And that is exactly what Raina felt when she was told about the life-changing news by Alekander.

"You are completely sure?" Raina asked for the 100th time. Aleksander rolled his eyes and sighed while answering "You do realize that by asking me, it wouldn't change the answer".

"I just can't believe it.." Raina's voice trailed off to a whisper as she stared on the other side of the wall in wonder.

Aleksander sighs as he takes small steps towards her and delicately cups her right cheek while letting his thumb run over Raina's cheekbone. He rests his forehead on hers and says in a mere whisper, "It's real".

 "The sun summoner is real", Aleksander concludes in a gentle tone.

After staying in the little palace for three years, Aleksander and Raina have gotten close. Both have their secrets yet they trust each other.

Raina stared into Aleksander's eye as his lips brushed against her cheek—and even though she has experienced it before, that light touch sent shivers through her nerves. He softly placed light kisses traveling down to the crook of her neck. As he stopped there, he whispered, "You have nothing to worry about, the sun summoner is real Rai".

She took a shaky breath as he lifted his head and once again let his forehead sit on hers. Aleksander sighed almost desperately, "Saints you're gorgeous", he mumbled.

Raina couldn't take it anymore, she had reached up and pulled him down to her, his lips crashing hers. 

He kissed her gently, carefully, but it wasn't gentleness she wanted, not now, not after so long.

 She knotted her fists in his kefta, pulling him harder against her. He groaned softly, low in his throat, and then his arms circled her, gathering her against him. 

His arms slowly moved down her hips until they reached the back of her thigh.

"General the sun summoner has-", a voice interrupted them. Both Aleksander and Raina jumped away from each other, heavily panting, lips still swollen, and eyes wide as they stared at the awkward and uncomfortable-looking Fedyor.

Fedyor cleared his throat before repeating his sentence, "General the sun summoner has reached the ground". 

Aleksander sighed deeply almost as if he couldn't believe that he and Raina got caught before replying in a more commanding voice, "Well, Raina will be accompanying her to my office and I want everyone who was present over there as well." He then nodded his head towards Raina indicating her to follow Fedyor to where the sun summoner is.

As soon as Fedyor and Raina left the tent, Raina swiftly stated, "Do not."

Fedyor complained, "I wasn't even-". 

Raina turned to him and raised her brow while firmly stating, "Do not tell anyone what you saw," Before Fedyor could open his mouth, she quickly added, "Especially not to Ivan".

"Well, you should be proud you are even getting any action" Fedyor teased as they were a couple of feet away from the sun summoner. Raina blushed and hit his arm before turning to the supposed sun summoner. 

Raina caught the sun summoner's eye and saw the visible shock present in them as they ran across Raina's features. It was no secret that Raina was known throughout the entire Ravka.

Raina quickly accessed the appearance of the girl who had visible dark circles present and sallow skin which meant that her body is not receiving all its nutrients and has not been fed properly. The sun summoner's outfit was quite dirty and wrinkly and Raina couldn't help but sympathize the girl.

Raina slowly extended her hand towards the girl as if to have a proper introduction but the girl was still staring at her so Raina waved her hand in front of the girl's face, the girl quickly snapping out of her trance and turning a light red as she stared at her shoes.

"Hello, my name's Raina". The girl murmured something back which Raina hadn't caught. "Pardon me?", Raina questioned as the girl gently raised her head and introduced herself,

"Alina Starkov".

Raina took a shaky breath when she heard that name again yet all she could think about is who she heard that name from. Maly.

"Is Maly okay"

"He's safe isn't he"

"What happened", Raina bombarded Alina with questions yet all Alina could do was stare back confused as to how a Grisha like Raina would know Mal and how she had given him a nickname.

Raina seeing as the girl wasn't going to answer, turned back to Fedyor and the other soldier who was holding Alina in a way as if she would run away any given moment.

"I will take it from here", Raina told them. 

When the soldier holding Alina was about to open his mouth, Raina cut him off by repeating in a stern tone, "I will take her from here". Both soldiers soon left, leaving Raina and Alina all alone.

Raina brought her hand resting it on Alina's forehead. "Wha-What are you doing?" Alina stuttered as she tried waving Raina's hand away. 

All Raina did was close her eyes and slowly concentrated on Alina's body and her own body.

Alina felt something tingling and saw a white and blue static and felt herself getting a bit stronger but what she didn't know was as she gained her energy back, Raina's energy was slowly depleting. 

Raina pulled back her hand as she tried to regain her balance due to the new headache being formed but shook it off. "You're okay aren't you", Raina questioned.

"Ah - I -- yes", stammered Alina as she was still in shock as to what had happened. 

Raina then started to walk ahead at a leisurely pace while Alina followed behind her. 

"You're Raina Hart aren't you?" Alina asked before she paused as if waiting for the Grisha to lash out at her but all Raina did was let out a humorous chuckle while replying back, "You and Maly are a lot similar".

"How-how do you know Mal?" Alina questioned...again. 

Raina hesitated before deciding to change the subject.

"Welcome to the tent that will decide your future..."
