MENTIONS OF DEATH. PLEASE READ AT YOUR OWN RISK. ITALICS MEANS FLASHBACK.

YOU SAT AT THE TABLE GLANCING AROUND AS THE ELDER PEOPLE WERE WALTZING around the room with their canes and walkers. Legs crossed over one enough side-eyeing the older men who would whistle seeing the slight exposure of your skin in the skirt you wore. When you saw the elder man waltz in and his eyes landed on you, his lips curled into a smirk. The same smirk you've seen countless times within the past couple of months. She was the splitting image of him. You stood up respectfully to bow as he grew closer to you.

Jin Choi, the father of Jules Choi stood in front of you croaking away in a retirement home. How he got there, that's why you were here to figure it out

This plan of yours better work Choso, you thought to yourself

.
You let out a happy sigh as you closed your laptop after submitting an assignment. Sitting in the small cafe with Choso and his younger brother Yuji on a Friday night trying to catch up on the countless assignments you had. When you were able to close all the tabs on your laptop, the relief of being able to say you submitted all your assignments. You leaned forward, breaking a piece of Yuji's chocolate chip cookie to eat.

"Hey!" Yuji exclaimed as he leaned forward to give you a glare.

"I'll buy you more, I promise," You said as you pinched at his cheeks causing him to laugh and move your hand away.

"Are you done with your work because I have a movie night with Geto to attend in about an hour," You said as you checked the time on your phone.

"I was actually done, thirty minutes ago." Choso pointed out.

"Well, then we're done here. Let me go buy Yuji some cookies to go," You went to stand up but Choso stopped you.

"Wait, I need to show you something," Choso says as you plopped back down in the cushioned seat.

"What?" You questioned.

He turned his laptop over to show you a website. Your eyes scanned over the website in confusion. "Are you putting your grandfather in a retirement home?" You whispered so Yuji wouldn't hear you.

"What? No [Y/N]," Choso says. "Listen, I was snooping around Jules one day when I was discussing my contract with CAMPOP. When she went to use the bathroom, I was being nosey and found payment statements from this place."

"And?"

"I think her father is in this place," Choso says.

"But I thought he was sick. It would be understandable to put him in some high-class retirement home if you were running a company," You shrugged. "And I thought we were dropping this to take Jules down plan since Geto is going to prove she did something to Ayaki."

"No because what if he can't prove it," Choso says looking at you. "But back to what I was saying, I don't think her father is actually sick. While I was being nosey, I went through her emails and saw this." He showed you his phone of the pictures of the emails of communication between Jules and the owner of the retirement home. The two of them are talking about falsifying things to be sure for her father to stay in the retirement home.

"Wow," was the only thing that escaped your lips before you looked at Choso. "So what's next?"

You stared at Choso who had some wicked grin on your face that made you nervous. "What the hell did you get me into?"

"Well, one of the workers there is a close friend of mine...well a fan of my work is a front desk attendant there. She said she can get you in to talk to the old man," Choso says, giving you some cheeky grin.

"And why can't you do it?" You questioned.

"Because he's not going to listen to some guy, but a pretty woman like you [Y/N]..will have him talking. All we need to know is if Jules is running the company in about a month." Choso says. "Plus, I'm taking this little guy somewhere," he ruffled up Yuji's pink-colored hair while the little boy was coloring.

You would only nod as you didn't want to argue against what he said. You knew Choso took looking after Yuji as something extremely important, so you didn't mind sweet talking with an older man to get information out of them. "So we're not only trying to get her ass sent to prison but take the company away from her also?" You questioned.

"Basically," Choso says.

"[Y/N], you said a bad word. That's a yen bill in the swear jar," Yuji said as he looked at you with such seriousness. Cookie crumbs on his face as he waited for you.

"What happened to coins being in the swear jar, jeez." You said as you dug through your wallet to give the five-year-old a yen bill. "Let me get you some more cookies, I'll be back." You pushed yourself from your seat as you walked towards the counter. You stood behind some guy and his son.

