"She's right you know."

I sighed as I looked up at my ceiling.

"Her being right doesn't matter."

Faze scoffed. "Well it should." He then sighed. "You both owe her much."

"You think I don't know that?"

"You really have a fucked up way of showing it." Ryder's irritation seemed to seep through. "You literally end up making her leave the pack twice and the state."

"I know. It's just hard to keep a proper relationship with her."

"Well you better figure it out." Ryder scratched his ear nonchalantly. "Because it's starting to becoming annoying knowing your little brother spends more time with our mate than you."

"You still want her as your mate?"

Faze yawned. "We've never stopped... it was you who did."

My thoughts felt heavy as the weight of my actions soaked in.

Kiara:

"Does it hurt?"

Kadin shook his head as he held his right rib. "No it's fine." Even so I could still see a grimace in his face when he bandaged his wound.

"Sorry, I was a bit rough."

"It's fine."

I nodded as we both sat away from each other in an uncomfortable silence.

"Are you going back home?"

I looked at Kadin and shook my head. "Not yet. Still a few things I have to do. How about you?"

He shook his head. "I'm not in a rush to go back. Besides there's nothing waiting for me back there." He then gives me a look. "And from the looks of it you could use a bit of support."

"So you are just gonna tag along until I go back home?"

He nodded as he turned away from me and looked towards the water. "That's the plan."

"Okay then." I said as I continued to watch the scratches on my legs heal quickly.

"Kiara."

"Huh?" I turned towards him seeing his gaze still on the water.

"It's hard trying to be a friend when we are mates."

I furrowed my brows at him. "You were the one who-

"It's my fault for that. I try and end up blurring the lines." He then sighed. "So for now on we'll do thing your way."

I looked at him confused. "What do you mean?"

"I mean- He gave me a smile. "You have full control on how things work."

I thought for a moment. "Okay. We'll do it like that then."

"Also- He started.

"Hm?"

"I'm sorry." He saw the confusion on my face and elaborated. "For that earlier."

I felt awkward while touching the new mate mark that imprinted itself onto my neck because I knew what he was implying. "It's fine."

He saw my face and laughed. Shaking his head he stood up. "Let's go get something to eat."

I raised a brow as he helped me up. "Thought we was doing things my way?"

He rolled his eyes but still his hold on my hand didn't lessen."Fine what do you want to eat?"

Just then a small rabbit ran through the bushes. A small smile spread on my face.

"Rabbit?"

He nodded as he prepared to shift. "You can shift or do I have to carry you on my back?"

I scoffed. Clearly offended by his notion. "I don't need to be carried."

As I said so Kadin had just finished shifting into Rydon and honestly? Looking at Rydon gave me a bit of nostalgia.

"Rydon?"

Rydon peeked open an eye as he looked at the young 6 year old Kiara. "Yes Kiara?"

"Do you think I'll have a wolf?"

Rydon sighed annoyed. She's always been asking about a wolf ever since Kadin and Coby shifted early.

"Yes. You'll have a wolf."

"Okay."

A few moments later Rydon felt pressure on his furry cheek. The sleepy wolf opened his eye to see Kiara smiling.

"What color fur do you think she'll have?"

"Any color that'll probably suit you."

"What color do you think her eyes would be? Green like yours?" Kiara curiously reached out and accidentally poked Rydon's eye. Much to his growing irritation.

"No." He said a bit roughly. He then tried to soften his tone. "Probably the same as yours."

"When do you think ill-

"Kiara!" Rydon finally snapped much to the 6 year olds suprise. "We are trying to sleep. We have training tonight and asking the same questions over and over again is getting annoying. We get that you want a wolf but now is not the time to be asking." He then sighed. "Please leave us alone until we are done sleeping." He then shifted his body to the other side and away from Kiara.

Soon the wolf expected for Kiara to say something or at least move to leave but heard nothing. Concerned he turned over to see Kiara with her back towards him and staring at the floor.

"Kiara?"

"Hm?"

The 6 year old turned to face Rydon and the expression on her face made his heart break. She had tears down her cheeks but they were so silent you wouldn't have heard her.

"You... you shouldn't keep worrying about having a wolf."

"Why?"She whispered silently.

He rested his head on his paws as he stared at the little girl.

"I'll be your wolf."

"But you are Kadin's wolf?"

"Exactly why ill be there."

Rydon saw the confusion on her face and shook his head.

"Come here."

After Kiara edged closer he patted his paw next to him. "I think it's your nap time little one."

"No it's not." Even as she said so she yawned tiredly. Rydon shook his head with a light smile as he grabbed a cover and covered Kiara with it. He then went under the covers next to her and held back a laugh seeing her trying to fight her sleep.

"You should sleep little one."

"No! I want to stay up! You didn't finish explaining to me!"

