KLAUS WAS STUCK.

He was stuck between ridding Jordanna's body of vervain and compelling her to turn her humanity on or he could leave her be โ€”ย for now. He knew that she hadn't fully dealt with the heightened emotions. The second she turned she flipped her switch, leaving her with no time to get used to the change, and he was worried that when she did finally come back, when she finally came back to him, that all the emotions she was feeling would drown her, consume her whole and take her soul and body hostage.

He stared down at her with a slight frown crinkled on his face, his head tipped slightly as he looked down at her unconscious body. There it was again, that thin, trail of black blood ran down her nose to her Cupid's Bow, only this time, he noticed.

He hesitated before turning around, trailing out of the room in seek of Elijahโ€”hoping that he knew something toward the mysterious blood that ran down her face.

As he left, Jordanna's fingers twitched lightly, her eyelashes fluttered as she slowly regained consciousness. Her head spun, ears ringing as she fidgeted on the bed. A voice rang through her ears at a soft, eerie hum. A gentle, small voice called out to her as she lay. "Wake up. Wake up."

Her eyes fluttered open, face paling as she shot upโ€”the sound of the voice almost forgotten when she took a breath. That cunt! Her fingers reached up to the area between her mouth and nose, her thumb rubbed against itโ€”upon feeling something there.

She brought her thumb down to her eyeline, a frown fixated on her face as she stared down at the black substance. "The hell?" She whispered, almost in awe, voice hoarse.

Though her attention from the weird substance was gone as she heard the sound of footsteps heading towards her. Suddenly, a scowl made its way onto her faceโ€”all the memories flooded back to her like a tsunami. Klaus ringing her, and then slamming her head into a wall.

Prick.

So, she only saw fit to get him back.

As Klaus made his way back to their room, or rather his room, he hesitated before pushing the door open. A soft sob rippled through the bedroom, filling his ears as he stepped into the threshold. His breath hitched, eyes widened as he watched her shake, cries leaving her lips.

She was crying . . . sadness was an emotion, right? She had her humanity back? He knew it could be a trick, or perhaps it wasn't. Maybe Stefan or Bonnie had gotten to her in Mystic Falls. He didn't really have time to ask before he caused her to black out.ย

But he didn't let himself think of what ifs or maybes. His natural instinct was to go to her. To check if she was okay. He knew it, and she knew it.

He rushed to her, taking a seat beside her on the bed before his hand went to her backโ€”fingers splayed as they brushed the ends of her hair while he quietly, yet softly, shushed her.

Her tears fell onto his henley when he pulled her body to his, "T-They're gone."

She sniffled as he silently sat there. "We hadโ€”and they're just . . . " she struggled out, voice croaked.

"It's okay," he whispered, peering down at her with that all too reassuring smile on his lips. God, she nearly caved. That smile, that damned smile.

"It's notโ€”I can't," more sniffles left her. "I can'tโ€”"

But then, God, he wished he could kill her.

Her head shot up, a smile sat on her tear stricken face before a laugh fell from her lips. "I'm sorry. I can't. This-," More laughter came from her before she hopped off of the bed. "Jesus, it's a joke," she tutted as she made her way over to the mirror; which was hung on the wall. Klaus stared at her with a mix of anger and possible hurt.

She brushed her hair back, looking at the small line of blood on her forehead before she spun on her feet, pinning him a look, "You asshole! You could've dented my face."

He clenched his jaw, looking up at her before rising to his feet, striding past her he muttered, "I wish I had."

"Oh, come on!" She scoffed. "It was a joke, lighten up."

ย  ย  ย  No reply.

ย  ย  ย  "Rude!" She called out as she watched his retreating figure wander down the stairs. Great, now she was bored. Again. I guess that meant two things.

ย  ย  ย  Food and dead people.

ย  ย  ย  Her most favoured thingsย  . . . beside herself.

ย  ย  ย  Duh.

ย  ย  ย  Jordanna's head rested against the edge of the bath, a bottle of champagne tightly gripped in one hand whilst the other held a cigarette.

ย  ย  ย  Her feet rose above water as she stared at her manicured nails in admiration. There was nothing she loved more than getting her nails done, there was just something so calming about it, she couldn't explain.

ย  ย  ย  Though that calming feeling drifted away as Klaus stormed into the room, an annoyed look on his face as he dodged the trail of bodies leading up to the bathroom.

ย  ย  ย  "Can I help you?" She uttered, lifting the champagne bottle to her lips before it was snatched out of her grip by Klaus. "Jesusโ€”Calm your tits. What's up your ass?"

ย  ย  ย  You, you're up my arse. But rather than saying that as he was 100% sure she would turn it into an innuendo, he ran a hand over his mouth before speaking. "How long are you going to keep this up?"

