You know where Seb is?" Jordanna asked, a teasing smile on her face as Klaus glanced up at her, he rose a brow in question.

"Naomi has him," he answered shortly, finally finishing his task as he came to a stand.

"Exactly," Jordanna responded, pushing her body up so that she sat on the edge of the counter top. "And when was the last time we were alone without a crying baby?"

"A crying baby who we both love," he pointed out with raised eyebrows.

"Yeah, sure," Jordanna waved a dismissive hand. "Totally not the point right now. No crying baby, no Elijah," she listed off on her fingers as she spoke, "No Hayley, no Fabioโ€”nothing. You know, they've been having more sex than us? "

A smirk pulled at Klaus' lips as he listened to her. "Then I suppose we 'ought to fix that," he murmured, taking a step closer to her, his hands found her hips. "Besides, Hayley and Jackson can't have all the fun, can they?"

"Absolutely not," she mumbled, face close to his own before her lips met his. It felt it had been years since they had even kissedโ€”since they had even been close enough to do so. The kiss was gentle at first . . . but grew hungry, rough, as she desperately kissed him backโ€”as though she was catching up on lost time.

Kissing Klaus, no matter how much she had done it, always brought this . . . joy to her to her body. That feeling of joy, and the simplicity of his lips on hers made her feel safe, it brought butterfly's to her stomachโ€”or perhaps moths . . . she was dead after all. But still, you get the idea.

Without breaking the kiss, his hands reached out to the hem of his henley that sat on her body, he peeled it off her skin easilyโ€”momentarily breaking the kiss as she lifted her arms up. He tossed the material to the floor, hands immediately reaching for the cotton shorts that sat comfortably on her body.

Her tongue grazed his bottom lip as she bucked her hips from the counter topโ€”allowing him to pull them off easier. "I'm going to rip them next time," Klaus muttered in frustration against her lips.

"Do that and I'll stab you," she replied at a mere whisper, voice low as her hand reached out and pulled the towel that sat lowly at his hips off of his body. A rough chuckle escaped his mouth as he felt her legs wrap around him, pulling him in closer.

"And as much as I'd enjoy that . . . " he trailed off, hand going to the side of her jaw as his lips ran down her neck, his hips grinding against hers. Her head fell back as his tongue slid over the curve of her neck. He could hear her blood pumping through her body, the smell sweet and tempting as his nose brushed the soft skin.

He felt his teeth extend and sharpen as he lifted his head, staring at her smooth neck. His fangs reached for her pulse, before he gently tore into her skin, locking in place as her hot, addictive blood flowed smoothly into his mouth like honey. It was like a drug, she was like a drug.

Her hips bucked, heavy breaths left her mouth as his tongue rolled against her neck, collecting all the blood as he pulled awayโ€”one of his hands running up and down the skin of her thigh.

He slowly dragged a hands across her thigh, moving lightly while she reached outโ€”grasping the base of his dick. Her hand rubbed him up and down, wrapping around him in soft strokes. A low groan left his lips as she thumbed the head of his dick.

A moan escaped her lips as he pushed two fingers inside of her, she cried out, rocking her hips with each wave of pleasure. Her back arched as his fingers curled, shifting to hit a different spot. Her head fell back as his lips met her neck again, open kisses being trailed along the healed skin, moving up he pressed a small kiss just below her ear.

His lips brushed the lobe as his hot breath fanned the side of her face, "That's it, love."

A breathy noise left her mouth as her hand slowed at his words, her eyes fluttered shut as she shifted her hips. His fingers pumped faster causing her lips to part as the pace increased. A cocky grin curved on Klaus' face as she moaned out in pleasure.

. . . Well, she was glad that she put the silencing spell up.

"Come on, sweetheart," he urged. Her hand grew slower, and slower around him, breathing getting faster as her bare chest heaved up and down. Everything in her body was on overdrive, she filled with euphoria as she rocked her hips against his hand, more eager. A knot grew in her stomach as he hit her g-spot.

Until he stopped, that was.

Her hand stilled against him and she lifted her head, meeting his eyes. A smirk etched on his face as he watched her push herself from the counter, feet landing on the floor beneath her. "Asshole," she snapped, narrowing her eyes at him, turning she grabbed a toothbrush and threw it at him. Klaus watched in amusement as it hit his torso before dropping to the floor.

"You'll get there," he mumbled, merely shrugging it off as he reached out and pulled her body flush to his, a ringed finger sat under her chin, tilting her head up before his hand found its place on the side of her neck, he met her lips once again. She melted into the short kiss before he pulled away. His hands trailed down to her hips as he turned her, facing the mirror.

With one push of her back she was bending over the counter top, leaning up on her forearms. He nudged his legs between hers causing them to open wider. He inhaled sharply as he pushed into her, she cried out, forehead dropping to the counter as his hips jerked against hers.

