If you'd asked Juliana Scatorccio in high school what she'd be doing for a living as she approached 30, working at The Beef is the last thing she'd think to answer with.

Jules was ambitious in high school, finishing in the top 10 of her class and leaving her hometown of Chicago for Pace University in New York to study business.

She got her degree, and began working a job on Wall Street that she didn't really love, but that could give her the money to buy the life she'd always wanted and more.

That's when Carmen "Carmy" Berzatto re-entered her life. They were both living and working in New York, and it was nice to see a familiar face, as they'd grown up together. They dated for almost two years before they called it quits due to their busy schedules getting in the way.

A few short years later, Jules quit her job, moved out of her high-rise apartment and returned home to help take care of her mother. Growing up, her mother, Sherrie, had always struggled with her mental health. This time, however, things had gotten bad. So Jules returned home, and found herself sleeping in her childhood bedroom at the age of 26.

Unable to find a job that would allow her to also have the time to spend with her mom, Jules began working as a bookkeeper at The Beef , which was the local sandwich shop ran by her childhood friend (and Carmy's brother) Mikey Berzatto.

Things were relatively normal for awhile, that is until a fateful night in December where her world came crashing down all over again.

Mikey was dead, and no one knew what to do.

Not to mention the fact that the restaurant was a sinking ship and it seemed like she'd be going down with it.

Things were rough all over, and Jules didn't know what the future would hold. Especially once Carmy Berzatto came into her life yet again...
