so pretty much damon and elena had their first daughter, stella, and then split when she was like 2. katherine had come into town at that point and her and damon (yeah), conceiving kamryn. katherine died, stefan survived the hellfire. kamryn was born shortly before that all (a month or so), katherine had given birth IN HELL, LITERALLY and put back on earth right in smack dab at the border of mystic falls, protected from all the hellfire.

elena woke up, damon found kamryn and the two pretty much just took her in and raised her. damon had explained the whole katherine is your mother thing here and there in bits and pieces, and kept a box of things from katherine's stuff in her apartment in New York in the attic for kamryn when she was older.

kamryn attends the sbs, and often reads about katherine. she also is a type of species that can see the past or future, along with being a heretic. she is also, unfortunately, the anchor.
