chapter twenty four

twin flames

ใƒปโฅใƒป

ย  ย ย  EMOTIONS OR NO emotions Jordanna Jones adored Caroline Forbes. It was like they were like twin flames or something. No matter what, she held a special place in her heart. She was like her soulmate.

Even if she was an emotionless bitch of a girlโ€”no scratch that, bitch of a woman she still couldn't find it in her un-beating heart to say a bad word toward the blonde. She was serious when she said they were twin flames, she was sure that in another life they were togetherโ€”happy as Larry or whatever.

And then there was Klaus Mikaelson.

Niklaus Mikaelson was her lifeline. He had stolen her entire heart. She had fallen bad in the past (there was this one ex-girlfriend she had and she was down so bad she didn't even grasp onto the fact that she was a controlling fucking bitch), but with Klaus (and now don't roll your eyes) but he was basically, to sum it up, her everything.

And I know what you might be thinkingโ€”he's a psychopathic murderer yada yada, but firstly he's hot as shit, secondly he's hot as fucking shit. But seriously, being with him was like she was floating or something. He was so fucking charming it should be illegal.

And while she loved the moments where she felt like she was floating, like she was up in the clouds and it was only the two of them in the room, she loved the storm in all the calming rain. She loved the fights, she loved the fact that even though the two were so monumentally fucked upโ€”they'd still have each other in the end.

She loved the thunder, the whirlwind, the fire. She just loved Klaus. But she needed an escape asap, because even with her switch flipped she was scared that he would worm his way back in. That he would worm his way into her head, attacking her with all his charmingness and gentleness.

She needed to distance herselfโ€”because she knew that if he kept breaking that shell hard exterior she had consumed herself with, if he kept breaking the barrier she had to protect herself from her emotions piece by piece, he would slip his way back in and boom! She'd be back to normal. Only she wouldn't.

So when Caroline Forbes called her after she woke from Klaus breaking her neck and offered her an escape from the Mikaelsons for a few days she jumped at the chance to go. She didn't tell anyone where she was going, not even Klaus, she just jumped in her car and sped down the highway until she found the blonde vampire.

Jordanna and Caroline burst into the latter's dorm room, several shopping bags in handโ€”barely sparing a glance at the other two in the room, who shared weirded looks at their utmost arrival.

"Caroline. Um, you're here," Elena stuttered out, before her eyes flickered to Jordanna. "And Jordanna . . . you're here too."

"And you're perceptive," Caroline sighed loudly, walking past the Bennett and Gilbert before setting her bags down onto the bed.

Elena stared at the two dumbfounded for a moment before speaking up again, "Jordanna . . . youโ€”you turned it off."

Jordanna sucked on her teeth before looking up with a bored expression on her face, "I just lost my kids, so yeah, Elena. I turned it off, God mind your own business."

"Right?" Caroline muttered under her breath. "So freakin' nosy."

"Uh, what are you both doing?" Elena furrowed her brows as she watched the former witch help the blonde unpack her shopping bags.

"Starting over," Caroline announced with a grin on her face, pulling items from her bag before setting them on the bed. "New sheets, new clothes. Hey, I even got a new blow-dryer."

Upon feeling a nudge to her side, Caroline looked at Jordanna with raised brows. The raven haired vampire pointed at the shocked Bennett witch who stared at her two emotionless best friends.

"Oh my God! Bonnie's back. Hi," Caroline tilted her head in bewilderment. "I thought you were trapped in 1994 . . . "

"I thought she was like dead," Jordanna said slowly, brows furrowed. "Wow. Okay, apparently not. Well I died too, so, like, twins!"

"Huh," Bonnie breathed out, a confused expression on her face before she turned to Caroline. "Uhโ€”I got out." Her gaze flickered back to Jordanna, a sullen look on her features as her brows creased, "You lost yourโ€”wait, them?"

Bonnie Bennett was dumbfounded. The first time she had seen her two best friends after coming back from the Prison World and they flipped the switch, bye-bye emotions. Then to only find out not only did Elizabeth Forbes fall victim to the Grim Reaper but Jordanna's child had, only then to find out that it wasn't child, it was children. Plural. What ... the ... fuck?

"Them, yes," Jordanna nodded along as she pulled out a dress Caroline had purchased, she the held it up so she could get a better look at it. She turned to Caroline and the blonde nodded in approval. "Two. Twins," she dismissively waved a hand. "Really weird actually, kinda' thought since the gene skipped me I'd be right as rain but apparently not, and now I've no longer got children so here we are."