His hips continued to roll into hers, shifting in a different direction as his skin met her ass. She moaned, tightening around him. The loud sound of their skin connecting echoed around the space of the bathroom. A low groan left Klaus as he fastened his pace, rocking into her harder.

He bucked his hips roughly, a whimper leaving her mouth. Her chest rose up and down as she lifted her head, meeting his eye in the mirror as they held eye contact, her hair fell around her face messily.

His hand ran down the curve of her ass as he found her clitโ€”tauntingly rubbing it in slow circles causing her eyes to roll to the back of her head. "So beautiful," he murmured, eyes on her as more moans fell from her mouth.

Her breathing became slowed as she felt that knot tighten in her stomach once again. Her toes curled against the ground as he shifted one last time, hitting a different angle. Her body filled with heat as she felt her legs shake in pleasureโ€”coming down from her high.

His thrusts became sloppy before a low moan left his lips and he thrusted inside her deeply before stilling. They stayed there for a moment, both breathing heavily as he slowly pulled out of her.

He stepped aside, turning her around before he cupped her cheeks, meeting her lips in a chaste kiss. "Okay," she breathed out, resting her forehead against his, "We've still got it."

Klaus rose an amused brow. "Oh, bloody hell," he muttered as a loud knock sounded on the door.

"If you two don't cover up I'll stab you both," Naomi's voice called out from outside the door before a whiney cry soon followed after.

Jordanna pursed her lips, resting her head against Klaus' bare chest before she picked up the henley from the floor and shrugged the material on. Sauntering over to the door she pulled it open, popping her head out to find a distressed looking Naomi.

"He was crying and I don't know what to do with crying babies, I'm meeting Cami and Josh in ten, so here is your child . . . " she trailed off, a grimace accompanying her face as she awkwardly held the child out to the Jones.

"Give me a second, I need to . . . " Jordanna clicked her tongue. "Ermโ€”clean."

Naomi rolled her eyes, a disgusted look fell upon her face, "Ew. You know there is a bed, like, ten feet away from the bathroom."

"We know," Jordanna sent her a grin before she disappeared behind the door.

Naomi let out a huff and turned to the child in her arms, "Your parents are disgusting. I'm so sorry."

But Sebastian merely started to cry once again.

ใƒปโฅใƒป

A little while later after Naomi had given Jordanna Sebastian back, Klaus thought it to be a good idea to take him on a walk around the French Quarter. He said he 'felt bad for the poor child' because they were thrilled at the fact they had a moment alone, without him.

ย  ย  She did feel bad . . . a little bit. But it had been weeks, they couldn't even slip a quickie in the shower or anything because whilst one was in the shower the other was watching Sebastian.

ย  ย  "Are you sure this is our kid?" Jordanna asked at a hushed whisper, side-eyeing Klaus as he strolled beside her. "He's so . . . smileyโ€”it's weird," she muttered, eyes flitting down to Sebastian as he smiled at the passing tourists and civilians.

ย  ย  "Are you suggesting that we're not smiling, happy people?" Klaus asked, raising a brow at her comment.

ย  ย  "Um, yeah," she nodded, meeting his eye again.

ย  ย  Klaus opened his mouth to disagree before he pulled a face and nodded lightly, "I see your point."

ย  ย  "Would you look at that?" Jordanna crooned teasingly, leaning down so that she was in Sebastian's eyeline. "Mommy's right. Again."

ย  ย  "Don't listen to her," Klaus tutted, clasping his hands behind his back. "She's right once in a blue moon, hardly ever."

ย  ย  "Don't listen to him, Sebby. He's wrong. I was right when I said Cami was crushing on you," she pointed out. "And when-"

ย  ย  Klaus rose his hands in surrender. "I get it, sweetheart. Your ego refuses to attach to the idea that you aren't right about everything. But if it makes you feel any better, for your sake, we'll pretend you're the moreย  . . .ย  practical one in the relationship."

ย  ย  Jordanna came to a stop and narrowed her eyes, rounding the stroller she crouched down in front of the baby, "Ignore him. That's his ego talking."

ย  ย  Klaus rolled his eyes, his gaze flitted down to the Jones, "I'll be back in a moment, don't go anywhere, okay?"

ย  ย  Jordanna looked up at him and nodded, rising to her feet she rounded the stroller and watched as he walked off somewhere in the crowd. "The fuck am I gonna' go?" She muttered down to Sebastian before a sigh released her lips as she pushed the stroller back and forth soothingly.

ย  ย  Her movements stopped as a violinist on the sidewalk began playing a dark tune, the Jones looked back at the violinist, merely finding her eyes already on her. "Oh, fuck no," she muttered.

ย  ย  Sorry Nik, she dreadfully pushed through the crowds at a quickened pace, her eyes swiftly scanned their surroundings in fear that they were being followed when she suddenly caught sight of a waiter writing a message on a chalkboard outside of a restaurant:

ย  ย  A promise made is a debt to be paid.

