Every single head except for Kathleen turned around, looking at the person who entered the door who shows to be Jess. She's in tears and her thin and fast breathings sent Junel running outside to fetch her some bottled water. 

The incident immediately circulated the internet as some of the customers in the coffee shop had uploaded videos of the shooting, so they had to stay in the hospital's triage room to hide themselves from the media. Every person connected to Samantha's case are all in one place and are now facing a new one.

Jess let out a bawl of mixed anger and pain that everyone froze on their spots doubly. "I-It was y-you, isn't it?!" Although no name was addressed, it was evident that she was referring to Kathleen who didn't bother looking at her. 

She was only sitting down the stall on the corner, still collecting herself from the horrifying scene she experienced moments ago; she didn't even had the time to wash the blood on her face and hands, let alone change her crimsoned clothes.

She tried saving Scott back in there by performing first aid, she learned back in high school; however, the bullet penetrated the left part of his neck and she saw how severe the damage was. The entry wound might be small, but the exit wound is large which will cause great injury that is doubtfully survivable.

Jess groaned and rushed forward, ready to strike Kathleen at all cost when Takumi stepped in between to stop her. "Don't," his voice sounded calm, but much to his chagrin, his facial expression displays several emotions; he, himself, couldn't understand.

"S-Stand aside," Jess wheezed. "I-I just wanna talk to her."

"You have to calm down, you might only get yourself in danger," Takumi glanced at her belly. He didn't know who Jess really was, but seeing her pregnant and the way she wanted to hurt Kathleen, he could already tell he's the woman behind the betrayals.

"You can't be telling me what to do—whoever you a-are," Jess pointed Takumi with her quivering hand. 

"I demand to know what really happened. W-Why did Scott save her?"

"I could tell you..." Kathleen whispered, eyes still wandering down the tiled floor. "But none of us knew why, exactly."

"That's bullshit," Jess lamented, looking to no one in specific. "Scott is never one to risk his life for someone. He can't even do that for me, but then, y-you?" Her eyes shifted to Kathleen.

 "Tell me, w-what did you do to him? He's acting like his normal self before he left this a-afternoon, so how?"

"You tell me," Kathleen finally turned to face her, slowly standing up. Takumi sighed and went back to where Tomoya and Theresa are, in order to give the two women the space to talk

"Acting like his normal self?" Kathleen re-echoed. "You sounded like you're not the one who did something awful around here to begin with. I thought Scott was already extremely manipulative, but that innocent face of yours is far more dangerous!"

Jesss coffed. "Scott is dying a-and that is still your concern?!"

"Well, Samantha already is! S-She's already gone. What happened to Scott is something I would never give a damn about, but he's still someone precious to Samantha a-and I can't turn a blind eye to that," Kathleen wasn't able to hold her tears back anymore; her whole body quivered in despondency.

"At least Scott s-still has a chance to live while my best friend..." she sucked her lips, she doesn't wanna say the word, let alone swallow the reality. "S-She could be still alive somewhere, but I no longer know h-how to reach her without risking anyone's life and I can't help, but blame you, Scott, a-and even m-myself for that!"

Kathleen covered her mouth with one hand in attempt to stop herself from bursting in tears, but failed. Christian, whom Kathleen has been pushing away a while ago, stepped close to comfort his girlfriend.

"S-Samantha...she's a kind p-person, she doesn't deserve any of these," Kathleen continued, she's only looking at Jess who stayed quiet and immobile. She's not breaking the eye contact she's having with her either.

"She's just trying to live and no one was able to help her. S-She suffered alone."

Takumi and Tomoya exchanged looks; they're both anxious that Kathleen might expose something in her situation, but none of them was able to move. The weight of the atmosphere is too heavy for them, good thing Theresa has read the state of affairs and stood up to stop Kathleen's next words. She bent down and caressed her back.

"That's enough," she whispered. "Pull yourself together. We'll definitely find another way to save Samantha," those were only words of encouragement as she, herself, didn't really know what to do either. 

Scott's unexpected sacrifice has completely altered her vision and she haven't seen anything since then which makes her feel perturbed without any definite reason. Flicking her hair back her face, she straightened and turned to Jess.

"Take a seat, miss. Do that for your baby, at least," Theresa shrugged to her chair awhile ago and Tomoya was swift to carefully push it beside Jess's foot.

                "C'mon, J-Jess," finally Junel arrived and helped her sit down. "Have you seen Kim? She was here a while ago."

Jess glanced at the bottled water, Junel almost shove on her face and took it. He was engrossed from searching for his girlfriend's whereabout inside the room and when he wasn't able to find her, he looked down to Jess. "And Kaiser... where are they?"

Jess frowned, searching for the right answer that would give the situation its proper weight. "M-Might be outside the o-operating room."

"God! They shouldn't be there," Junel grimaced and sheepishly turned to look at Kathleen when the awkward reality smacked him back to his awareness. Although she doesn't look like she cares, the way her brows twitch indicates mental malediction.