ย  ย ย  "Keep what up?" She looked away, seeming to not be interested in the conversation as she brought the cigarette back up to her lips. Klaus, on the other hand, kept his eyes on her face. Rather than anywhere below that region. He had to stop his eyes averting anywhere lower, that anywhere lower being her chest.

ย  ย  ย  "This game that you are playing. The emotionless faรงade, turn it back on, Jordanna," Klaus spoke calmly, blankly. Not his usual tone when it came to Jordanna. Though these past four months he had taken to this blank toneโ€”this tone that no one could crack. His heart hurt too much and he didn't want anyone seeing that. He couldn't be weak. He couldn't keep her safe if he was weak. He already failed that very day four months ago, he'd be damned before he let it happen again.

ย  ย  ย ย  A scoff slid past her lips. "How about no?" A sardonic smile pulled at her lips as her free hand reached out, fingers innocently dancing up his jean clad legs before they reached near his crotch, fingers skimming past itโ€”leaving him to intake harshly as her fingers fiddled with his zipper. "Maybe you should join me, it's soo much better."

ย  ย  ย  Klaus' tongue poked the corner of his mouth as he looked down at her with a pointed look, "You know I cannot do that, Jordanna."

ย  ย  ย  The younger vampire shrugged carelessly, unbothered by his answer before she sent him a grin, pulling her hand away from his zipper she reached for the champagne bottle in his hand, "Well, then live vicariously through me."

ย  ย  ย  Another set of footsteps echoed in the room, Jordanna lifted her head an inch finding an exasperated Elijah walk in. He clenched his jaw as his eyes flickered from one dead woman to the next. "You told me I needn't worry. That you only feed when hungry or bored, Jordanna thisโ€”" his hand ran over his mouth in annoyance.

ย  ย  ย  "Which is like all the time," she muttered. "Do you know how boring this city is? Besides I'm doing the world some good," she shrugged lifting the champagne bottle to her lips, throwing the stub of her cigarette into a nearby ashtray.

ย  ย  ย  "Oh, pray tell?" Jordanna didn't miss the sarcastic tone to the older Mikaelson's voice, eliciting a grin to form on her lips.

ย  ย  ย  "I ran into some witches and they just so happened to remind me of that, oh so dreadful night many months ago, so I did the world some good and I ate them."

ย  ย  ย  "She's being productive I see," Elijah muttered to his brother.

ย  ย  ย  "Ah, he jokes," Jordanna chuckled dryly.

ย  ย  ย  "Would you prefer Niklaus or I to deal with your leftovers?" Elijah arched a brow.

ย  ย  ย  "Okay, Judgy McJudgerson," Jordanna rolled her eyes before rising to her feet, her eyes narrowed as she placed a hand on her bare hip, using the other to gesture towards the dead witches on the ground. "This isn't even that bad."

ย  ย  ย  Elijah cleared his throat awkwardly and looked away before Klaus turned, grabbing a towel. He sent his brother a pointed look as the former witch stepped out of the bath. "Don't you have somewhere else to be, Elijah?"

ย  ย  ย ย  The oldest Mikaelson didn't miss the tone in his brother's voice which lightly translated to: get the hell out before I tear your eyeballs from their sockets and feed them to you. So, he spun on his feet with a tight lipped smile and strode out the room.

ย  ย  ย  "Thanks gorgeous," Jordanna sent Klaus a grin as she grabbed the towel from his hand, the Mikaelson sent her a faux smile before clasping his hands behind his back and walking away.

ใƒปโฅใƒป

Jordanna was bored. Like bored bored. She'd been sat in the house all day, drinking. Alone.

Klaus had been busy, or most likely avoiding her. As per. But denied it and claimed he had other things to do than entertain her antics, Elijah had had it up to here with her, Hayley was too busy with trying to deal with her pack, who were also avoiding her, and Naomi was too busy with Camillie.

Yep, Blondie and Naomi had become somewhat friends during Jordanna's 'absence'. So, that left her bored. Or lonely. Maybe both, but then again, did she care? No. Because it meant that no one would bother her.

But, oddly enough it hurt more than she had wished it to. Only joking. She didn't give a rat's ass if everyone had fled. It meant she had more 'me' time. And that 'me' time consisted of drinking, killing, shopping, manicures and pedicures.

When Klaus finally returned, he found Jordanna sat in the study, legs perched atop the desk, ankles crossed with a glass of whiskey in her hand. "Honey! You're home!" She smiled widely at him before downing the rest of her drink.

Klaus fought the urge to roll his eyes as he strolled toward her, he placed his palms flat on the desk and stared down at her, "Get up, we've got stuff to do."

"Like what?" Her eyebrows rose.

"Doesn't matter, we're leaving. Get up," he spoke sternly as he looked down at herโ€”or rather glared down at her.

"So demanding," she tutted, shaking her head, moving her legs so that she could lean forward. Her own face merely inches apart from his own as her head tilted aside lightly. "I like it, it's sexy. What's in it for me?"