ย  ย  Her tongue poked the inside of her cheek as she kept on walking, making her way through what seemed like a maze of people when a man abruptly stopped her, he held a large, long stemmed red and black flower in his hand.

ย  ย  Jordanna's gaze lifted from the flower up to his. "Flower, miss?" He asked, holding it out for Sebastian. "A gift for the child."

ย  ย  "Nope. He's allergic," Jordanna it brushed off, using her magic to swipe the flower from his hand, letting it hit the ground softly. "Very, very allergic. Thanks."

ย  ย  And as she moved to go around him, he stepped sideways, stopping her. "You sure?" He questioned, looking directly at Jordanna, maintaining eye contact as he pulled out another flower, the same exact one. "Black Dahlia's are in bloom. They're quite lovely."

ย  ย  "Actually, they're ugly," she snapped, using her magic to push him away. His eyes flashed pure white as he fell to his knees, groaning out in pain. Her eyes narrowed into slits as she felt her, Dahlia. And that only pissed her off more. The man started choking on blood, his hand grasped at his neck as he felt his airways close up.

ย  ย  Suddenly, Klaus appeared beside her and grabbed the man by his neck, pushing him against a lamppost, "Show yourself, witch."

ย  ย  Not even a second later Jordanna felt a hand tap her shoulder and she was welcomed with the face of Jackson. "What the fuck Fabio?" She hissed, hand flying to her chest. "You scared the shit out of me."

ย  ย  Though no answer fell from the Kenner's lips, but his eyes? His eyes did all the talking as they flickered pure white. "Nik?" Jordanna swatted her hand behind her, trying to gain his attentionโ€”the hybrid spun on his feet, releasing his hold on the salesman.

ย  ย  "I am here. I am everywhere. And I intend to take what is mine," Jackson spoke Dahlia's words, eyes flitting down to the infant that sat in the stroller.

ย  ย  Jackson suddenly let out a pained groan, hand reaching up to his head. His eyes flickered between Jordanna, Sebastian and Klausโ€”a confused look etched on his features. "What the hell? What just happened?" He asked in concern.

ย  ย  "The Wicked Witch of the East," Jordanna muttered.

ใƒปโฅใƒป

ย  ย  Jordanna, Hayley and the Mikaelson siblings were all gathered in the dining roomโ€”discussing what had happened. "Isn't that the point of a fortress? It does a better job of protecting you when you stay within its walls?" Klaus retorted with a displeased look on his face.

ย  ย  Jordanna scowled. "Oh, I'm so sorry, it was such a terrible idea to take him out-" she lifted her hand, rubbing her forehead in false dismay before she spoke up again. "Wait no, I just said your half of the conversation. After all it was your idea to take him on a fucking walk."

ย  ย  Klaus opened his mouth to retort something before the Jones cut him off.

ย  ย  "We just need to figure out what the hell we're gonna do, okay? Then you can rip my head off for things that weren't even my idea."

ย  ย  "What I would like to do, Jordanna, is take a strong leashโ€”!"

ย  ย  "I don't think now's the time to be thinking aboutโ€”"

ย  ย  "Children, please," Elijah cut them off, noting the tension rising. "Niklaus," he dragged out, rubbing a hand across his forehead. "Your ire is justified. However, Jordanna is quite right," the elder brother commented.

ย  ย  "Oh! Did you hear that, Nik?" She asked sarcastically. "I think he said 'Jordanna is quite right'," she turned to Hayley. "He said that,ย right?"

ย  ย ย  "Yep," the Marshall trailed off, shooting the couple a pointed look.

ย  ย  "Thought so," Jordanna crooned, leaning back in her seat as she crossed her arms over her chest.

ย  ย  Elijah sighed loudly, pinching between his brows. "We need to find a new strategy. Freya, if you please . . . "

ย  ย  "The spell you described . . . Dahlia calls it 'kenning'โ€”using proxies to watch her enemies from afar," Freya sighed in defeat, Klaus looked over at her, narrowing his eyes as she spoke. "But I've never seen it done quite to this scale," she admitted.

ย  ย  A fake, sarcastic smile graced Jordanna's lips. "Oh yay," she commented mockingly. "I love that. I really do."

ย  ย  Freya sent the Jones a sympathetic look. "The good news is, I know a little about how her magic works," she stated, gesturing to the tray on the table, six teacups full of brown liquid.

ย  ย  "You want us to drink that?" Jordanna pulled a face and pointed at the dirty looking drink.

ย  ย  Freya nodded, "This tonic will prevent her from using any of us."

ย  ย  Freya and Rebekah each reached for a cup, the youngest Mikaelson lifted her gaze as she noticed no one else moving. "Well, come on! This should work like a charm," she urged, taking the seat beside Freya at the dining table.