As you stared at the dark-haired little boy, you noticed he looked similar to Toji's son. As the boy was clinging on his father's pants, he was glancing around the cafe and once he landed on the table Choso and yourself were sitting at his little face lit up. "ITADORI!" He squealed letting go of his father's pants leg and running towards the table.

"Megumi!" Toji said as he tried to grasp at his son's hand but he was already at the table with Choso and Yuji.

When he turned around and saw you, you saw his eyes soften. Instantly you wanted to leave, you haven't seen Toji since the last time you talked to him. Choso would tell you that he's doing fine. "Hey, Toji..." Your voice trailed off as you stared at him.

The two of you stepped out of line so you wouldn't be holding up the line. It seemed like Toji was searching for words to say, so he eventually cleared his throat to speak. "[Y/N], how have you been?" He questioned.

"Okay, just school and streaming. The usual," You answered truthfully.

"I see," was the only thing Toji said out his mouth. "You've been doing streams with that guy," he pointed out, causing you to raise your eyebrows at him.

"Yeah," You awkwardly said before Toji once again spoke.

"Well, I'm glad you finally admitted to liking the guy."

"Excuse me?" You questioned.

"Come on [Y/N], I saw the way he looked at you when we bumped into him at dinner. You gave him the same look," Toji pointed out. "So, I'm happy that you're happy." He admitted looking at you. You could even see a sly smile on his face.

"Anyway, I should really get home. Promised the little guy over there I would get him a snack for his good behavior today," He motioned to Megumi who was talking to Yuji.

You couldn't help but smile as he would order himself a coffee and cookie for Megumi. When the worker gave him what he wanted, he would give him a smile. "It was nice seeing you." He said as he looked at you before Megumi ran back over to him. The dark-haired kid had Yuji's other half of his chocolate chip cookie as he grabbed his father's pants leg.

You watched as Toji left the cafe with his son, you genuinely felt happy for him. The smile on his face made you happy. You were happy that he was happy and you were sure he felt the same way.

Once you ordered Yuji's cookies, you walked back to the table placing the bag of cookies on the table. She sat down before sighing. "So, if we find out she isn't running the company...then what?" You asked.

"We find out who is," Choso answered

Your eyes stared at the elderly man as he took a seat at the table. It seemed like he was drinking in your looks, leaning on the table with a smirk. "You work for my company," he pointed out.

Perfectly arched eyebrows raising in curiosity, you leaned forward also. "Your company? How is it your company if you're growing old here?"

Jin chuckled as he looked at you. He watched as one of the workers placed bottles of water on the table for them. You noticed that Jin's eyes looked at her butt as she was walking away to do her job. You rolled your eyes shifting into your seat uncomfortably.

"I will never leave what I built to my daughter. I would rather burn the company down myself," He answered. "She's just like her mom." He explained. "Reckless and only thinks about herself."

"So, how the hell did you get in here. You look perfectly fine." You responded.

"I said she was reckless, not dumb," Jin replied. "She's smart to falsify documents deeming me incapable to be by myself," Jin says as he looked at you.

"When you say she's just like her mom. What do you mean?" You questioned, you leaned back into your seat. Which caused a little bit of your black bra to show due to you unbuttoning a couple of buttons in the blouse you wore.

Jin smirked, his eyes darting from you to your pretty bra. "She always said pretty women would be my downfall, her mother said the same thing," Jin responded. "You would think I would've been so irrational. Sleeping with other women, staying out late," Jin's voice trailed off. "But I was a good husband. Her mother turned her against me and when the divorce was brought up, that's when shit hit the fan."

Jin had sipped at his water before continuing, "That's when the lies about me having an affair with cam girls in the company started swirling around in Jules' mind. Her mother being her puppeteer only made the girl dislike me even more and what I do."

"That would explain her dislike for cam workers." You chirped in.