Rydon rubbed his furry cheek against Kiara's and watched as the young child succumbed to her sleep and laid her body against him. Rydon protectively cuddled around her. Truthfully he's bad at apologies but seeing her sleeping made him feel like its worth it.

"You'll understand when you get older."

This certain memory appeared in Rydon's mind as he stared at the fully shifted she- wolf in front of him.

Beautiful.

And he meant it. He never seen a coat like the one she had. Full of a dark and medium mixture of purple on her long front mane. Along with a dark turquoise fur with moonlight blue undertones. He never thought the sight would've made him so intrigued. After all a mane like this doesn't come often.

*A flashback of her wolf just incase you've guys forgot.*

"Ready?" River yawned boredly as she scratched her ear.

Rydon was taken aback from River's voice. It sounds similar to Kiara's but has more of a dry tune to it. Not that it was bad just surprising. But then again a warrior wolf in her standards isn't surprising with a voice such as hers.

"Yea. Let's go."

The two started chasing after the first rabbit which had a few ways ahead. But what was most surprising was the way River took lead pretty much quickly after a few moments of running side by side to Rydon. It didn't take the she wolf long to quickly find not only the first rabbit but two others as she prepared to eat them.

Rydon was a bit embarrassed. He won't lie and say that he didn't try to take this opportunity to showcase his own skills but she didn't even give him a chance to do so.

"What type of wolf are you?"

"A queen."

Seeing Rydon not saying anything River looked up at him slightly and chuckled. "Did I hurt your pride?"

The Alpha Wolf quickly shook his head. "No! No no not that it's just-

"We are a tough breed? I know." She said as she bit and chewed down on one of the rabbits. "Many other male wolves get intimidated when they see me. Or more well of disgusted."

"Why's that?" Ryder asked as he bit down on the other rabbit.

"Their standard definition of queen she wolf is pretty much different than my rough ways of doing things. Sometimes it gets a bit lonely." River continues to eat the rabbit. "But it isn't all that bad. I was able to meet Kiara and the rest."

She then stood up and walked over to the water. "You can have the other one. I'll wash up first."

Rydon thought as she left the area.

"Well, it's their loss."

He looked down at the dead extra rabbit River left him. He was tempted not to eat it out of sentiment.

"River eh? Suits her."

Just as he thought thus he felt a massive shift of pain in his forehead. The wolf groaned as he laid his head down and tried to calm the massive ache on his head. It grew continuously and made his vision blurry ad he tried to stand but ended up falling down.

"Rydon!"

River?

Just as he saw her blurry wolf figure run towards him his eyes rolled and unconscious.

"Kadin!"

Kiara?

Kadin unknowingly shifted back in his human form.

"Kadin are you alright?!"

Kadin felt heat course through his veins as his vision blurred while he tried to focus on her face.

"P-painful..."

Kiara anxiously tried lowering his body temperature with the water she continued to place on his body.

"I know I'm trying!" She assured him as his head turned in pain from the pressure.

She didn't understand why he was like this.

What happened?

Not to mention Ocean wasn't responding and helping her. So she has to use water from the pond to cool him down but so far it isn't helping.

Let me try this.

She gently placed her hand over his forehead and watched as the energy she emitted cooled down his body and made his tense face lighten slightly.

"Good." She sighed relived. "Now I can use the water and star-

His body suddenly shook as his temperature increased far more than before causing her to panic even more.

"Shit shit shit shit!!" She tried to again on his arms, ribs, chest, and legs but each time it'll work temporally before rising up again. Now he even felt too hot to the touch.

"Damnit!!" She groaned fustratedly. "How do I even make his body take it?!"

She then thought for a moment.

Like medicine. If he can't take it from the outside try-

"From the inside." She then looked at him for a moment and sighed. "Last try."

She gingerly placed her hand over his mouth and watched how his body started cooling slowly. She smiled.

"This is a good start."

She then noticed his body started to slowly heat up again. Even though it's cooling if his body can't fight it off fast enough it'll be much more complicated.

"Alright fuck it."

Kiara parted his mouth and exchanged the energy she had in her body into his. She then forced a bit of Ocean's powers to use water as a bit of a cooling system for the inside of his body. Mixing both her energy and Ocean's gave Kadin's body the amount of energy needed to cool the inside of his body. The blue soft hue that emitted from Kiara gently settled itself into Kadin's body. And even though that should be the thought on Kiara's mind another thought was filling her thoughts.

His lips are so soft.

As she thought this she felt his lips move slightly against hers and felt the situation was funny.

Even in life or death he still wants to kiss something?

She parted lips from him and watched as his arm held against her legs comfortably. Kiara smiled exasperated as she ran her fingers through his hair and the stress on his face calmed into tiredness. As nice as it felt she felt guilty.

He's gonna kill me.
