Β°Uyai's POVΒ°
Few days from now and I'd be seeing my best friend in the flesh. I was super exited about that. But like always, there seemed to be a tinie tiny ditsy little problem.
Where on earth will I get a place for her to stay or the tuition money?!
My life's always seemed to get easier and easier by the day. Though like always, I had a plan. But it had a fifty-fifty percent chance that it would work.
I simply walked down the stairs, to see dad watching a sport program and mum, tapping away on her tablet. I bit my lower lip anxiously, before finding my way to their line of sight.
"Dad," I swallowed nervously. "Mum?"
Mother gazed up at me, then looked back at her tablet. "What is it darling?"
I fidgeted a bit with my fingers, then forced myself to sit on the stool close to mum's couch.
"I want to ask a question." I stared at mum. She gave me a go ahead sign to continue. Looking at dad, I realised he didn't care less.
"Do I have a twin?" That did the trick. Mother immediately placed her tablet down, to stare at me in uttermost disbelief. Dad on the other hand, drew his eyes from the television, to gaze at me.
"Baby," Mother crawled towards me. "H-How did you know?"
I knitted my brows in confusion. "Dad. Dad literally said and I quote 'Your sister would have survived instead of you' at the hospital the other day. That literally scream twin sister, to me."
"Tatian___"
"Plus," I said, cutting dad short in the process. "I was snooping in your room last month."
I braced myself, as I prepared for my best act ever, using Tatiana's own words.
"I found a doctor's report of mother, having a set of twin. But unfortunately, your later child got missing." Mother's eyes began to get wet, and I knew she was about to cry.
"I-I never wanted to remember that incident," Mother voice broke. Father got up from his seat, and wrapped mother into a warm hug. I never knew he could ever be this affectionate towards anyone.
"I've met her," Mum and dad stared at me dumbfounded. "I met her before my accident."
"You did," Father said, when we both knew mother couldn't utter a word at the moment. Tears had started pouring from her eyes uncontrollably. I never wanted to hurt her like this. But she needed to know that Tatiana knew about me.
I nodded my head at dad. "I did some investigations, and eventually found her. B-But," I pretended to stutter. I knew my next word would hurt as hell, but I just had to say it. "She died after my last encounter with her."
Mother was dumbfounded, she was so shocked that she couldn't even sob. My information had stroke her like a bolt of lightning.
"H-Honey," Mother got hold of father's house wear. "D-Did I-I h-hear o-our d-daughter r-right?" I felt sorry for her, she was breaking down badly.
"I'm sorry," I said. But this time, I really meant it. "I wanted to bring her home, but I was waiting for the right time. But it never seem to come."
I thought father would open his mouth to rain abusive words at me, but he didn't. He preferred comforting his crying wife.
I gulped down the lump in my throat, before muttering my next words. "But Uyai had a best friend, Judith."
"W-Was that her name?" I breathed out as I stared at mother. "Was that your sister's name?" I nodded, but said nothing.
"What a beautiful name," Mother gave a watery smile. "It means beauty."
Now, I felt bad making her feel this way. But I had started, and there was no going back. "I feel if we bring Judith, Uyai's best friend over to the house, we'd be closer to Uyai."
"I'm not going to bring a total stranger into my own home!" Dad raged up.
You're already living with a stranger, mister.
"She isn't a stranger, she was your daughter's best friend." I tried to reason with him. "Plus, do this for mother. She needs to know how her daughter was before her death. What she liked and disliked. And there's no other person to give mum that much information, except Uyai's best friend."
I stood up from the couch, in anticipation to leave the room. "Just think about it."
I started leaving the room, when mother's voice stopped me. "Could she make it here tomorrow?"
I let the smile crawled up my lips and turned to face mother. "Yeah, she could. But...." I dragged on purpose.
"She's on school days. She can't leave school unless you'd want her to transfer." I watched as mother contemplated.
"And what would make her transfer school, when she's just going to stay a day or two?" Father growled at me.
"I need to know more about my dead sister, Dad. And so does mum. It's not going to happen a day or two, it even a month." I knew dad would be a problem. He was as tough as a rock.
Mother lifted her hands and placed it on father's. "You could help with her tuition, honey. It wouldn't be to hard for you. All I want is to know about my daughter."
Strike when she's emotional....
Father placed his hands on his temple, and rubbed it aggressively. "Fine," He said harshly, feeling angry at his decision. "Just fine!"
..... And the husband will agree.

I rushed over to my room after I had successfully convinced my parents to let Judith stay. I didn't even know why my dad threw a fit, when it was obvious he could train eight children at once.
Yeah I know, this wasn't a charity home. But the truth still remains that I needed some normalcy in my life, meaning I needed Judith. It would be nice to have a familiar face around.
Right now, I was busy on the phone, trying to reach Judith. Once she had answered, I immediately told her the possibilities of her coming.
"Oh my God! Hope you've got a good phone for taking pictures. My camera's the worst." Judith informed over the phone.
"iPhone 11 Pro," Was my short reply. Judith exclaimed on the other end.
"Kill me!" She gasped once more. "You're beyond lucky to be rich. Your parents over here don't even give one shot about your supposed death. By the way, I've packed my bestest clothes. Instagram go hear am."
I chuckled at her words. See, normalcy. Even on the phone, she was already making me feel excited. "Can't wait to see you tomorrow Bestie."
"Can't wait to see you too babe," She replied, and ended the call.
I dropped my phone gently on the bed, not knowing that I was making the biggest mistake of my life.
