Season 1 Episode 1
Pilot

Lizzie was sitting in the stands of her high school gym as she watched the basketball game.

She watched as Nathan Scott scored another shot, she cheered as the Ravens were winning at the moment.

Whitey had called a timeout and put Nathan on the side. Lizzie didn't understand why Whitey would put Nathan out, he was the best basketball player out of the ravens.

Once the game resumed without Nathan, the other team started scoring and were close to beating the Ravens. Luckily, Whitey came to his senses and put Nathan back in the game.

There were only 10 seconds left of the game, Nathan had the ball in his hands as he prepared to make the winning shot.

Lizzie was on the edge of her seat as the room became quiet, waiting to see if he would score. Sure enough, Nathan scored the winning shot and the whole gym erupted into cheers.

Lizzie jumped up from her seat, clapping as hard as she could while the cheerleaders cheered and the Ravens all huddled together, celebrating the win.

Lizzie was currently sitting in the passenger seat of Peyton's car as her blonde friend drove down the deserted road.ย

"So how are you and Nathan doing?" Lizzie asked,

"I don't know. I mean, it's always just been about sex and making out. There's... no romance." Peyton admitted.

Lizzie slightly chuckled, "Since when are you one for romance?"

Peyton scoffed as she turned on the stereo, "I'm not, it's just nice to feel wanted and appreciated sometimes."

It became silent between the two friends, neither knowing what to say next.

Peyton turned her body towards the backseat of the car, fiddling around to find a CD.

Lizzie was looking at the stars in the sky, she loved the night sky. It was always so peaceful and calming, it often gave her time to think.

Lizzie gasped loudly when her body lunged forward from the sudden brakes. The brunette looked up from the ground to see a blonde guy their age in a grey hoodie with a basketball in his hands.

The said guy slowly looked up from the ground and began to stare at Peyton before she annoyedly gestured for him to move out of the way.

Lizzie was still slightly catching her breath from the scare, "Who was that?"

"I think it was Nathan's brother."

Whenever Lizzie had a free period, she would always spend it in the tutor centre. Whether she was tutoring a student or reading a book, it was her favorite place in the school.

She was currently picking up the study folders for all the tutors in hopes of organizing them. She began walking over to a nearby desk when she collided into someone, sending the folders onto the floor.

"Oh my god, I am so sorry!" A female voice apologized, as they both knelt down to pick up the fallen papers.

"No, don't apologize. It was my fault, I wasn't watching where I was going." Lizzie insisted as she gathered most of the papers into her hands.

Both women stood up after cleaning the mess they had accidentally created, "You're Haley, right?" Lizzie asked.

"Yeah. Haley James." Haley confirmed, with a warm smile,

"I'm Lizzie. Lizzie Davis." The said girl introduced herself, holding her hand out.

"It's nice to meet you, Lizzie Davis." Haley chuckled, shaking the brunettes hand,

"Likewise, Haley James."

Nathan, Peyton and Lizzie were all sitting together in the library studying, (well at least Lizzie was) when Whitey came in.

"Scott!" The coach called out,

Both Scott brothers looked up.

"What's up, Coach?" Nathan asked,

Whitey looked to the brunette Scott, "Not you. You." Whitey said, pointing over to Lucas.

Lucas looked surprised that Whitey wanted to talk to him. He had no idea what it could be about, but he obliged and got out of his seat and walked over to the coach.

Whitey looked back at Nathan, "You. Read a book or something."

Lizzie dug through her bag, looking for the spare book she always kept, in case she got bored.

Once she found it, she slid the thick novel over to Nathan,

Nathan picked the book up, read the title and looked back at Lizzie, "The Great Gatsby?"

Lizzie hummed, "It's a great book."

"What's it about?" Nathan asked the brunette,

"It's about a millionaire who develops an obsession of pursuing his former lover, Daisy." Lizzie explained.

Nathan slowly looked back at the cover of the book, "Thanks, I guess. I'll give it a read."

Lizzie nodded and went back to her maths homework,

Nathan watched her as she wrote down answers and he didn't know why, but he was intrigued by her.

