💙Chapter 24💙

Wisdom does not come overnight.
~African proverb

"Which ride would you like to go on first?" Xavier asked. I looked at all the rides and I was only excited to go on the roller coaster first.

Something about seeing it made me excited. It was so large with the most corkscrews and twists than any ride I had ever seen.

"I would like to go on the roller coaster." I grinned excitedly.

"Are you sure you want the roller coaster? I heard that some people have fallen off of it." He said, rubbing his hands against his trousers.

"I am sure nothing will happen. You don't have to be so pessimistic."

"I am trying not to. It's just that I am afraid of heights so I have never been on a roller coaster."

"I am afraid too but that is why we are here to have fun and what can be more fun than trying something we would never do alone."

"I guess you are right but please don't judge me when I scream like a girl." He chuckled slightly, causing me to laugh.

"I will be screaming with you so no need to worry."

I forcefully dragged him to the queue for the roller coaster. We stood in line and our attention was immediately taken when we heard people screaming as loud as they could on the rides.

Both Xavier and I began to laugh when we observed the funny facial expressions of the people on the rides.

"That will be us soon," Xavier said in between giggles.

"I can't wait for that," I replied laughing.

The emotion was so evident in the air of that eventful place. Everyone seemed both anxious and excited and I couldn't help but feel the same.

It was finally our turn to get on the ride. We sat next to each other and held firmly to the bars holding us to our seats.

I held Xavier's arm because I was terrified and that would be the best way to relieve myself of the fear I was experiencing.

The ride began to take off and adrenaline surged through me. The next ten minutes were a blur of screams of both Xavier and me as wind whizzed through our hair and tightly shut eyes.

It was so mind-blowing as we went from such a large height to a lower height and I immediately got that belly feeling.

We eventually descended and my knees were still shaky and I was breathing heavily but I could not keep the grin from forming on my face.

I never thought it would be that fun and all I wanted was to have more fun.

I gazed at Xavier who was breathing heavily with a broad grin on his face.

"Xavier," I whispered.

"Yes, Luna. "

"I think I just broke my leg." I lied, pretending to be hurt. I wanted to see how concerned he would be.

"Oh, my, God! How did that happen? "He began to panic." I think we need to leave now to get your leg checked up."

"Don't worry so much Xavier. It's not that bad trust me." I bit my tongue to keep myself from laughing." We can still go on other rides."

"I don't think we can. I need to take you home."  He said concerned.

"Oh, no, Xavier! It's just a minor injury, we can't let that keep us from having more fun.  Please don't take me home now." I pouted my lips and made puppy eyes.

"Okay fine but we can only stay if you allow me to carry you on my back."

"Thanks, Xavier," I said, trying hard to keep a cheeky grin from forming on my face.

He placed me on his back and carried me around the park. That was exactly my plan in pretending to be hurt. I just wanted him to give me a piggyback ride.

"Xavier," I whispered in his ears allowing my hot breath to hit his ear. I did this deliberately to get his attention even though he was carrying me.

"Yes, Luna."

"What are we going to do next?" I whispered in his ear again.

He laughed suddenly." Luna, why are you whispering in my ear?"

"I just want your attention." I placed my head on his back.

He giggled slightly."You have all my attention, Luna. Concerning what next, we can play some games since your leg is broken."

"Okay, that sounds good."

He carried me until we saw a place where people play a game called balloon and dart. The game looked good and I liked the idea of playing it.

"Let me place you on this chair and then I will try to win you one of those prizes," Xavier said. He gently placed me on a chair trying not to hurt my leg.

"I want the teddy bear, it looks adorable," I demanded. I wanted to see if he would do his best to get it for me.

"No need to worry I will get it for you." He said paying one Euro for a dart.

Immediately the man who owns that stand grabbed a dart from a tall glass filled with foam and gave it to him.

Xavier got it and immediately aimed for the balloon and missed." Argh! Okay, another one."

He paid for another dart and missed a second time. I watched him as he grabbed his hair in frustration.

"It's okay even if you don't get it for me." I chuckled slightly.

"No, it is not okay. I can spend even up to 100 euro just to get you that teddy bear ."

I smiled at his determination." Okay, but just know I appreciate your effort."

He nodded his head and paid for a third dart. He missed again and kept missing until he paid for a tenth dart.

"Ten is my favorite number, I know it will not disappoint me." He said confidently and aimed for the balloon and surprisingly hit it.

"Yes!" I stood up forgetting I am faking to have a broken leg.

Xavier was jumping up and down when he noticed me stand up." Your leg, Luna."

"It's a miracle!" I smiled awkwardly hoping he would buy my lie but he did not buy a single word of mine.

He giggled." So you have been faking it the whole time?"

I bit my lower lip and widened my eyes." Sorry?"

He laughed even more than before." For this teddy bear and for carrying you all this while, you owe me something."

"Which is?"

"A trip to the tunnel of love." He smiled cheekily.

"Okay, no problem,"  I replied with a grin. The tunnel of love is known to be a very romantic ride so I liked how that sounded.

We entered the little boat that takes us through the tunnel.

I looked at Xavier who had a cheeky grin on his face. I wondered what exactly he was planning to do.

It was my first time going on such a ride so I wondered what to expect. We sat in silence as the boat started to move.

But what was shocking was the unusual aura it had. The walls were painted pink and it had hearts stuck on them.  We sat in silence the whole time.

I glanced at Xavier to see how he found this strange scenery but I was creeped out to find him staring at me. He had a smile on his face and he didn't take his eyes off me even when I glanced at him.

I suddenly felt shy and lowered my head. I couldn't stare at him for even a minute.

" I sometimes stare at you and admire your beauty. You're really beautiful Luna." He said so abruptly that it made my heart skip.

"Thanks."  That was all I could say because deep inside I was exploding. That compliment was so unexpected that I couldn't help smiling.

That was indeed meant to be a tunnel of love because even the atmosphere made me feel some particular way.

I wondered why I was too shy to look at Xavier because  I  sat for minutes without glancing in his direction.

I finally gained the courage to and found him still staring at me. I looked at him without breaking eye contact.

We stared at each other for a few seconds and I could feel myself draw closer to him.

I wanted to kiss him. It was strange that I wanted to but I felt a strong need to.

I drew close to him until my lips were on his. I made the move. I did it. I kissed him out of my own will.

His lips were so soft on mine and I liked the feeling of it.

For some reason, it felt right to be kissing him.

That was when an image of my mom popped into my head.

"Did you tell him you like him?"

I remembered her creepy grin as she said it and that was when reality slapped me in the face.

I like Xavier.

******

Luna finally realized her feelings.😱🥺 Well, I like where this is going. Now, this makes me wonder where Tristan stands in her life.

Keep reading to find out. The drama is yet to come.* wiggles eyebrows.