"Jordanna, sweetheart," his tone was patronising. "Get up and come with me."

"No," she spoke before a faux smile pulled at her lips.

This time, Klaus did roll his eyes, "If I see fit you shall kill whomever you desire to."

"If you see fit?" She scoffed. "C'mon, Nik. We both know you don't give a fuck about who lives or dies. All you care about is being the king," her voice was taunting as she spoke. "Maybe I could help you and we could both get our way-"

"Would you rather be holed up here all day?" Klaus cut her off, raising an inquisitive brow as he stared down at her. An amused smile curved on Jordanna's lips as she noticed how close their faces wereโ€”her eyes teasingly flickered down to his lips, Klaus' tongue involuntarily puckered out, bringing moister to his bottom lip as his own eyes flickered down to her plump, glossy ones.

"Okay," Jordanna breathed out, swallowing harshly before she leant back in her chair, looking up at him. "Fine. I've got nothing better to do, I suppose."

So they went on with their dayโ€”thanks to Elijah, who was on a mission to make everything right again, to make everything normal. He had sent Naomi out to take Hayley to the Bayou (to help her reconnect with her pack), and Klaus to try and get Jordanna in touch with her emotions.

He thought who better than Niklaus Mikaelson to get her to turn it back on, but it doesn't work like that. The Original Hybrid had taken it upon himself to take her around New Orleans, taking her to all the places the pair had been in the past, together.

Like all the restaurants she'd drag him toโ€”he even took her to the bridge that hovered over the small, glistening lake where she had pushed him in many months ago, truth be told he couldn't even pretend to look mad, he was smiling like an idiot as he climbed out from the water.

He (as much as it pained him to do so) had taken her to the small field with bright, yellow flowers littered on itโ€”the field in which before she flipped her switch they had buried Anastasia properly. A tree stood over the small grave with A.M carved into it, though they didn't stay long.

Jordanna had to get out of there, the place being too much. Bringing too many unwanted thoughts, memories to her head. So she ushered him else where, Klaus had told her to take a minute to decide where she wanted to go whilst he made a phone callโ€”leaving her stood there, glumly looking down at the grave.

She herself didn't know why she was still with him, if she wanted to leave, she could. But there was some part of her that was keeping her planted in spot, staring down at the small grave.

Jordanna stiffened, feeling a presence beside her. Turning slightly, she found her mother stood in place next to her, arms crossed over her chest as her hair softly blew in the wind.

"You done with this yet, amore? When are you planning on turning your humanity back on, hm?"

"Go away," Jordanna muttered under her breath, her eyes flickering up from the marking on the tree to Mary. "I mean, seriously?" She turned to her mother briefly. "Do you have nothing better to do than haunt me?"

"I'm not 'haunting' you, Jordanna," Mary-Anne rolled her eyes. "I'm trying to help you."

"I don't want your help, okay?" Jordanna snapped. "What I want is for you to leave me the fuck alone."

Mary slapped her upside the head with a scolding look on her face, "Language, I'm still your mother watch your tongue."

"Okay, mom," she mocked. "Are we done orrr?"

Mary clicked her tongue before shaking her head slightly and she was gone again. This approach wasn't working. She assumed if Jordanna saw her mother live and in person it would snap something inside her, but it didn't.

So she needed to go at it a different way, from a different angle. But then suddenly she had an epiphany . . . she was going to regret this so bad, so, so, so bad.

ใƒปโฅใƒป

Jordanna had a scowl on her face as they entered Lafayette Cemetery, her arms were crossed over her chest as she pulled her jacket closer to her body.

"Why the hell are we here, Klaus?" Jordanna asked, glancing over at him before her eyes flickered around, going from one crypt to another.

"Well, I assumed with you being a Jones witch there still may be some part of you that can feel magic," he told her. "And what better place to test that than here?" He gestured around them with a wide smile on his face.

Jordanna sent him a deadpanned look, "I died. Witch turned vampire. I can't feel anything, this is pointless."

"And how do you know that?" He rose a brow. "We've been here all of two seconds. Go on, do whatever it is you witches do." He shooed her off.

Jordanna inhaled deeply before she rolled her eyes, she turned to the crypt in front of her and, to her surprise, the name 'Deveraux' was engraved on the front of it.

She ran her tongue over her teeth, turning to call back at him, "This is stupid," she said, before placing a hand on the crypt. She held it there for a moment before she moved, spinning on her feet, she glared at him. "See? Nothing."

Klaus rolled his eyes, "That was nothing. Try again."

See, she wasn't entertaining his idea because it would 'reconnect' her to her old-self or some bullshit, she was doing this because there was still a small part of her that hoped that her magic was still there. Then maybe, just maybe she could get it back. But they better wish that day won't come. An emotionless Jordanna with magic, equals total chaos.

Her hand laid flat on the crypt, eyes fluttering shut as she concentrated. Klaus watched, tilting his head in curiosity as she sucked in a deep breath.