ย  ย  Elijah let out a sigh and moved to take a seat at the head before he, too, grabbed one of the cupsโ€”slowly followed by everyone else. Other than Klaus, of course.

ย  ย  "Bottoms up!" Rebekah smiled, raising her glass. Jordanna mockingly rose her glass with a false smile on her lips and downed the drink, as did the others.

ย  ย  Jordanna could've gagged. Key word: could've, she had great gag reflexesโ€”not the time. "Oh, Jesus," she muttered, inhaling harshly.

ย  ย  Klaus simply stared down at his lone glass, Elijah huffed in annoyance. "Niklaus, is there something you wish to contribute?"

ย  ย  Klaus shrugged, looking up from the glass to his older brother. "I prefer biscuits with my tea," he pursed his lips.

ย  ย  "Of course," Elijah muttered under his breath.

ย  ย  "Besides, our minds are far too strong to be invaded by kenning spells, " the dirty blond continued, ignoring his brother's comment. "No, what we experienced was a testโ€”Dahlia watching to see how we respond to aggression. She's preparing for battle. My guess is sooner, rather than later."

ย  ย  Jordanna pursed her lips, placing her chin on her hand as she shifted her gaze over to his. "Davina has kicked your ass more times then I can count, if Dahlia is stronger than her then we're in some deep shit . . . " she trailed off, shooting him a look. "Drink the fucking piss water, Nik."

ย  ย  "You're not helping your case," Klaus muttered back pettily.

ย  ย  Hayley let out a sigh, speaking up, "If she was watching us, she would know that we have our own army."

ย  ย  "She also knows where we are. And, given the immense nature of her power, we simply do not know what to expect from her. What we need to do is create a new stronghold. Something that Dahlia knows nothing about. A sanctuary from any witchcraft," Elijah added.

ย  ย  "That's a fine strategy. I offer anotherโ€”we can use Jackson to trace her magic back to its source. Find out exactly where she is," Freya offered, everyone turned their attention to the Marshall-Kenner who stiffened in her seat at the Mikaelson's words.

ย  ย  She let out a sigh as her eyes met Jordanna's. For her. "Fine, do it."

ย  ย  A delighted smile painted across Klaus' face, "Good! Then it's settled. Off you pop to your respective tasks! Me? I've always been of the opinion that the best defence is a good offense. So, I'm going to find a way to murder that godforsaken witch."

ย  ย  Jordanna internally groaned as an evil smile curved on his lips before he sauntered out of the room. "I'll go with him," she sighed, rising from her seat she grabbed her jacket and vamp-sped after the man.

ใƒปโฅใƒป

ย  ย  Down in the French Quarter Jordanna sauntered away from a mailbox with a giddy smile on her lips. Klaus shot her a suspicious look as he sat besides Davina on a bench.

ย  ย  The Mikaelson had somehow convinced the latter to help him with Dahlia. God knows why Davina accepted but she didn't mind, they needed all the help they could get with the Wicked Witch of the East.

ย  ย  Klaus let out a sigh of realisation as Jordanna came to a stand in front of the bench, stuffing her hands in the pockets of her jacket. "You sent Damon Salvatore that damned picture frame didn't you?" He rubbed a hand across his forehead, slumping further into the bench.

ย  ย  A cheeky smile graced her lips as she nodded, "And a mug . . . I may have gotten a pillow with her face on it too."

ย  ย  "Of course you did," Klaus breathed out, hiding his amusement as he rose his brows.

ย  ย  Davina looked between the two in confusion before settling her eyes on the raven-haired vampire, "What'd you do now?"

ย  ย  "I shrivelled a girl," she shrugged, grinning. "Wanna see a picture?"

ย  ย  "Um. No thanks." Davina sighed, "How we're friends, I will never know."

ย  ย  Jordanna's face scrunched up, "Opposites attract, D."

ย  ย  "If you say so," the Claire let out and turned her gaze to the Mikaelson beside her. "So, what's the deal, anyway? Aiden at your beck and call now?"

ย  ย  "I'm simply mentoring a promising young wolf." A smirk curved on his lips.

ย  ย  Davina rolled her eyes at his answer, "Josh isn't gonna be too happy when he finds out about it."

ย  ย  It was now Klaus' turn to roll his eyes. "And I am shaking in my boots at the mere thought of his displeasure," he mocked, a sarcastic tone to his voice, eliciting in a smile to break on Jordanna's face as she watched the two interact without so much as trying to kill one anotherโ€”progress! Maybe she should record it and keep it for future reference.

ย  ย  "You see, Davina, Josh and Aiden are in love, which means they both have something to lose, thus making them all too easily manipulated, should the need arise," Klaus continued with a sly smirk.

