━"𝐒𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐬, 𝐡𝐨𝐰 𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐬 𝐬𝐡𝐞 𝐠𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐞, 𝐦𝐲 𝐟𝐞𝐞𝐭 𝐡𝐮𝐫𝐭" Raina whispered as she and the others surrounded the trunk waiting for the Sun Summoner to grant them with her presence.

"It's only been 7 minutes Raina, calm down" Kaz's monotone voice spoke up beside her.

Raising her eyebrow at him as she stared at him pointedly, "Thought you weren't talking to me." Raina had come to a conclusion that Kaz was mad or annoyed by her ever since she told him off about staring at her, he's been brooding silently while disregarding Raina.

Scoffing under his breath, Kaz did not even bother to look at her as he muttered, "We have work to do right now, but I would be glad to ignore you some other time."

"Ouch, that must have stung" Jesper playfully whistled, nudging Inej on the shoulder who tried to hide her smile but couldn't help it.

A groan coming from inside the trunk caused them to snap back from the moment they were having just in time to see the lid slowly crack open, a disheveled Alina laying on her back with her knees propped up soon came to sight. Alina's eyes went straight to the gun placed in Jesper's holster, gazing at it as Jesper protectively placed his right on it, clearly taking an immediate dislike towards the proclaimed Sun Summoner.

Inej held up her hand as Alina's vision moved towards her as she gazed at Alina in disbelief. Rolling her eyes, Raina impatiently snapped her middle finger and thumb together, creating a sound that caught Alina's attention.

"Raina," Alina breathed out both in relief and shock.

Clicking her tongue on the roof of her mouth, Raina shook her head letting out a humorless chuckle, "I'm not here to sip tea and eat biscuits while chatting with you as if nothing's wrong. By the way, how's the General?"

Still in the uncomfortable position, in the trunk, Alina wildly shook her head, strands of her hair flying around. "I-I don't know what you mean."

"O-oh, you-you don't know," Raina mocked, pouting her lips while placing a hand on her chest to faux sympathy.

Am I being too harsh on her? Oh well, who cares.

Snorting loudly Jesper put out his hand for Raina to high-five as in a way to say, 'Good one'.

"Jesper," Kaz warned, raining one of his stupidly perfect eyebrows, Raina thought. No. Oh, yes. No. You know you like it. No-

Cautiously jumping out of the trunk, Alina took a step towards Raina in hoping to seek comfort but slightly jumped when a cane with a crow's head as its handle pushed its way through, distancing herself from Raina. Placing both her palms up in the air, Alina faced a man who was harshly glaring at her.

Kaz.

"Why did you run away? I mean, I'm not complaining as you made our jobs easier but still, why did you run away?" Raina taunted.

Eyes skimming the surroundings, Alina ignored Raina's question, her mind racing with thoughts on how to get away. Hesitantly taking a step away towards her right, away from the four people around her, Alina couldn't help but flinch when the sound of the cane crashing against the side of the trunk echoed loudly. Turning towards the man, she sighed under her breath as she found herself looking once again at the brooding man who opened his mouth to speak.

"Answer her."

Sucking in her breath, Alina looked towards Raina who couldn't help but snort at the blatant display of despair on the Sun Summoner's face.

"Baghra told me all about his plans to use me," Alina desperately shook her head as if not believing the General's intentions were true.

Raina squints her eyes in utter confusion, "Plans to use you? For what, you can barely control your powers."

"Raina," Inej reprimanded, shaking her head. "Be nice."

"Nice? This is being nice to her after everything she's done." Raina scoffed.

Gaze flitting back and forth between Raina and the girl who's casually playing with a dagger, Alina lets out a small smile.

"Okay enough of this, let Alina continue spilling" Jesper's exasperated voice drawled out.

Clearing her throat, Alina continued in one go, "The General is the Black Heretic who created the Fold."

Silence. An inevitable void dancing amongst them.

"Saints, you better be lying," Raina groaned, breaking the silence. Cooper let out a whimper, snuggling his head through the gap in Kaz's feet.

Rubbing her hands over her face, Alina dryly chucked, "I wish, otherwise I wouldn't have hidden in the trunk of someone's carriage and ended up in the middle of nowhere with you four surrounding me." Letting out a deep breath as she stopped her arms from flailing around, Alina focused on the people in front of her and registered their shocked faces.

"Well, now that we know how you feel, even though it was unasked for, do carry on with the story" Raina urged with an innocent smile causing the three crows beside her to let out a smile.