"Jordanna," Bonnie stammered out. "I'm so sorry, I can'tโ€”"

"News of the past, Bon Bon," she brushed it off before she picked up a top from the bottom of her shopping bag and strode toward the Bennett, holding it against her body. "Ooh! This colour looks great on you, don't you think, Caroline?"

Caroline looked up, a smirk pulled at her pink glossy lips, "You'd look hot in that, Bonnie."

Bonnie shared a freaked out look with Elena before awkwardly clearing her throat, turning to the blonde, "I heard about your mom Care, I'm sorry."

Caroline hummed in answer, continuing to unpack her bags with the help of Jordanna, the pair going back to not caring the least bit to see the Bennett.

"Uh, we . . . we've been worried about you, Caroline," Elena told the Forbes, anxiously fiddling with her fingers before she turned to the raven haired vampire who was chewing gum (rather obnoxiously). "And Stefan's been worried about you, Jordanna."

"That's nice to know," Jordanna murmured sarcastically under her breath.

Caroline turned to Elena, squinting her eyes. "You mean, you were worried about those around me," she corrected her. "Like if I killed them. Okay. Funny story. You remember Liam?"

"Liam?" Jordanna tilted her head, moving the shopping bags off of the bed before she took a seat on the mattress, crossing one leg over the other.

"Oh! Elena dated this pre-med hottie, but then realized she still had feelings for Damon, so she compelled him to forget that they ever had a thing," Caroline explained, looking down to the younger vampire.

"I'd say go Elena but Damon sucked you back in so I take it back," Jordanna flashed a sarcastic smile.

"Caroline, what did you do to Liam?" Elena ignored Jordanna's comment, looking solely at the Forbes.

"I ate him," she grinned eliciting in a snort from the Jones. "And he was delicious." Caroline and Jordanna's smiles only grew as they watched Elena's face contort into one of angerโ€”or maybe shock. "I mean, you know how cute guys just naturally taste better?"

Jordanna grinned, drastically pointing a finger at Caroline, "They do! It's fucking weird."

"You killed Elena's ex?" Bonnie's mouth gaped open.

Caroline rolled her eyes with a scoff, "Okay. Can I just tell my story please?" She turned her gaze to Jordanna, muttering, "Remind me why we're glad she's back again."

"I didn't know we were . . . " Jordanna trailed off, Caroline pulled a face before humming.

"Please tell me Liam is not dead," Elena demanded, taking a small step forward.

"He's dead," Jordanna told her bluntly, Elena's eyes widened earning a bubble of laughter to ripple through the room. "Only kidding, carry on Caroline."

"Fine. So, I was feeding . . ."

And she went on to tell them the story, of how she fed and he (ever so annoyingly), got blood on her necklace. Then Jordanna had shown up and gifted her a beautiful diamond bracelet which she had stolen from Francesca's security guard back in New Orleans, though it was more of a spite gift seeing as (with no surprise), Jordanna won the competition.

"So, you didn't kill him because it would be inconvenient?" Elena's face scrunched up as Caroline took a seat on the bed beside Jordanna and reached for the champagne bottle.

"You should be happy he's not dead 'Lena." Elena inhaled sharply at the nickname, as a kid she adored it, now whenever she heard it slip from Jordanna's perfectly glossed lips she wanted to stake herself. "I wanted to kill your little boy-toy but Care wouldn't let me."

"Yeah, Elena, be grateful. I shut off my humanity. I didn't turn into an idiot," Caroline rolled her eyes, taking a sip from the champagne bottle before she passed it over to Jordanna.

As the vampire took it in her hands, her brows creased, "That felt like a dig at me," she looked up to Bonnie. "Was that a dig at me?"

"The last thing I want to do is give you a reason to ruin my life," Caroline continued with a scoff.

"Huh. It's so weird. It's like she's Caroline, but she's not," Bonnie breathed out before looking at Jordanna. "Same with Jords, it's creepy."

"Oh, Bonnie, how we all missed your commentary," Caroline exclaimed sarcastically. "Anyway, in return for my good behaviour, I want a year where I don't have to feel pain or grief or remorse. You're not gonna lock me in a cell and dry me out, and you're definitely not gonna try to trigger some latent emotion, hoping to snap my humanity back on."

"So all you want is for us to leave you alone, and then you'll promise not to kill anyone?" Elena's face bundled up in confusion.

"That's all I want," Caroline nodded. "Now granted, if anyone tries anything to flip my switch back onโ€”and I mean anything, I'll become your worst nightmare."