ย  ย  Davina's gaze flickered over to Jordanna momentarily before she met Klaus' eye again, a frown pulling at her face. "It must really suck to have to be you all the time," she deadpanned.

ย  ย  Klaus blinked, shrugging off his offence. "Well, it hasn't been a picnic, honestly," he responded, turning away from her.

ย  ย  Davina let out a sigh, "You know, the thing is, you have them things, too, don't you?" Klaus rolled his eyes and smiled mockingly at her words. "People you love more than anything, even yourself," the brunette continued, Klaus' smile slipped off of his lips as he lifted his gaze, meeting Jordanna's eye. "How does that feel, to be one of us? Someone with something to lose?"

ย  ย  Klaus opened his mouth to retort something back to the teenager when Davina noticed a taxi pull up at the curb, she gestured towards it, "Klaus. There."

ย  ย  The back door of the taxi opened, and Mikael stepped out onto the street, and within a second Klaus sped over to him.

ใƒปโฅใƒป

ย  ย  Jordanna stood in a secluded alley as they waited on Klaus to arrive, Davina was crouched down on the ground, pouring salt onto the cement. "You could help, you know?" The Claire girl called out, glancing back at the Jones who merely held a mirror up as she fixed her lip gloss.

ย  ย  "I could," Jordanna agreed with a nod of her head as she smacked the compact mirror shut. "But I don't want to."

ย  ย  "And to think that I almost missed you while you were away," Davina retorted.

ย  ย  "Aw, D, don't lie to yourself," Jordanna teased, walking forward she playfully messed up the Claire's hair, the younger brunette swatted her hand away with a scowl. "I know you missed me."

ย  ย  "Nope. Not even one bit," the witch denied, shaking her head as she focused on the salts. "I finally got some peace and quiet."

ย  ย  "Liar. You missed me, I know you did. I know you missed our Saturday morning shopping and our little witchy-seance's," Jordanna grinned.

ย  ย  "Your ego is bigger than Klaus'," Davina muttered under her breath.

ย  ย  "Uh, rude."

ย  ย  "I'd have to agree with the little witch, sweetheart, you do have a fairly large ego," a voice behind her called out, Jordanna huffed in annoyance and spun on her heels, facing him.

ย  ย  "We've had this talk a thousand times, you're-"

ย  ย  "Can you two have this little conversation later? Please?" Davina snapped, rising to her feet. "This is it, Klaus. One last favour, and if you don't give me his ashes, I swear I will . . . "

ย  ย  So that's how he convinced herโ€”Kol's ashes.

ย  ย  Klaus cut the young brunette off, "Davina, whatever you may think of me, I am a man of my word."

ย  ย  Suddenly a blur sped passed Jordanna and stopped beside Klaus. "Actually," Mikael appeared, looking between the three. "He's a liar, a beast," he listed off, earning an eye roll from Klaus, "And a degenerate, but in this exceptional instance, he may be of some use."

ย  ย  Klaus sighed eccentrically. "Oh good, you're back." His tone was laced with sarcasm as he spoke.

ย  ย  Mikael merely ignored his little comment with his own eyeroll and averted his gaze to the Jones, "Lovely, you're still alive. Nice to see you, Jordanna."

ย  ย  "I'd say the same, but then I'd be lying," Jordanna responded, crossing her arms over her chest as she glared at the eldest Mikaelson.

ย  ย  Mikael tutted before getting back on topic, "Dahlia's minions remain within St. Anne's Church."

ย  ย  "Clearly, it's a trap," Klaus told him in an obvious tone, side-eyeing him.

ย  ย  "Of course it's a trap," Mikael muttered in exasperation. "And how good is it that we bring surprises of our own?"

ย  ย  Davina and Jordanna shared a weirded look as the two Mikaelson's shared a smirk. "Wait. So are you two friends now?" Davina asked incredulously.

ย  ย  A look of disgust pulled at Klaus' face. "Absolutely not! We merely aligned out of necessity for the purpose we both enjoy the most . . . " he paused dramatically. "Glorious murder."

ย  ย  Davina rolled her eyes at his words as Jordanna rose a brow, was there any need for the theatrics?

ย  ย  "In fact, you'll be helping," Klaus ordered.

ย  ย  A frown etched on Davina's face. "You said you needed a binding spell," she pointed out before her frown deepened. "Actually, why didn't you just ask JJ?"

ย  ย  "Because, Davina, if this were to go wrong, and Dahlia somehow traced the magic back to us, she'd find Jordanna. Ergo, you're doing the spell and Jordanna will be out of harms way," Klaus replied honestly, clasping his hands behind his back.

ย  ย  Jordanna narrowed her eyes at him, "That's why you got her involved? God, you're a dick."

ย  ย  Klaus merely shrugged at her words, a smirk playing at his lips.

