"I'm pregnant, Zack. I'm telling you this because it's your baby."
I raised a questioning eyebrow at her. This wasn't the time to play games. I didn't come all the way here to play some shitty game.
"And you expect me to believe that? Look Daisy the least I can do is to believe you're pregnant. I know what game you're trying to play why don't you quit?" I persisted.
"Does this look like a lie?" she pointed at her face expression.
I gave her a thorough check to see if I could find something different. Daisy wore very skimpy, scandalous outfits and most of them contained crop tops. Her belly had always been flat and toned and there was not even the slightest of a bump.
"Oh dude, stop being a nuisance. I'm only two months into the pregnancy," She yelled, annoyed I was ogling her body.
She dipped her hand inside her fanny pack and brought out a neatly folded black paper and four pregnancy tests. She pushes two of the pregnancy tests towards me but kept the other two.
"I took the pregnancy test this morning and without any motherfucking hesitation, it showed two lines which means pregnant. I skipped school to go for a checkup to confirm it. And I discovered I am about nine weeks pregnant, which proves that the baby was conceived the night we slept together." She urged me to take a look by nodding her head, her wavy hair bouncing.
Two pink lines. That was what I first noticed when I took the pregnancy tests. Disgusted she peed on them. I felt nothing because I was sure it wasn't mine. Daisy was just trying to play games with me for her cruel intentions.
"Listen, this is my first time explaining myself to someone. I want you to keep your mouth shut and hear me out. You're going to be a father in seven months whether you accept it or not. I didn't ask for this either. I'm only telling you this because you have to know but I don't want anything from you."
"I don't believe you. You're nothing but a gold digging slut. Pretty sure it's Keith's baby but since Ken isn't ready to take responsibility, you're trying to frame me."
She pulled back to glare daggers at me. Keith, a rival jock to me was Daisy's on and off boyfriend with a character and looks that fit the description of a ken doll. H had slept around with lots of girls of Maxwell High. Born with a golden spoon in his mouth and had anything he wanted with just a snap of his fingers. From breaking into the girls' changing room to prank calling his teachers at night and freaking the shit out of them. Typical spoiled brat.
"I was abstaining for three months before we slept together. Moreover, I had never slept with a guy while drunk. You were the first guy to break the rule. I never planned on getting pregnant with your child. I have dreams to fulfil too but when fate comes crashing, I have to accept things the way they are." Shooting me a fierce stare that went straight to my core, her eyes glittered irritation and impatience.
I couldn't find the words to say. It felt like they were stuck in my throat. Her words suddenly burnt me like acid and my head spun for a few seconds. The only reason I agreed on was sleeping with her, because the morning after the party, I woke up in a state of disarray and a massive hangover, only to find her soft, naked body pressed against me.
It was such a shame a beautiful girl like Daisy was robbed off of her life. Even though I despised her for her cruelty and inept behavior, I still thought she deserved better than this. She was just seventeen and having a baby already. Not only was she going to miss out her teenage lifestyle but also adapting and preparing for the hardship of motherhood at an early age. The only obstacle was I need to find the truth about what actually happened that night to prove her right.
Having a baby wasn't a normal task for a seventeen year old. Both Daisy and I were just teenagers experiencing a hard time. That was the point where we learnt about adulthood. If we were still growing up, how could we manage to raise a kid? Although, having a baby at seventeen was expensive and hard to deal with, I would never try to kill my child.. From the way Daisy spoke about her baby, I knew we were on the same page about abortion.
"Can you give me some time to think? I can't really tell you what I feel now." I had to think about the situation and learn what happened that night. If what Daisy claimed turned out right, I felt like a disappointment already. How was I supposed to inform my family and teachers?
"You don't have any decision to make. If you want to be a part of my kid's life, then welcome but there are rules guiding it. You have to stick to your words and be active in the kid's life. But if you don't want to, you'll make me as happy as a box of birds. I'm ready to be a single mother and to devote my time for this baby." She said with so much ease. Her eyes were softening and she slowly licked her lower lip.
"Fine, I want to take a break, just don't tell anyone about this, okay? I'm not ready to tell them about the baby." Mumbling, I looked around in case a familiar face popped up during our heated conversation. Luckily, there was no one.
The corners of her lips quirked up in a self satisfactory smile. Her face looked distrustful and the evil glint appeared again. "You should know by now everything comes with a price. I'll keep my mouth shut if you agree to pay the price."
I was ready to bargain at any cost, "That's what you think? Let's talk about the price?"