Of course, Lizzie didn't notice this.

But Peyton did.

Brooke and Lizzie were currently getting ready to head over to the river court to watch Lucas and Nathan play against each other through a game of basketball.

"No, Brooke. Stop it." Lizzie whined, as her sister tried to do her makeup,

"Come on, please. Just a little bit of eyeshadow." Brooke pleaded, walking after her sister with a makeup brush in hand.

Brooke had always been the girlier one out of the two sisters, but it didn't stop her from trying to make Lizzie girly too.

After a couple minutes of Brooke chasing Lizzie around their bedroom, Lizzie finally caved.

"Ugh, fine. But only a little bit." Lizzie said,

"Yay!" Brooke cheered, pushing her sister into a chair in front of the vanity table.

"So why are we going to the river court exactly?" Brooke asked, starting a new conversation,

"All I know is what Peyton told me." Lizzie stated.

"Okay and what did P. Sawyer say?" Brooke inquired,

"She told me that Nathan challenged Lucas to a basketball match and whoever wins, plays for the ravens." Lizzie explained.

"Wait so if Lucas wins, that means that..." Brooke trailed off,

"Nathan won't play for the ravens anymore." Lizzie confirmed.

It became quiet between the two sisters for a minute,

"All done, ta da!" Brooke squealed, turning the chair around so Lizzie was facing the mirror.

Lizzie looked at herself in the mirror, seeing that Brooke had given her a light pink look with a little bit of glitter in the corner of her eye.

"Wow, this looks really good Brooke." Lizzie admitted,

"Ohh, I knew you'd love it. Let's do some lip gloss now." Brooke cheered.

"No! Brooke, stop chasing me."

Half of the school had showed up at the river court to watch Nathan and Lucas play against each other. Lizzie was surprised at the outcome of the crowd although Nathan had always been quite popular.

Peyton hurriedly walked over to the brunette sisters, "Oh thank god you two are here. I've been drowning in testosterone with Nathan and Tim."

"When is this thing starting again?" Brooke asked, already bored out of her mind,

"Looks like it's about to." Lizzie said, seeing Nathan walk on to the court.

Lucas went to make a shot but missed, Nathan caught the basketball with a smug look.

Nathan threw the ball feebly making it nowhere near the hoop, but he quickly ran over to the ball and made a dunk.

Lizzie saw Haley standing by herself, so she quietly excused herself from Brooke and Peyton and walked over to her.

"Hey." Lizzie greeted,

Haley slightly jumped from hearing Lizzie's voice, although relaxed when she saw her.

"Oh, hey." Haley said nervously, biting her nails.

"Are you okay?"

"Hm? Oh yeah I'm fine, I'm just worried about Lucas." Haley said, intently watching the game.

"He seems like a pretty good player." Lizzie observed, as she watched Lucas score another basket.

The two continued to talk until both girls gasped as they saw Nathan elbow Lucas in the nose,

Lucas walked over to the side of the court, spitting blood out of his mouth.

"That's a foul!" Lizzie shouted,

Lucas walked back over to Nathan taking the ball, "No foul, basket counts. Besides you won't score again."

They start up again, Nathan about to score, which would confirm the win when Lucas miraculously blocked his shot.

The crowd erupted into cheers from the amazing block, Lizzie and Haley both cheered with large smiles on their faces.

Lucas scored two more baskets, making it a tie between the two brothers.

Nathan, clearly pissed off, stomped over to Lucas and shoved the basketball into his hands.

"He's never mentioned you man, not once in all these years." Nathan sneered, trying to psych him out.

Lucas didn't seem fazed as he just calmly responded, "This is for my mom."

Lucas dribbled the hall as he went closer to the hoop, with Nathan unsuccessfully blocking him. He went to make the shot.

The crowd began to fill with anticipation as they waited to see if Lucas would make the shot,

After a couple seconds, the basket made it into the hoop with ease.

The crowd broke out into the loudest cheers of the night, half the people crowding around Lucas patting him on the back and congratulating him, Lizzie among them.

Although, this was just the beginning.
