TWO WEEKS LATER

"I'm so nervous. Gosh, I can't believe I'm going to have a baby in a few weeks time. I'm freaking out!" Lillian glares at her husband who was putting all their stuff into the back of the car. "But Tony doesn't even care."

I chuckle when Lillian's husband rolled his eyes. "Baby, please not here. I told you I'm very ready and excited to meet the baby so why would I freak out?"

"I bet it's because he isn't the one going to push the baby out of him." The beautiful lady in my arms said jokingly.

"Thank you, Daisy." Lillian replied with a smile. Tony playfully glower at Daisy whom smirked in return.

He opened the passenger door for his young wife. "Sweetbear, please get in before the snow gets worse. Your water could break if you continue to panic."

She ignored him and waved us goodbye instead. She got inside the car and Tony said his goodbyes too. He got inside the driver's seat and they zoomed off.

The counselling class had just ended and we're about to leave. We made a lot of friends with the other members and plan to hang out after Tony and Lillian's baby arrives. They're very kind and sweet and we bonded almost immediately.

"Don't forget to call me after you find out the gender!" We heard Eliza called out as she got inside the car. She's very good friends Daisy and I couldn't be more happier.

"Of course! See you next week!" Daisy replied back with a wave as we matched to my car. I gently open the passenger door and Daisy muttered a 'thank you' before getting in. I got inside, revived the engine and soon, we found ourselves on the road.

Daisy had become softer and quieter. Although she's happy with her life, I know unpleasant things are still happening on the darker side but anyway, she chose to ignore them. We aren't officially a couple but we do and act like couples.

I love spending my time with her. I feel whole when I'm next to her. We can spend a day talking and walking at the beach without getting bored. We're never in shortage of interesting topics to talk about. She spends a lot of time at my house and became much closer to my family. In fact, she even had a couple of sleepovers and once even stayed up all night with Maya.

Before exams ended, our favourite place was under the tree of our school. We sit under the shades and read occasionally chattering or just making out while enjoying the winter breeze. It was one of the greatest moments I'll forever cherish.

We asked for nothing but peace in the past couple of weeks. The weeks went by quickly and in a blur, we have finished writing our exams. It's safe to say it went smoothly and each time we come out of the exam hall, Daisy always had a huge smile plastered on her lips. I was very proud we made it together. We dare not to interfere with anyone's business but rather, studied together. I'm sure we'll pass the exams with flying colours.

We avoided Jenna at all cost. Of course we had to beg Naomi not to take any stupid act since school would close in a few days. She reluctantly agreed but promise to get back at her after the exams. Luckily, Jenna minded her own business throughout the weeks. She refused to go on another date with Korbin – which was for the best – and avoided Naomi and her squad. Sometimes, I catch her staring at me. She'd immediately turn away but I became a little conscious when she's around.

Above all, I made it clear that Daisy and I are together. My family were over the moon and my friends couldn't be more happier. I genuinely want to be with her and start a relationship before our baby's arrival.

"What do you say? We find the gender today?" I heard her serene voice filled the car.

I gave my sugar a once look over before turning my attention on the road. "I don't know. Whatever you say is what we do."

"But you're the father. It's a fifty fifty, remember?" she quietly reminded me.

"yeah, I know but I'm letting you choose because I want you to."

She sighed and looked out of the window. "Kassy's expecting a little princess. And then a few months later, our baby will arrive."

I clenched my jaws as I listened. I hate Nathan for abandoning my sister when she needs him the most especially after knowing what he did afterwards. Within just the few months after their breakup, he started dating another girl. "That jerk of a father dumped her. Currently dating a new girl. I saw him a couple of days ago."

I felt a small hand on my knee and instantly relaxed. She pats on it before rubbing it. "Hey, everything's going to be okay. It's his decision to walk away simply because he's a coward. It's better to end the relationship before it becomes toxic. Beside, Kassy is doing much better without him."

I hesitantly nodded and brushed it off. "What do you say, we go eat at the restaurant then visit the doctor?"