Bonnie and Elena shared a look.

"Great!" She turned to Jordanna who was sat mindlessly sipping on the champagne. "Wanna get a latte?"

"God, yes," Jordanna groaned, before she shoved the bottle into Caroline's grip, who then passed it off to Bonnie with a grimace.

"See you!" Caroline linked her arm in Jordanna's before sauntering out the room. The two strolled down the hallwayโ€”when the pair passed a mirror strung up on the wall, Jordanna halted.

She turned to the blonde and pursed her lips, Caroline rose her brows as the raven haired vampire spoke. "Hold on, I'll be there in a minute."

Caroline pulled a weirded face but nodded nonetheless, leaving Jordanna stood in the empty hallway. The former witch spun on her feet slowly before speaking up again, "Hellllo? Who's haunting me today?"

Here's the funny thing, now don't call her insane (she totally was going insane), but she was like 69% sure she saw someone in the mirror. Kinda' like in a movie when you see someone and turn around but they're not actually there.

Creepy, right?

She scoffed at her thoughts and spun on her heels, eyes only widening as she stood face to face with her mother, her very dead mother.

"Hello, amore."

Jordanna squinted her eyes, slowly raising her hand, her pointer finger shot out and poked her mom in the shoulder. Mary's face only held an amused look as her daughter continued to poke her in bewilderment.

"What the fuck?" Jordanna breathed out before her jaw tightened. "Get out of my fucking head."

And she stormed passed her, finding a girl stood in the hallway, books in hand staring at her like she grew three heads.

"What the fuck are you looking at?"

ใƒปโฅใƒป

Jordanna and Caroline strode into the Coffee House, (aka the new Mystic Grill) the pair walked over to the bar, Jordanna boredly drummed her fingertips against the counter as they waited.

Caroline placed her chin in her palm, elbows rested on surface as she watched Jordanna in amusement."Helllo? Anybody there?" Jordanna crooned, rather loudly.

When the waitress finally showed up and asked them for their orders Jordanna turned to the Forbes vampire beside her with narrowed eyes, but the blonde didn't pay her any mindโ€”her attention was solely on a pair sitting near the entrance.

"Who is it?" Jordanna whispered, leaning into the blonde as her gaze narrowed down on them. A girl and a boyโ€”or a man, whatever.

Caroline pointed to the man who sat, a teacup held in his hand, "That's Enzo," she whispered back.

"The Enzo?" Jordanna mocked enthusiasm.

"The Enzo," Caroline clarified with a nod of her head. The two turned and collected their drinks muttering a 'thank you', in unison before striding toward the man.

"Perhaps you didn't hear me. I said I'm a vampire," the man, Enzo, insisted as he spoke to the girl opposite him. "You know, Anne Rice, Dracula, that dreadful 'Twilight' series," he dismissed with disgust.

"No. No, I know what they are. I just thought there'd be more to it," the girl sitting opposite him spoke.

"It's okay. The whole vampire thing is over anyway," Caroline interrupted as she and Jordanna walked over.

"Caroline," Enzo greeted before his eyes flitted over to Jordanna. "Caroline's friend, and you are?"

"Jordanna," she told him, Enzo nodded, eyes squinting slightly in realisation.

"Ah, I was wondering when I'd get the luxury of meeting you," Enzo grinned. "Caroline said you were gorgeous but not this gorgeous. I'm Enzo, pleasure."

Caroline rolled her eyes as her best friend turned to her with a teasing grin on her face, "I'm flattered, truly Care."

"Shut up," the blonde gritted out before turning to Enzo. "And you? Stop talking to her unless you wanna' be 6ft underโ€”she has a thing for psychotic men with accents. Not like I care if he kills you or anything but where's the fun in that?"

"I do," Jordanna nodded with a tight smile. "Realllly psychotic men with British accents. Anyway, who is this lovely girl we're telling all our deepest, darkest secrets to?"

"I'm Sarah," the girl introduced, turning back to face the vampires.

Jordanna nodded boredly, a strained smile on her face whilst Caroline's head tilted, mouth slightly agape as she thought, "Sarah. Photographer Sarah. Stefan'sโ€”"

"Darling," Enzo interrupted the blonde before she could continue, he turned to Sarah and began compelling her. "You need a drink from the bar."

Sarah got up and walked away, Enzo's eyes trailed after her as he watched her make her way over to the bar before his gaze flitted back to the pair in front of him.

"It is so nice to not care what you're up to with that poor girl." A chuckle left the blonde's lips. "Old me would have been in such a moral quandary right now."

