this is another episode of watch poppy infodump about her newest hyperfixation for a few thousand words !!! i love the mha characters and ik people seemed to like when i rated atla/tlok milfs and hades characters and wanted to see me doing more so ! here we have me rating the characters from my hero (from 1-A to pro heroes to villains).

it'll be in a few parts but if you want to see me ramble for a while about stuff that makes me really really happy then this is for u !!!

- breaky bones

- i love him sm but i have to be harsh on the ratings bc i adore so many characters that it would just turn out all above tens

- so he gets a 6 bc even though i'd die for him and i want to give him a hug (he needs it pls), he's still not my favourite out of all of the characters <3

- his arc has been so good !!

- like it's easy to overlook how much his personality has grown but in the first dozen of episodes he was so nervous and jittery and had no idea what he was doing and now he's all self-confident and his classmates look up to him !!

- top of the class babey !!

- usually main characters are a lot more boring than he is so i'm glad that he's nuanced

- but still he's not my favourite so i get bored when multiple episodes focus solely on him and none of the others bc i want bakusquad and todoroki time (ღ˘⌣˘ღ)

- he's a crybaby, it reminds me of sailor moon hehe i love him (♡μ_μ)

- he does one thing and ends up in the hospital smh

- i love how his story started out as the message of "anyone can be a hero" so i hope it doesn't end up like some weird "the chosen one" narrative bc 😩 like yes he was chosen by all might to have this great power but he was just someone with a big heart and i love how it showed that anyone is capable of being heroic and strong 🤲🥺

- like his determination to save everyone but his conflict of not always knowing how to do that ???

- he's self-sacrificial and i adore that in characters

- idk, the way he's still trying to be friends with bakugou even despite how bakugou has treated him for like ten years ?? he's such a sweet character

- but also SO POWERFUL like him at the end of the season 4 overhaul arc 😳😳

- when he uses 100% of one for all and moves so fast he literally can't be seen and then also glows like he's super saiyan ⊂( ' ▽ ' )⊃

- watching him go from the season 1 bully, to just an angry mean asshole, to an asshole who clearly admires his friends (kirishima mostly) even if he doesn't show it very often, to asshole who actually cries to his rival about his feelings and frustrations of inferiority, to an asshole who lets his friends help him when he's in danger and doesn't yell at kiri when kiri literally tries to hold his hand in a crowd, to asshole who's still angry but doesn't shout at people anymore (season 4 and heroes rising), to asshole who FIGHTS ALONGSIDE MIDORIYA IN HEROES RISING AND ACCEPTS MIDORIYA'S HELP?????

- LIKE WTF

- the parallels from when he was a child and refused to take midoriya's hand because he wouldn't let anyone help him and assume he was weak, TO LITERALLY LEAPING TO TAKE KIRISHIMA'S HAND AND GRINNING WHILE LETTING HIS FRIENDS HELP HIM IS SO

- that scene is one of my favourites EVER IT's SO WELL EXECUTED

- me dying when he let his friends help him after 3 whole seasons of being the whole "NO ONE HELPS ME BC I'M NOT WEAK" bastard

- me and my sister LITERALLY screaming when he and midoriya worked together at the end of heroes rising, like actually squealing

- (to add to the above point, i'm not a bakudeku shipper at all i just love their friendship)

- and the scene where he cries to midoriya out of anger and frustration and guilt because it was bakugou believes it was "his own fault" that all might is gone, meanwhile midoriya is all might's successor, is just </3 the VOICE ACTING in that scene like how much his voice cracks and he's shouting but in tears like oh my god i love his character sm

- kacchan is the cutest nickname idc (￣ε￣＠) and the fact that everyone is catching on and calling him kacchan too, like when kaminari called him that and bakugou didn't snap at him??? king shit

- like ik he's an asshole but he's SUCH a good and fun and enjoyable character

- especially his interactions with todoroki and midoriya, like his rabid energy when he's arguing with them is top tier

- like i love his just total bastard energy, the bringer of chaos

- ready for his arc to continue next season and for him to keep being a nicer person

- (fic-related but eventually he and tsubame are gonna be besties and a totally unstoppable force)

— URARAKA OCHACO    6/10

- mha deserves more female characters

- like this is unrelated to chaco but why tf does 1-A have 20 students in it but only 6 girls?

- ochaco is an angel

- her floating when she gets nervous or embarrassed is the cutest thing

- i love how even though she's a sweetheart, she can get determined and scary af when she has her mind set to something

- like her tournament against bakugou in the sports festival??? girl was powerful and frightening as FUCK like she literally almost beat bakugou ?? BAKUGOU

- when she told her backstory about how she wants to be a hero so she can make money for her family i was so emotional 🥺🥺

- selfless girl

- also her interactions with yao-momo are so funny bc of the differences in their financial status

- when they were talking about the dorms and momo was like "this bedroom is the size of my closet at home 😕" and ochaco was like "IT'S LIKE A MANSION 🤩" (๑˃ᴗ˂)ﻭ i love them sm

- I FEEL BAD GIVING HER A 6 BC I LOVE HER SM, SAME WITH MIDORIYA, I JUST WANT TO MAKE IT AN ACCURATE SCALE BC EVEN THOUGH I ADORE HER SHE'S NOT MY FAVE IF THAT MAKES SENSE??? AND OTHERWISE EVERYONE ELSE WOULD BE LIKE 10s

