IT HAD BEEN a few weeks since George first gained back his memory of Camilla and her bookshop located in Camden town. And since then, he couldn't help himself from returning.

Multiple times.

His visits usually consisted of them talking for a while, him leaning against the counter and following her around while she worked. Her dusting shelves while he handed her books, each of them rambling on about whatever occupied their thoughts during that moment in time.

When the occasional customer came in, he would busy himself by studying the shelves around him, an attempt to cover his face and keep his identity hidden from both the customer and Camilla. This lead to him memorising every book and decoration's location throughout the shop. He truly thought he knew the store layout better than Camilla herself, which was doubtful, but Camilla indulged him anyway.

They mostly spoke about anything they felt like, the occasional important topics coming up, but it mostly being Camilla ranting to him about her daily life, and him listening, making the occasional comment which lead her into yet another rant. He would also throw in questions like book recommendations, or how she got into reading in the first place.

He didn't feel the need to tell her that he absolutely despised reading, as he enjoyed hearing her ramble on about her favourite books and characters and authors. She also spoke about something called a trope, which he didn't quite understand, but he always nodded along anyway.

He liked hearing her chatter on about the comfort of re-reading pride and prejudice, which he discovered to be her favourite book, during a rainy autumn evening while blasting her favourite music in her ears. He liked the way her face lit up when he picked up a book that she liked, how she then gave him an in depth explanation on every character and detail.

He found comfort in her own, relishing in the absence of his usual solitude.

He found this to be an unusual sensation. Wanting to make space in his week just to see someone he just met an unknown feeling. He thought it to be the excitement of a new found friendship, of course.

Who wouldn't?

He enjoyed going back home and messaging Arthur asking him about books he liked, hoping he responded with one Camilla had previously mentioned to him.

This led Arthur to grow suspicious, of course, as he had never once heard his friend talk about any form of literature at all up until recently. He decided not to question it, though.

George and Camilla had grown surprisingly close during this short period of time, each of them growing more comfortable with each other after every visit. They both found themselves sharing things they didn't with other people, it coming naturally in eachothers presence. They each enjoyed having someone to talk to without the worries of being judged.

There was something about the little bookshop they resided in, something welcoming. Something comforting.

George felt at ease here. Feeling like he could truly be himself without the watchful eyes of his new found fans, or his friends' constant bantering. It was calming, reassuring if you will.

They both had their own respective friends, of course, but nothing could compare to the privacy of their new found friendship. No one else in their lives knowing about the other's existence. Them each being eachothers little secret, all to themselves.

Until they weren't, of course.