There was no fucking way. When you're a witch you can feel the magic around you, the strong connection you have to nature. It's as though it's apart of you. That night those four months ago, Jordanna assumed she wouldn't feel it again, that surge of energy.

ย  ย  ย ย  But she did.

ย  ย  ย ย  She felt it. The blood in her body grew hot, tingly. Energy coursed through her finger tips, working its way around her body, consuming her whole.

ย  ย  ย  But that relief she felt, was short lived.

ย  ย  ย  That feeling went as soon as it came, it was gone. She could no longer feel what she had longed to feel for those past few months. Her jaw twitched as she pulled her hand away from the crypt with a scowl.

ย  ย  ย  Turning to face Klaus her head tilted as her eyes fixated on something behind him, or someone. She nodded her head behind Klaus causing him to turn around, brows furrowed.

ย  ย ย  "Can I help you, folks?" The blond man behind Klaus asked, accent deep as he took a slow step forward, towards them.

ย  ย  ย  Jordanna's eyes narrowed as she turned her head to the right slightly, watching as another man slowly made his way to the pair, then it dawned on her. Werewolves.

ย  ย  ย  "Can we help you?" She retorted, taking a step forward closer to the Mikaelson as the two werewolves cornered them.

ย  ย  ย  "What are you doing in here? Cassie don't want no people hereโ€”especially vampires," the other werewolf snapped.

ย  ย  ย  "Cassie?" Jordanna questioned slowly with a frown. "The Harvest girl?"

ย  ย ย  Klaus tilted his head, "Well, well. Now why would you be following a witch? If I remember correctly you wolves don't seem to like them very much."

ย  ย  ย  The unknown blond shrugged, "We'd rather follow a witch than that half-breed Hayley. Plus, who are we to say no if she offers Moonlight rings?"

ย  ย  ย  "Moonlight rings, you say?" Klaus clenched his jaw before turning to Jordanna. They shared a look before he gave her a small nod, eliciting in a grin to curl on her lips.

ย  ย  ย  Jordanna sped to the blond werewolf before sinking her teeth in his neck as Klaus sped to the other, ripping his heart from his chest.

ย  ย  ย  Jordanna pulled away, licking the blood from her lips before she shoved the body away from her. Her thumb smeared underneath her lipโ€”collecting the fallen blood before she stuck her thumb in her mouth and sucked the remnants off.

ย  ย  ย  She turned to face Klaus, watching as he threw the heart of the dead werewolf aside. She tilted her head as her eyes flickered to his crimson splattered cheek. As he came to a stand in front of her, a mischievous smirk pulled at her lips causing Klaus to narrow his eyes in suspicion.

ย  ย  ย  Surprising him, she reached out and flickered her gaze up to his before she slowly smeared her thumb across his crimson covered cheek. She, once again, brought her thumb to her mouth and sucked off the remains of the blood.ย

ย  ย  ย  She smirked up at him as she pulled away, she then patted him on the shoulder and spun on her feet. "There, all better," she told him before walking away. "Come on, let's go find Cassie," she called out to him.

ย  ย  ย  Klaus inhaled deeply, adjusting his jeans before following after her.

ใƒปโฅใƒป

ย  ย  ย  "What happened to decorum?" Klaus questioned as he and Jordanna made their way around the crypts on the other side of the cemetery. "Does no one greet their guests anymore?"

ย  ย  ย  "Yoohoo!" Jordanna sang tauntingly, dragging a stick she had picked up along the railing of the dark fence, the clinking noise echoed across the foggy grounds. "Anybody home?"

ย  ย  ย  The dark clouds seemed to surround them, fog hovering over their feetโ€”the heels of Jordanna's shoes clicked as she took step after step, continuing to drag the stick against the fence, only with more forceโ€”earning a louder echo to ripple through the open air.

ย  ย  ย  Slowly, one by one werewolves appeared out of the darkness, surrounding the pair. Snarls left their mouths as the younger vampire tossed the stick in her hand a few feet away from one of the wolves, "Go fetch!"

ย  ย  ย  As the wolf lunged forward towards her she advanced to him as well, only for Klaus' arm to wrap around her waist, pulling her to him with a huff as he held his other hand upโ€”stopping the wolf in place.

ย  ย  ย  Jordanna scowled as she shrugged him off before his voice filled the cemetery, "I am rather disappointed at how many of my once formidable brethren have been neutered by a sixteen year old girl. Where is she? Where is this witch who dares craft Moonlight rings without my permission."

ย  ย  ย ย  Klaus looked around, eyes flickering from one wolf to another as he and Jordanna searched for the mystery witch.

ย  ย  ย  "Niklaus," a voice called out, startling him slightly. Turning, the pair found a short, brunette girl with short cut hair making her way toward them. "Jordanna," she nodded at the raven-haired vampire before her gaze drifted back to Klaus. "I've been expecting you."