ย  ย  The Jones turned, facing the younger witch, "I'll help you, that way if the Wicked Witch of the East comes for you, she'll come for me too. And if worst comes to worst, we'll die together."

ย  ย  Davina pulled a face, "I'm thankful for the help, but if we could avoid the whole death thing . . . that'd be great. I've already died once, I don't feel like doing it again."

ย  ย  "True," Jordanna muttered. "Okay. So we'll do the spell and try not to die, how's that sound?"

ย  ย  "Great," Davina replied, sarcastically.

ย  ย  "Here, my lovely little witches-" Mikael began.

ย  ย  Jordanna pulled a face and muttered an 'ew' under her breath at his words.

ย  ย  "-is what you will bind," he pulled two leather pouches and a bottle of blood out of his pockets, handing them to the Jones. "Soil from Dahlia's homeland, which links her to this mortal coil; along with Viking ash, that of her oppressors, the source of her immense hatred; and finally, blood of her adopted child, my beloved Freya . . .ย  the closest thing to love that miserable witch has ever known."

ย  ย  Jordanna handed the ingredients for the spell to Davina. She set them in the small, salt circles she had made and examined them. "All the sources of her power bound together to create a weakness. So, what do you want us to do?"

ย  ย  "Simple: bind those ingredients into a weapon," Klaus answered her.

ย  ย  Davina rose her brows sarcastically, "Well, are we supposed to go to the toy store and get a slingshot?"

ย  ย  "We could get one of those swords?" Jordanna offered sardonically. "You know, the ones that come in a pirate set. I got one for Sebastian and told him that if he sees Dahlia to just," she made a stabbing motion with her hands. "But, I think he might be too young to even hold a sword yet . . . "

ย  ย  "He's seven months old, Jordanna," Klaus rolled his eyes. "He can't hold up a spoon, let alone a toy sword."

ย  ย  The Jones shrugged, "It was worth a shot, I guess. But seriously, what do you expect us to use?"

ย  ย  Mikael reached into his pocket and pulled out a knife, "Use this."

ย  ย  Klaus rolled his eyes at the man as Davina grimly took the knife from his hand, "You just wouldn't be you if you didn't have a knife, would you?"

ย  ย  "Well, perhaps you can steal it later and dull it's blade with your 'art'," Mikael retorted.

ย  ย  Klaus chuckled and approached the two women, though his eyes were set on Davina, "Do us this favour, help us end this evil witch's reign, and I will live up to my end of our bargain. I swear it on my son's life."

ย  ย  "Erm-"

ย  ย  Davina hesitated for a moment, "I hope you know what you're doing."

ย  ย  After Davina and Jordanna had finished the binding spell the latter went with Klaus and Mikael to go 'kill' Dahlia. You see, if Jordanna was being honest she didn't have high hopes.

ย  ย  She simply didn't think it'd work. Dahlia was much more powerful than the three of them combined. But, she could still hope for the best, that's the only thing she could do at this point.

ย  ย  The three sauntered down the aisle of the church, taking note of their surroundings as they did. "Well?" Klaus rose his voice. "What are you waiting for, you crone?!"

ย  ย  Jordanna swatted his arm, speaking at a hushed whisper, "That was my line, asshole."

ย  ย  Klaus paused in his step, rolling his eyes, "Oh I'm sorry, I'll just go back in time and take it back so you can say it instead, how's that sound?"

ย  ย  "Shut up," she grumbled and began looking around, as did the other two.

ย  ย  "Now that you've arrived, not a thing!" A voice called out to them, the three spun on their feet, finding Dahlia stood at the sacristy.

ย  ย  Her gaze flickered between the three before she settled her gaze on Mikael. Her head tilted in curiosity as she watched him grip his blade tightly in his hand. She merely brushed it off and held up her hands, summoning dozens of humans who she, magically, coerced into invading the church.

ย  ย  A small smile played at her lips, "Let us begin."

ย  ย  The three looked around at the large crowd of people surrounding them. Mikael let out a chuckle, shaking his head as he glanced over to Klaus and Jordanna. "We are well-met. So be it. Are you ready?"

ย  ย  A smirk pulled at Klaus' lips, "I was born ready."

ย  ย  Mikael flickered his gaze over to Jordanna, "And you? Little girl? Think you can take on a few piteous humans?" Mikael sneered.ย

ย  ย  The Jones rolled her eyes. "Can you old man?" She retorted. "Better be careful, you might break your back."

ย  ย  An amused chuckle sounded from Dahlia's lips as they vamped-out and lunged for the humans. The sound of cracking echoed through the church walls as the three swiftly snapped the necks of the humans when they came at them, tossing the others across the room and out of their way.

ย  ย  Jordanna's teeth sunk into one of the humans as she viciously tore into his neck. One of her hands reached out and twisted in a quick motion, the approaching human's neck snapped and they hit the floor before even touching her.