Jordanna snorted, "You would've gone all control freaky on him."

Enzo frowned in confusion. "Old you?" Caroline merely turned to Jordanna, the pair flashed their teeth in answer. Enzo rolled his eyes in realization. "Oh, you didn't."

"I did," Caroline nodded happily, smiling brightly. "Right after my mom's funeral. Thanks for coming by the way. Kidding! I don't really care about that either."

Jordanna swung an arm around the blonde's neck, and turned to Enzo with a wide smile, "Isn't she just amazing?"

Enzo nodded dryly, "You're a laugh riot, aren't you?"

"We're actually a little bored, which is why I'm recruiting cute boys to come to Whitmore's warehouse party tonight. You like to dance, right?"

"Yeah, I love it," Enzo nodded, sceptically watching her.

"See you there," she grinned before leading Jordanna away, the raven-haired vampire turned back and wiggled her fingers in goodbye.

ใƒปโฅใƒป

Jordanna's hips swung as she danced to the beat of the music, the heartbeats of those surrounding her echoed in her ears. The temptation to tear their throats out was strong, so fucking strong.

So strong that she had no other choice than to grab somebody and do exactly that, it's not like she cared anyway. It was too tempting. Like when you know you need to stop doing something but your body involuntarily does it anyway.

So, she made her way to the bar and within a second the bartender placed a beer down in front of her as he was in a rushโ€”serving student to student.

"Seriously?" She scoffed looking down at the beer bottle before shaking her head lightly, lifting it to her lips. Placing it back down on the counter her eyes scanned the bar as she searched for someone, her prey for the night.

And she found them, well him. Some frat boy who was making it wayy too obvious that he was checking her out. Yikes. But she ignored the cringing feeling her body felt and brought out her perfected acting skills.

Turning slightly she left her fingers trail over the rim of the beer bottle, her head tilted aside before she brushed her hair from her neck (apparently guys liked that, but I mean she could see the appeal to the neck if you get what I'm saying).

But that was all it took for him to fall into her trap. The poor boy thought he was going to 'get some' but all he's going to get is a very, very long sleep.

As the frat boy made his way over to her she turned and met Caroline's eyes as the blonde danced. The Forbes vampire winked at her before turning back to the her dance partner.

Jordanna spaced out as he spoke, blabbering on and on about sports. And she only had four words toward that topic: shut the fuck up.

So, she grabbed his hand and pulled him aside, leading him to the toilets. Now, it didn't look unusual. There was many horny individuals 'getting it on' in there so no one spared them a second glance as she pulled him into a cubical.

Firstly, this is not going to go how some of you may thinkโ€”let it be known, humanity or not Jordanna wasn't a cheat, granted she nor Klaus knew what the fuck the issue with them was at the moment but she didn't fuck with that shit.

Secondly, yeah, there's no secondly. He's going to die. That's it.

His back slammed against the the cubical door, a wide smirk pulled at his lips, don't get me wrong he was attractive in a weird way but did that change the fact she was going to tear his throat out? No. It did not.

"Little rough aren't we?" He whispered lowly, tilting his head down to look at her so his lips were nearly touching hers before she pulled away with a grimace. "What? No kiss, straight to business?"

She could've fucking gagged when he reached for his belt before she grabbed his hand stopping him, giving him a sickly sweet smile, "I wouldn't touch you with a 10ft pole."

And as her fangs bared and veins under her eyes bulged her smile grew as she listened to his heart beat accelerate. And when she felt his skin breaking from her fangs she felt euphoric. Like that feeling with Klaus, she felt in the clouds.

Grabbing his limp, dead body she dragged it with a huff, scoffing lightly as his head lolled into her chest, "Well, this is awkward," she muttered before placing him on the toilet seat and slipped out of the restroom.

ใƒปโฅใƒป

Jordanna stood at the bar again, a grin on her face as she looked at the bartender who placed a tequila shot in front of her, "Finally. Thank you! A real drink."

"Hey JJ," Stefan said as he slid into the seat beside her, eliciting in her smile widening as she turned to him, placing her chin in her palm as her elbow rested on the counter.

"Well, hello Stefan Salvatore," she teased. "I almost forgot you existed."

"Ouch," he whistled.

"Almost," she pointed at him, dragging the word out. "What? You here to babysit me and Care?"

"I'm not here to babysit either of you, Jords."

"No?" She rose her brows. "What are you here for then? Fun? Here for the girls, Stef, is that it? Are you looking for a midnight snack?"