ย  ย  ย  Klaus looked over to Jordanna as Cassie gestured for them to follow her into one of the crypts, the younger vampire only shrugged and followed after her.

ย  ย  ย  "I must offer my condolences on the tragic loss of your children," Cassie spoke as she busied herself with making tea whilst Jordanna and Klaus took a seat by the small table.

ย  ย  ย  "Wasn't it your coven who threatened their lives?" Klaus spoke dryly as he looked up to her.

ย  ย  ย  Cassie placed her cup down on the table before setting one in front of Jordanna and handing one to Klaus, only for his to be smacked out of his hand by the Jones vampire, causing it to shatter on the floor. Both eyes went to her, widened in confusion, she merely shrugged in answer. "What?"

ย  ย  ย  Was she the only rational one thinking? It could be poisoned or something, duh!

ย  ย  ย  Cassie merely plastered a smile on her face and turned back around, grabbing another cup before setting it down in front of Klaus, Jordanna rolled her eyes as she brushed her hair over her shoulder.

ย  ย  ย  "Is this tea your idea of a peace offering?" Klaus rose a brow as the young witch filled his cup.

ย  ย  ย  "Chamomile has lots of healing properties. Did you know that it is also a flowering plant?" Cassie spoke, voice calm as she took a seat opposite the pair.

ย  ย  ย  "I did," Klaus nodded. "The plants grew wild near my boyhood home. But, neither the tear, nor your botanical musings explain the reason why you've taken it upon yourself to forge new Moonlight rings."

ย  ย  ย  "I assumed that was obvious. An alliance between the wolves and the witches would restore balance to our home."

ย  ย  ย  Jordanna rose a brow, "You're like five. What do you care?"

ย  ย  ย  "A long ago, the witches and the wolves were at peace. Then came the vampire. A plague made flesh, a curse on this earthโ€”"

ย  ย  ย  "Here we go," Jordanna muttered under her breath. "The 'vampires are disgusting creatures' talk, I love this."

ย  ย  ย  Cassie inhaled deeply before she continued, she shot Jordanna a pointed look as the words left her lips. "You have no humanity, and so you punish those who do. Witches have a coven, werewolves have a pack, and so we are a constant reminder of everything that you have forsaken. Creatures such as yourself will always hate the living, and so we will always have to defend ourselves. You should understand that, Jordanna." She turned to her.

ย  ย  ย  Jordanna squinted her eyes, "Yeah, no. Witches aren't saints either,ย Cas."

ย  ย  ย  "The rings level the playing field," she continued, eyes on Klaus again. "If we are united, nothing can stand against us."

ย  ย  ย  "You mean some dogs?" Jordanna rose a brow. "You and your dogs? It's cute you think them feral things can do anything, shove a couple of rings on them and you've got yourself an army but it doesn't change the fact that no matter how many you have with you they won't trust you, it was the witches whoโ€”"

ย  ย ย  Klaus' voice cut through the air, interrupting the Jones. "She's right, they won't trust you, not completely. It's an ambitious strategy, though. But allow me to offer a few words of advice, if I may be so bold?" Klaus questioned, clenching his jaw lightly.

ย  ย  ย  Cassie nodded in answer, eyeing him suspiciously.

ย  ย ย  "New Orleans is a vicious place, and your enemies are everywhere. Behind your back, before your eyes. You will need to remain vigilant against those who would seek to destroy you, some of whom you may never see coming."

ย  ย ย  Cassie lifted her mug to her lips, "I've already begun to take precautions. In fact, I'm taking them as we speak," she hummed.

ย  ย  ย ย  "Totally not suspicious at all," Jordanna whispered to Klaus as she narrowed her eyes.

ย  ย  ย  Klaus made a discreet face of agreement before reluctantly lifting his mug to his lips, "Chamomile. It's the same tea my mother made. How I loathed it."

ย  ย  ย  "How I loathed your mother," Jordanna rolled her eyes, her own finding Cassie's as a smirk pulled at her lips. "But, God, how I'd love to kill her again, fun times."

ย  ย  ย  Cassie narrowed her eyes. "Sounds pleasant." A faux smile pulled at her lips before her eyes drifted to Klaus. "Would you have preferred mint?"

ย  ย ย  "You know, she was insane, my mother," Klaus spoke up, placing his cup down eliciting in a dry chuckle to leave Jordanna's lips.

ย  ย  Cassie rose her brows. "No it's true, she was coocooโ€”" Jordanna whistled, gesturing to her head with a snort.

ย  ย  ย  Klaus nodded in agreement, "She believe we were abominations. 'A curse on this earth, stretched out over generations,' is how she put it. But, she was the true monster."

ย  ย  ย  "Again, no lie," Jordanna hummed. "She says all that shit acting like she didn't make you what you are."

ย  ย  ย  "She sounds awful," Cassie retorted, annoyance written on her face. "Are you building to a question, Niklaus?"