ย  ย  As she pulled away her fangs bared. At first, they had the upper hand, but after a moment Dahlia rose her hands and thrusted them in the direction of the crowd of humans. Suddenly, one of the women raised her hands and balled it into a fist, making Klaus groan out in pain and drop to his knees.

ย  ย  Not even a second later, another magically-enhanced human did the same to Mikael, temporarily incapacitating them both. Jordanna's eyes flickered around her as she waited for one of the humans to come to her nextโ€”but they never did.

ย  ย  Dahlia slowly made her way down the steps, "Do you know how easy it'd be to kill you? Them?" She gestured to the two Mikaelson's who withered in pain, "They require minimal effort, but you? You I could kill with a snap of my fingers-"

ย  ย  "I feel a but coming on," Jordanna gritted her teeth as one of the humans came at her, her hands wrapped around her neck and she swiftly snapped it, letting them drop to the floor with a thud.

ย  ย  A smirk graced Dahlia's lips as she pointed at Jordanna in agreement, "But, I needn't worry about you. Fate already has its ways set with you."

ย  ย  Fate has its what now?

ย  ย ย  "Right, well, that sounds lovely and all," Jordanna trailed off, moving her fingers around as she felt them tingle uncomfortably. "But . . . fate can wait," she said before a wooden chair flew across the room and hit Dahlia on the headโ€”breaking into large pieces.

ย  ย  Dahlia let out a groan, and while she was distracted Jordanna made her way over to Klaus. She placed her hand on his shoulder and stopped the spell on himโ€”she didn't bother with Mikaelโ€”the dirty blond rose to his feet slowly and tried to catch his breath.

ย  ย  Not even a second later the spell on Mikael was released and a chuckle echoed through the room. "Ah," Dahlia clapped, a smile on her face as a single streak of blood ran down her forehead. "I should have warned you! My acolytes are rather formidable. I gifted them with a fraction of my own power. . . "

ย  ย  The human who gave Klaus the witchy aneurism thrust her hand out once again, throwing Mikael across the room, where he landed on top of a pewโ€”breaking it into pieces.

ย  ย ย  " . . . To help level the playing field."

ย  ย  Klaus angrily lunged at Dahlia, but the human in front of her telekinetically threw him across the room, his body smashed against the railing of the balcony before he fell forward and landed in the aisle.

ย  ย  "For God's sake," Jordanna muttered when the human turned to her. Before she even had chance to bat an eyelid Dahlia's 'minion' thrusted her hand out, her body flew across the church and she landed in a row of pewsโ€”she groaned clutching her arm, her jaw clenched as she snapped it back into place and glanced down . . .

ย  ย  She broke her fucking Saint Laurent heels!

Saint-fucking-Laurent!!

ย  ย ย  Jordanna cursed under her breath and in a quick movement she reached down, grabbing the heel and lobbed it at the 'minion', the human merely smirked as she swiped her hand sideways, watching as the broken shoe hit the floor. Using that as a distraction Jordanna swiftly grabbed her other shoe at a quick speed and used her vamp-strength to throw it at her.

ย  ย  The heel of the shoe embedded in the human's foreheadโ€”the 'minion' paused, eyes wide before she dropped. Jordanna laughed manically as she pushed herself up, "Ha! I'm not mad about that shoe anymore," she avoided the small splinters of wood as she stepped over to the human and pulled the shoe from her head. "That's what you get for breaking my shoe, bitch," she muttered as she examined one of the heels. "I wonder if I can get these fixed."

ย  ย  Jordanna bared her fangs at the remaining vampires as Klaus and Mikael slowly rose to their feet. They sent an encouraging nod to one another before snapping the necks of the humans running at them. When realisation hit Jordanna.

ย  ย  "Oh, shit. She's feeding off of death you fucking idiots!" She called out, dodging the hits the humans were sending her as she tried to stop them from killing the remaining humansโ€”but they didn't hear her, too blind in their rage ( or if they did, they chose to ignore her ). "Why do I even bother?" She asked herself, throwing her elbow back, hitting one in the face causing them to drop to the floor, unconscious.

ย  ย  Her eyes fluttered shut for a moment before she swiped her hands outwards, the crowd of people dropped to the floor, not dead but passed out.

ย  ย  The two Mikaelson's paused and looked at Jordanna expectantly. "Morons," she muttered under her breath as a slow, dramatic clap echoed through the walls.

ย  ย  "Quite the operatic performance," Dahlia smiled sinisterly. "Though . . . that is the thing with these grand tragedies." Mikael grabbed the spelled blade from his jacket pocket and gripped it tightly in his hand, "In the end, all the heroes . . . " she thrusted her hand out to the three, clenching it in a fist, " . . . die."

ย  ย  Klaus and Mikael let out a groan as their muscles tensed up, as though they were trying to resist being pulled toward her. The knife in Mikael's hand clattered to the floor, several feet in front of them as the pair dropped to their knees in pain, faces slowly starting to desiccate.