He chuckled lightly, looking down at his feet before he met her eyes again. "I missed you, you know? I haven't seen you in monthsโ€”I just wanted to say I'm sorry, I heard about your-"

"Nope," she dismissed him, shaking her head. "We're not doing that, you're not gonna get in my head and you're not gonna do a whole fucking speech about emotions or whatever or I will actually stake myself."

"Yeah, well, I'm gonna do it anyway so shut up," Stefan retorted sassily and she narrowed her eyes at him in turn. "Look, I know it hurts, I know that. But let me be there for you, for both of you. It will hurt like hell, and you'll feel like you want to die but it'll pass and I'll be there with you, I promise. You once said to me that life is crappy and it hurts but you've gotta push through. JJ, I need you to push through. Please."

Stefan watched as she gulped thickly, looking away she avoided his eye before she looked back at him, "Go bother someone else Stefan."

And she left him standing there.

CARE
meet me outside in 5.

ย  ย ย  Jordanna stared down at her phone with a frown on her face before she shoved it in her pocket. Pushing through the sea of bodies, she made her way to the entrance, only to find Damon and another man pushing their way through the door.

ย  ย  ย  "Well, well, look who's not dead," Jordanna hummed, a false smile on her face as she looked up to the Salvatore.

ย  ย  ย  "Lovely, you're here too," Damon sighed in agitation, running a hand down his face.

ย  ย  ย  Jordanna dismissed him, her eyes solely on the man who stood beside Damon, rocking on his heels, an idiotic smile was placed on his face. "Who's your friend?"

ย  ย  ย  "Nobody-"

ย  ย  ย  "Kai Parker," he held his hand out with a grin.

ย  ย  ย  Jordanna ignored the hand and narrowed her eyes at him, "Parker? As in-"

ย  ย ย  "You've heard of him, great. Amazing story, really, but we haven't got time," Damon butted in, turning to Kai.

ย  ย  ย  Jordanna rolled her eyes, "Did your mommy not tell you it's rude to talk over people, Damon?"

ย  ย ย  Damon squinted his eyes as he looked down at her sceptically, "Something's off about you. You're different."

ย  ย ย  She merely grinned.

ย  ย ย  "You didn't," he sighed in annoyance. Great, more emotionless vampires running around.

ย  ย ย  "I did," she nodded with a large smile.

ย  ย  ย  "I'm sorry, I'm lost," Kai butted in. "She did what?"

ย  ย  ย  "Flipped the switch, no more humanity," Damon mumbled to him. "Why the hell did you do that?"

ย  ย ย  "What's it got to do with you? First of all, you hate me," she started. "Second of all, it's literally none of your business."

ย  ย  ย  "If I didn't have more important things to do right now I'd break that neck of yours."

ย  ย ย  "Kinky ... and while that sounds fun, it really does, but I'm busy so bye-bye Damon," she turned to Kai with a curt nod. "Damon's friend."

ย  ย  ย  And as she walked off she heard the faintest voice whisper behind her, "I think I just fell in love."

ใƒปโฅใƒป

ย  ย  ย  Jordanna made her way outside, finding Caroline leant against a carโ€”the blonde waited for her friend with a smug look on her face which immediately brightened Jordanna's mood.

ย  ย  ย  "What are you up to?" Jordanna questioned the blonde as Caroline made her way over to her and they walked down the concrete path in unison, brushing passed the drunk Whitmore students.

ย  ย  ย  Caroline merely looked down at the phone in her hand before she smiled up at Jordanna, showing the device to her, "I warned them, but they didn't listen."

ย  ย  ย  Jordanna took a moment before she nodded in understanding, "Stefan got to you too, huh?"

ย  ย ย  "Hm, sure did," Caroline quipped as she typed away on the phone.

ย  ย ย  "So what are we gonna do about it?" Jordanna asked, her voice sickly sweet making the question itself seem harmless, but they both knew, everyone knew, that it wouldn't be harmless, not in the slightest.

ย  ย  ย  Caroline passed the phone off to Jordanna, the younger vampire tilted her head, looking at the name shown on the phone, which read 'Sarah Salvatore'. "Well would you look at that," Jordanna's lips curved into a sly smirk, she turned to Caroline who matched her grin.

ย  ย  ย  "It's time they started taking me seriously," Caroline told her, snatching the phone back before she began typing again.

ย  ย ย  "Agreed."