- efficient king

- i didn't really like him that much at first but i've come to really enjoy him, like yeah he's a party pooper but it's sweet 😩

- he's literally 90% of class 1-A's impulse control

- wtf he so tall for

- HE'S FIFTEEN but he looks like 20 idk why 😭

- my sister calls him an average character which in my rankings he kind of is but i do really love iida like ??? yes he's strict and insistent on the rules but he just acts like that out of respect and also bc he wants the best for his classmates/friends

- if 1-A didn't have him they'd all be expelled or dead  ε=ε=┌( >_<)┘

- the thing i appreciate the most about MHA is that all the characters have their own arcs, backstories and episodes and i loved watching iida lose all his control to chase down the HERO KILLER (dude was insane for hunting down someone with that title) because stain had injured his brother

- like usually he's the one reining in the class but then todoroki and midoriya had to pull him back and save him and idk i just loved seeing that side of him

- i love how mha treats its side characters as important

- he is 100% autistic like idc it's canon to me 😁😁

- every time he does his hand movements i see it as stimming and it makes me so happy ('꒳')♡

- idk, i really like him!! but he's less nuanced to me and i'm not as attached to him as i am the rest of the characters, which is why he's only a 5  (っ˘̩╭╮˘̩)っ

- give me a character with daddy issues, a lot of undealt trauma, fire powers, and a burn scar from a parental figure on their face and you've got me someone i'd die for

- i loved seeing him overcome the trauma from his dad, and learn that he can use his fire without it relating him to his father

- i like how even though he's still aloof and doesn't like to show emotions, he's coming around with it??

- like him at the end of season 4 when his dad was fighting that nomu thing was the most emotion i've ever seen him show (that wasn't just anger)

- holy shit i love that scene: his reaction and his visibly conflicted emotions while watching his abusive father fight for his life against this immensely powerful villain

- ^^^ the emotions that can be seen through just his face and breathing. confliction and fear and worry and wanting his father to be okay but also wanting him not to be, just that sense of not knowing what he's supposed to be feeling. and then when he sinks to his knees and clasps his hands together after his father wins, that relief but also old resurfaced trauma and pain and the look that maybe he does want to forgive his dad but also the confliction in that he knows he can't

- he was so vulnerable in that moment

- except when he's not, bc he's okay with crying and showing vulnerable emotions !!!!

- matches other characters' energies (goofy with bakusquad, more serious and willing to fight enemies with bakugou, etc) in order to make them feel comfortable, while still being true to himself. it's a small detail but it's really cute

- he's understanding to all his friends too? like particularly bakugou, who's notoriously hard to get along with

- like, the best friend anyone could have

- SO MUCH EMPATHY

- always talking about being manly but has said explicitly that the state of being "manly" has nothing to do with gender but rather with your attitude

- gets along with literally EVERYONE

- ik he's 1-A's big brother

- is the one person who managed to break down bakugou's walls and bakugou clearly considers him his (best) friend

- BAKUGOU LITERALLY ACCEPTED HELP FROM KIRISHIMA LIKE ?? THAT BOY ACCEPTS HELP FROM NO ONE

- kirishima has insecurities as well: like that his quirk is "plain" and that he's not good enough, he compares himself to others a lot and thinks down of himself :(

- he's always there for his friends and gets in so much danger for them like wtf

- he always cries when other people cry

- he admires his friends and strives to be like them (particularly mina and bakugou)

- despite it all, he still SMILES

- cool and manly

- because he's close combat and the muscle of any fighting team, he'll put himself in harms way as a shield and is willing to get hurt for that

- ^^ like when he dove in front of fat gum, or when he let shoto use him as a shield against chimera in heroes rising (both times had him pass out super injured, poor kiri (。╯︵╰。))

- tends to be the voice of reason (he's all of bakugou's impulse control) but will also throw literally everything aside to rescue his friends, and has

- (when kirishima was like to midoriya "you can still reach for my hand!" when talking about them going to rescue bakugou, when both of midoriya's arms were broken and he was in a body cast LMAO)

- IK I'M TALKING LOADS ABOUT HIS FRIENDSHIP WITH BAKUGOU BUT CONSIDERING BAKUGOU'S THING IS HE "HATES EVERYONE" I JUST CAN'T GET OVER THEIR FRIENDSHIP!! i know kaminari is always tagging along with bakugou and kiri too but like kirishima has just been so persistent in being bakugou's friend despite bakugou being a bastard, i love them

- can i talk for a moment abt the bakusquad (bakugou, mina, kirishima, kaminari, and sero) and how they're shown to be such good friends and are always together UGH i love them SO MUCH

- the bakusquad is really failing class together too, i adore them <3

- the way that bakugou is in the top 3 of grades in the class (out of 20) while mina, kiri, sero and kaminari are literally the bottom 4, like i just love their dynamic so much

- (remember that lack of academic smarts doesn't mean lack of street smarts, like the bakusquad are still intelligent and capable and really knowledgeable about certain stuff, they just can't do school which like same ☆⌒(> _ <))

- he's really strong !! we saw him hold his own for ages with the main villain, nine, in the heroes rising movie, like he only got taken out bc he got a rock to the head and was physically knocked unconcious along with ochaco