"Firstly, You'll be my personal tutor and assist me with my homeworks and projects. Secondly, we are going to pretend to be friends. Simple, I know right." She finished with a cocky grin.
That was a lot to bargain for. "I didn't know the bad girl studies. I thought all she knows is dancing like a barbie princess." I mocked.
"Do not underestimate the power of a bad girl, Zack."
I thought for a second. What was she planning to do? Daisy was always the straight F student,
barely managing to be promoted to the next class unlike her sister. Jenna was one of the best students of Maxwell High School. She was the pride and joy most teachers would talk about. Although she was a year younger than Daisy, they were enrolled together.
I sighed, closing my eyes to breath in deeply before nodding. Daisy was not the type to be taken for granted. She had always stood her ground and avoided all nonsensical behaviors. "Deal."
She stood up and dropped a few tips and a piece of paper on the table. "The paper contains my number. Just wanted to let you know that whenever you see the same digits it's the bad girl, Candy. I have to go before Mr. and Mrs Coleman and their precious little daughter comes after me with the whole crew of pirates of the Caribbean." And off she went.
I remained rooted watching as she walked out gracefully. From the open window, I saw her climb her Kawasaki Z600 motorcycle. There was that effeminate remorse she exhibited like no other girl. She always stood her ground, never displayed her emotions. There was something about Daisy I couldn't point my finger on. She was mysterious and always had a gloom obscuring her face. Maybe one day, I will find out.

Daisy
I parked my bike in the garage and turned it off. For a few seconds, I remained sitting, my mind going back to her long conversation with her baby's daddy. I let out a sigh of relief, after finally letting out the skeleton out of the closet. Before I could stop herself, my hands found their way to my belly, rubbing against the flat surface. I was not alone anymore. There was a baby growing in me. I knew everything would change forever if I was going to have the baby. But I don't care. Although my parents know nothing about her pregnancy, one way or another they're going to find out. It was going to be a huge responsibility to inform them and Cole.
Getting off the bike, I strolled inside the house through the door connecting the garage and inside. There was no one in the neat and quiet living room. The wooden floor looked perfectly clean and not even a single dust could be spotted.
"Mom! Dad! I'm home!" I yelled out, marching to the kitchen to find something to eat.
I heard their footsteps on the creaked floorboards as they descended down the stairs. Looking up, I found Mom and a sad looking Jenna by the kitchen door. They looked identical with Jenna inheriting Mom's brunette hair, her body frame and her brown eyes. The only difference was just that Jenna's pointed nose and plump lips was that of Dad.
"I found Jenna's stuff in your closet. Care to explain why?"
I tightly shut my eyes and bowed my head down. She went through my stuff without my permission, again. For the past ten months, Jenna's stuff had been making an appearance in my bedroom. At first, our parents suspected nothing but when I mistakenly took Jenna's socks and jeans instead of mine, all hell broke loose. They began searching and inspecting my personal stuff and monitoring what I kept. It WS so low of them to think I was a thief.
Jenna, being the innocent little sister would try to stop them from trying to frame me as the culprit. I denied the allegations at first but when I realised they were serious, I stopped trying to prove my innocence. Not that I care because I wasn't the culprit after all.
"Oops! I don't know how it got there." I sighed tiredly. My body felt like it was slowly falling apart into pieces and my legs turning to jelly.
"I told you to stay away from your sister's stuff! Why do you like causing conflicts between you and your sister? Your sister has always been supportive towards you. You never respect her boundaries, Daisy. We gave you everything you needed and treated you the same, so what's the problem? You know what, since you're not going to admit the truth, I'm going to ground you. You'll not have dinner and I'll take your phone. You're going to sit your ass in your room and shove that nose into your book! The phone, now!" Her outstretched hand was shaking from the frustration radiating from her.
"Mom, you don't have to do that. I'm sure there's a misunderstanding here. Maybe the housekeeper..." Jenna started to plead on behalf of me. Hell no.
"Shut the fuck up, bitch! I don't want your help!" I angrily interrupted. Stupid bitch trying to act innocent.
The phone was snatched away from my hand. "That's not how you speak to your sister, Daisy. You're such a disappointment to this family. You don't care about your studies, you sleep around with boys, you're always on detention, you wouldn't do your homework, you disrespect both your parents and teachers and you never support your sister. I don't even know what to do with you anymore. You're just being a hazard to us, Daisy. Please, take your time and think about therapy." With that, mom left the kitchen.
Jenna gave me a small, sad smile before leaving the kitchen which in return, earned a deadly scowl from me. Stupid bitch.