ใƒปโฅใƒป

ย  ย  ย  Jordanna stood behind the bar as Caroline dialled Stefan's numberโ€”the former slid a tequila shot across the bar of the Coffee House, Caroline collected it with a wink and put the phone on speaker.

ย  ย  ย  "What, you really think I want to hear from you right now?" Stefan's voice sounded out through Jordanna's ears.

ย  ย  ย  "Aw. Is someone having a bad night?" Caroline teased with a playful pout.

ย  ย ย  "What are you doing with Enzo's phone?" Stefan frowned.

ย  ย  ย  "She stole it," Jordanna scoffed before she downed her shot. "Duh. But is that really the question you wanna ask her right now, Stef? Maybe you should be asking why does Enzo have Sarah Salvatore's number in his phone?"

ย  ย  ย  "Or maybe, where is Sarah Salvatore?" Caroline taunted. "And ultimately, what the hell are you two going to do to her, Caroline?"

ย  ย  ย  Jordanna's head snapped up with a grin as she watched Sarah walk in. "Hello? Enzo?" Sarah asked hesitantly, looking around.

ย  ย  ย  "Over here, love," Caroline mocked his accent.

ย  ย  ย  Jordanna choked mid-way through downing another shot, "That was fucking awful. Please don't ever do that again."

ย  ย  ย  Caroline rolled her eyes and kicked the vampire playfully when Sarah's voice broke out again. "Oh. Um, actually, I'm looking for . . ."

ย  ย  ย  "Enzo, yeah we heard you," Jordanna grinned, pouring another shot. "Sadly, he's not here right now."

ย  ย  ย  "But we are," Caroline hummed from her place atop the counter.

ย  ย  ย  "Caroline, what the hell are you doing with Sarah?"

ย  ย  ย  "Finally!" Jordanna's smile widened as a sadistic look danced in her eyes. "A good question, thank you for asking, Stef."

ย  ย  ย  "As a matter of fact . . . I'm going to kill her," Caroline finally answered before she abruptly hung up, she dropped the phone carelessly onto the bar surface whilst Jordanna pushed the filled shot glass towards Sarah, and rested her elbows on the countertop.

ย  ย  ย  "Shot? You might need it."

ใƒปโฅใƒป

ย  ย ย  "Hey! I'm making margaritas. You want one?" Caroline grinned as Stefan and Elena burst through the doors.

ย  ย  ย  "Me, please!" Jordanna grinned with an exaggerated groan as she held up her hand.

ย  ย  ย  "Where's Sarah?" Elena demanded, looking between the two.

ย  ย  ย  "So nosy," Jordanna tutted playfully, shaking her head. "Do you have any manners whatsoever. I mean, what happened to, please, Jordanna, if you could be ever so lovely and tell me where Sarah is I'd be eternally grateful." Jordanna mocked.

ย  ย  ย  "That would've sounded a lot better," Caroline nodded before she pursed her lips. "I see Stefan filled you in on his big secret."

ย  ย  ย  "Where is she, Caroline?" Stefan took a cautious step forward.

ย  ย  ย  "Not here, fuckface," Jordanna said as she passed two glasses off to Caroline. "That would be dumb."

ย  ย  ย  The blonde prepped the glasses with salt before answering his question, "She's with Liam. Say hi!"

ย  ย  ย  "Hello?" Liam's shaky, panicked voice spoke up.

ย  ย  ย  "Sarah is helping Liam with his surgical skills," Caroline informed them with a smile.

ย  ย  "I don't wanna do this!" Liam cried on the other end of the phone as Jordanna stood leaning against the bar, holding the phone in her hand as Caroline made the margaritas.

ย  ย  ย  "Obviously," Jordanna rolled her eyes. "But, like, that's the whole point of compulsion, Liam. You do as we say. We'll just ignore the fact that you'll most likely get expelled then found guilty for murder, but I'm sure you'll be fine. You never know, maybe orange is a good colour on you."

ย  ย  ย  "Oh, absolutely," Caroline nodded. "You'd look so hot in orange, Liam."

ย  ย  ย  "No, please! Please!" Sarah cried out.

ย  ย  ย  Stefan's eyes flickered from the phone and back to the two stood behind the bar, "Look, Caroline. I'm sorry, I shouldn't have pushed you."

ย  ย  ย  "Duh!" Jordanna exclaimed as she stabbed an olive with a stick harshly. "I think she was pretty clear about that."

ย  ย  ย  "I was," Caroline nodded.

ย  ย  ย  "Look. I know that you can't feel it right now, but if you kill Sarah, it's gonna haunt you forever," Elena turned to Jordanna pleadingly. "Both of you. Trust me. I did it, and it sucks."