ย  ย  ย  Klaus paused, looking up to her with squinted eyes, "You use my full name, as though we are familiars. I find it insulting." He paused again. "Before she died, a witch revealed that your coven was under my mother's influence. Does she speak to you now?"

ย  ย  ย  Cassie merely smile, "She doesn't have toโ€”I know exactly what she would say. She would tell you to go to your room for being so rude."

ย  ย  ย  Klaus clenched his jaw, rising to his feet as he slammed his palms down on the table by Cassie's hands. His head tilted as he looked her in the eye, though before any words could leave his mouth a large group of werewolves barged inโ€”protectively surrounding Cassie.

ย  ย  ย  "It's okay," she assured them, not looking away from Klaus. "They were just leaving."

ย  ย ย  "I will happily kill them all, I know Jordanna wouldn't mind it. Do you feel like a snack, sweetheart?" He called out to the Jones who rose to her feet with a grin.

ย  ย ย  "Definitely," Jordanna clicked her tongue, smiling widely though it faltered lightly as she noticed her mother stood behind Cassie, shaking her head. Though that action only seemed to make Jordanna want to kill them more.

ย  ย  ย  "Then, you will have murdered members of the very pack you still hope to someday lead. Besides, there's no need for bloodshed. We can always resume this discussion another day. Goodnight, Niklaus. We will speak again soon."

ย  ย  ย  Jordanna looked between Klaus, Cassie, her mother and the werewolves and ran her tongue along her teeth, "Yeah, no. I don't care about the pack so I'm just gonna . . . " she gestured to the wolves as she began taking a step toward them.

ย  ย  ย  Klaus grabbed her arm, stopping her dead in her tracks and shook his head lightly before he glanced at Cassie once more and sped off.

ย  ย  ย  "Why the hell does it smell like dogs?" Jordanna called out as she stepped out of a room in the Compound, hands splayed on the railing as she looked down to the ground floorโ€”finding Hayley escorting Crescent werewolves into the Courtyard.

ย  ย  ย  "Are we running a kennel now?" Klaus asked as he and Elijah stepped out, frowning as they watched the wolves fill the rooms of the Compound.

ย  ย  ย  "I'll handle them," Hayley assured him, glancing up momentarily. "As long as you keep Jordanna away from them, we'll be just fine."

ย  ย  ย  Jordanna pouted playfully, "I won't kill them, not yet anyway. Though thinking about it, I'm still quite hungry."

ย  ย  ย  Klaus spun on his heels, pointing up at her with a stern look, "No."

ย  ย  ย  She rose her hands in surrender cheekily before smiling down at them, "I'm not gonna be a problem, promise."

ย  ย  ย  "Yeah? Well, your promises mean jack, Jordanna," Hayley retorted, looking up to her before walking off.

ย  ย ย  "Oh, come on! Don't tell me you're still mad about that little fight?" Jordanna called out to her retreating figure. She hummed as she got no answer, turning to face Klaus and Elijah, she looked down with a smile. "Guess so."

ย  ย  ย  When she turned and made her way back into her room, she swallowed roughly, a sudden dizzy spell washing over her body. Her eyes drooped as she held onto the wall to steady herself.

ย  ย  ย  And then, suddenly, a deep, tiredness fell upon her and her body limply fell to the floor.

new orleans, louisianaย โ€” the abattoir
( jordanna's mind )

ย  ย  ย  ย  Jordanna's eyes fluttered open, the Jones pushed herself upโ€”resting on her forearms as she looked around the room.

ย  ย  ย  She was back in the Courtyard, right where Hayley and the Mikaelsons were standing previously, though it was empty. The only sound being heard was a lone leaf roughly dragging against the floor.

ย  ย  ย  The former witch pushed herself up to her feet, brushing her hair from her face as she frowned, "Hellllo?"

ย  ย  ย  Though she got no reply. It was utter silence. Until . . . here she was again. Mary-Anne.

ย  ย  ย  Jordanna pursed her lips, "Wonderful. You're here, again. Can I help you?"

ย  ย  ย  "You can help me by flipping your switch, Danny," Mary spoke softly as she slowly advanced towards her daughter.

ย  ย  ย  "No. I'm good," Jordanna smiled tightly, going to push passed her. "You have a nice night, okay?"

ย  ย  ย  "Jordanna," Mary stopped her, gripping onto her forearmโ€”holding her still in place.

ย  ย  ย  But as soon as Mary touched Jordanna, flashes of memories she didn't want resurfaced in her head. That night nine years ago. When she was younger she'd have many nightmares, and eventually they wentโ€”slipping away. Fading to the back of her mind, merely a memory.

ย  ย  ย  But it all rushed at her again, seeming to be more clear to her now that she was older. Her mother rushing into her room. Jordanna hiding in the closet. Her father . . . the dagger. Grams rushing in and pulling a sobbing ten year old away from Mary's bloodied, dead body.

