jimin - request

y'all really love reading about jimin with children

ATTENTION

- in which jimin is tasked with watching over his daughter for the day and decides it would be the perfect time to introduce her to the other members; requested by @sunnyminyoongi

Jimin smiles fondly as the soft and incredibly tiny fingers of his daughter, Sua, wrap around his index finger weakly. His heart clenches when she flicks her doe eyes—so dark and full of an innocence that Jimin wishes to protect until the end of his time—up to meet his own gaze as if she can feel his staring.

Unable to help himself, he lowers himself and presses a gentle and tender kiss to her forehead, relishing in the sound of her soft giggles.

You rest against the frame of the door, watching the scene before you silently, a smile of contentment and bliss gracing your features. Jimin appears oblivious to your presence as he continues to play with his daughter, his sweet humming all you hear as he grasps Sua's tiny hands in his own.

Finally, he looks over in your direction and greets you with the smile you fell in love with, motioning you over with a tilt of his head.

You waste no time in rushing over to sit beside him, pulling your legs up so that you're practically curled into his side, breathing in his comforting scent of rain while caressing Sua's head lovingly. He uses his thumb and index finger to guide your face up to his, his plump lips meeting yours for a brief kiss.

"You all ready, love?" he muses, searching your eyes as your breaths mingle together. You sigh in a longing manner, your free hand reaching up to cup his face and caress the apples of his cheeks affectionately. Since giving birth to Sua, you decided to take a year and a half long break from work, really wanting to spend time with your family.

But now that time is up and you're due to show up at work in a few hours.

"No, not really," you admit, this news barely surprising Jimin as he smiles in understanding and leans in for yet another chaste kiss. You jut your lips out into pout and throw yourself back into the couch, huffing when all Jimin can do is chuckle at your childish behaviour.

"Don't worry, baby," he reassures with a soft voice. "The day will go by so quickly that you'll find yourself home in no time, I promise."

You roll your eyes despite the grateful grin on your face and cast him a look of sudden uncertainty. "Will you be okay by yourself? She can be really fussy sometimes."

Jimin scoffs at the evident lack of faith you have in him and shoos you away, amusement painting his eyes a deeply rich hazel. You laugh heartily as you reluctantly get up and slip on your work shoes, going back to your position at the door frame, seeming to enjoy the sight of Jimin and your child bathed in the golden rays of the sun with an atmosphere radiating peace and contentment surrounding them.

"Seriously," he hums, looking up at you with genuinity and sincerity, "Sua and I will be fine."

You nod gratefully, grabbing your bag and lunch off of the counter with a new found motivation to do well at work, stealing one final glance at the two people who have done nothing but bring you endless joy, your heart warming at the thought.

"Good luck today,"Jimin yells from his spot on the couch, chuckling to himself when you groan helplessly in response.

"Thanks," you yell back, taking a deep breath as you wrap your hand around the door knob, "I'm going to get going now! I'll be home soon. Love you."

"Love you too, Y/N," he returns, feeling a bubble of warm pride swell up in his chest when he hears the front door close and your car unlock before it revs up and slowly disappears down the road, everything fading to silence.

Sighing, he glances down at the child squirming around in his lap, giggling when she bunches parts of his shirt in an attempt to climb on top of him. He picks her up gently and presses a kiss to her cheek before placing her back down so that she's sitting, the young girl immediately getting distracted by the material of Jimin's sweatpants.

While mindlessly bouncing his knee up and down to keep Sua entertained, the young father contemplates what he can do during the day, barely even aware of his train of thought slipping from what he could have for lunch to the current state of his life.

Naturally enough, Jimin knows that he could not be happier with how well things have turned out for him.

However, he felt the same way when he watched you walk down the aisle dressed in white, stealing his breath away just as you had been doing for over six years. He remembers standing there at the altar with tears streaming down his face and thanking the stars for tying your fates together; for bringing him you.

He thought, in that moment, that there would never be another day where he feels this euphoric but then, you fell pregnant with Sua.

Before the young girl was even born, Jimin had fallen head over heels in love with her, spending any time he could by your side and tending to your every need to ensure that she would be born a healthy and glowing child.

