Logan sat in the passengers seat of his own truck, "Did you taxi from the airport?"

"Yes." he said back, keeping his eyes on the road. If Logan didn't already know that this was not his father, this would have given it away. The way he was driving, Ross never, ever, drove with two hands because his right would always cramp up, "What were you fighting about? A girl?"

Logan looked out the window, searching for any sight of the Lockes local car or even Gabes truck. But it seemed to be just them on the road, "No, he was being rude to my friend."

Logan had no control over his actions when he hit Gabe, but now, he had to admit how good it felt to hit the guy.

"Maybe you should stay away from that group for a while." Ross said, turning on the heater of the truck, "Don't want you getting in trouble again."

Logan being abnormally quite in the passengers seat took the demon by surprise. He never shyed away from putting his two sense in, always having at least a small remark to say. Glancing over, his eyes fell on Logan looking out the window, "What are you looking at?"

The boys face reddened slightly, blue eyes blinking, "They're planning on tearing down all these trees. I was just looking at them."

But god, was he a terrible liar. The overpass came into view, the edge of it where the opening started, glistening slightly. Logan gasped when the truck suddenly speed forward, swearving toward the cement wall, "What the hell are you doing!"

Logan leaned across the truck, yanking at the steering wheel as the car swerved slightly. The demon gave gave a sharp yank to the wheel, his fist, that was bigger in the identity of a grown man, hit the boy right in the face. Logan's head hit the window, a throbbing pain echoing in his skull. His vision blurred for a second, opening his eyes. Blood dripped from his noses, going to attacked the demon again before a sudden forced ran into the side of the truck.

Just six feet away from the wall, the truck spun from the force. It flipped when hitting the side wall, crashing down the small ditch and landing in the woods.

Harvest jumped out of Gabes truck, finding his keys but not him back at the school. It was bigger and stronger then her family's little car. Panic and agony washed over her face as she saw the wreck. She meant to hit the truck, have it swerve, not for it to flip, "Logan!"

She sprinted across the street, glass across it from the broken windows. She ran down the ditch, nearly falling but holding her balance. She made it to the wreck, running to the passengers side. Logan wasn't moving, his face bleeding. Harvest shook his shoulder as she bend down, "Logan! Oh my god, Logan! Please! Wake up!"

The demon was the least of her worries, which is why she missed it escaping. The redhead pulled the boys body out of the broken window, glass cuts scattered across his face. She shook him harshly, her vision blurred as she cried, "Please! Please! Stay with me!"

Sirens were heard, the wreck clearly getting the attention of others. Harvest sobbed as she leaned over him, holding his face. She could feel his pulse, "Logan, hey, come on, open your eyes. Please, open your eyes, come on, stay-"

Logan's eyes opened as his eyebrows knitted together in pain, "What the hell what that?"

Harvest laughed through her cries, gripping his head and hugging him tightly for a few moments, a form of relief she'd never felt before washing over her, "Are you okay? The ambulance is coming."

"Tried to kill me." Logan whimpered as he laid on the ground again, Harvest holding his shoulders.

"I didn't mean to, I swear. I just was trying to stop the car." the apologized, now that he was alive and she was relived, guilt set in.

"No." Logan said, taking a deep breath, "The thing that had me."

"What thing?" Harvest asked, because his text didn't mention anything about what was going on, just that he was gonna die if she didn't stop the car. And he was right, just six feet away from dying before she stopped it.

"The things that had my dads identity." Logan said, shutting his eyes as he huffed in pain, all of it channeled toward his right shoulder. Harvest's eyes widened when she realized what happened, someone had the Identity Key.

"Oh my god, is he okay?" Kinsey asked as she hurried into the hospital hallway, Scot with her.

"He's okay. Dislocated shoulder and a few stitches, but alive." Harvest exhaled, running a hand through her arm. Scot rubbed her back in comfort as she sighed loudly, "I could have killed him."

"You saved him." Kinsey shook her head, "I can't believe- Someone has the Identity Key, someone that knows his dad, knows him."

"Someone who didn't think it through, an act of rage maybe." Scot spoke up in agreement, "Did you see them?"

"No, by the time I got Logan out of the truck and made sure he was okay, no one else was there." Harvest shook her head quickly. It was clear every emotion was racing around her head, "How could- why would anyone go after Logan? Why not me? A Locke? I mean he's just-"

"He's okay. That's all that matters right now." Kinsey put a hand on her shoulder, "We're gonna figure out who has the key, I swear."

"Whoever it is, i'm gonna knock their goddamn teeth in." Harvest spoke in rage.

"Harvey!" Gabes voice rung down the hallway, walking toward her with a worried look, "Is Logan okay? I got here as soon as Kinsey called."

"I'm so sorry about your truck." she exclaimed quickly, "I'll pay for it, I swear. I just needed to get there immediately and that's all I saw and I was looking for you-"

"We'll get it fixed, it's okay." Gabe grabbed her shoulders with a small smile. He shrugged, "I'm just glad he's okay."

Harvest nodded, patting his arm, "I'm sorry, seriously."

"Don't worry about it." Gabe said, dropping his hands from her shoulders as she watched the nurse leave Logan's room, "They're not letting anyone in?"

"There not suppose to." Harvest said, passing him as she peaked into the room and sighing in relief when she didn't see any nurses, "Hey there, super-trooper."

Logan's head turned toward the door, giving her a grin, "Was wondering when you'd show up. A pack of cigarettes later?"

"Two packs." she corrected him with a grin, sitting down on the end of the bed, "I'm so sorry. For all of it."

"Wasn't your fault." Logan gave her a odd look, "I would be dead right now if you didn't crash into me, do you understand that?"

Harvest blinked at him, her eyes watering.

"Whoever that was, they were aiming half the truck, my half, toward the side of the overpass. Just a few more feet and i'd have been crushed, dead." Logan stared at her, his own eyes watered at not one, but two near death experiences he just had.

Harvest gave a sad smile, "Well, i'm glad you're not."

Logan laughed, whipping his eyes, "Stop, we look ridiculous."

"So ridiculous." Harvest grinned, crossing her legs on the bed, "If you did die, I would hate you."

"You'd hate me if I died?" Logan laughed at her.

"Yes, like, so much. Especially if you didn't come back to haunt me or something like that." Harvest gave him a stern look, "Vis versa, of course."

Logan grinned, "I'll keep that one in mind."

Harvest looked at his wrapped up arm, eyes flickering toward the trey next to his bedside, "I'm gonna eat your jello."

"All yours." he nodded, raising his good arm in defense, "I'll just sit over here, with a dislocated shoulder, letting you eat the only food they gave me."

"How kind of you." Harvest hummed, but passed him the spoon after taking her first bite.

Gabe stood outside of the door, huffing in disbelief because his plan clearly didn't work, it only seemed to bring them even closer.

take a second to realize
that both, harvest and logan,
had no friends before they
met each other. they were both
outcast that never had that
best friend bond with anyone
until each other. they literally
mean so much to each other,
which makes this chapter so
much more painful .