ย  ย  ย  Every last memory about that night flooded through her body like a tsunami.

ย  ย  ย  Jordanna pulled her arm away with a tug, glowering at her mother, "What? You think us reminiscing about that night will trigger some emotion in me or something?"

ย  ย  ย  "Or something of the sort," Mary answered vaguely, squinting her eyes as she stared at her daughter. She didn't want it to come to thisย  . . . to him, but it seemed like she had no choice anymore.

ย  ย  ย  "Well, good luck because I learnt to deal with that a long time ago," Jordanna scoffed, making her way toward the doorway. Maybe it was one of the witchy illusions where she had to find the right exit or maybeโ€”

ย  ย  ย  "I'm sorry about this," Mary called out, stopping Jordanna in her tracks.

ย  ย  ย  The youngest Jones turned with a frown before looking back ahead, eyes widening as she took a small step backwards.

ย  ย  ย  "What? You didn't miss your old man?"

ย  ย  ย  "Oh, fuck no," she muttered under her breath before she vamp-sped away, coming to a stop on the balcony she looked down, finding her mother only stood in place.

ย  ย  ย  "Shit!" She jumped in surprise as her father stood in front of her a grin on his face.

ย  ย  ย  "Ahh, got you," he wiggled a finger in her face. "You know, J, I always knew you were weak, but seriously? You flipped your switch? Have I taught you nothing?"

ย  ย  ย  "You taught me shit," she spat.

ย  ย  ย  He tutted, "You know, I had this entire plan on how I was gonna ruin your life and everything . . . you know, tit for tat since you killed me and whatnot. Like, I'm gonna want revenge for that, obviously."

ย  ย  ย  "Obviously," she repeated dryly.

ย  ย  ย  "And don't forget the whole you stealing that magic, which is rightfully mine. But I guess it's a win win since you," he ran his finger over his neck. "And everything but I still don't feel whole, you know? I don't feel like I've gotten to avenge myself. But to truly hurt you, I can't have you like this, Danny. No, I need you to feel the hurt, the fear that'll run through your veins when I kill you. I need you to be crippled with pain when I show you what I've done to them Mikaelsons of yours."

ย  ย  ย  She rolled her eyes, "You can't kill them, dumbass. They can't die. Besides, you're dead, if you needed a reminder and they're very much alive. You can't get to them."

ย  ย  ย  Howard gasped dramatically, holding a hand to his mouth, "Can't I?"

ย  ย  ย  Jordanna frowned, following his gazeโ€”looking down at the Courtyard she found blood splayed along the walls, the floor, crimson stained the crystal clear waters in the fountain.

ย  ย  ย  Jordanna sped down the stairs, heartbeat pounding in her ears as she spotted a body on the floor. Kneeling down she rolled them onto their back, a short gasp left her lips as Hayley's dead eyes looked back up at herโ€”a whole in her chest, where her heart should be.

ย  ย  ย  A groan beside her caused her head to snap up, behind the fountain she noticed a hand twitching, getting up she rushed over to them, finding Elijah choking on his own blood as his skin began to grey, "This is your fault," he uttered before his face stilled.

ย  ย  ย  Her eyes widened, heart racking against her chest as her eyes flickered between the two. Klaus ... where the hell was Klaus?

ย  ย  ย  Howard watched in amusement as she rushed around the Compound. "Looking for him?" He called out.

ย  ย  ย  Jordanna looked up, inhaling deeply as she watched her father pull a weak, limp Klaus to him. "Don't you dare," she snapped.

ย  ย  ย ย  "What was that?" Howard asking, cupping a hand over his earโ€”the same hand holding the white oak stake in his grip. "Was that a dare?" He turned to Klaus. "I think that was a dare."

ย  ย  ย  Her breath got caught in her throat as she watched her father drive the stake into his heart. A scream left her lips as his body lit aflame. Howard carelessly threw the burning corpse over the balcony as he turned and slowly made his way down the stairs.

ย  ย  ย  Jordanna rushed to the corpse as she attempted to pat down the fire, ignoring the heat coursing through her body as her hands blistered.

ย  ย  ย  "No, no, please," she muttered with teary eyes. "Nik, Nik. Hey, no."

ย  ย  ย  "This is your fault, Jordanna," Howard taunted behind her causing her to shoot up, his eyes lit up as he watched tears flow down her cheeks. "You couldn't keep them safe because of your selfish decisions. You couldn't keep him safe."

ย  ย  ย  "Shut up," Jordanna spat as she shoved him away, hitting him repeatedly. The jaw, the nose, his eyes . . .

ย  ย ย  Howard merely spat blood at her feet as he grinned, "You're a coward, J. You turned without thinking of anyone but yourself. Klaus lost his children too, yet he pushed through. You flipped the switch, you ran away from your problems and look where it got you. All alone."