That day, when Jimin held his crying bundle of joy in his arms, quickly became the best day of his life as it also was the day where he fulfilled his dreams of having a loving family of his own.

Sua's soft whine of discomfort snaps him out of his thoughts, his movements instinctive as he cradles her to his chest, cooing gently until she hums in satisfaction and fiddles around with her fingers much like Jimin had a few minutes ago.

Jimin subconsciously drags his gaze around the living room, searching for something to busy himself with while Sua relaxes, his eyes widening upon landing on a framed picture of him on stage with his other family; his brothers that watched him grow into the father that he is today.

It's now that Jimin realises that it's been so long since he's seen his members, so long that he's certain that they haven't had the pleasure of meeting his darling Sua yet.

"Daddy has an idea," Jimin mumbles down to Sua, holding her tighter as he stands, grinning widely. "Today, you're going to meet your uncles!"

The young girl, oblivious to what her father is excited about, giggles in glee as Jimin dances the two of them to her room.

Once there, he lays her down in her crib and begins grabbing a bunch of things he knows that she'll need, shoving them all into the cute bag his members sent over as a gift when they heard that she was born.

In less than half an hour, he's balancing a dressed up Sua on his hip as he somehow manages to lock the door behind him and pack everything into the car before safely securing his daughter in her baby seat.

He sighs heavily upon sitting himself down in the driver's seat, giving himself a few minutes to catch his breath before driving down the familiar route to his old home, his eagerness to see his members widening his grin and brightening his mood.

Eventually, he pulls into the driveway, trying to keep the noise he makes to a minimum so that they don't suspect his presence. He stands in front of the place with nostalgia weighing his heart down. It's been years since he last came over and he wonders if anything has changed, his hold on Sua subconsciously tightening at the thought.

Smiling to himself, he types the key into the lock pad on the door, chuckling when the lights on it turn green and the door clicks open, politely slipping his shoes off before stepping in.

There, standing with his broad back facing Jimin in unawareness of the younger's presence, is the oldest of his group, Jin, who appears to be getting a head start on lunch.

Jimin realises now how much he's missed Jin's cooking.

"Jungkook," Jin suddenly calls as he slices through an onion in a manner of annoyance, "I only asked you to go and buy meat. How come you're so late?"

Jimin purses his lips together in an almost futile attempt to suppress his laughter.

"Why are you so quiet?" is Jin's next question, worry and suspicion seeping into the edges of his words as he puts the knife down onto the counter and wipes his hands. "Did you buy something you weren't supposed to? Jungkook, I told my credit card is not to be used to buy you snacks! You have your own—"

At this point, Jimin's no longer capable of holding in his laughter, the hearty sounds echoing around the kitchen as he hunches over to try and catch his breath.

Jin, on the other hand, is stunned to silence, his mouth dropped open in disbelief at the sounds of laughter that he's grown to miss so much.

Finally wanting to see for himself, the older turns on his heels and gasps upon glancing at Jimin, his hands trembling as they fly to his mouth while his eyes flick between Jimin and the smiling little girl balanced on his hip.

"No way," the older mumbles to himself before a cheek splitting grin blooms onto his face as he runs over to embrace Jimin lovingly, squeezing him to express just how much he was missed with the younger gratefully leaning into the hug.

Jin pulls away with his hand resting ever so gently on Jimin's shoulders, a look of pride making his eyes glisten with unshed tears as he turns his attention to Sua, cooing as he lightly tickles her side, chuckling tearfully as she giggles and attempts to bat his hands away.

Jimin hums in satisfaction and hands Jin his daughter, watching with a full heart as Sua immediately makes herself comfortable in his embrace and leans into his touch when he lowers himself to pepper her face with kisses.

"Oh, the guys have been dying to see you and Sua," Jin breathlessly laughs, bouncing up and down to soothe the young girl as he balances her on his hip. "I'm so glad you're here."

"I'm glad to be here too, I missed everyone so much," Jimin admits with a sheepish laugh, looking around the place with a softened expression. "Speaking of, where is everyone?"

"Somewhere around here," Jin sighs with a fond chuckle. "I'll call everyone down here for you."