ย  ย  ย  Caroline shared a look with Jordanna as she poured the margarita mix into the glasses whilst the latter popped the olive in her mouth.

ย  ย  ย  "Did she just-"

ย  ย  ย  Caroline scoffed, "She did. I compelled a student to perform surgery on Stefan's niece, and you found a way to make this about you? God, you truly have a gift, Elena."

ย  ย  ย  Jordanna nodded, as she sliced a lime, "You do. Maybe you could get an awardโ€”ooh! A gold medal maybe for being the most conceited person to walk the earth."

"Look at me, Caroline," Stefan pleaded, solely staring at the blondeโ€”he knew it was her idea, he knew that Jordanna was merely there for the funโ€”but if he got through to Caroline he could get through to Jordanna. "What do you want me to do? You want me to leave town, I'll leave town. I'll stay as far away from you as possible. Just please let her go."

"That's the problem, Stefan. It doesn't really matter how far away you are. You're still you . . . kind, loyal," Caroline said as she put little umbrellas in the margaritasโ€”whilst Jordanna rummaged around, looking for more salt. "Who with one look can convince me that I'm not crazy. That's the Stefan that I fell for, and that's the Stefan who can bring me back."

Klaus was like that too. Everyone around her made her feel like she was insane, but all she needed was one small glance from Klaus and the world was right againโ€”stop thinking about him!

"Killing Sarah isn't gonna change that." The Salvatore insisted as Jordanna pulled a container of salt out. Her head snapped up after she licked the line of salt from her hand, she took the shot before grabbing the lime.

Her eyes remained narrowed as she took the lime in her mouth before pulling it outโ€”"No, it won't change anything, but it's fun, Stef."

Caroline nodded in agreement, "Yeah, she gets it, it's fun. But don't worry, I know it won't change anything. That's why I'd rather just change you. Let go of that part of you, Stefan."

ย  ย  ย  "Caroline, what are you talking about?" Elena's face scrunched up in confusion, eyes flickering between the two emotionless vampires who shared an amused look.

ย  ย  ย  "Take a guess, Elena," Jordanna snapped in irritation. "It's not that hard if you use your brain, but then again, I forget," she paused. "You don't have one."

ย  ย  ย  "Jordannaโ€”stop, this isn't time for you to be joking around. Sarah's life is on the line-"

ย  ย  ย  "You think I don't know that?" Jordanna scoffed. "We put her damn life on the line, Elena. But, Stefan," her lips curved up as she pointed in the direction of the Salvatore vampire. "Stefan, can save her. All he needs to do is flip that switch, get rid of that side of him that everybody loves and little Sarah Salvatore lives to see another day. If not . . . well, I think you get the idea."

ย  ย  ย  "Why are you looking at her like that?" Caroline scoffed, brows creased together. "Does she need to repeat herself, or what?"

ย  ย  ย  "He is not turning his humanity off," Elena told them sternly, sending them both hard looks as she glanced between them.

ย  ย  ย  Caroline narrowed her eyes, setting the martini glasses down onto the bar surface, "Elena, Stefan unleashed himself from you months ago. He can think for himself now."

ย  ย  ย  "Yeah, Elena, unlike you he has a brain," Jordanna nodded in agreement. "I'm sure he can use that to think for himself. Don't you?"

ย  ย  ย  "It's not gonna happen, Caroline," Stefan told her with a certainty in his voice, like he was so sure that was what was going to happen. But he didn't know how far they were willing to take it.

ย  ย  ย  Jordanna raised the phone to her face with a taunting wiggle. "You sure about that, Stef?" She brought the phone to her mouth a sly, vindictive smirk pulled at her lips as she spoke. "Hey, Liam, sweetheart?"

ย  ย  ย  "No! Please! No, no!" Sarah's voice cut through the tense air.

ย  ย  ย  "Cut out her spleen," Caroline ordered.

ย  ย  ย  "Caroline!"

ย  ย  ย  "Calm your tits," Jordanna scoffed before a smile pulled at her lips. "You're a med-student, 'Lena, you should know that she'll survive without a spleen. Even I know that."

ย  ย  ย  "Please don't hurt me! No! No! No!"

ย  ย  ย  "I am so sorry," Liam's shaky voice spoke.

ย  ย  ย  Stefan looked panicked before he rushed out, "Hey, Liam. Remember that conversation we had earlier about being honest? Where are you?"