ย  ย  ย  "Shut up," she screamed out, hitting him again. "You don't know shit. Youโ€”" hit. "Don'tโ€”" after hit. "Knowโ€”" after hit. "Shit."

ย  ย  ย  "No, what I do know Jordanna is you're weak. And selfish."

ย  ย ย  "He's right, you are weak."

ย  ย  ย  Jordanna spun around with a gasp as Klaus stood in front of her, his body merely greyingโ€”no evidence of a crisp on him.

ย  ย  ย  "Stop," she mumbled, looking into the Mikaelson's eyes.

ย  ย  ย  "You couldn't protect our children, and then you run away when I needed you the most. You're a coward, Jordanna. You have no one, you've lost us all."

ย  ย  ย  "Shut up," she clamped her eyes shut.

ย  ย  ย ย  "How could I ever love you? You're nothing but a burden, Jordanna," he inched closer to her face. "You mean nothing to me."

ย  ย  ย  "Stop it."

ย  ย  ย ย  "They're all gone, J. You have nothing left and no one to blame but yourself," her father whispered down to her.

ย  ย  ย  "I regret the day I met you."

ย  ย  ย  "I hate you."

ย  ย  ย  "I never loved you. You're unloveable, Jordanna. You're nothing but a selfish, little bitch."

ย  ย  ย  And she screamed.

ย  ย  ย  Jordanna woke in her room, she shot up with a gasp. Her cheeks felt wetโ€”she was crying. It was real.

ย  ย  ย  Oh god . . .

ย  ย  ย  Her eyes flickered up, looking straight ahead she noticed the door to the nursery was open. Slowly, she pulled herself up from bed. She pushed the door open with trembling hands, finding everything in place where she had left it.

ย  ย ย  The small teddy that Caroline had given her for the baby from their 'Auntie Care' was resting in the corner of the crib. Jordanna's necklace hung from the mobile, dangling down above the crib.

ย  ย  ย  Jordanna picked up the picture frame in the corner, her, Kol and Rebekah, smiling brightly as they stood in the Ballroom of the Mikaelson Mansion back in Mystic Falls from the night of the ball.

ย  ย  ย  Her eyes prickled over even more. Oh god . . . what had she done? She helped Caroline flip Stefan's switch, she could've helped the Forbes instead of encouraging her behaviour. She could've helped Stefan.

ย  ย  ย  Her babies . . . oh god the babies. She was no mother, she couldn't do the one job she vowed to do: protect them. But she failed at that.

ย  ย  ย  A sob rippled through her body as she smashed the picture frame against the cabinet before she began breaking everything she came acrossโ€”the rocking chair, the cabinet, the crib, the mirror strung up on the wall, picture frame after picture frame.

ย  ย  ย  "What on Earthโ€”" Elijah stopped himself as he watched her smash the crib up, his eyes softening as he noticed her shaking body. Her humanity's back.

ย  ย  ย  Elijah approached her slowly, her name left his lips softly as he hesitantly grabbed her shoulders in attempt to calm her down. Jordanna shook her head, tears streaming down her face. "Get off me," she spoke weakly as she fought against him.

ย  ย  ย  "No, let me be there for you," he insisted.

ย  ย  ย  "Get off of me, Elijah," more tears ran down her face.

ย  ย  ย  "Jordannaโ€”"

ย  ย ย  Her hands slid up his neck as she looked him in the eye. Her eyes seemed far off as he stared into them, like she was somewhere else, like her mind was someplace else, when suddenly, she twisted her hand and his body dropped limply to the floor.

ย  ย  ย  Naomi had been downstairs, helping Hayley sort the werewolves into their rooms, though she'd been pulled away upon hearing destruction.

ย  ย  ย  "Jordanna?" Naomi called out as she pushed the door open lightly, eyes widening as a glass shard from the mirror that had earlier hung on the wall flew at her face, stopping merely an inch away from the tip of her nose.

ย  ย ย  Jordanna froze, looking down at the hand that was held in front of herโ€”almost naturally, an instinct.

ย  ย  ย  Naomi reached out and threw the glass to the floor, mouth agape as she looked down at the vampire dumbfounded. As Jordanna looked up to meet her eyes, a small gasp left the Tate's mouth.

ย  ย  ย  "JJ . . .ย  your eyes."

ย  ย ย  Jordanna looked down at the smashed glass shard by her foot, crouching down she grabbed it in her hand. Lifting it up to her face her eyes widened as they stared back at herโ€”the iris of her eyes flickered white as small, red lines spread across them.

ย  ย  ย  Jordanna looked back up to Naomi before she sped passed herโ€”only a second later Klaus made his way into the room, a frown on his face as his eyes drifted from Elijah to Naomi and finally, to the destroyed nursery.

ย  ย ย  "What the bloody hell happened?" He questioned eliciting in a sigh from Naomi.

ย  ย  ย  "Jordanna happened."