Jimin nods, heading over to sit down on one of the metal stools surrounding by the kitchen counter, dropping Sua's bag by his feet as he relishes in the nostalgia this little house holds, finding himself slipping into a dream like state as he recounts some of the most memorable things that have happened within what was once his home.

"Guys," Jin calls from the hallway, the excitement evident within his high pitched and light voice, coating his words in a sweet honey, "we have a guest, get down here!"

Loud yet familiar chatter comes from somewhere behind the corner, the mere sound of it lifting the corner of Jimin's lips up as he stands to join Jin by the hallway to greet them.

"Jiminie?" Hoseok mutters in pure disbelief, the others stopping by his side's to let their mouths fall open at the sight of young man, eyes suddenly glassy.

"Hi," Jimin beams, approaching the group with his hands shaking. Not another word is shared as he throws himself into Hoseok's arms and feels several more wrap around him in a group that he's missed so dearly.

They stay like that for a while, sniffling and tightening the embrace as if one more may disappear when Jimin suddenly realises that he didn't come alone.

"Oh, right," the younger exclaims, wiggling himself out of the hug much to everyone's dismay and makes his way towards Jin, gathering his still grinning daughter into his arms. "Everyone, meet Sua. Sua, meet your uncles."

A synchronised gasp of awe is all the can be heard as the four guys crowd Jimin to get their turn at making the little one smile and laugh, simply enchanted by how cute and so much like Jimin she is.

"Can I hold her?" Taehyung timidly asks, the light reflecting off of his tear stained cheeks making it look as if he's painted his face with glitter. Without so much as a second thought, Jimin passes Sua over to Taehyung, watching as his features brighten and his eyes shine with an innocence and playfulness that Jimin swears he hasn't seen in a long time.

Instinctively, he reaches out to wipe the teary mess left on Taehyung's cheeks, the lack of reaction from the younger making it seem as if Jimin had never left.

Then, a thought occurred to him.

"Where's Kookie?" his eyebrows drawing on themselves in surprise that he didn't realise earlier.

"Still out shopping," Jin answers with a scoff, clearly used to the youngest's antics. "He should be back soon. He'll be over the moon to see you here considering he's probably the one that missed you the most."

Jimin nods, feeling his heartbeat increase erratically at the thought of being able to cuddle up with Jungkook again, just as he likes.

"I'm home!" a sweet voice echoes from the doorway, Jimin's cheeks beginning to ache from smiling so much as he heads to stand against the corner where everyone is gathered.

Jungkook rounds the corner, sifting through his small bag of shopping with a sheepish smile.

"Jin-hyung, I know you told me not to buy anything else but the banana milk was on special and I was running low—" the maknae looks up to see his members staring at him in bewildered amusement as Jimin stands in the middle of them, his smile fond and familiar as the younger drops his groceries. "Jimin-ssi!"

With a giggle and radiant smile, the youngest of the seven run towards Jimin before throwing himself into the older's arms, burying his face deeply into his neck. Jimin grunts at the impact but squeezes Jungkook into a tight hug nonetheless.

"Hyung," Jungkook whines, "I've missed you so much! Why haven't you come to visit?"

"Sorry, Kookie," Jimin sighs, flattening a palm against the back of Jungkook's head before sifting his fingers through the soft locks. "I've been so busy looking after Y/N and Sua that—"

"Sua?" Jungkook interrupts, pulling away from Jimin to show off his doe eyes widened in surprise. Jimin nods with a laugh, watching as Taehyung pushes himself through the crowd with the curious girl. Jimin pulls her into his chest and faces Jungkook with a small smile.

"Meet Sua," he grins. "Sua, meet your uncle Kookie."

The young girl makes grabby hands at Jungkook, the young boy wasting no time in cradling her to his chest like Jimin did, chuckling tearfully as the girl presses her hands on his face and starts giggling when he presses butterfly kisses against her palms.

"She's gorgeous," he mumbles to himself, ever so gently caressing her cheeks while laughing at her curious antics.

Jimin leans against the wall, watching as his daughter laps up all the attention she's receiving from her uncles with the fondest of smiles and warmest of hearts.

He realises that this is how you must feel when you watch him with Sua; at peace.

With a loving shake of his head, Jimin joins his brothers as they migrate to the living room for a much needed catch up.