"Only women."

"Huh?"

"She only hates the women cam workers," Jin corrected. "She hates them because of some lie her mother told her just to hate me."

Your lips formed a straight line as you were listening to him. His arms crossed over his chest. "Even after her mother passed away when she was thirteen I tried to explain to her that it was a lie. I would never jeopardize my company like that. But I've lost her. But instead of just going to fuckin' therapy or something, I only buried myself more and more into CAMPOP because she hated me so much."

"But I just don't understand her, why run a company that you think is the reason your family broke apart?" You asked.

Jin shrugged his shoulders before he then thought about it. He's letting out a laugh so hard, other older people are glancing in your direction. "To self-sabotage it. I keep up with the news in here and I know about that woman's death."

You looked at him, it was as if he was hiding something. He fiddled with his thumbs before sighing. "Before I tell you this, you have to promise me one thing," Jin says as he looked at you.

It seemed like you were always twirled into more chaos than your life could handle, but you couldn't untwirl yourself out of it now. You were already tangled so deeply into the toxic web with so many people. Afraid that if you cut yourself out of it, it would break.

"And that this is?" You asked.

"To stay at the Number 1 ranking for a month BVBYGRL007," Jin says giving you some smirk.

You leaned back into your sheet in complete shock. You didn't even tell him who you were, but here he was knowing who you were as you were talking to him. You tugged your braids out your face before speaking once again, "You knew it was me the whole time?"

"Of course, you actually think I'll let Jules confirm who puts content on my website by herself," Jin snickers. "As I was saying, Jules came to visit me one morning frantic as ever. She's pacing around the room like a mad woman, she's doing so much shit. And she breaks down in front of me. I haven't seen my daughter cry in years, but there she was crying and mumbling about how she screwed out and in deep shit."

She must have been talking about Ayaki.

"And I saw the hatred for me lighten up in her eyes when I told her that I can't help her. That she has to fix her own shit." Jin carelessly shrugged.

He knew that Ayaki was dead and just was in here letting his life wash away. Letting his daughter about to bring his company down due to her possibly being in connection with a murder.

"Visitors, visitation will be ending soon. Please pack your belongings, say your farewells, and make your way to the exit to sign out."

"But why should I stay at the number 1 ranking? Can't you just go to the police and tell them what you just told me? That practically confirms she was involved in Ayaki's death." You asked as Jin was standing up with you. "You'll have your company back in no time."

You felt frustrated and angry that he was using some deal as a pawn to tell her what Jules did. He had the whole power to take his daughter down, but he was choosing not to. In some ways perhaps he was just like his daughter and just didn't see it.

He looked at you with so much seriousness in his eyes. "Yes, Jules is smart. I'll give her that, but she can't outwit me." He motions to himself. "I call the cops and then what? It's medical documents deeming me as practically fucking unable to think for myself." He threw his hands up in frustration as a nurse was walking over to him to lead him back into his room.

"But you never answered my question." You said stepping forward. "Why should I be at the number 1 ranking at the end of the Month?"

Jin would stop and look at you.

"Because I'm stepping down officially to retire. Once again, Jules may be smart. But she never actually read my official retirement statement. The one she has is the fake one that I gave to the company's lawyer knowing that he's practically Jules lap dog." Jin explained as he was being tugged away.

"Wait." You exclaimed stepping forward near the door that was connecting to the back part of the retirement home.

"The person who's Number 1 when my official retirement statement is released at the end of the month by my legit lawyer will be the true heir of my company." Jin bluntly admitted as he disappeared behind the door.

You could feel knots form in your stomach as you tugged out your phone and opened the CAMPOP website and there you were at the Number 1 ranking. You then checked your calendar on your phone.

3 weeks.

You had three weeks to stay at the top ranking, a position that both you and Geto were tossing back and forth like a hot potato. But did you want to tell Geto about the thrilling power that either one of you could have in three weeks?
