Endure

I exhaled a deep sigh as I released Adam's lifeless body, watching it drift away. His handsome features remained unchanged, untouched by the grim fate I had unknowingly bestowed upon him. Though I had not intended for this outcome, the truth of his demise was undeniable. Yet, a fleeting thought crossed my mind - perhaps death would not be the end for him after all. With a heavy heart, I distanced myself from the scene, the air thick with the haunting echoes of shattered music.

I turned to meet her gaze as she approached me, her eyes filled with desperation. With a trembling voice, she pleaded with me, her words laced with anguish, "Please, Adam, do not leave us. The angels depend on your guidance." Lute's pleas tugged at my heart, and I observed with deep empathy as she cradled Adam's lifeless form in her arms, tenderly caressing his dark curls. The facade of strength I had maintained shattered in that moment, revealing the vulnerability that lingered beneath the surface.

I sank to my knees and settled into a seated position, bowing my head in a display of humility. Despite my perceived authority over the two angels before me, I could not shake the feeling that my worth did not exceed theirs.

My friends gathered around me, offering comfort and solace. Charle enveloped me in a warm embrace, while Lucier draped a wing over my shoulders, his voice a soothing murmur in my ear. "You made the correct decision, my dear," he whispered softly, causing a shiver to run down my spine. I exhaled a smoky breath before rising to my feet, the twin Morningstars accompanying me as I prepared to confront Lute.

She stood tall, glaring at the Archangel before her, her gaze unwavering. As tears stained her pale cheeks, a fierce determination glinted in her eyes. "You will face the consequences for your actions, Y/N," she growled ominously. "Remember my words: your family will meet their demise before I am through with you."

I let out a broken chuckle, my talons gouging the earth beneath me. "I can assure you, such threats are unnecessary," I remarked before releasing a weary sigh. "But I implore you to acknowledge that your anger only serves to fuel the flames. It is time to depart, to return to where you belong. Hell is no abode for an angel."

With a sense of scorn, she stood upright, extending her hand in a sweeping motion. In an instant, the bodies of the fallen adversaries vanished, along with the remains of the other exorcists who had succumbed in the fierce battle. "Heed my words, for heaven's mission in hell is far from over," she proclaimed solemnly. With a graceful unfurling of her wings, she ascended back towards the ethereal gateway, disappearing into the immortal realm.

I let out a weary sigh, feeling a sense of resignation wash over me. Before I could make any meaningful move, my eyes drifted shut, rolling back, followed by my head thumping softly against the ground, my limbs soon following suit.

Alastor was at a loss for words as he witnessed Y/n's body slump to the ground, feeling the tremors as the colossal dragon's form crashed down. However, one thing he was certain of: he could not allow her to bleed out. Her wing was bleeding profusely now, and although Y/n was resilient in battle, it seemed this recent skirmish had taken its toll. Alastor had discerned the subtle signs of agony in her ears, tail, and wings all too well, recognizing the unmistakable visage of suffering.

In the midst of Charle and the others' panic, Alastor was the epitome of composure. Stepping forward, he approached the NightWing and lightly tapped his cane against its nose. Much like their initial encounter, he swiftly teleported Y/n back to the safety of his quarters in the hotel. With efficiency, he sent a brief message to Charle to apprise them of their whereabouts.

He proceeded to diligently tend to her injuries and afflictions, drawing upon his powers as a boon. In addition to cleansing her wounds with a salubrious ointment, he embarked on the arduous task of mending her battered form.

Upon completing his ministrations, he summoned a cozy nest for her to recline in. With gentle strokes, he caressed her head as he hummed a melodious tune to himself. Completely consumed by the ethereal beauty of the scene before him, he lost himself in the moment.

Observing the glistening moisture emanating from her wound, he couldn't help but notice a slight frown creeping onto his lips. Contemplating the enigmatic nature of her reaction after narrowly escaping death, he pondered momentarily before shaking his head in bewilderment. Dragons, indeed, were an enigmatic and perplexing species.

He leaned in tenderly and pressed his lips against hers with utmost care before turning his gaze towards the window. The darkness was once again enveloping the world outside as the sun bled and faded, casting a haunting glow over the horizon.

A sacrilegious thought crossed his mind: Once this deed is done, she will undoubtedly submit to me, allowing me to finally claim her and fulfill my primal desires which have been simmering for countless moons. A soft chuckle escaped his lips as he couldn't help but feel a surge of anticipation coursing through him.

He then rose from his seat and made his way to the bed, shedding his garments before tucking himself under the covers. Tomorrow night, I shall ravish her into oblivion and at last make her realize that no other embrace is as secure as mine.