I saw her smile from the corner of my eyes. "Sounds cool."

I observe the technician as he professionally moves the transducer, stop occasionally then moves it again.

A small yet cute baby bump was on a display with Daisy's shirt pulled up to her chest. I was holding her hand like we normally do when we visit the doctor which is pretty often. I've never missed a doctor's visit and always kept a sonogram of the growing foetus. Daisy is currently in her sixteenth week and the baby is the size of an avocado. It makes me feel delighted to know that our baby was growing perfectly in its mother's belly.

Trinity was standing in the opposite side also observing the monitor. Daisy and I were calm, waiting for the reveal of the gender of our baby patiently.

For a brief moment, Trinity and the technician stare at each other before staring back at the monitor. They smile as if to reassure themselves before finally turning to us. A huge grin was distinct on their faces.

"Miss Coleman, Mr Hudson, I think we know the answer but we need the ultrasound imaging - the sonogram - to confirm it." the technician happily said.

Daisy and I glance at each other cheerfully. I kissed her fingertips as we await the sonogram to be processed. Though without speaking, she assured me that everything's going to be okay.

"If the examination of the midline sagittal view of the genital area shows a caudal notch, the fetusis female, and if it shows a cranial notch, then the fetus is male. In the second and third trimesters of pregnancy, ultrasound imaging scans the genital anatomy of the fetus to identify its gender." Trinity explained.

"And, from the results here," the technician started to say while his gaze fixed on the sonogram. "Congratulations young folks, you're expecting a little princess."

I let the joy to bring a soft happiness, a sense that is akin to gratitude and awe. The reveal lights up my insides and gives me serenity I never know I can have. Every emotion is fleeting, every thought gives way to new.
I could almost feel the burning sensation of tears of joy in my eyes. Daisy was giggling and her eyes look glassy. I pecked her on her forehead, happiness radiating from us.

The gender never really matters because I love my child unconditionally. Hearing that we're going to have a baby girl feels like a blessing to me. I'm very happy and proud to be a father of a baby girl soon. I couldn't wait to have a princess and love her unconditionally. To play with her and decorate her bedroom with her Mom. To hold her and read bedtime stories for her. I'll protect her and give her all she wants.

"A girl! I'm so happy, Zack." Daisy said with tears rolling down her cheeks.

"I know. I am too." I whispered.

"Okay lovebirds, just a couple of minutes and you're off. Congratulations." Trinity said with a huge smile.

Daisy and I look into each other's eyes. "Thank you."

"Go on a date with me." I said without taking my eyes off the road.

I couldn't see the smirk but I know it was on her lips. "Why would I go on a date with you, Zack Alan Hudson?"

"Our relationship isn't official. In my own words, we have to go on a date to make it official." I shrugged.

"But we've already been on numerous dates. In fact, we went on a date a couple of hours ago. At the restaurant." her laughter filled the car.

"That wasn't a date." I argued with a frown. "I want to take you out on a date tonight. Just the two of us. In fact, I already booked tickets to the cinema."

"Tonight? But you have a match the next tomorrow. You have a lot of practice tomorrow." she reminded me.

"Please Daisy, let's go on this date to make it official."

She chuckled but said nothing for a short moment. I glance shortly at her to find her rubbing her hand on her barely visible belly. It looks like an unconscious act, like she did it without knowing.

"Promise me, if I go on a date, will you win this match?" she sincerely said.

I pulled in front of her house and turn to her. I inched closer and pressed my lips on her soft lips. When I pulled away, her eyes were dazed. I smile and rub a thumb on her jaw, running down to her plump lips.

"I don't know what fate has for us but I'm very determined. I'll try my best to win you over and to win that match. All you have to do is go on a date with me. It's a deal." I enlightened with a smirk.

She shook her head in amusement. "You won't give up, right?" I shrugged. "Alright, the time?"

"Seven." I muttered.

She squeezes my hand before opening the door. She got out and waved at me. I waved back and drove off. I was about to explode from delight of her acceptance.