ย  ย  Dahlia thrusted out her other hand in Jordanna's direction and a smirk curved at her lips. "Nice talking to you, Jordanna," she muttered before twisting her hand, the Jones' neck snapped before she dropped to the floor besides Klaus' desiccating body.

ย  ย  A little while later, Jordanna's eyes fluttered open slowly, a pounding in her head caused her to groan lightly, the pain only increased as she heard the faint voice of Dahlia call out.

ย  ย  "Don't you know I'm too powerful to kill?"

ย  ย  Jordanna lifted her head tiredly and watched as Klaus picked up the spelled blade and rose to his feet, Dahlia and Klaus glared at one another before the Mikaelson sped towards her. Before he could make contact with her, Dahlia vanished, causing Klaus to crash into the sacristy.

ย  ย  "Ouch," Jordanna muttered with a wince before dropping her head to the ground.

ย  ย
ย  ย  Elijah and Freya had joined them at the church, the latter tending to Mikael's injuries whilst Klaus and Elijah paced up and down the aisle in thought.

ย  ย ย  "How'd you even know I'd need shoes?" Jordanna asked incredulously, staring at the heels on her feet, she glanced up at the elder Mikaelson brother causing him to halt as he stared down at witch.

ย  ย  "Hayley suggested that I get them as an apology gift," Elijah began, "I was merely picking the shoes up when weโ€”" he gestured towards Freya. "Heard what was happening."

ย  ย  Klaus paused, narrowing his eyes at his brother, "At a time like this you were running around for a pair of shoes?"

ย  ย  Elijah rolled his eyes, "Yes, brother. I'd rather not have an angry, teenage vampire running around, it wouldn't exactly help the situation we're in, would it?"

ย  ย  "Are you incompetentsโ€”" Mikael shot up from his seat, anger etched on his face before a voice cut him off.

ย  ย  "We all have weaknesses," Dahlia spoke from behind them, causing them to spin on their feet and face her, only for her to disappear again. "You came here united hoping to exploit mine, and in doing so, you lost the one thing that you could have used against me . . . " she held up the knife. "The weapon you created,ย  now rendered useless."

ย  ย  She dropped the knife into the basin used for holy water, the weapon burst into flames, now destroyed. "No!" Freya cried out in distraught, lunging towards her only to be held back by Mikael.

ย  ย  Dahlia waved her hand, putting out the flame. "Now that we've dispensed with that little trinket . . . " she sighed in boredom. "Perhaps we can focus on the issue at hand? After all, I seek only that which is owed to me, nothing more. Give me the child, and you all may live. Deny me, and, well . . . you've had a taste of my power."

ย  ย  "I can't imagine your hunger for more."

ย  ย ย  Jordanna walked into the bedroom with a sigh, Sebastian in her arms. Klaus was already laid on the bed, a glass of scotch sat on the bedside table next to him, Jordanna rose her brows.

ย  ย  "Still drowning your sorrows, I see," she muttered, taking the seat next to him on the bed. As soon as his body touched the mattress, Sebastian let out a squeal and moved out of Jordanna's arms, making his way over to Klaus.

ย  ย  "Your eyes are working perfectly fine, I see," Klaus retorted.

ย  ย  Jordanna rolled her eyes and turned to her side, resting her chin in her palm as she laid down. "What do we do, Nik?" She asked with a sigh.

ย  ย  Klaus let out a defeated sigh, "I'm not quite sure, sweetheart."

ย  ย  Jordanna pursed her lips in thought, quirking a brow, "We could run?"

ย  ย  "Like cowards?" Klaus scrunched his brows together.

ย  ย  "Like parents," she corrected, shifting her gaze to Sebastian as he played with Klaus' hand. "To protect him. So far, we have nothing. Nothing to get rid of her with."

ย  ย  "We'll figure it out, sweetheart," Klaus assured her, though he didn't sound sure of himself. "But for now? I need you both to stay here . . . I was sure she was going to kill youโ€”you can't die on me, sweetheart, I can't be left alone with these incompetent idiots."

ย  ย  "If that's your way of saying 'I love you, Jordanna and it'd break me if you died' then it wasn't very good," she rose her brows.

ย  ย  "I love you, Jordanna and it would break me if you died," he repeated quietly. "Promise me, the next fight, you're here. Safe."

ย  ย  "And what about you? If I promise to stay out of it, you have to promise me that'll you'll come back to me, Nik."

ย  ย  "I can'tโ€”" he paused at the look she gave him. "Okay. I promise."

ย  ย  "Then I promise to stay out of it."

ย  ย  But the pit in her stomach was yet to leave her as she thought back to Dahlia's words, fate already has its way set with you.

ย  ย ย  What the hell did that mean?