ย  ย  ย ย  "Don't answer him or I'll cut out your spleen, Liam," Jordanna told the boy.

ย  ย  ย  "Whitmore Medical." The med-student answered after a moment.

ย  ย  ย  "Hey!" Caroline snapped.

"Traitor!" Jordanna scoffed.

ย  ย  ย  "Please don't hurt me! Ah!"

ย  ย  ย  "Go! Get Sarah out of there," Stefan turned to Elena in urgency, she sent him a quick, single nod and sped away.

ย  ย  ย  "Good luck getting there in time," Caroline retorted with a smile.

ย  ย  ย  "How's it going, Liam?"

ย  ย  ย  Jordanna listened to the shaky voice of Liam as he muttered an answer, but Sarah's screams sounded out in her ears, overtaking Liam's trembling tone.

ย  ย  ย  "You know what? I changed my mind. Leave the spleen," Caroline paused, turning to Jordanna with a large smile on her face, the Jones' lips tugged up in understanding. "Let's be a little more symbolic."

ย  ย  ย  "Please no!"

ย  ย  ย  "Take out her heart."

ย  ย  ย  Though as Sarah's terrified screams rippled through the room, she leant against the corner of the bar watching as a look of angerโ€”or perhaps desperation, crossed Stefan's face as he sped toward the blonde, throwing her across the roomโ€”her body crashing into a table.

ย  ย  ย ย  Jordanna whistled as she brought her margarita to her mouth, before she stabbed another olive with a small stick and plucking it between her lips.

ย  ย  ย  The phone, which Caroline had taken from the Jones vampire, slid across the floor. Stefan raced for the device though Caroline caught him quickly, tripping him with a broken table leg. As his stomach hit the ground the Salvatore reached forward to grab the phone before a pained grunt left his lips as she slammed the wood in his backโ€”reaching across him, she pulled the phone from his grasp.

ย  ย  ย  "Liam, you still with me?" Caroline asked as she rose to her feet. "You don't realize it, but this really does hurt me to watch," she released a sigh. "I'm pathetic," she turned back to the phone. "Liam, she stopped screaming . . ."

ย  ย  ย  "Oh dear, is she dead?" Jordanna's lips pulled down as she made her way around the bar.

ย  ย  ย  "I think she passed out."

ย  ย  ย  "Oh, that's . . . disappointing."

ย  ย  ย  Caroline sighed, "Kill her. Call me when it's done."

ย  ย  ย  Jordanna zoned out as Caroline ended the phone just before Stefan's phone rangโ€”Elena. But she never bothered to listen in. Her mind drifted off . . . to somewhere it shouldn't. She was thinking about Klaus, stop.

ย  ย  ย  She was snapped out of her little daydream as she heard Stefan utter the words, "Bring me back."

ย  ย  ย  A grin pulled at her lips as Caroline turned to face her with a smile.

ย  ย  ย  "What? Stefan, w-what do you mean? Bring you back from where?"

ย  ย  ย  "Just remember to bring me back."

ย  ย  ย  Jordanna stepped around the bar, a fascinated look in her eyes as she watched his own eyes flutter shut. A sharp intake left his mouth before his eyes shot open again.

ย  ย  ย  Jordanna pulled her head back from the neck her teeth were buried in, she swiped her tongue over her bottom lipโ€”cleaning it of the blood before she pressed her finger to the lips of the paling woman she held to the wall. "Sh, sh, sh," she muttered to the trembling woman under her hold, before she pulled her phone from her pocket.

ย  ย ย  A smile (involuntarily!) pulled at her lips as she read the name, answering it, she held the phone to her ear, "Hello lover."

ย  ย  ย  "Jordanna," Klaus released a sigh.

ย  ย  ย  "To what do I owe the pleasure?" She asked as her thumb roamed over the dripping blood on the skin of the woman she had pressed against the wall, she brought her thumb up to her lip and popped it in her mouthโ€”sucking the blood from it as she awaited for Klaus to speak.

ย  ย  ย  "Just making sure you're not dead."

ย  ย  ย  "How sweet," she muttered, tilting her head. "Anything else?"

ย  ย  ย  "Yes, actually," Klaus answered. To catch you off guard.

ย  ย  ย  And her head slammed against the wall in front of her, a groan left her lips as her phone slid from her grasp before black spots appeared in her eyeline.

ย  ย  ย  Her feet swept off the floor and suddenly she was held in a firm grip, opening her eyes as much as she could, she muttered one word upon seeing his face. "Asshole."

ย  ย  ย ย  And the world went black.
